World Hwt. Title Match Announced For TLC (12/18)

16

The first match has been announced for WWE’s upcoming Tables, Ladders & Chairs pay-per-view on Sunday, December 18th – and it’s going to be another war between WWE’s two largest superstars.

The Big Show will get another shot at Mark Henry’s World Heavyweight championship.

The match stipulation will be added in the weeks ahead.

The match match was made official after Henry retained the World title over Daniel Bryan in a steel cage match on Tuesday’s live Smackdown episode.

Mick Foley Talks WWE Return, WM28 Match & More

15

Hardcore legend Mick Foley was a guest on this week’s Monday Night Mayhem radio show.

Mick Foley Discusses His Long-Awaited WWE Return, The Impact That “Stone Cold” Steve Austin & The Rock Had On Him Wanting To Come Back, Being A Part Of “RAW Gets Rocked” & SmackDown’s Live Holiday Special, Which WWE Superstars He Has Had The Chance To Interact With/Focus On The Most Thus Far Since Rejoining The WWE, Collaborating With THQ As Part Of “WWE ’12″/Being Featured As Part Of The Game’s DLC Content, Whether He Sees Himself Performing At/Or Being Part Of WrestleMania XXVIII In Miami, Why He Believes His Character Is Appreciated By Wrestling Fans After All These Years, Whether Or Not He Has Been Surprised At How Quickly His Stand-Up Comedy Has Taken Off, Why He Holds A Special Place In His Heart For The City Of Buffalo After Meeting The Late Tim Russert (Of NBC’s “Meet The Press”) Prior To His Passing, Plus Much More.

You can listen to an MP3 of Foley appearance by clicking here.

Here are some highlights of what Mick Foley said about:

His thoughts about returning to WWE television earlier this month, as part of “RAW Gets Rocked”: “I was in negotiations with the WWE, and I said ‘Look, I’ll come back on one condition…I want to be in a really bad segment. Like historically bad. I want to have people talking about how bad this segment will be years from now.’ I think there’s no doubt that we did that (in Boston). One of the worst segments of all-time. I thought it was fun, even though a few people didn’t see the point in me coming back after such a long time to be involved in something like that, but I think it was great.

Which three WWE Superstars he has the chance to interact with and focus on the most thus far since coming back to the WWE: “I will say when I got in the ring with The Miz, there was an immediate chemistry. He’s very good at what he does. He’s perhaps the best jerk in the business, which is a tribute. Right now, I’m watching Dolph Ziggler in the ring. To me, he’s underrated in the sense that he’s right on the verge of being recognized as a superstar, but I believe his matches have been so good that when he gets a chance to turn that page, he will have the credibility to pull that off. Watching Zack Ryder’s rise to stardom is a of fun, because you could see how elated he is.”

Whether you can expect to see him perform at and/or be a part of WrestleMania XXVIII at Sun Life Stadium in Miami, FL: “I think I better buy a ticket if I want to get in this WrestleMania. Everyone wants that big spot, and traditionally, even my biggest match of the decade has been with Randy Orton, the match after WrestleMania. The guys who have been carrying the company should have that spot on the biggest night. I’m going to try to get into some semblance of condition, just to if the fates are kind and decide that I should be a part of that show.”

Cage Match After SmackDown, More Live Notes

14
Live notes from Tuesday's Live SmackDown Special

After Tuesday’s live SmackDown special went off the air, Teddy Long came out and announced that Mark Henry would defend the World Heavyweight Championship against Randy Orton in a second cage match. Henry defeated Orton in a short match after Wade Barrett distracted Orton. Orton nailed Barrett with an RKO to end the show.

SEScoops.com reader Daniel Wells was at SmackDown and sent in the following live notes from the show. He noted that overall it was a great time, but said the absence of WWE’s most over stars (John Cena, CM Punk and .. Zack Ryder) took away some of the enjoyment.

-Entire upper deck was tarped off. 2 years ago when Raw was here, the entire arena was filled. Not sure if Smackdown being the ‘B’ show it draws a smaller crowd, or the economy is tough, or if people just attend less events.

-Tons of kids. Lots of Cena, Punk shirts and some Ryder merch floating around. Although, no Ryder merch was for sale at the venders. Sin Cara masks and shirts for sale even though he is hurt.

-Several “We Want Ryder” chants throughout the night.

-NXT and Superstars were taped. Nothing much to report. Took a while for crowd to get into it. Ted Dibiase’s presence on Superstars helped warm the crowd a bit.

-Surprisingly, Mick Foley didn’t receive a huge pop when we made his way out to start Smackdown. That may have been because he didn’t come out to his theme music, and young kids don’t know him well. Once he got in the ring, the crowd got more into him.

-Cody Rhodes had GOOD heat.

-Kofi Kingston had a huge pop. Probably because he was the first major face to make an appearance in the ring. People were into him.

-Orton had biggest pop of the night, no surprise. I for one thought he did a good job making a PG street fight with a cartoonish setting be entertaining. He has good charisma and personality, contra what some IWC critics claim.

-Sheamus didn’t get quite the reaction I thought he would get. But that may have been because his music was low and his Titantron video seemed off.

-Hornswoggle winning made kids happy but adults ticked. The bit at the end between Sheamus and Hornswoggle went too long for the crowd’s taste.

-Daniel Bryan’s reaction wasn’t very positive, at least at first. When they showed his picture on the Titantron you had some cheers (not very loud) and a trail of booos. Even some kids were boo’ing him His entrance for the main event had a minimal reaction (less than Kofi Kingston). During the match, some Daniel Bryan cheers were started (even if small). Not sure if his lack of TV time or his blunder last week had anything to do with it.

Trish Stratus, Lilian Garcia & Maria React To Sin Cara T-Shirt

7

During AfterBuzzTV.com’s post-show for Raw, the topic of WWE’s questionable Sin Cara T-Shirt was brought to the attention of hosts Lilian Garcia and Maria Kanellis, as well as studio guest Trish Stratus. Stratus and Garcia were aghast over the shirt while Kanellis thought it was hysterical.

“I am not Stratusfied,” Stratus said upon seeing an image of the shirt on a smart phone. This is then followed by numerous double entendres on the part of the seven-time WWE Women’s Champion—who is known to have a dirty sense of humor—and the hosts.

WWEShop.com pulled the shirt Sunday, less than 24 hours after it was released. The shirt featured the shape of a phallus embedded in a gold design. No one within WWE knows how the product made its way through several approval stages before being put up for sale. According to people who ordered the T-Shirt during the few hours it was available, they were notified that their order would not be processed and would have the option of receiving credit or a full refund.

Triple H vs. Nash, Backstage RAW News, Punk & Ziggler Notes

20
Kevin Nash Destroys Triple H Backstage at RAW on 10/24

– As of this weekend, there’s been talk of pushing off the Triple H vs. Kevin Nash match to January’s Royal Rumble show.

The match had originally been planned for Survivor Series, then for TLC in December. Triple H was backstage at RAW (as he usually is), Nash was not.

– Once again, Monday’s RAW from South Carolina was re-written several times on the of the show. WWE Hall of Famer Mae Young was backstage at RAW but was not used on television after her segment was scrapped due to rewrites. Mae did however film a backstage segment with Zack Ryder and Eve Torres for the WWE website. The segment, which you can view here, featured Ryder getting Eve to sign his petition for a US title shot. Mae walks up and fist pumps with Ryder.

As of Monday afternoon, Brodus Clay was expected to wrestle John Morrison – but it was decided at the last minute that Morrison’s final WWE match would be against his former tag team partner, The Miz.

– A few trivia notes coming out of last week’s Survivor Series pay-per-view .. CM Punk’s WWE Title win over Alberto Del Rio in Madison Square Garden was the first WWE Title change in the building since the 2002 Survivor Series when Big Show won the belt from Brock Lesnar.

Dolph Ziggler doing double duty at WWE’s Survivor Series and Vengeance makes him only the second person in history to do that on back-to-back pay-per-views. The first was Bret Hart, who wrestled three times at the 1993 King of the Ring and then twice at SummerSlam.

Jeff Hardy's 9/11/10 Mugshot Picture

During a podcast interview with Rob McNichol for the UK Sun website, TNA star Mr. Anderson talks about Jeff Hardy’s personal and legal troubles. Anderson sympathizes with Hardy, saying every makes mistakes and deserves another chance. Anderson said:

“A guy like Jeff Hardy, regardless of what you think about him personally, is a tremendous entertainer. He loves this business and gives his all to this business.“Everybody makes mistakes, everybody does stupid stuff. I’m not trying to make excuses for anybody, but when you’ve had the career that he’s had and done the things that he’s done, you’re bound to make mistakes.

“When you do make mistakes people are going to look at it with a magnifying glass and amplify it and make it bigger than it actually is.

“I think he’s done a great job of overcoming that and recognizing ‘I did this. This is my problem. How do I fix it so that I don’t do it again? How do I move forward?’ He’s done all those things.

“I have no judgments about Jeff Hardy other than the fact that he is a great performer and a hell of a guy.”
