Notes

The next taping will be Thursday, December 6. They didn’t announce who the WWE Superstar guest will be.

Michael McGillicutty seems like he is now a face now.

I am still unsure of what the official name for Paige’s new finisher is. However, before the tapings start they always air a recap video of the last taping. I think I heard JR call the move the “Paige Turner”. I’m going to use that for its name, unless I find out it is called something else.

There was a hilarious moment where Jinder Mahal’s old music hit and he stared to make his way out. Then it stopped, he smiled and moon walked back behind the curtain. Then the 3MB music hit and he made his “proper” entrance.

Developmental Wrestler Announces Departure From WWE

4

Lucas Di Léo, a French wrestler WWE signed to a developmental contract earlier this year, announced on Facebook Thursday that he has parted ways with the sports-entertainment organization after requesting his contract release.

Di Léo, who appeared as Louis Fontaine for developmental league NXT, said he felt out of place in the company and wanted out. He is scheduled to undergo surgery on his shoulder in the coming days and didn’t want WWE to foot the bill after having his mind already made up.

Di Léo also notes that he no plans to join TNA Wrestling. Here is a rough translation of his announcement: “Well, what I write will require a bit of open-mindedness and intelligence. From these facts, I think everyone will not be able to understand … I say that because in my previous post I pointed out that I was going to give more details in a few times etc etc and in private messages that I ‘I received, there was almost all the time the same thing: “Why?’

“So my turn … Why do not you know to be patient? Why do not you read it right? Why do you think we accountable?

“I say this without any animosity, just human to human … I always tried to be relatively close to the people who contact me, either for advice or simply encouragement, but sometimes …

“Anyway, to end rumors that may arise, I have not been fired from the WWE (WWE does not return the injured people) and I’m not going to TNA (…) …

“I asked to be released from my contract simply because I felt out of place here … It’s not a matter of level or anything, just a matter of honesty. I felt that I still had things to do before I get into this great machine that is the WWE. When I was active in a corner of my head, but from the moment I had to sit, I was working … The fact is that, frankly, I consider that it is not the time for me to be part of the WWE.

“Which was “hasty” decision is that I had to have surgery in a few days. From here there was a dilemma: take the transaction costs of the WWE and ask to be released after my rehabilitation or be a man and tell them what I thought before they invest money for me.
I chose the second option. I decided to leave now because I did not want the WWE pays money for me while in my heart I wanted to leave to explore other horizons.

“Separation was done in very good words, I learned a lot during my months alongside team coaches NXT and I met some very good people!

“I have no bitterness, I left a happy man, taking care not to slam the door behind me. I hope I have satisfied your curiosity …

“And for questions like, “it goes back to the ICWA? “… I have never left the ICWA.

“Whether I catch this or that French structure, I NXT main event, Raw Smackdown, I am in Mexico, North Pole, Japan, under water, in the snow or whatever, I am part of the ICWA.”

Possible Replacement For Cody Rhodes At Survivor Series After Injury, Lilian Garcia Update, NXT Show Rescheduled

10

– At Tuesday’s WWE Main Event taping in Cleveland, Ohio, Cody Rhodes suffered a concussion and a strained shoulder, making his status for the Team Foley vs. Team Ziggler match at Survivor Series uncertain. Rhodes is scheduled to undergo further testing Friday.

Rumored TLC Main Event & Possible Scenarios For CM Punk’s WWE Title Future

30

The main event of December’s WWE Tables, Ladders and Chairs pay-per-view is rumored to be CM Punk vs. Mick Foley. The event takes place from Brooklyn, New York, close to where Foley is from. The match would probably be a non-title match and would give Punk a year-end feud leading into his expected WWE title defense against The Rock at the Royal Rumble.

If Punk retains the WWE title at Survivor Series and drops the belt to The Rock at the Royal Rumble, this could set up either Rock vs. Cena 2 or Rock vs. Punk 2 at WrestleMania.

Another scenario would be John Cena winning the WWE title at Survivor Series, 1 day shy of CM Punk reaching the 1-year mark as champion. Cena would then go on to face The Rock at the Royal Rumble, setting up a possible Rock vs. Cena III at WrestleMania or Rock vs. Punk for the WWE title at WrestleMania, if Rock beats Cena at the Rumble.

Upcoming Divas Feud, Linda’s Senate Campaign’s Desperate Final Days

8

– Linda McMahon’s US Senate campaign got ugly towards the end, with other Republicans distancing themselves from her in the days leading up to election day. Connecticut’s Hearst Newspaper broke a story about the McMahon campaign printing up fliers before the election that stated her opponent, Chris Murphy, was to blame for the extended power outages after Hurricane Sandy.

They also stated that Murphy received campaign contributions from individuals and companies affiliated with the major utility companies. Linda’s fellows Republicans who were asked to hand out the fliers refused to do so.

Randy Savage remains a long shot, mostly because his family is claiming Randy wanted the entire Poffo family inducted together (Brothers Randy Savage and “The Genius” Lanny Poffo, along with their father Angelo Poffo), like WWE did with the Von Erich family.

Celebrity inductees being talked about include Cindy Lauper and Mr. T, who were both involved with the first WrestleMania from Madison Square Garden, the site of next year’s ceremony.

WWE ’13 News: Updated First Week Sales (US & UK), THQ Still In Grave Danger

11

First week sales for the new WWE ’13 video game were around 250,000 units sold in the US. This is down slightly from last year, but still considered a huge success, since 20% of retail stores where the game was sold were closed that week due to Hurricane Sandy.

The game did another 57,000 units in the UK during the first week.

As previously noted, pre-orders for the game were through the roof, with the Attitude Era tie-in seen as the main selling point there.

WWE ’13 was a distant #2 in sales during its first week behind Assassins Creed, which sold around 1.6 million that week.

WWE’s video game publisher, THQ, remains in grave danger and could be sold in the next year. Despite the fact that THQ generates around $30-40 million per year off the WWE games (and more than $40 million from the Saints Row games), the company has very little cash on hand and a $100 million loan that is due next summer.

If THQ cannot find an investor to keep them afloat, the company will have to liquidate and the profitable WWE franchise would end up with another publisher, possibly Electronic Arts.
