*SPOILERS* WWE SmackDown Tapings Results For Tonight

16

WWE Smackdown (Airing Tonight)

Randy orton kicked off the show. Before he could get going, Christian interrupted. Christian congratulated orton for their match on Sunday. Then he said the match could have gone either way. He issued a challenge, but Sheamus interrupted. And then Mark Henry interrupted the interruption.

We get some GM action with Teddy Long, who mentioned it was deja vu with the same guys arguing about the world title. Long said Christian will have to earn the title shot by booking a Triple Threat between Henry, Sheamus, and Christian for tonight.

Sin Cara beat Chavo Guerrero. Sin Cara came out to a huge pop for the Over The Limit rematch. The mood lighting was in full effect. Sin Cara won after the head-scissors takedown.

Cody Rhodes came out and the brown bag crew followed closely behind. He cut a quick promo about how unattractive the crowd was. I can’t fault him for that one. Daniel Bryan interrupted and received a bigger pop than Sin Cara did.

Daniel Bryan defeated Cody Rhodes. Bryan won the match with the LeBell Lock. Cody jumped Bryan after the match. He tagged him with CrossRhodes on the floor and then gave him the brown bag treatment.

They threw to the idiotic Capitol Punishment video.

Booker T entered the ring after a great Tribute to the Troops video. He “invites” Michael Cole to step into the ring. Coke obliged. Book reminded us of Cole’s loss at the pay-per-view. He was shocked at Cole’s apology, and gave him big props. He wanted to give Cole a chance to apologize again to the Smackdown audience. Booker short-armed the handshake and showed the picture of Cole with King’s foot in his mouth. Booker presented him with some Altoids.

Backstage interview with Christian, who talked about how he was always the last kid picked but made the most of it and proved everyone wrong.

Kane beat Great Khali (w/Ranjin Singh). Khali wasn’t dancing, but his brother was. Kane’s pyro knocked the Tron out of whack, its vertical hold was messed up. Total bumps for Khali: one! Jinder Mahal came out after the match. He spoke in his native tongue and then then shoved Singh. Khali came to Ranjin’s defense only to crush his head. Jinder and Khali left together.

Ezekiel Jackson defeated Heath Slater by DQ. Zeke dominated the match and had Slater in the Torture Rack until other Corre members ran in for the DQ. Zeke fought them off. Wade Barrett did not enter the ring.

Backstage with Sheamus. He spoke about how he achieved in a few months what took Henry and Christian their whole lives to accomplish.

Alicia Fox and Tamina defeated A.J. and Kaitlyn (w/Natalya). The Slam of the Week featured Kharma crying on Raw. Ugh. Natalya came out with A.J. and Kaitly, and entered to her music. Alicia pinned Kaitlyn after an axe kick. No Kharma. Boo!!!

Sheamus beat Christian and Mark Henry.Sheamus won in a three-way match to become #1 contender to the World Title.

Cena Talks About His Character, Attitude Era, Andre & More

17

Here are some highlights of what WWE Champion John Cena spoke about during a recent interview with Boston.com:

His character: “I don’t market myself as the coolest guy out there or the most edgy guy out there. Sports and entertainment have become such a business of branding. You have a lot of people watching your every action, and I’m proud of that. I take a lot of pride in how I present myself.”

The Attitude Era: “The Attitude Era was when the fans became teens. The Attitude Era was really generation-specific. I’m not taking anything away from that — it was 18-to-35-year-old males, and now we’re a broader audience, really more like it was in the ’80s.”

WWE’s All Stars Video Game & Andre the Giant: “The game is unreal. If you just look at the timeline; those people loved the WWE, and they are my age and a little bit older, and they are starting to have family, and all of those young kids are getting interested in the program. He (Andre the Giant) made such an impression on me. He is the one guy that I would have loved to show what I could do.”

Reid Flair Says He Wants To Work For WWE Over TNA

10

Ric Flair’s son Reid Flair appeared on the Hit the Ropes radio show on Wednesday and spoke about the possibility of following in his father’s footsteps and becoming a pro wrestler.

Check Out: Reid Flair’s Mugshot Pictures

Despite the fact that Reid’s father works for TNA, the second generation wrestler’s ultimate goal is to make it to what he calls “the big time” – WWE.

“No, I have not ruled out TNA. I respect the guys that are there. I respect the people in management and stuff like that. My dream since I was five years old was to work for the WWE and that’s my goal.”

Reid acknowledges that working for TNA has its benefits, but his perception of the company is similar to the reputation that TNA has earned in recent years – which is that TNA is where “established” wrestlers go after they’ve been in WWE.

“I think for people who are already established as stars, TNA is a great place to go. But me being a young kid and stuff like that, not having established myself, I think that sometimes the younger guys may be misrepresented and stuff in TNA. And I’m not saying anything malicious about TNA, WWE is just where I want to be. That’s my goal. WWE is the big time and I want to be with the best.”

Beer Money Storyline Plans, Abyss Makes History & More

– Employees at Universal Studios, home of TNA’s Impact Zone, are cracking down on the usage of cellphones at TNA television tapings.

Universal has been threatening fans in recent weeks that they will be kicked out of the building if they are suspected of texting spoilers to websites.

The new policy is said to be mandated by Universal Studios, not TNA.

Eric Bischoff Talks Savage, Changes In TNA, ROH & More

12

TNA’s Eric Bischoff was one of the featured guests on this week’s live edition of the award-winning Monday Night Mayhem

During the interview, bischoff talked about: Whether Or Not He Sees Ring Of Honor As Direct Competition To TNA After The Acquisition Of ROH By Sinclair Broadcasting, The Chances Of Seeing Him Take On Increased Duties Within TNA After The Departure Of Terry Taylor, What He Currently Sees In The X-Division That Should Give Fans Hope For The Future Of The Division, The Development Of Karen Jarrett’s On-Air Persona (And If It’s Too Early To Start Comparing Her To Vickie Guerrero), Chyna’s Return To The Ring, Plus Much More In The Return Of “The Hot Seat With Eric Bischoff” (Flavored By Sizzlin Sauces).

You can listen to an MP3 of the entire interview by clicking here.

Interview highlights courtesy of Paterson, MNM’s associate producer & official correspondent:

His reaction to the passing of Randy Savage & how he will remember “The Macho Man”: “It hit me pretty hard, and it’s still hitting me now. He was a very private individual and kind of kept to himself, and I respected that. As more information comes out the more I see it, it still shocks me, and it’s hard to believe that Randy is not with us.”

The transition from iMPACT into iMPACT Wrestling & why he believes now is the perfect time to make changes to the television program itself: “Last week, a lot of the changes you saw were cosmetic. Graphics, lighting, staging, and that sort of thing, which was part of the plan. I think anyone who had any expectations that all of sudden iMPACT Wrestling was going to be a completely different show, probably had misaligned expectations. We are going to try & improve the show in many different ways in what you are going to see throughout the summer and going into the fall. It’s a great time of year to experiment with format and experiment with different elements of the show. You’ll see those changes. Some will noticeable, and others won’t be.”

Whether or not he sees Ring of Honor as more of a direct competition to TNA, after the acquisition of ROH by Sinclair Broadcasting: “I know I am going to get a lot of heat for what I’m about to tell you, and I’ve got nothing against anybody at Ring of Honor. In fact I wish them all the best. I’m reading a lot of stuff people are writing, and I think they are kidding themselves. Sinclair is 22 television stations, however many it is, that has a 22% market penetration in the United States. 22% market penetration in the United States means you don’t exist from an advertisers point of view. 22% means Nielsen doesn’t even track you as a network, and that’s assuming they get distribution on all 22 of those stations, which isn’t guaranteed. So while I think it’s a great thing for ROH because at least they have something, I think the enthusiasm of the fact that it’s a network, people are getting excited over a lot of nothing.”

If he has ever been a fan of short title reigns (coming off the fan fallout after Christian losing the World Heavyweight Championship to Randy Orton, just days after winning the title): “It all goes back to story. What’s the circumstances? What’s the context? Where’s it going? There’s not a simple formula to answer that question. Generally speaking, short title reigns tend to be risky, because your audience never really has a chance to grasp it and to get embedded into it one way or the other.”

TNA Star Takes Up Smoking To Lose Weight, More On Dreamer

29

— Tammy Sytch stated on her Facebook account Tuesday that a performer for TNA Wrestling recently took up smoking due to pressure from management to lose weight.

She wrote, “A TNA performer started the unhealthy habit of smoking, under pressure from management to lose weight… great business practices by TNA!!! Good job! I smell lawsuit!”

Sytch added further: “It’s not a story…it was something directly told to me from this person…and no, I’m not giving up any names.”

— Regarding the report of Tommy Dreamer’s contract with TNA Wrestling expiring next month, it is true. He reveals in a newly published interview with The Wrestler that TNA wanted him to sign two-year deal last year, but he only wanted it to be for one year. He also said he’s “happy” with TNA.

Dreamer debuted on June 13, 2010 at Slammiversary.

Kevin Nash Wants A Match With Big Show At SummerSlam

22

In a new interview with John Pollock of The Fight Network, WWE legend Kevin Nash says he is hoping for a match against the Big Show at SummerSlam.

Nash revealed that there were talks of him having some kind of match with Big Sho at WrestleMania, but acknowledged that it wouldn’t have been fair for him to get a match on the show and take the spot of another young WWE star who worked all year to work their first WrestleMania.

Regarding his WWE return at the Royal Rumble earlier this year, Nash his brief few minutes as part of the Rumble was better  than anything that happened to him during his five years with TNA.

Nash also talked about WWE’s revamped developmental system and how he and other WWE legends like Shawn Michaels might get involved and help Triple H locate and groom the superstars of tomorrow.

“Million Dollar Man” Comments On The Death Of Randy Savage

2

WWE Hall of Famer “The Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase, a long time colleague of “Macho Man” Randy Savage, appeared on Monday Night Mayhem, which airs every Monday at 7:00 p.m. Highlights from his interview are as follows:

His reaction to Savage’s passing and how he always saw himself identifying with Randy throughout his career:

“I identified with Randy a lot. We both had a lot in common, in that we were both buys who grew up in this industry whose fathers were wrestlers. I’ve always believed that for kids who that grew up in the industry that it’s not just a job, but it’s something they fell in love with and something they’ve known all their lives. There’s a certain camaraderie there. In a word, Randy was charismatic. He’ll be very missed, and it’s sad.”

What he will personally and professionally remember the most about Randy, both inside and outside the ring:

“It was his professionalism. He was all business. He would laugh, and cut up, and have fun too, but for the most part, he was a consummate pro. He took his job and his work very seriously, and I always admired that. He was incredibly dedicated.”

Christian Talks About His Short Title Reign, Edge’s Retirement

4

Busted Open satellite radio show with Christian
Hosts: Dave LaGreca and Doug Mortman
Airs Mondays and Wednesdays on Sirius 92 and XM 207 from 2-4 ET
Visit Facebook.com/bustedopen for more information

Christian on his brief reign as World Heavyweight Champion and the fans outcry over the quick change: “Obviously, I kind of look at it two ways. There are very few people that ever have a chance to become World Heavyweight Champion. I did that, got a taste of it, I know what it takes to get to that point now and the way I look at it, I stay positive about it and I look forward to being able to call myself a two-time World Heavyweight Champion.”

“I was really surprised by the outpouring of all the stuff on Twitter, all those sorts of things. It was pretty surprising. I think a lot of it happened before…..obviously, the show is done on Tuesday and shown on Friday, so there are a lot of things people were going on hearsay before the show even aired, before they even saw it, so you kind of have to take that with a grain of salt.”

“I think Randy and I have great chemistry and going forward there should be some exciting times for myself. I look forward to the challenges, and like I said, I got a taste of being World Heavyweight Champion. I know what it takes to get there and I look forward to being the World Champion again`. I won’t stop until it happens.”

Christian on if it was bittersweet that he won the title after Edge was forced to vacate it: “Of course, it was a tough pill to swallow. He’s my best friend. We’ve known each other since we were in sixth grade. I knew that he was having issues with tingling and things like that in his arms. He had neck surgery years ago, so I think he realized that at some point, it may come back to bother him again at some point in his career. The day after Wrestlemania he went and had everything checked out and it turned out he had the spinal stenosis and the whole thing and he was in serious risk of permanent damage to himself. All it takes is a fall, or to do something one wrong way and the risk of paralysis was even there. Nothing is worth that type of risk.”

“He called me right after he got the news and obviously he was very upset about it. We got off the phone and I started thinking about it a little bit. I called him back and I said I understand why you’re upset, but you can look at it two ways. You can look at it that way or you can look at it this way. Your career has been amazing. There’s not many people that can say they had the type of career you had, done the things that you’ve done. You’ve always done things the way you wanted to do them. If this is it, your last match was at Wrestlemania in front of seventy thousand plus people in one of the main events, and you walked out as the World Heavyweight Champion. I said I don’t know if you can write a better ending to a script than that. And he’s like ‘Man, I didn’t even think about that.’, and right away I think he kind of felt better about it. It took him a couple days to kind of let it sink in, but that being said, he realizes there’s not much he can do about it now except look forward to the future.”

“None of us were expecting any of this to happen, it just happened and it’s one of those things where when you get a chance to step up, you gotta step up and I feel like I did.”

Christian one if he is more over now than he has ever been: “I think people know that every time I go out there, I leave it all in the ring, regardless. So I think there’s a certain respect with that and I think that’s just grown over the years because I feel like over the course of my career…..people know that I never take a night off. I’m out there every night working my butt off trying to do what I do, and that is entertain every single person that paid their hard earned money for a ticket. So I think people realize that and I think over time, I feel like that’s grown, definitely.”

WM27 Buyrate, WWE Manager Returns, Orton Travel Story

10

– WWE’s annual goal for WrestleMania is for the event to draw 1 million pay-per-view buys worldwide. According to the company’s official preliminary estimate, the show did 1,042,000 buys worldwide – so it appears The Rock’s involvement was enough to put them over the top.

– As reported here earlier this week, WWE is continuing its recent initiative to once again feature managers – with former WWE personality Armando Alejandro Estrada returning at Tuesday’s Superstars tapings from Spokane, WA and managing Tyson Kidd. Estrada reportedly met with WWE officials about a possible return several months ago when the company was touring in Long Island, NY.

– Randy Orton recently wrote on twitter about an embarrassing travel story. Apparently he sat down on what he believed to be his connecting flight to St. Louis, but then found out that the flight he was on was a flight to Fayetteville, NC and had to be escorted off his flight after alerting the flight crew.

Savage Requests That His Theme Music Not Be Played At Funeral

13

The body of the late Randy Savage was cremated Tuesday and his ashes were spread at the base of a tree at his Largo, Florida home, reports TMZ.com. In compliance with his final request, the family did not play his trademark wrestling theme music during the ceremony.

According to Randy’s brother Lanny Poffo, the wrestling legend adamantly requested that in his funeral plans, his theme music, Pomp and Circumstance, was not to be played while he was laid to rest.

New Details Surface On Savage’s Relationship With McMahon

19

Wrestling Observer editor Dave Meltzer stated today on F4WOnline.com that recent allegations made by WWE Hall of Famers George “The Animal” Steele and “Rowdy” Roddy Piper concerning Vince McMahon’s soured relationship with Randy Savage have nothing to do with the WWE chief’s animosity towards the late wrestler.

Piper alleged last Friday on Twitter that Savage slapped McMahon in a bar. Steele then suggested in an interview that McMahon held Savage in contempt for abruptly jumping to World Championship Wrestling in 1994 because he considered him “almost like a son.”

Steele said, “I think that what happened with Randy, when his career was winding down with the WWF, Vince McMahon just loved Randy. After all everything Randy had done and he took him under his wing, and he wanted Randy after the ring was over with for him, he wanted him to be our spokesperson. He was traveling with Vince all the time. Randy was almost like a son, they were really tight. And then one day, we were at a TV meeting, and we got word that Randy, without calling Vince, had left and jumped to the WCW. I had never seen Vince McMahon broken before, he was crushed. It hurt him big time and I don’t think he ever got over that. I think that’s the real problem to be honest with you.”

In late 1996, Savage’s contract with WCW had expired and he briefly negotiated with WWE regarding a possible return to the organization. Meltzer said that during this time frame, Vince McMahon told him he would take back Savage “with open arms,” but would “never ever” take Hulk Hogan back.

Meltzer then notes that McMahon’s animosity towards Savage during the final years of the wrestling legend’s life stemmed from an incident that occurred following 1996, or “something he found out.”

“Any explanation of why Vince hates Savage that has to do with something that Vince would have known pre-1996 is clearly balderdash,” Meltzer stated. “Either something post 1996, or something he found out after 1996.”

There is a long-standing rumor indicating that Savage was involved in a sexual relationship with McMahon’s daughter Stephanie during his final year in WWE, therefore explaining his animosity towards him (which McMahon learned years later). While the allegation has never been verified, Meltzer stated in March 2009 that top WWE officials believed the rumor to be true.

Meltzer said then, “I think that the reason is the same reason that everyone says. It’s the reason everyone in (WWE) says. It’s the reason that is the only one that makes any sense. So I think that’s the reason. I can’t come up with any other reason. I don’t know. I mean, I’ve heard that reason from so many people that are not internet rumormongers, I mean people who – all I know is that within the company as far as the top people, they all believe it, and nobody knows for sure, because it’s never brought up.

“When I first heard the story I didn’t believe it because I thought it was just some story, but then, and I mean even when people who are very high up in that company, after they left the company, would tell me that story I still didn’t believe it, but, you know, after a certain number of years when it’s just, you know, ideas are brought up for Randy Savage and the reaction – there’s something real, real bad because, let’s face it, I mean, I couldn’t count the number of times Vince said he would never do business with Hulk Hogan, and he always does. So, I don’t know…Actually, as time goes by, more people talk about it trying to say that it didn’t happen.”

McCool Interested In Joining “Tough Enough”, Names Highlights

14

Michelle McCool participated in a questionnaire with MichelleMcCool.net. She reveals whether she had any moments inside the ring that made her consider quitting, the most valuable lesson she learned on the road, how she would wind down after a match, and more.

When asked to to name her six highlights inside and out of the ring, she wrote:

“Oh goodness! 1.) First-ever Divas Champion. 2.) Becoming first to hold both the Women’s and Divas Championship. 3.) First unified Women’s Champion. 4.) 1/2 of first-ever Women’s Co-Champions. 5.) The formation of the ‘Flawless’ duo, “LayCool” 6.) And being in the first women’s TLC match!!! – Out of the ring, we are so fortunate to do so many things. Not just TV shows here and there (which have all been great), but life changing things (all the work with our troops, Make-A-Wish, school outreach, etc…) Blesses beyond words!”

The multi-time champion also indicated that she would like to train prospective WWE talent on Tough Enough.

“I really wish I were! Can y’all like, start a request or something? ;)

“Training under Bill DeMott for so many years, I’d like to think that he’d say I hung in there with the guys! I do think that most things can’t be taught, though. It’s hard to teach drive, it’s hard to teach respect (especially when it seems very common sense), it’s hard to teach the “never die” attitude, and it’s hard to teach passion. Even when you have these, it’s gonna be a long, hard road. However, I do know that I can teach them that if they want something bad enough, that they will have to fight for it day in and day out – no exceptions! I can also teach them that people are going to try to bring you down when they’re looking at you on top. Also, I could teach them that this is a business. A business where it’d be a lot more beneficial for so many (not to mention fun), to truly work together, and to try to create magic no matter what hand you’re dealt!”

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross is back with another blog update, which you can read in its entirety at JRsBarBQ.com. Here are some highlights of what JR said about:

R-Truth’s Recent Push :“R Truth seems to have finally found a viable niche and he is one of the brighter aspects on Raw. Truth is embracing his new persona and I happen to think it fits him well.”

Randy Savage In The WWE HOF: “I have no idea if or when Randy Savage will be inducted into the WWE HOF or if he will go in with his former wife and valet, the late Miss Elizabeth. As I have said many times, it is obvious that both are deserving.”

Alex Riley Attacking The Miz: “I was impressed with the interaction between Alex Riley and The Miz Monday night on Raw as was, seemingly, the live audience in Portland. I am intrigued to see where Riley on Smackdown, I assume, and Miz, continue to evolve. Riley looked very impressive doling out the physicality on Miz on MNR.”

Jeff Hardy’s Current Situation: “I have no definitive comments to make on the “Jeff Hardy incident’ as I don’t follow TNA that closely nor do I know the accurate details of the issues at hand for Jeff other than he has had a court case pending that has seemingly dragged on forever which means the legal meter has been running, one would assume, for weeks and weeks. I like Jeff, I signed both Jeff and his brother Matt to WWE contracts, and hope that any personal issues that he may have can be resolved sooner than later and for good.”

Hulk Hogan’s Legacy: “What will Hulk Hogan’s legacy be at the end of the day? I can’t see why it won’t be excellent. If Hogan is judged on his contributions to the business of pro wrestling then it’s a no brainer. Hulk’s legacy is intact IMO as I don’t choose to judge him or anyone else by personal issues that happen in many of our lives. ”

As always, we highly recommend you check out JR’s site and sample his amazing line of BBQ products, his BBQ sauce and main event mustard can be found in the fridge at SEScoops global headquarters at all times!
