*Spoiler* On Change To ‘Mania Match Following Injury Angle

10

As reported earlier, WWE conducted an injury angle at this morning’s WrestleMania Axxess affecting the Eight-Man Tag Team Match at WrestleMania XXVII featuring Big Show, Kane, Santino Marella and Vladimir Kozlov vs. Ezekiel Jackson, Heath Slater, Justin Gabriel and Wade Barrett.

Following Kozlov’s victory over Tyler Reks, The Corre attacked the Raw Superstar. The faction used the steel steps to crush The Moscow Mauler’s shoulder against the ring post.

WWE acknowledged the attack on the company website: “Twitter and YouTube has since erupted with photos and videos of the incident. The footage only serves to leave the WWE Universe wondering about Kozlov’s condition, or what condition he’ll be in for the Eight-Man Tag Team Match at WrestleMania.”

The angle will play out with Kozlov being removed from the Eight-Man Tag Team Match and replaced by Kofi Kingston. The announcement is not expected to made until the match takes place.

Kingston dropped the Intercontinental Championship to Barrett last week on Smackdown.

He added, “Do you ever find that you’re meanest to the people you love the most? If I ruined his chances of ending The Streak, I’m sure he’d beat the tar out of me at that moment, but I’m sure he’d forgive me eventually.”

WWE AXXESS Live Report: Match Results & Live Notes

SEScoops.com reader Marc attended the WrestleMania AXXESS fan fest in Atlanta on Thursday night and sent in this recap of the event ..

I went to Wrestlemania Axxess last night. It was my first time at Axxess and it was awesome with lots going on.

– The Usos fought Santino and Kozlov but I did not see the results.

– Daniel Bryan defeated Ted Dibiase (no surprise there).

– Hornswoggle did an in- ring appearance.

– The Diva photos booths had Gail Kim and Kaitlyn in the first session and Rosa Mendes and Laycool in the second session. All of the divas were very nice and personable.

– The talent I met that signed were Great Khali (cool guy), Chavo Guerrero (very talkative), Dolph Ziggler and Vickie Guerrero (both very nice), Sheamus (one of the most friendly and nicest wrestlers I’ve met), and Ezekiel Jackson, Heath Slater, and Justin Gabriel (all very cool).

– Other talent that signed were: Big Show, Pat Patterson, Chris Masters, Kofi Kingston, Jack Swagger, Michael Cole, Alberto Del Rio, Ricardo Rodriguez, John Morrison, Jimmy Hart, Sunny, and Hacksaw Jim Duggan. Randy Orton was also there signing for the VIPs.

All of the divas and talent were very cool and friendly to there fans. It was an amazing experience and I can’t wait until I go back tonight!

Sting Says He Rejected Offer To Face The Undertaker At WM27

54

Sting revealed in an interview with Daily Star that World Wrestling Entertainment officials approached and offered him a match with The Undertaker at WrestleMania XXVII, as well as induction into the WWE Hall of Fame.

He declined their offer.

“I wouldn’t say it was utter nonsense, that’s not true!” laughs Sting. “It’s a dream match that fans would want to see. It was close. I’m glad things turned out the way they did.

“There are so many variables. Let’s just say that I turned it down for the same reasons I always have. Something in me never trusted what would happen up there, based entirely on the track record with other WCW guys and everything that went on after Vince bought WCW.

“I wont be watching but I’ll be asking what happened between Undertaker and Triple H.”

He squared off against Big Show for the United States Championship, but before his music hit and he walked through the curtain into the arena, he felt distracted.

He also offered Snooki advice for her match on Sunday. “I told her it’s just like an afternoon at the shore,” he said. “You’re supposed to go out and have a good time, and if trouble starts, just keep swinging until the cops come.”

Brock Lesnar Says He Wasn’t Contacted To Work WM27

2

After a face-to-face staredown with The Undertaker after his most recent UFC fight several months back, there was widespread speculation that Brock Lesnar was in talks with WWE to appear at Sunday’s WrestleMania 27 pay-per-view. In an interview with the UK’s Daily Star, Lesnar says the negotiation never happened .

“They were smart enough to know that I am deeply involved in UFC, what I am doing now.”

“Wrestling doesn’t affect my life so much. I’m a fighter. The WWE will go on, and it will always be there, but I am in the UFC for as far as I can see.”

While it’s clear Lesnar has no plans on returning to WWE any time soon, he didn’t rule out the possibility of appearing at a future WrestleMania event after his UFC days are over.

“If ever there was an opportunity in the future to be on Wrestlemania, then I guess I have to say: ‘Never say never.'”

TNA Planning On Bringing Jeff Hardy’s Real-life Issues To TV

27

Former TNA Wrestling production manager Randy Ricci says that according to reliable sources within the Nashville based organization, current creative plans call for Jeff Hardy’s real-life issues to take center stage on television.

Ricci reports on his blog (nawf.com/blog) that Hardy plans on undergoing treatment for his issues with substance abuse and will enter a rehabilitation facility. Upon his completion of rehab, he will be brought back to television as a babyface recovering from drug addiction.

Hardy was officially written off television on last night’s episode of TNA iMPACT! as Immortal announced they had severed their ties with him.

On March 13 at Victory Road, Hardy received a rematch against Sting for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship under No Disqualification rules, but was defeated in ninety seconds. Behind the scenes, company officials had made the decision to cut the bout short after deeming that Hardy was in no condition to wrestle. The following day it was reported that TNA Wrestling had sent Hardy home from the week’s iMPACT! tapings. He has not appeared for the organization since.

Sarita Recalls Leaving Home To Become A Top Wrestler

5

Years ago, TNA Knockout Sarita left her home in Canada to become a “professional” wrestler in Mexico, where she is known as Dark Angel, as well as an icon of discipline. She discussed her life-changing move during an interview with Milenio Online.

Sarita, who’s real name is Sarah Stock, began wrestling training in December 2001 in her hometown of Winnipeg, Manitoba. After working for various independent promotions, she moved to Monterrey, Mexico in 2003 in an effort to improve her ability. She packed her suitcase and made the move with little concern for her well-being as she was determined to become an elite performer.

(Note – rough Spanish to English translation)

“So I came in a truck from Winnipeg to New Laredo, and from there to Monterrey,” Stock recalls. “I saw a great adventure and something that I needed to do, but to leave my family, to learn a new culture, the language, the struggle to learn Spanish, but the hardest part was being away from home and how to behave in a different culture to mine

“I did not bring much money when I arrived to Monterrey. A person who makes my equipment rented several rooms in a building, which is where I stayed. It was something very different for me, as my old house had heating in the winter and air conditioning in the summer, it was a comfortable house. I came to live in a room made of stone, with the bath and shower outside on the patio, and full of cockroaches, lizards, mice, all of that. I had to get used to it, it was hard. Those changes were far from easy and to live like this was a shock to me.”

In spite of the difficulties, it never passed through her mind to return home, nor was she fearful.

“My parents taught me that regardless if you want to do something there is always a way to do this, I am a woman of challenges and make plans to achieve them,” she said “Nor was I afraid. I do not know if it was youth or the excitement of a new adventure. I thought it was an opportunity to achieve my dream and I was only afraid of my greatest desire and my passion. I just thought about it and not the dangers of what could happen to me.”

At the suggestion of a promoter, Stock began competing while wearing a mask; she also took on a new ring name, Dark Angel. She initially found it difficult to work with the wrestlers in Mexico, as she did not speak Spanish and could not communicate with them throughout the match. On October 17, 2003 she defeated Simply Luscious to win the Lucha Libre Femenil Juvenil Championship. Months later, Stock lost her mask in a forty-five minute mask vs. mask match against Princesa Sujei. Shortly thereafter, she decided to leave Monterrey to move to Mexico City and wrestle for Asistencia Asesoría y Administración. Although Stock began appearing with AAA under the assumption that she would be wrestling, the company had her start out as a ring girl. Stock did not wrestle regularly for AAA, and she stopped appearing for the promotion after a few shows.

Stock signed with Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre in 2004, AAA’s rival promotion. She began competing regularly for CMLL as Dark Angel in the promotion’s newly-rebuilt women’s division, while also competing for various independent promotions in North America and Europe. Sarah was rewarded for her dedication as on July 1, 2005, she debuted at Arena México, “the cathedral of lucha libre.”

She recalls, “I was nervous before going out, but people responded very well and I felt very excited when fans recognized me, this fight is a memory and an unforgettable feeling.”

Stock has achieved numerous accolades since then and is considered the face of women’s wrestling in Mexico. Her notoriety in the country led her to TNA Wrestling in 2009, where she reigns as one half of the TNA Knockout Tag Team Champions. She sends a message to the dreamers out there.

“You have to take life and seize it,” she says. “Someone will want you to feel less, but if you want to do something, that will start without asking permission. Do not be afraid. It is never too late to follow your dreams.”

Sunny Talks About Returning To WWE, Hall Of Fame & More

5

Former WWE diva Tammy “Sunny” Sytch was interviewed by Slam Wrestling this week about getting inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame on Saturday night. Here are some highlights of what Sunny said about: going into the WWE Hall of Fame this year. Here are some highlights:

Returning To WWE At MSG A Few Weeks Ago: “On Saturday, a stretch limo arrived at my house to pick me up and bring me into the city. When I got there, I had so much anxious energy that I was bouncing off the walls. Just before the match, I’m at the curtain when all the girls go out to the ring, and Stephanie McMahon comes over and said, ‘Why are you so nervous? This is old hat for you.’ And I said, ‘Yeah, but it’s been like 13 years since I worked this building.’ Well, as soon as my music hit I made the Sunny switch, and every little bit of nervousness left my body, and I went out there and did my thing. It all felt like I never left, and it was just so freakin’ cool!”

* Pictures of Sunny’s Return At MSG 2 Weeks Ago – She How She Looks!

Finding Out She Was Invited To Join The WWE HOF: “I already had it on while I was packing for my trip to Mexico, when all of a sudden the announcement of Shawn Michaels going into the hall of fame comes on. I said to Johnny Ace, ‘That’s great! Good for him, he deserves it,’ as I acted happier than a pig in poop. Then Johnny Ace goes, ‘Well, Vince [McMahon] and I were talking and we’d like you to be the second inductee.’ I paused, and then said, ‘You’re s**ttin’ me right?’ Then he says, ‘No, I’m not s**ttin’ you.’ So of course I started crying and shaking and freaking out. I was thinking to myself, ‘Oh my God, I’m only 38, and usually the people who go into the Hall of Fame are at least 50, or dead by the time they get inducted. All I could think was, ‘Holy crap, this is awesome!'”

Her Hall Of Fame Speech: “I already know that I’m going to totally screw up my speech. That’s 100 percent a given. As Sunny, if you give me a microphone and tell me to go out to the ring and cut a promo, no problem. But I’ve got to get up there and speak from the heart. It’s going to be 100 per cent real — not a work, not a gimmick, not an angle. And that’s how I know I won’t be able to keep it together. Because that’s not going to be Sunny up on that stage talking. It’s going to be Tammy talking. You know how I told you about that Sunny switch? Well, Tammy screws up a lot. Sunny never does. So without the Sunny switch turned on, I’m going to lose it and cry. Wish me luck.”

Edge Talks About Retirement, Life After Wrestling & More

7

WWE World heavyweight champion Edge was interviewed by the Charlotte Observer this week and shed some new light on how much longer he plans to be an active wrestler. Here are some highlights of what Edge said about:

TLC Matches From The Attitude Era: “I’m relieved I don’t have to do it as much. I still get called on to do it every once in a while. I had 19 ladder matches and most guys have never had one. It’s taken a toll. Now everyone understands I only have so many more of those in me.”

His First WrestleMania “The first one that I was on contract for I wasn’t (wrestling) on the show. I was trying to soak it in. For the guys, it’s a huge buildup. You’re really ramped up. It’s our Super Bowl. You worked your whole year to get on the show. That’s what I realized not being on it. The following year at WrestleMania 16, Christian and I teamed up and won the tag-team championship. We grew up together and always dreamed of doing it.”

When He’ll Retire: “Maybe a couple years. Five? It’s up to my body, which also depends on the kinds of matches…. I want to be able to function and walk and hike these hills.”

What He’ll Do After Wrestling: “I might do a sports talk show up in Canada. Maybe working behind the scenes of WWE. Beyond that, writing and illustrating children’s books would be fun.”

Bret Hart Previews WrestleMania: Taker-HHH, Cena-Miz & More

7

WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart has updated his blog over at BretHart.com with his predictions for Sunday’s WrestleMania 27 pay-per-view. Here are some highlights of what Bret said about:

Undertaker vs. Triple H: “The Undertaker and Triple H segment with Shawn Michaels played out exactly like I expected, the usual smoke blowing up the rectum stuff, more grunts and then a staring contest, thank God Shawn was there just to add something, anything to it. I suppose there isn’t much else these two legends can do as far as buildup goes but it came across to me as having little imagination, the match itself should be one of the better match ups because Taker brings it all the way for Wrestlemania and Triple H can turn it up when he wants to. Triple H has had some hard fought battles over the years, but I don’t know if he’s ever had his chance to literally blow them away at Wrestlemania but this might be his best chance. Taker, in my opinion, is truly one of the all-time best and time and time again, he has delivered the best match on the show so I expect a good solid match, old school but intense. It could steal the show.”

Randy Orton vs. CM Punk: “I expect that Randy Orton will give a great fight at Mania against CM Punk. This is one that, again, seemed to build up pretty much like I expected; same promo and psychology I envisioned before they even came out on RAW last night. These two are some of my favorites and they’re at the very top of their game. I don’t like to criticize either one of them, but I do wish there was more possibility for the unexpected. The angles are becoming harder and harder to differentiate from what they were doing a few months ago. With the storylines, I know it’s a difficult job to be original in a business where everything has been done, but with two pros like these two, you’d think their buildup could’ve been slightly more unpredictable and actually think up something fitting as far as drama and intrigue. So I guess what I’m saying is the talent is there, I’m curious to see where it all ends up at Mania.”

John Cena vs. The Miz: “As for the Miz versus Cena match, again I thought for sure that The Rock would end up as part of it all along, but maybe not. If not, then I feel very disappointed. Rock brings so much. He looks great and he stoked a fire in me with his blazing promos. if anything, this storyline seems empty without him, which is a shame because Miz and Cena deserve better. This one seems to be all about Rock versus Cena. I thought some of the writing these past weeks came seriously close to killing the goose laying the golden eggs in WWE. I think with the main event, as a fan, I’d like to see them get to the damn point and focus on that, rather than dressing something up to look like a something else. Oh, and by the way the point is the actual wrestling. ”

Bret concluded, “As for the actual line-up, it’s been a slow build for much of the card, but for the past few weeks the promos and backstage situations seemed to be rather plain and flat, totally predictable … I expect an excellent show, but I’m putting my faith in some of the dark horse matchups to make the most noise.”

*Spoilers* WWE SmackDown Tapings Results For Friday

13

The following matches were taped prior to Monday’s RAW from the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois. The rest of the show will consist of footage from WWE’s week-long festivities from Atlanta, site of Sunday’s WrestleMania 27 pay-per-view.

1. Kofi Kingston defeated Wade Barrett by DQ in an Intercontinental Title match. Wade controlled most of the early action. Kofi hit his corner kick and a top rope cross body for a two count. Kofi hit the Boom Drop and went for Trouble in Paradise but was met with a kick to the face for a near fall. Kofi hit a nice move and almost had a two count that was broken up by The Corre. Santino and Kozlov hit the ring but were laid out. Big pyro for Kane and Big Show. The faces cleared the ring and had a stare down with The Corre.

Jerry Lawler out to cut a promo against Michael Cole. Good promo by Lawler. Short and to the point. The King has new music.

2. Cody Rhodes defeated Chris Masters. Taz… er … Kane… No, it’s Cody Rhodes under a black towel. Gimmick Infringement!!! Cole returned during this match (he left prior to Jerry’s promo). Seemed slightly longer than the recent Cody squashes. In the end, a side headbutt and CrossRhodes later and Cody got the win. Rey Mysterio ran down and tried to hit the 619 three different times, but Cody wasn’t having it.

“I’m open to it,” Johnson said.
