J.R. Comments On McCool Leaving WWE, Christian’s Win & More

10

Jim Ross posted a blog entry today on his official website, www.jrsbarbq.com. Highlights are as follows:

His health following Extreme Rules: “Very sore today. Broken right hand is hurting. Iced it before going to bed to reduce swelling. Certainly not using the hand as an excuse for losing because I pretty much forgot about it once the ‘match’ started. Bowling shoe ugly bout w/o question. Did the best we could w/ 2 non wrestlers in a tag match.”

Michelle McCool’s departure from WWE: “Sorry to see Michelle McCool leave WWE. She’s an example of what intelligently approaching ones craft will do for you. Michelle evolved into a skilled performer via hard work. Perhaps I’ll see her when her alma mater, Florida State University, hosts Oklahoma in college football this September. Michelle is a gifted athlete and will be missed.”

Christian winning the World Heavyweight Championship: “Really happy for Christian’s success in winning World Heavyweight Title. Christian was ‘due’ and is one of the more underrated performers in WWE and has been for a good while.”

R-Truth’s performance at Extreme Rules: “R-Truth has begun to distinguish himself and had an impactful cameo at Extreme Rules. Again, the key issue here is for Truth to contiune to take advantage of the moment. The door is open, so to speak, and hopefully Truth will walk through it to the next level. An interesting story to follow.”

Kharma’s debut at Extreme Rules: “Enjoyed Kharma’s debut at Extreme Rules. She can potentially be a huge attraction for WWE. She’s different and special. Curious to see where she goes from here. I personally expect great things from her.”

April Hunter Explains Why She Turned Down TNA Contract Offer

12

— April Hunter, who has competed on the independent wrestling scene for numerous years, was offered a contract by TNA Wrestling in 2009. She explained why she declined their contract offer in an interview with www.f4wonline.com.

“First off, I do like the people there and enjoy the locker room and backstage. It’s a fun company. But there were a few issues,” she said.

“The money wasn’t more than I’m offered on the indies. However, the main issue was they asked me to sign a waiver clearing them of any future medical issues, and that I had to get cleared by my own doctor first. I knew of two other girls fighting with them to get their medical bills paid at that point and I wasn’t comfortable with the idea after all the injuries I’ve already been through. I know how easy it is to get hurt and I also know they like to suggest certain high risk moves at times. That is what royally screwed up a match I had with Desire years ago. TNA management put the match together using moves that neither one of us were comfortable or familiar with. So, I said no.

“I’d never rule them out if they change their policies, but for now, I don’t think it’s for me.”

— TNA Wrestling is back on the road on tour starting this Thursday in Joplin, Missouri, followed by events in Fort Smith and Hot Springs, Arkansas.

— Shawn Daivari, who competed in a pre-iMPACT! dark match last month, filmed scenes for a documentary at the television taping.

McCool was introduced to the WWE audience in 2004 as a competitor in the inaugural Diva Search. Although the former school teacher lost the competition, WWE signed her to a contract in November of that year. She had been wrestling ever since.

“I’ve been doing this for six years now. Love me or hate me, I hope the WWE Universe can respect that night in and night out, I’ve given it my all,” McCool tearfully said. “This is definitely emotional, and I’m sure it’ll be like that for awhile.”

While McCool hopes to see her fans again, it won’t be in the ring.

“Thank you for the love and the hate. Thank you for being you and for watching. Hopefully I’ll see you around – not in the ring – but maybe someday.”

Michelle McCool Loses Loser Leaves WWE Match, Kharma Debuts

26

Michelle McCool was written off WWE programming tonight at Extreme Rules as she lost an emotionally-charged Loser Leaves WWE Match to Layla.

After apologizing to the Divas locker room, Layla turned her recent streak of losses around when the Diva Search winner had to fight to stay in WWE. The No-Disqualification, No Count-out Match concluded with Layla countering McCool’s attempt at Faithbreaker with a crucifix pin.

While McCool broke down in tears alone in the ring, the wrestler formerly known as Awesome Kong emerged. Upon entering the ring, Kharma grasped McCool and delivered a implant buster butterfly suplex. Backstage, the Divas echoed concern over Kharma’s debut. Similarly to Hugh Morrus, Kharma switched between maniacal laughter and seriousness.

Steiner Comments On Return To TNA, Working With Morgan

15

Monday Night Mayhem with Scott Steiner
Hosts: The Big Mosh and “The Chairman of the Board” Todd Vincent
Airs every Monday at 6:00 P.M. (CT)
Show available at www.MondayNightMayhem.com.

His feelings on returning to TNA after an eleven-month absence: “Part of the reason was I don’t know why I left. That was not my decision, and obviously they brought me back to bring the ratings back. Now I’m here, and we can go out there and prove that I’m still the best.”

Why he believes Matt Morgan’s collegiate and basketball backgrounds will not help him when “Big Poppa Pump” and “The Blueprint” square off soon: “I tired to look up his (Matt’s) profile on the computer and saw Monmouth College somewhere in the cesspools of New Jersey. I never heard of that. And supposedly Chaminade, where they somehow made it to the NCAA Tournament, where he played a couple of minutes. Fans are going to be deeply disappointed when it comes down to athletic ability, because he says he’s trying to follow in my footsteps. You can’t follow in my footsteps. So he plays with little balls and puts them in the holes. That’s not going to help his ass when he gets in the ring.”

What fans can expect at CWI’s “Brawl at the Bush II” event in Brantford, Ontario, Canada (headlined by his CWI Title defense vs. Kevin Nash and a special appearance by Hulk Hogan): “It’s going to be a great event. There’s going to be a lot of stars there. Of course I have to go against Kevin Nash, which will be a hard-fought match. Hulk Hogan’s going to be there, so anybody who’s a wrestling fan should enjoy the show.

Stevie Richards Explains Why He Left TNA, Discusses Final Days

7

Interview available at WorldWrestlingInsanity.com via ClubWWI.

Stevie Richards has had the distinction of wrestling in every major wrestling company. WWE, WCW, TNA, and ECW have all been home to Richards and he’s created memories wherever he’s worked. His most recent run with TNA as Dr. Stevie just came to an end recently. Richards, who left with no hard feelings but rather decided to depart for business reasons, tells James Guttman on ClubWWI.com about that decision. Initially, he was excited about working as a new character and the opportunities it presented.

“Here’s Dr. Stevie with the promise of, ‘If you work hard, get over, you establish yourself, and mesh into the locker room, then you’ll be rewarded. We’ll renegotiate your deal and all this stuff will happen.’ Then (TNA) turned around and says, ‘Oh. You’re lucky to be getting what you’re getting.’ Then (they have me) never come to work, never get booked, sat at home, and it’s all these things. Like I said, it comes right down to it being a business decision.”

When the final day of his TNA run came about, Richards made sure to leave respectfully. He showed up in person to inform the office about his departure. ?”I walked in on January 11th and a lot of people don’t do this. They wait for that call in wrestling – whether it’s to wait for that call to get a job or to wait for that call to lose a job. What I did was, I prayed about it, I thought about it, and I said to myself, ‘You know what? Today I’m going to make something happen. I’m going to control my destiny rather than waiting for something to happen.’

“So I went in that day and I told (the office). Terry Taylor wasn’t shocked because I talk to him all the time. But everybody else seemed shocked. And I said, ‘Well, you guys booked me and then you sent me home for five months.’ We don’t get paid if we don’t work, at the level I was at. So what am I supposed to do? In reality, with a business or a job, you don’t go into Best Buy and they say, ‘We don’t have anything for you’ every single day for five months. What are you gonna do? You find another job, right?”

Stevie spoke about his thoughts on TNA’s product, direction, pros, and cons throughout his one hour ClubWWI interview. He also spoke about moments from his entire career. Perhaps one of his most memorable times in wrestling came during his stint as the tie-wearing Right To Censor leader. Guttman mentions other former RTC members Bull Buchanan and Ivory having hosted shows on ClubWWI and the questions many fans had always had about why the stable never reunited. As one of WWE’s most hated heel groups, fans expected some sort of resurrection, but it never materialized. Richards reveals what he felt was behind the choice to keep the group dead and buried. As always, it’s politics…

“What I hear, and what I kind of guessed, is that Jamie Mars used to write and he wrote a lot of material. He and Brian Gewirtz, who is still a head writer at WWE, I don’t think they got along too well. And it wasn’t Brian Gewirtz’s project to write the promos or anything and it seemed like when Jamie Mars left, it spelled the end for Right To Censor.”

Stevie continued throughout the interview to discuss everything in his wrestling career from Raven to apprehension about the debut of RTC to Stevie Night Heat. But he also urged ClubWWI.com members to check out his T4 Tech Show online. At T4show.com, Richards (under his real name of Michael Manna) looks at all the latest technology on the market and gives some expert views on what’s worth purchasing.

“We cover everything in technology. I know there’s a big gaming audience that you have here. We’re big video game fans. We do a lot of recording, stream video games, and also review them. The brand new redesigned T4show.com has a lot of video game reviews with a three point rating system and I invite everyone to come look at it if you’re a fan of fitness, if you’re a fan of tech, Apple – especially Apple, we’re big Apple Fanboys – and video games.”

Remember Stevie’s 62 minute shoot is just one of thousands of hours of audio featuring hundreds of wrestling stars available the moment you sign up to ClubWWI.com. From Paul Roma to Jerry Lawler to Mae Young to Sean Mooney, you can hear them all right now!

*Spoiler* Loser Leaves WWE Match Scheduled For Extreme Rules

23

A match between Michelle McCool and Layla that airs on tonight’s episode of SmackDown ends in a no contest due to incessant brawling between the former tag team partners. They are eventually separated by officials.

Layla then grabs the microphone and tells McCool she’s sick of her. She challenges her to a match at Extreme Rules, with no disqualification and no count out. McCool says she will only accept the challenge if it’s a Loser Leaves SmackDown Match since she no longer has any use for her.

Though McCool announced the bout as a Loser Leaves SmackDown Match at Tuesday’s SmackDown taping in Greensboro, North Carolina, “WWE” is overdubbed in placed of “Smackdown” during the telecast, which has already aired in Australia.

Therefore, Michelle McCool vs. Layla at Extreme Rules will be a Loser Leaves WWE Match.
