Randy Orton Addresses His 60-Day Drug Suspension From WWE, Online Battle For Privacy

27

Randy Orton addressed his recent 60-day suspension for his second violation of WWE’s Talent Wellness Program during an interview with WWE Magazine. He admits that the numerous reports published online regarding the suspension made it difficult for him, though not because of how he may be perceived by fans and his parents.

“That was really hard for me,” Orton says of the suspension. “Not because of how fans would look at me or how my folks would look at me. To be honest, my mom and dad were happy that I had 60 days off. I was worked to the bone for the last four years. What really hurt most about this suspension is that, when my [4-year-old] daughter’s older, she can go back and [read about me online].”

Save for the occasional Twitter post, Orton refrains from using social media due to the venom some people have directed toward him and his family online. He now regrets revealing his family life in last year’s WWE DVD release on his career, The Evolution of a Predator.

“I look back at my DVD that came out last year, and I had my wife and daughter on there,” Orton said. “I really, really, kick myself for doing that. It was a good story, but it just gives people ammunition. For all the good that me doing what I do has done for my family, there are just as many negatives.”

There are numerous pages on social media outlets Facebook, Tumblr and Twitter, and other websites, dedicated to Orton and his private life. Some, however, are quite venomous and publish false information, which is his main source of contention. In his battle for privacy, Orton has taken matters into his own hands by personally contacting websites that have published alleged accounts of his outside-the-ring affairs and demanded that it be taken down.

He says of this new age of social media where wrestlers’ personal lives are exposed, “Instead of being able to tune in a few hours a week and watch us on TV, they can talk about us, claim to have knowledge about every aspect of our personal lives, type this knowledge, and then it’s written as truth.”

Scott Steiner and TNA Lawyers Scheduled For Court, British Boot Camp Finalists At Bound For Glory, Hulk Hogan

15

– Scott Rechsteiner, famously known as Scott Steiner, and legal representatives of TNA Wrestling are scheduled for a court hearing in Nashville, Tennessee on October 26, according to court records on nashvillechanceryinfo.org.

The hearing stems from Rechsteiner filing a Counter Claim against TNA in Nashville Chancery Court on September 10, which initially filed a formal complaint against the grappler to prevent him from making “disparaging remarks” about the organization and its employees on Twitter. TNA complains that Steiner’s comments breached a contract he signed in December 2010 stating that he is “forbidden from making public statements, including messages online, concerning TNA or any of its employees without prior approval.”

TNA filed a motion to dismiss Steiner’s claim on October 9.

– Jeremy Borash noted on Twitter that the finalists of British Boot Camp are in Phoenix, Arizona for this weekend’s Bound For Glory festivities. The program, which has been commissioned by Challenge TV and will air in December, will follow four Brits attempting to win a full-time TNA contact.

The finalists are wrestling twins Hannah and Holly Blossom, Marty Scurll and Rockstar Spud.

– Hulk Hogan tweeted the following regarding Bound For Glory: “It up to Sting and Bully Ray To stop this and save the day,BFG this Sunday is a game changer,I know Sting and Bully r gonna win it all.

“Phoenix and our Bound For Glory PPV is gonna be crazy this Sunday, please do t miss it,aces&8’s have one shot to get in our company TNA and Looking foward to HOF with TNA IMPACT WRESTLING,STING is a real Icon,in the ring with him last Thursday reminded just how big he really is.”

Adam Copeland Says He’s No Longer Edge, Update On Beth Phoenix, John Cena

36

– Adam Copeland stated during a radio interview in his native Ontario, Canada that he is no longer permitted to use the “Edge” name for public appearances since he is no longer affiliated with WWE.

“For me, Edge was just a character. I never introduced myself as (Edge). I never really worried about what people can advertise me as. It doesn’t really matter to me. I’ve always just introduced myself as Adam Copeland. I never really thought too much about it”, Copeland said in the interview.

“I think if I would have wrestled another five or seven years, I would have regrets. At this point, the rest of my body feels great. Once I get the surgery and they take the pressure off of my spinal cord, I’m going to feel like a million bucks. I feel better than most wrestlers my age; most of those guys are walking like Boris Karloff, while I’m able to run laps! I kind of look at it and go, ‘Yeah, I think this happened for a reason.’ From a physical standpoint, this is the healthiest I’ve ever felt.”

Visit FightingSpiritMagazine.co.uk for more information.

– Beth Phoenix, who is expected to part ways with WWE this month after giving notice, is no longer advertised for any upcoming events on the company website (with the exception of the Royal Rumble, which was posted months ago and has not been changed).

– John Cena is featured on the cover of the latest issue of the newsstand magazine Inside Wrestling.

He added, “HTM in @impactwrestling LOL. 1 on 1 face off with Bitchoff. Mic to Mic shoot!”

Christopher Daniels Discusses Sting Being Inducted Into The TNA Hall of Fame, Bound For Glory, Marvel Comics

3

TNA Wrestling star and one half of the “World Tag Team Champions of the World”, the “Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels joined The Rack Thursday Night. In a nearly 20 minute interview he talked about this evening’s Impact Wrestling and being put through a table by Sting and Bully Ray, his upcoming title defense against two teams at Bound for Glory, what he thinks of Sting going into the TNA Hall of Fame, the secret recipe for his famous Appletini, his involvement with Marvel Comics and especially Spider Man and any suggestions he has for fans, how to get Kaz and himself their own TV show, his favorite Bound for Glory moment, who he knows the leader of Aces and 8’s truly is, what the slogan would be if Kazarian and himself ran for the White House and much more.

How he was feeling after having been just put through a table at Impact by Sting and Bully Ray: Well, I am a little uncomfortable. I currently have ice on my back all the way down to the back of my right leg. I feel a little bit of sciatica, but because I am a physical marvel, I’m sure that I will be 105% for Bound for Glory; in fact, I’m going to do a bit of light jogging tonight as soon as I’m done eating here at the restaurant where I am eating. And then I’m going to stretch out a little bit and do some DDP Yoga.

His letter being printed in a recent Spider Man comic and how he got his comic super powers from a handshake with Billy Graham: “Exactly, both Frankie Kazarian and myself, it’s 100% true. You can look it up, it’s on Wikipedia; it’s on someone’s Wikipedia page, probably not mine because I don’t write my own, like some people. Look it up; if it’ says its on the internet, it’s true. If it happen in a Marvel letter’s column, so therefore it must be true.”

On having to face two teams this weekend at Bound for Glory: “Such a silly question. Of course we are ready to go. We’ve already beaten Kurt Angle and AJ Styles not once but twice; we beat them for the belts, the belts we currently hold, we defeated them for and we also beat them at No Surrender. And then, Chavo Guerrero III and Sean Hernandez, Jr. (sic); we’ve beaten those guys on national television. So, I mean, Hulk Hogan figured, ‘Well, if we can’t beat them, we’ve got to stack the deck against them’ so that all four of those guys are in the ring with us, but the problem is now those two teams are arguing with each other. Who’s going to get a chance at Kaz and Daniels first? Is it going to be the Latin guys? Is it going to be AJ or Kurt? I’ll tell you what the answer is: neither one of those guys is going to get their hands on us. We’re going to pick them apart; we’re like vultures picking apart a carcass on the Serengeti. We’re going to beat them to death, we’re going to leave them lying in a pool of their own blood. It’s as simple as that.”

What it was like being in the ring with an icon and future Hall of Famer like Sting: “Any time I can physically dominate someone like Sting, it’s awesome. But, of course things being the way they are, we were double teamed. We were unjustly beat upon; it was a 2-on-1 disadvantage that both Frankie and myself were put in. And then they bring tables into the ring; we won that match by DQ, We were three seconds away from beating them both with our finished, but of course then the table came into play and of course those guys couldn’t have beaten us 1-on-1, 2-on-1; they had to bring a table in. It was like an IKEA fest in there; everyone chanting ‘We want Tables! We Want Tables! Hey Bubba, get the Tables!’ For crying out loud! If they wanted tables, they could go shopping. This is professional wrestling; Frankie and I don’t dabble in this table nonsense. We don’t need props or paraphernalia to beat teams.”

His thoughts on Sting going into the TNA Hall of Fame: “You know what, I completely understand, as a current top guy in Impact Wrestling, and someone whose career is still so far from being over. Sting, however; he’s maybe three days away from retirement at any given moment, so that’s fine with me. He’s been a great ambassador for our company. He’s been someone who has supported this company since its inception. He’s an outstanding guy backstage, supporting the young wrestlers; guys that need direction and inspiration. I don’t personally need it but I see him backstage helping young lads out, like Dakota Darsow and Jesse Sorenson and Zema Ion and even once in a while giving a hand to someone like AJ Styles or Bob van Dam. You know, I don’t need those accolades from Sting because I already know I’m great. But, he’s trying to help out and try to be a team player and he deserves it. He’s put his effort it and he’s been an icon. He’s been an icon for many, many years now and he deserves it. It’ll be great to see him go off into the sunset and stop hanging in our locker room.”

His Bound for Glory moment and what it’s like being part of Bound for Glory, especially in a new market for TNA: “My favorite moment is, and I’ll share it with you because I don’t know if they are going to show it on television because they are biased against me, is the first Bound for Glory. The day before the flight, actually hours before the flight I had to leave Los Angeles to fly to Orlando to participate in the first Bound for Glory, my son was born. And if he was born 8 minutes later, I would have missed the flight and I wouldn’t have been able to make the first Bound for Glory where I wrestled AJ Styles in an Iron Man Match for the X Division Title. But 7 minutes after he was born, I got in my car and drove to LAX, and if you watch the first Bound for Glory and you look closely, on my right hand you’ll see a white hospital bracelet, worn in honor of my son’s birth, two days before the Bound for Glory event. So that’s my favorite moment.

“As far as Bound for Glory, you know I can’t say enough about the effort that our locker room puts together when we get into a situation like Bound for Glory. I think everyone say the effort we put into Slammiversary this year; Slammiversary was an off-the-charts show. And now we’re going to be in another new market, the first time for us to be in Phoenix, AZ. It’s going to be a chance for Phoenix to see their favorite wrestlers. For some people, that may be Sting, that may be AJ Styles, but let’s be honest, most people’s favorite is me and Frankie Kazarian. So it’s going to be a great day for all of Phoenix to get a chance to see ‘The Physical Fascination’ Frankie Kazarian and ‘The Sexually Delicious’ Christopher Daniels.”

*SPOILERS* For Sunday’s TNA Bound For Glory PPV

Sting Talks Aces & Eights, TNA’s Creative Direction, Wrestling For WWE Before He Retires

19

TNA star Sting recently spoke with the Phoenix New Times to promote Sunday’s Bound for Glory PPV and discussed the Aces and 8s angle, TNA’s overall creative direction and more. Here are some highlights of what Sting said about:

On the segment where he and Hulk Hogan were kidnapped by Aces and 8s: “Yeah…I do have a lot to say about that but, you know, I just need to play it safe for right now. I can say that we were real close to needing S.A.G. cards, you know? (laughs) We need to be with the guild here if we keep going like this.”

On whether fans will be satisfied with the Aces and 8s payoff: “That is always a concern and I’ve been on both sides of the fence when there’s been a big build-up happening and there was not a payoff and there’s nothing worse, believe me. But, man, when the payoff is there and delivery is made, it’s awesome. Only time will tell. My hands have not really been around this one like in the past because it’s not about me. I just want to try to make it as good as I possibly can.”

On TNA’s creative direction: “I’m glad that the storylines are what they are now…eh, I don’t agree with everything happening, but, again, whatever is put before me, I will always just try to enhance or tweak or make changes that I think will make it better for everybody,” Sting said. “And I’m not just talking about for myself, I’m talking about for everybody.”

On who he would like to work with: “Magnus is somebody who I’m watching and going, ‘Man, there’s definitely that could be done with him.’ He just needs to find his niche. There are few others that I’m interested in working with and I want to do that.”

On how much longer he’ll wrestle: “That question comes (up) about once a year and its a legitimate question. Every year I think, ‘How long am I going to do this?’ And it’s one of those play it by ear and see what happens kind of things.”

On a potential WWE jump: “I know every year there seems to be talk of it. There’s rumors that always fly. It was all over the Internet pretty big last year or the year before. So, I don’t know, especially now that I will be inducted into the TNA Hall of Fame. They may just turn the page at that point. I have no idea.”

On what he would be looking for in a potential WWE leap: “It’s too tough of a question to answer because its not just what they would do. It would have to depend on what the dynamics of that particular time would be. What’s going on? What’s the context? For example, right here with TNA. What are my choices? You just never say never.”

On wanting to be able to use his WCW footage (which WWE owns): “There have been times over the years where I wanted to have some footage to use for other personal things in life and I don’t have it. Although I did call once and they were great. They gave me whatever I needed and it was nice.”

Darren Aronofsky Denies Hogan’s Claim That He Was Considered To Star In “The Wrestler”

11

Hulk Hogan repeated his claim once again this week that he was originally offered the role of Randy “The Ram” Robinson in The Wrestler, but had turned it down because he didn’t want his image to distract from the film itself.

“The Wrestler” director/producer Darren Aronofsky set the record straight on Twitter, calling out Hogan for his false claim:

“for the record the role of the wrestler was always @mickeyrourke it was never hulk hogan’s as he claims on @howardstern”

Austin Aries On Why He Needs To Win At Bound For Glory, The State Of The X Division, His Success In TNA

3

Promoting Bound For Glory, TNA World Heavyweight Champion Austin Aries appeared on Monday Night Mayhem (audio available at MondayNightMayhem.com). Highlights from the interview are as follows:

Why he credits simply being himself as the primary reason for his success over the past year since returning to TNA: “I’m just a big believer in ‘timing is everything.’ In every situation in life, you should try and learn from it, and continue to grow. Coming back into TNA, I was more prepared, and I think they were a little more prepared for me. I have been given some opportunities, and put in a position, and I have been capable enough to capitalize on them. When I came into TNA the second time, I was very comfortable in who I was, not that I had a ‘take it or leave it’ approach. I was going to go in there, and be myself, and trust in that, and let the chips fall where they may. I’m enjoying my second time in TNA. Obviously I’m having a lot of success, and I’m about to main event the biggest Pay-Per-View of the year with Jeff Hardy, everybody’s ‘golden boy’…and I look forward to it.”

The evolution of the X-Division since he relinquished the TNA X-Division Championship earlier this summer and what he sees for the future of the division: “You take someone like myself out of the X-Division, and that was a big hole that had to be filled. You see Zema Ion stepped up, and Sonjay Dutt, who has had some issues with his shoulder, but has come back from that. You saw Kenny King make his debut, and I think we will be seeing him again. There’s an influx. There are guys coming in and making some impressions. We will see what happens there.”

What it means to him in having the confidence of TNA as its World Heavyweight Champion leading into Bound For Glory and why he “wants to spoil everybody’s party” in his World Title Match vs. Jeff Hardy: “I have to be real honest. It was great to have that boost of confidence and have the company behind me leading up to winning the championship. That’s really only half the battle. Once you have it, it’s what you can do with it. I’ll be honest. I see a lot of that momentum and support shifting to Jeff Hardy. That doesn’t necessarily bother me, because I’ve always operated best when it’s ‘me against the world,’ and coming into Bound for Glory, that’s how I’m approaching it. I kind of want to spoil everybody’s party, retain my championship, and then talk about my momentum and moving forward. This is my first real challenger after moving past Bobby Roode, so I need to cement this before we start talking about having momentum and how I feel.”

The final message that he wants to personally send to “The Charismatic Enigma” leading into TNA’s biggest Pay-Per-View of the year and what he feels he has to prove to himself in their match this Sunday night: “I think the one message I have been trying to send to Jeff is that I’m still hungry. I’m not sure that he has that same hunger, because he has accomplished a lot of things that can make a man complacent and not as hungry as he used to be. I know Jeff behind the scenes. I know his priority list. I’m not going to sit here and tell anyone that wrestling is number one on that priority list, when you factor in everything else, like his artistic ventures and his family. I don’t have those things. I haven’t yet achieved the same level of success that Jeff has. I don’t feel like I have 100% of the support behind the scenes that a person of Jeff Hardy has, and I will have to prove myself to get it.”

John Cena To Be NY Jets’ Team Captain This Sunday, Ryder Says His Show Will Suck This Week

34

– Zack Ryder noted on Twitter that he submitted Episode 88 of his Z! True Long Island story and if WWE doesn’t edit the episode, it’s going to blow our minds. A couple hours later, he followed up with another tweet saying WWE rejected his submission and thus, this week’s episode “will suck.”

– John Cena will be the honorary team captain for the NFL’s New York Jets this Sunday when they play the Indianapolis Colts at MetLife Stadium (home of WrestleMania 29). Cena is still rehabbing his elbow injury and won’t be appearing at this weekend’s WWE live events.

– Speaking of Cena, WWE.com has an article up explaining the black “Kinesio Tape” we saw on his elbow on RAW. Chris Arrigo of Advanced Rehabilitation told WWE:

“It basically does two or three main things. It helps reduce pain … eliminate swelling under the skin and helps support the muscles and joints for improved, pain-free movement. The tape lifts the skin to promote the flow of lymphatic fluid, which helps reduce associated swelling.”

JBL Apologizes For Offending The Colon Family On RAW

21

JBL wrote the following on his Facebook page, apologizing to the Colon family for saying that Carlos Colon owes him (and several other people) money during his commentary on RAW:

“Wrestling has always had good guys and bad guys (heels), if there were no heels there would be no heroes.

I remember being in Austin, Texas and cutting a promo on how UT had lost to Oklahoma and mocking the Longhorns (which killed me as I am a lifelong UT fan). Or, being in Dallas with Tony Dorsett (one of my heroes, again a lifelong diehard Cowboy fan) being there and cutting a promo on the Cowboys about why they were losers. Both of those just killed me, but it’s a work-it’s what I do.

This past week I did 5 hours of TV for WWE, I am a heel announcer. I do my best to get over talent, story lines and hopefully entertain.

This past week I said many ‘heel’ things not intended to offend but rather to entertain.

I had said (working with two of best announcers in WWE history) that I was a ‘dollar working with two dimes’ (referring to JR and Cole).

I had said Brodus Clay was a cross between LaToya Jackson and Free Willy or a ‘Justin Timberlake trained sea monster’.

I said Mil Mascaras had a huge ego and glad his nephew ADR did not (when in reality ADR has a huge ego filled character on TV), it was a way to entertain-or at least try.

I went to Primo and Epico and made sure I had their title history as well as their father Carlo Colon’s, so I could try and help them in a very short match with Ryback.

I quoted their history, did my best to put them over and then made a comment with something to the effect of ‘Primo comes from a great heritage his father was a 24 time Puerto Rico champion’. I added, ‘he still owes me money… and many others’. I’m a heel.

However, apparently I have offended Mr Colon and/or the wrestling community/office in Puerto Rico. This was never intended, there was no malice. I was trying to entertain–and put his kids over by listing their histories.

So my apologies to Mr Colon, Primo and Epicco, and any of the other wrestling community in Puerto Rico that are now upset.”

I had assumed they would know that I was merely trying my best to do my job and no malice was intended-that is obviously not the case, please understand my only intention was to entertain.”

Tammy Sytch Called “An Uncontrollable, Violent Demon” By Former Boyfriend Following Latest Arrests

23

Former WWE performer Tamara Sytch, famously known as Sunny, is due to appear in court on Oct. 30 after being arrested for the fifth time in one month Tuesday and her second time in less than 24-hours, for allegedly violating a protective order stemming from an original September arrest. WFSB Channel 3 in Connecticut aired a news story on the matter Wednesday night, with comments from the victim.

The WWE Hall of Famer was arrested Monday night after police were called to her former Branford, Conn. home where she was found intoxicated. Law enforcement said her being inside the home violates protective orders issued by the court for previous domestic violence arrests.

After being released from jail on $25,000 bond Tuesday following her fourth arrest, a bail bondsman dropped Sytch off down the street from her ex-boyfriend’s home at approximately 4:00 p.m. A neighbor of the apartment complex noticed Sytch on the property again and she was subsequently arrested by police.

WFSB Channel 3 asked the bail bondsman for comment on the matter, but would not respond.

One neighbor who did not want to be identified discussed the matter to the news station. “She’s a really nice person,” the neighbor said. “She needs help and obviously she needs more help now because she loves the wrong guy.”

The victim, Damien Selvaggio, known on the independent wrestling circuit as Damien Darling, told WFSB Channel 3 that the only person who can help Sytch is herself.

“When Tamara is sober she is an amazing person, but when she drinks, she is an uncontrollable, violent Demon,” he said in a statement.

– Following the incident on RAW when CM Punk struck a fan in the face twice, many people in WWE were expecting the company to discipline the WWE Champion. Nothing has happened to Punk yet and it’s unlikely anything major will come of it, since WWE can’t afford to suspend him due to John Cena and Randy Orton being out of action.

Booker T On Why He Doesn’t Want To Be Inducted Into The WWE Hall of Fame Yet, WCW Highlights, His TNA Run

10

Promoting his autobiography, From Prison to Promise: Life Before the Squared Circle, Booker T spoke to Joshua Modaberi of Wrestling101.com to discuss the book, his twenty-plus year career in professional wrestling and more. Highlights from the interview are as follows:

Being backstage on the night Jerry “The King” Lawler suffered a heart attack during Raw: “I was in the back watching on the monitor and then realised something wasn’t right and I’ll tell you it was scary and we just have to thank God Jerry is a strong man and a fit guy to pull through that, most guys his age wouldn’t have been able to pull through but Jerry Lawler has always been pretty straight laced, he’s never been a drinker, he’s always lived his life clean.

“The WWE doctors were right there and in the right position to take care of him, and when they brought him to the back I was only a few feet away and it was really scary seeing the doctors beating on his chest trying to keep him alive.”

His personal highlights in World Championship Wrestling: “Starting from the beginning and having Sherri Martel as our manager, and I think she was the greatest manager in the business, to having us under her wing definitely gave us the belief that we were legitimate stars because everybody Sherri had been with before us all of those guys were stars, so we just fell into good company.

“As for some of the matches as Television Champion, I had great matches with Chris Benoit and Fit Finlay, then going on to win the big one, the World Championship, against Jeff Jarrett, that was a highlight in my career. But there have been so many highlights in my career it is hard to single out one and say that was it. But to start off in WCW at the bottom of the totem pole and to finish off on the final night right at the top of the totem pole that gave me self-gratification.”

His two-year run with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling: “The way I would explain my time in TNA would be like a vacation, I was detoxing from the rigorous WWE schedule and the hours spent on the road. I just needed time to step back and not think about myself so much but try to help the next lot of guys coming up in the business. That’s what I went to TNA for, I was hoping to help the next generation of stars come up and it was great working with guys like Bobby Roode, AJ Styles and Samoa Joe and giving them some of my knowledge.

“However the company then started to focus on the older guys and my experience there was a good experience but I don’t feel I got as much out of it as I could have.”

Why he doesn’t want to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame until he reaches a certain age: “Yeah, that’s just my thing, I don’t think I’m ready for it, I’m not ready for the Hall of Fame yet. I’m not ready to make that walk, I’m not ready to make that speech yet, I really can’t tell you why because I’m not sure but do I think I have a ton of wrestling days left in me, no, that’s not it at all.

“I just think guys should reach a certain prestige before they get inducted into the Hall of Fame. People talk about what I’ve done in the business with all the accolades and the titles but I still think there is something left for me to do. Maybe it’s going to do a speaking tour, talking to kids in trouble and turning their lives around or some charity work. I’m just not ready for it just yet, and I want to be ready when it happens.”

Booker T also discusses the wrestlers who inspired him to become one himself, tag team wrestling, the major difference between WCW and WWE, working with “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, his role as General Manager of SmackDown, and his career highlight in WWE, among other topics. The full interview is available here.
