Taliban Uses Former WWE Diva’s Photos To Lure Aussie Troops Into Giving Away Military Secrets

20

Taliban insurgents are posing as “attractive women” on Facebook to befriend Australian soldiers and gather intelligence about operations. There is a wrestling tie as one of the accounts the militant group created features photos of former WWE Diva Maria Kanellis.

PCWorld.com has posted an article on the matter, which features a screenshot of a phony Facebook profile with an image of Kanellis displayed.

The tech-savvy Taliban are using these fake profiles to befriend Australian soldiers and gather information based on their Facebook updates. The social networking website features a geo-tagging function, which logs the location from which posts are made. If a soldier posts something while they’re in the field, their location is revealed.

Three Australian soldiers were murdered inside their base month, allegedly by an Afghan Army trainee.

Many soldiers did not realize that people using fake profiles can capture information and movements, according to the Australian Government’s review of social media and defense. The review found an “overt reliance” on privacy settings had led to “a false sense of security” among troops.

Australian soldiers are being given pre-deployment briefings on the matter and the Australian Department of Defence is currently working on new social media guidelines.

Unfortunately, the results won’t be in until in the morning. I appreciate all the calls, texts, tweets, & Facebook messages of support & I know Jerry will too. Thanks everybody!!”

Wade Barrett Interview – New Aggressive Wrestling Style, Missing WrestleMania

10

Promoting tonight’s SmackDown taping at Scotiabank Place in Ottawa, Ontario, Wade Barrett addressed his hiatus from the squared circle due to injury, which coincided with WrestleMania XXVIII.

“(Being away from WWE) takes you out of the goldfish bowl and you’re able to look at the aspects of your own work. You can critique yourself,” said Barrett. “There’s a saying that it’s never a good time to get injured. We were four weeks from Wrestlemania. It was very disappointing. It’s a huge relief to get back on TV. I’ve been doing live events for the last four weeks. But it was great to get back under the cameras and bright lights.”

Now that he’s back, fans can look for a more aggressive version of Barrett after his character was depicted as having returning from the underground arena of bare-knuckle fighting.

“I’m going to be doing things to entertain myself. It’s a new style. There’s a lot more brawling, a lot more strikes,” said Barrett. “I’ve always been a fairly physical guy. You just have to look at my nose to see what kind of lifestyle I led … sports and fisticuffs. I’m a contact kind of guy. Ninety-nine percent of the time, I’m pretty laid back and relaxed, but I can get very intense quickly. I think it’s inevitable if you’ve been off the road and injured that you build up anger – things that I have to get out of my system.”

– Lawler wrestled both Friday and Saturday nights in Aruba before heading back to the States and flying to Montreal for RAW on Monday.

Hart Family Member Says Jerry Lawler Was “Clinically Dead” For Twenty Minutes

52

Smith Hart, brother of WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart, says he was told by a friend backstage at Monday’s Raw at Centre Bell in Montreal, Quebec, Canada that Jerry Lawler was “clinically dead” for twenty minutes before being revived by a defibrillator.

He wrote on Twitter, “According to my friend Jeremy Prophet who was backstage at RAW, Jerry was clinically dead for 20 min before being brought back by defibrilat.”

According to the Sudden Cardiac Arrest Foundation, clinical death is the medical term for cessation of blood circulation and breathing, which are two necessary criteria to sustain life. This occurs when the heart stops beating in a regular rhythm and is also known as cardiac arrest.

Hart noted that “it has been confirmed that Jerry did suffer a heart attack.” Since medical personnel were at ringside, Lawler was able to receive immediate treatment.

According to Wrestling Observer editor Dave Meltzer, Lawler remains in stable condition. He is breathing on his own and his heart is beating on its own, but is considered not out of danger.

Jerry Lawler Believed To Have Suffered Heart Attack Or Stroke During Live Raw

17

WWE broadcaster and wrestler Jerry “The King” Lawler is believed to have suffered a heart attack or stroke when he collapsed ringside during Monday night’s live episode of Raw.

Alex Marvez reported Monday night on FoxSports.com following the show: “A source told FoxSports.com that it’s believed Lawler suffered a stroke or heart attack, with the former being the most likely. The fact medical personnel were at ringside allowed Lawler to receive immediate treatment, the source said.”

According to Bryan Alvarez of Figure Four Weekly and Wrestling Observer, talent were told by WWE officials that Lawler likely suffered a heart attack.

Lawler, who had participated in a tag team match alongside Randy Orton earlier in the show, collapsed at the announcer’s table while commentating the tag team match featuring Daniel Bryan and Kane vs. Darren Young and Titus O’Neil and was taken away on a stretcher. He received CPR backstage at Centre Bell in Montreal, Quebec, Canada and was then admitted to an area hospital. Cole stated at 10:55 p.m. EST that Lawler appeared more responsive and was reacting to the lights in his eyes.

As the broadcast concluded at 11:14 p.m. EST, Cole stated that Lawler’s condition had stabilized. “He is breathing on his own. His heart is beating on its own,” said Cole. He also noted that he was being prepared for a CAT scan of his chest and head.

Lawler’s longtime broadcast partner Jim Ross subsequently tweeted at 11:58 p.m., “No updates on the King. Hospitalized in Montreal. Tests being done. Going to be a long night here in Okla. Wish I was in Montreal. Pray.”
