WWE Reportedly Steering Clear Of All Recent TNA Talent

13

Don’t expect the likes of Alex Shelley, Velvet Sky, Devon, Angelina Love or even Hall of Famer Ric Flair to pop up in a WWE ring anytime soon. According to Wrestling Observer editor Dave Meltzer, Vince McMahon’s company is steering clear of any and all recently affiliated TNA Wrestling talent while the two grappling organizations do battle in court.

On May 23, 2012, TNA Entertainment, LLC. filed a lawsuit in Nashville, Tennessee against World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. and Brian Wittenstein, a former office worker for both organizations. TNA accused WWE of obtaining secret contract information in an attempt to poach their talent in violation of Tennessee’s Uniform Trade Secrets Act.

Wittenstein, who worked for TNA Wrestling for three years, was terminated on August 3, 2011. At that time, he entered into a Separation Agreement and General Release, preventing him from disclosing certain confidential TNA information. TNA alleges that Wittenstein violated the agreement by downloading confidential TNA trade secrets and providing that information to WWE after joining the organization months later. Although WWE fired Wittenstein and alerted TNA officials as to the disclosure of the information, TNA claims WWE waited three weeks to notify them and has used the confidential information, including data regarding wrestler compensation, to recruit contracted TNA talent to work for WWE. Wittenstein’s contract with TNA had specifically ordered that he not share confidential information about the organization after his employment ceased.

Matt Morgan, who had teased joining WWE since concluding his contractual obligations to TNA in June, resurfaced at Saturday’s house show in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Dressed in street clothes, Morgan entered the ring through the crowd and laid out Robbie E. Meltzer wrote on the F4WOnline.com message board regarding Morgan’s apparently renewed partnership with TNA, “I guess that tells you about that TNA lawsuit now since they didn’t take Morgan.”

It has also been speculated that Alex Shelley and Ric Flair could wind up in WWE now that both individuals are free agents. Meltzer, however, reveals that the organization is not negotiating with either talent despite being legally able to.

“Nobody is talking about Shelley and they won’t even officially talk to Flair even though his non-compete is up,” he wrote.

Following the lawsuit filing, it was reported that TNA was looking to cut costs by restructuring talent contracts when they expired. This ploy appears to have led to the respective departures of Devon and Velvet Sky since both talents reportedly left the organization due to their financial terms not being reached on new deals.

Rob Terry Says He Wants To Be The Face Of TNA Wrestling, Brooke Hogan Changes Her Look

13

– Though presently the bodyguard for TNA Wrestling star Robbie E, Rob Terry aspires to come into his own and become the star attraction of the Orlando-based promotion.

“My goal in the wrestling world is to become the Impact Wrestling world heavyweight champion and the face of Impact Wrestling,” he told BodyBuilding.com in an interviews. “I’d love to meet as many of my loyal supporters as I can. Impact Wrestling has some of the best fans in the world.”

He also revealed that his dream opponent is Hulk Hogan. Regarding “The Hulkster,” he states, “He has done so much in this industry and was one of the first wrestlers to inspire me.”

The 6-foot-5, 295 pounds grappler uses bodybuilding to hone his massive physique and competitive edge. He says of his overall philosophy on training, “My philosophy on training boils down to one thing and one thing only: intensity. Intensity is what I bring to the wrestling ring and to the weight room; it’s what takes me out of my comfort zone and pushes me to the next level. There are many training routines out there. People tend to jump from one program to another. I believe that no matter what program you’re using, if you apply intensity, believe in what you’re doing, and give 100%, you’re going to grow.”

Terry also reveals his workout routine, his biggest lifts, how he wound up in TNA Wrestling and more. The full interview is available here.

– Brooke Hogan, Executive in Charge of TNA Wrestling’s Knockouts division, is going for a new look. She tweeted the following photo of herself with black hair.

Kurt Angle Interview – Whether Austin Aries Is Too Small To Be TNA Champion, Is He Still Interested In MMA?

5

Speaking to ChadDukesWrestlingShow.com, Kurt Angle discussed his movie career, various stars of TNA Wrestling talents, wrestlers small in stature being involved in the heavyweight championship scene and whether he still aspires to compete in mixed martial arts. Highlights from the interview are as follows:

Whether he’s still interested in competing in mixed martial arts: “The last time I talked was two and a half years ago with Dana White, I took the UFC physical. We just couldn’t come to terms on a starting time. I wanted it 3-6 months, Dana needed me in four and a half weeks and I understand he wanted me to be ready and he needed me at that point and it just wasn’t gonna work out.”

When asked whether White had an opponent in mind for Angle, he responded, “Well, they wanted me to be on Ultimate Fighter but I told them I wouldn’t do it for free. So he came up with a very nice deal, that being I would get paid very well for that, thank god, and a 6 fight deal. I didn’t want to go in there half prepared. I wanted to go in there full blown. I’m 43 now, I tried out for the Olympics or I was going to and I got injured five different times last year. So my body’s just not holding up the way I want it to so I don’t think it’s going to be a possibility.”

On being the go-to guy in assisting new talent in getting over: “I really enjoyed it, I took it as a compliment. At TNA they did the same thing. They’d bring in somebody like the Pope or Mr. Anderson or whoever else that was coming in that was coming from WWE or had somewhat of a name, the first program they’d do would be with me. I’ve always enjoyed that it’s a good challenge and Desmond Wolfe was another one that came from Ring of Honor. So I like that and I know that the company has faith in me. Both WWE did and TNA had the faith in me to make the guys look as good as I could.”

Whether Austin Aries is too small to be TNA World Heavyweight Champion: “No. I think Austin Aries as champion, I think he deserves it, he’s an awesome talent. Chris Benoit and Eddie Guerrero, unfortunately their tragedies really damaged the ability for smaller guys to step up and become champions. I don’t know why but I think they were just unfortunate. I don’t think it was because of their size, I think they were just terrible tragedies that happened with both those families and it’s gotten a little bit of a bad reputation now, the under 6 foot club and I don’t think it should be that way. I think any size is a good size.”

*Spoiler* Big Name Replacing Jerry Lawler On Commentary Tonight

28

Following Jerry Lawler’s medical emergency on Monday’s WWE RAW, he’ll obviously be off WWE television for the foreseeable future. There has been a lot of speculation this week as to who will replace Lawler on commentary.

Jim Ross is in Boston for tonight’s WWE Night of Champions pay-per-view, a sign he could be returning to the announcer’s booth.

As of Sunday morning, F4Wonline.com is reporting that former WWE Champion John Bradshaw Layfield had been contacted by WWE and they reached an agreement for him to work commentary for Night of Champions and tomorrow’s RAW.

Dave Meltzer says this could be more than a 2-shot deal for JBL, who is off to Africa later this month to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro as part of his Seven Summits mountain climbing adventure.

John Cena Debuting New Pink Gear At Night of Champions

71

John Cena will debut new pink attire in recognition of breast cancer awareness at tonight’s Night of Champions pay-per-view event in Boston, Massachusetts, according to The Boston Herald.

The publication released a photo of Cena donning his new threads late Saturday, which includes a black “Rise Above Cancer” T-Shirt with a pink logo and pink “Rise Above Cancer” cap.

Cena will be wearing his new gear through October, which is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, as WWE partners with Susan G. Komen for the Cure to eradicate breast cancer. The WWE Superstar has a personal reason for helping out the cause.

“One of the reasons I really wanted to do something with Susan G. Komen is because of my brother,” said Cena. “Early detection saved his life.”

Cena’s youngest brother, Sean, discovered last November that he had brain cancer.

“Sean’s doing extremely well,” said Cena. “It was an inoperable brain tumor, but one of the main reasons he’s done well is the early detection. I know it’s brain cancer and breast cancer, but that key is early detection.”

Though the partnership seems odd on the surface, there are more than five million women who watch WWE programming every week, making it the perfect match.

“It’s very exciting for us to be partnered up with Susan G. Komen,” said Paul “Triple H” Levesque, WWE’s Executive Vice President of Talent and Live Events. “The WWE and John Cena have such a large female fan base, so it’s important for us to support the people who have supported us for so long.”

Rosa Mendes Too Risque For WWE’s New Children’s Show?, Saturday Update On Jerry “The King” Lawler’s Health

30

– It would appear that Rosa Mendes is too risqué for WWE’s new kid-friendly program on The CW, Saturday Morning Slam. The sultry manager was nowhere to be found on this morning’s show when her men, Primo and Epico, took on Kofi Kingston and R-Truth in a tag team match. The match was taped before last week’s SmackDown taping.

The show is rated TV-G, a level lower than WWE’s general TV-PG rating. Due to the program being aimed specifically at children, it does not feature any moves or holds aimed at the neck due to what is seen as their violent nature.

– WWE Hall of Famer Jerry “The King” Lawler continues to recover after suffering a heart attack on Raw Monday. Jim Ross provided an update on the wrestling legend’s health as of Saturday.

He tweeted, “@JerryLawler still hospitalized in Montreal but doing well. Better every day. Just needs to go slow & heal. Hopefully, will go home nx wk.”

Ross also said that Lawler will not be on hand for tomorrow night’s Night of Champions pay-per-view event: “King will NOT be @ NOC PPV. He had a HEART ATTACK Mon. Ask ur parents 2 explain. Cole won’t be going solo. I Suggest u watch.”

In regards to whether WWE will show support for Lawler this Monday on Raw, he said, “Likely an update, well wishes, paycheck.”

CM Punk’s WWE Championship Reaches New Milestone, Wrestling Reaction To Tammy Sytch’s Multiple Arrests

18

– CM Punk has reached another milestone as Saturday marks his 300th day as WWE Champion. He also surpassed Ultimate Warrior and Superstar Billy Graham’s respective title reigns this week in terms of days held.

– Tammy Sytch appeared for Evolve Wrestling last Saturday, three days before her string of arrests in Connecticut on domestic violence complaints. Gabe Sapolsky, the promotion’s co-owner, said he was surprised by the news.

“Tammy was in great spirits and totally sober last weekend. Her angle with us was just a one show thing that we wrapped up in a backstage promo, but she did a great job and seemed to be in a really good place in life,” he wrote on Facebook.

Rob Feinstein, owner of RF Video, was also surprised by the news after working with her days earlier.

“Not sure what to think about the Tammy story on TMZ. I got a ton of calls and emails about it. I think its really sad that is all I will say,” he wrote on Facebook. “We were with her all last weekend and she seemed fine. We filmed that new On the Road DVD with her just 6 days ago……”

Reby Sky, who engaged in a war of words with Sytch through social media last June over wrestler conduct, wrote “LOL” on Twitter in response to news of her arrest showing up on TMZ.com.

Tammy Sytch Heading Back To Rehab Following Multiple Arrests This Week; Placed Boyfriend In Headlock

13

Former WWE performer Tammy Sytch, famously known as Sunny, is entering a rehabilitation center again after being arrested three consecutive days this week in Connecticut for crimes related to domestic violence.

According to WFSB Channel 3 in Connecticut, Sytch kept returning to her boyfriend’s home after police ordered her not to. During one of the incidents, she placed him in a headlock and pulled his hair. Later, she was intoxicated and entered the residence by climbing through a window.

According to Branford Police, the 39-year-old was first arrested for disorderly conduct on Tuesday at 8:55 p.m. She was released on $500 bond and appeared in New Haven Superior Court on those charges.

Sytch was arrested again on Wednesday at 4:49 p.m. for disorderly conduct and strangulation for an incident involving the same man. She was also charged with violating a restraining order. She was arraigned that day at Superior Court in New Haven and released on $25,000 bond.

Sytch was arrested on Thursday 8:00 p.m. for once again violating a restraining order. She was released on $2,500 bond and appeared at Superior Court in New Haven Friday.

Sytch was released into the care of her sister, who was taking her to a rehabilitation center in New Jersey. The website notes that WWE is expected to pay for her medical care.

“There’s a bed waiting for her today,” said Sytch’s sister, Denise Stone in court Friday.

According to F4WOnline.com, the incidents occurred at the home of independent wrestler Damien Darling, who is, or at least was as of earlier this week, Sytch’s boyfriend. She had recently moved to his house in Branford, Connecticut. The chain of events began with a major argument between the two.

This will mark as at least Sytch’s fourth stint in rehab-WWE stated to TMZ.com that they had sponsored her on three occasions. The legendary Diva was admitted to an emergency room on July 13 for consuming a large amount of vodka and subsequently entered rehab a few days later. She claimed sobriety after completing the program in August.

Katarina “Winter” Waters Discusses Leaving TNA Wrestling, “Incest” Gimmick In WWE, Drugging Angelina Love

15

Katarina “Winter” Waters was a guest on this week’s “Running The Ropes” hosted by Brian Bertand & Chris Kelly , which can be heard on http://www.snsradionetwork.com & http://www.unchained-wwe.com, and below are some of the highlights:

Her thoughts on the teased incest angle between Paul Burchill and herself: “I can’t exactly remember who (came up with the idea), it was put to us by one of the agents and honestly, I thought it was a great idea. I was totally for it and I thought it could have been cool, something like “The Crow” where you have the bad guy with the sister and they teased that incest thing. It has that ambivalent “you don’t know if it is happening or isn’t happening” feeling but people are kind excited about it. Any incest angle that has been on any kind of television had amazing ratings as people are fascinated by anything that is a little taboo. I thought we were lucky to have a storyline that would have been a little “on the edge” but unfortunately, with the whole PG thing, it got nixed.”

The idea behind the “drugging “Angelina Love storyline: “It’s about the lingering effects. It’s like when you take a drug a lot (to a point) where certain parts of your brain with simulate to the effects of the drug and it might change you forever. So seeing as I was drugging Angelina and putting her under my hypnotic spell, eventually it just so happened her brain altered itself in tune with the drug.”

Her feelings about her 18 day Knockout’s title reign last year before dropping it to Mickie James then regaining it: “Honestly, I thought it was kind of pointless with the little switch-a-roo in between. Sometimes it’s worth building the storyline with one person holding the championship for a little longer. The same thing happened when Velvet (Sky) won it (at Bound For Glory), she was built up at the top babyface and finally she won it and she dropped it immediately and I felt like it was kind of weird.”

Her thoughts on leaving TNA Wrestling and if she is happier now she has left: “I’m happier because I’m making the transition into acting to where I don’t want to be restricted by contacts or obligations to a wrestling company. I still love wrestling but in terms of having a career, I’m not going to have a career in wrestling now, I’m going to have a career in acting. I don’t want a thing that could stand in the way of that number one, and number two, I don’t want to constantly be on the road and constantly traveling for wrestling as I don’t want to get injured.”

Other subjects covered in the interview include her thoughts on the state of the Knockouts, Vince Russo, what movies she has upcoming and much more. The full audio is available here beginning at the 1 hour 29 minute mark.

WWE Issues Statement On Tammy “Sunny” Sytch’s Arrests

12

As reported Friday, former WWE performer Tammy Sytch, also known as Sunny, was arrested three consecutive days this week in Connecticut for “crimes related to domestic violence.” WWE released a statement to TMZ.com Friday afternoon concerning the Hall of Famer’s multiple run-ins with the law since she recently checked into a rehabilitation program at their expense.

Their statement reads, “As part of WWE’s Former Talent Program, we sent Ms. Sytch to rehabilitation three times, with all costs covered by WWE.”

“Unfortunately, Ms. Sytch continues to make poor personal choices. WWE will continue to provide assistance should she want to take advantage of it.”

According to the Branford Police, the 39-year-old was first arrested for disorderly conduct on September 11 at 8:55 p.m. due to an incident involving a man who was living in the house where the altercation took place.

After being released Wednesday on $500 bond, Sytch was arrested again at 4:49 p.m. for disorderly conduct and strangulation for an incident involving the same man. She was also charged with violating a restraining order.

After being released Thursday on $25,000 bond, Sytch was arrested again at 8:00 p.m. for once again violating a restraining order. The incident involved the same man.

Sytch was released Friday on $2,500 bond, and according to TMZ.com, “is currently enjoying several hours of freedom.”

TMZ.com has reached out to Sytch for comment, but thus far, has received no response.

MAILBAG: Something Special For Raw’s 20th Anniversary?

19

SEScoops Mailbag for September 14th

(please submit YOUR questions to [email protected])

Q: With all the wrestlers traveling, especially the A-list talents, how and when do the talents have time to practice and rehearse moves/bumps/spots? Does the crew set-up a ring (or multiple rings) early in the week and the talents come into an empty arena and practice what might work [versus] what might not and rehearse the order? Or do they only talk it out? – Jay H.

A: Some wrestlers go over spots and such in the ring the day of the event while others simply discuss things beforehand. For a TV taping or PPV, they’re typically required to be at the arena many hours in advance. In other cases, you have someone like The Rock who has his own ring set up either at home or somewhere else and can train there. Before his tag match with John Cena against Miz and R-Truth at last year’s Survivor Series, he invited his opponents to New Orleans, where was filming his GI Joe movie, to rehearse the match.

Q: Has The Undertaker ever submitted [in a match] in his career? – Ravonn A.

A: Technically, yes he has, but it either didn’t result in an actual loss or was controversial in nature. He lost via Mandible Claw to Mankind at the 1996 King of the Ring, but that was after being clobbered with the urn and knocked out. He also tapped to a triangle choke by Kurt Angle in a match on Smackdown but had Angle’s shoulders pinned to the mat and tapped only after the referee counted three (the match ended in a draw). CM Punk beat him using the Anaconda Vice at Breaking Point in 2009, which qualifies as a submission loss, but it was a screwjob (in Montreal, naturally) and he never actually gave up.

Q: A few weeks ago, WWE did the big Raw 1,000. Since January 2013 is coming up, do you think they are going to do something big for Monday Night Raw’s 20th Anniversary? – David

A: Of course they will, and what they should do is, for one night only, bring Raw back to the Manhattan Center where it all began! If it’s too much of a bitch to haul everyone up 8 flights to the Grand Ballroom, then the Hammerstein downstairs will suffice. It made for a fun atmosphere for those ECW shows several years ago and would bring things full circle.

Q: Since the Royal Rumble is pretty much pointless now, how do you feel about starting a new Rumble concept [similar to] what happened when Jesse Ventura was running Raw? He had a battle royal that was just for guys that have never been champion, which Sheamus ended up winning and went on to TLC to beat John Cena. What if they did the same thing with the Royal Rumble? Have 30 guys that have never been champion battle it out and the winner goes on to Elimination Chamber to wrestle for the [title] of their choosing. Then at the PPV, they have a title match to open the show and if they win, they have to defend it in the Chamber match itself. Thoughts? – Barry P.

A: That was the “Breakthrough Battle Royal” and was a nice concept for a match on Raw. To apply that to the Royal Rumble on PPV? Not so much. Part of the allure of the Rumble is having big stars compete in the match, all of whom have already been champion at least once. In fact, even some mid-card guys have been champion already, like Dolph Ziggler and Jack Swagger. What you’re left with is a pretty unappealing Royal Rumble roster that you’re now asking people to pay $50 to see. Plus, the Rumble is often used as a springboard for certain feuds heading into WrestleMania. It’s just not realistic.

Q: What are your thoughts on Wade Barrett and [where do you see him going] in 2012 and 2013? – Shane from Fort Lauderdale, FL

A: I see Barrett as a future World champion. Whether it happens next year or in 2014, if he can stay healthy, he’ll be a big-time player.

Q: I recently watched the “Breaking The Code” documentary where Bill Goldberg talks about how no one would want to see a Chris Jericho vs. Bill Goldberg match because no one could believe that Jericho would ever beat Goldberg. [Of course] several years later, Jericho in a legit backstage fight proceeded to choke Goldberg out and embarrass him. This kind of renders the argument if a small wrestler could ever defeat a big guy pointless, doesn’t it?

A: Not really, you’re comparing two totally different things. A small guy can always defeat a bigger guy in a fake pro wrestling match, no different than a woman or a midget can. Whoever is booked to win will win. In real life, how does a small man “defeat” a bigger man? If by defeat you mean knock him the **** out, then yes, it’s certainly not impossible.

Q: Do you think the fact that Brock Lesnar lost his first match back to John Cena made his match with Triple H not [reach] the heights it could have? – Alexandre O.

A: Absolutely, it had an effect. That and the fact the crowd was dead for most of it and it just wasn’t a great match. Both men have had better.

Q: If for some reason, John Cena was no longer in WWE, what would Vince McMahon do? It seems to me he’s put all of his eggs in one basket now for so long that if something were to happen to Cena, they would have a major problem. – David from London, England

A: He would cry. A lot. So would the fans, though likely for different reasons. But really, he likely would double-down on Orton and Sheamus as his top guys. It would also force them to push other guys, which would be a positive, and I could see guys like Barrett, Bryan and Ziggler being beneficiaries of that.

WWE Removing “Attitude Era” Videos Amid Linda McMahon’s United States Senate Campaign

87

WWE announced late Thursday that it was removing “dated and edgier” footage from its official website and media platforms, a day after co-founder Linda McMahon’s political opponent used clips in an attack ad.

“To better reflect our current family-friendly brand of entertainment, WWE is removing some dated and edgier footage from digital platforms,” said Brian Flinn, WWE’s Senior Vice President, Marketing and Communications, in a statement. “Some of this footage has been misused in political environments without any context or explanation as to when it was produced. This damages the corporate reputation of our company. WWE is well within its rights to protect its intellectual property for fair use.”

Flinn said the footage removal is not related to an ad released Wednesday by Rep. Chris Murphy, a Connecticut Democrat running for Senate against McMahon, which featured WWE footage while slamming her for allegedly off-shoring profits to avoid taxes and failing to provide health coverage for their performers. Rather, it is part of a re-branding effort.

While WWE held a PG-14 rating for much of the late 1990s and early 2000s when she was running the organization with her husband, Vince McMahon, its current content is rated PG or G.

Daniel Bryan Talks About Lawler’s Heart Attack, Getting Fired By WWE In 2010 & More

22

Daniel Bryan appeared on 98.5 SportsHub in Boston this morning. Thanks to Josh (@ClubberinTime) for sending in this report from his appearance.

Bryan started off by talking about Jerry Lawler’s heart attack on RAW this past Monday, and being in the ring at the time. He says he was in the middle of a chin lock and noticed that the crowd was looking away from the ring. He thought that there was a fight in the crowd, and first realized what was going on with Lawler when he went to the top rope. He noted that Lawler was very lucky, and the locker room was very concerned because they’re like a close family backstage.

Bryan said that William Regal came up with the “Daniel Bryan” name, and he revealed that he made a list of names, including “Buddy Peacock.”

He also discussed being a smaller wrestler in WWE, and said that he was lucky that he had ten years of independent wrestling experience before being thrown into a WWE ring. He noted that one of the best things about being out of the indys is that he gets a chance to shower after a WWE show, unlike wrestling in armory’s and small halls.

The host brings up the necktie incident that resulted in his firing from the company in 2010. Bryan admitted that he was fired because it “wasn’t PG.” He defended himself, and said that he was told that they [Nexus] were told to go out there and give a “gang-style” beating. He said that he was new with the company at the time and didn’t know the rules.

He is asked about the difference between “sports entertainment” and “wrestling.” Bryan stated that the fact that WWE produces 8 hours of television a week, it just can’t be wrestling. People would get bored by just 8 hours of wrestling, and he said that you need to throw interviews and storylines in there to give people a break.

Daniel Bryan revealed that he and CM Punk are NO longer vegans after being one for 2 1/2 years. He said that it was the hardest thing to find vegan food on the road.

The host talked about how much Andre The Giant used to drink, and that it doesn’t seem like the wrestlers are drinkers like they used to be. Bryan told a short story about having a cookie eating contest in a lobby in Japan, and the old timers making fun of them and noting how much the times have changed.

TNA Officially Drops Two Wrestlers From Their Roster, Carlito Weighs In On The X Division

7

– TNA Wrestling has parted ways with two British talents in Mark Haskins and Winter, PWInsider.com reports. The organization released Haskins from his contract and opted not to renew the former Women’s Knockout Champion’s deal after it expired last week. Both individuals have been removed from the company website’s roster page, thus confirming their respective departures.

Haskins had not appeared for the promotion since a January 2012 Impact Wrestling taping in his home country where he lost to Austin Aries in an X Division Championship Match. During the match, Haskins suffered a concussion and a neck injury, rendering him inactive for several months.

Winter’s official fansite, K-Waters.net, first announced last week that she had parted ways with the company. The website stated, “Just wanted to make an update and let everyone know Kat’s contract with TNA is officially up! Which means she is free to do DVDs, bookings, iPPVs, and whatever else! If interested please send emails to [email protected].”

– During Thursday’s episode of Impact Wrestling, former WWE Superstar Carlito joked on Twitter that TNA should favor Rob Terry and his ilk over wrestlers of the X Division.

“This TNA Xdivision should be eliminated! Nobody wants to see entertaining lil athletic wrestlers that can actually wrestle anymore!” he wrote. “We should start a petition to get rob terry a mega push! All he needs is another layer of fake tanner & 20 oz more of baby oil! C’mon TNA!”

Bret Hart Talks About Punching Out Vince In 1997 & WWE Wasting Good Talent

25

WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart spoke with Rob McNichol of the UK Sun this week about his return to Montreal on Monday for RAW and WWE wasting great talent by focusing on making them “television stars” instead of world class pro wrestlers. Here’s what the Hit Man said about:

Returning To Montreal After The Montreal Screwjob: “It was a big night,” Hart said. “I knew it was going to be, because any time I’ve gone back to Montreal for anything, it’s always been emotional. It was fitting, going full circle. I think it was important to do. I think it was more important than WWE or anyone realized.

“I think when they called me it was more to be there for Pat Patterson Appreciation Night than anything else — I love Pat and I’m a big fan of his — but it had more significance to me than that. The Montreal Screwjob was a famous, historical meltdown that in a lot of ways was my finest hour.

“WWE failed me on that day and buried the knife as far as they could. I think the little fisticuffs that happened afterwards with Vince was my finest hour. It’s not so much the physicality of it, but more that I stood my ground as a Canadian and as a professional.

“That reaction from the fans told me that I did do the right thing. These people wouldn’t feel the way they do right now and have that emotion 15 years later if I had done the wrong thing that day.

WWE Wasting Quality Talent: “They have some great wrestlers, and Tyson Kidd is as schooled as they get. Technically and mentally – as far as wrestling psychology, moves, timing – Tyson Kidd is maybe one of the best in the world,” Hart said. “There are a lot of wrestlers in that company that have not been used properly. Brodus Clay is a guy that when I first saw how he moved and how skilled he was as a big 300-pounder, and now I see him with the girls and he’s just a cartoon character. Whoever thought of that should be taken out the back and shot.
