— Bill Goldberg posted the following note on his Twitter account concerning apparent rumors that TNA has offered him a contract:

— It appears the team of Trent Barreta and Caylen Croft are heading to SmackDown as they took on Cryme Tyme at last night’s SmackDown television taping in Kansas City.

— Mickie James has posted a blog on the WWE Universe website promoting the debut of her first single to country music radio off her debut album, Are You With Me?!.

“Words can not begin to describe how incredibly excited I am,” James wrote. “Its been a lot of hard work and tons of fun! I am so very grateful to have been blessed with such an extraordinary team that has helped bring this dream to a reality. For everyone who has stood by my side through this all and help keep me on this wonderful journey. My friends, My family, My James Gang!, The entire WWE Universe…. I could not have gotten to this place without each and every one of you. I have poured my heart and soul into the entire album that will be released March 23rd entitled “Strangers & Angels”. — Vince McMahon made the call to have Ezekiel Jackson win the ECW Championship in order to give him momentum as he heads to SmackDown. There were some on creative pushing for Christian to retain the title to give ECW a “happy ending” but shot down.

— As noted earlier, Tiffany is peculiarly pictured fully naked in Playboy magazine despite WWE’s apparent ban on nude photo shoots. According to The Sun, the pictures were taken before she joined World Wrestling Entertainment. Playboy owns the rights to the photos and have now published the set as a six-page pictorial.

— WWE returns to the Molson Centre in Barrie, Ontario, Canada on Friday, May 14th, 2010 at 7:30 PM. Tickets go on sale Saturday, March 6th, 2010 at 10 AM.

St. Louis, Missouri (February 12, 2010) –Total Nonstop Action (TNA) Wrestling’s Hulk Hogan brings his blonde locks and fabled fu to St. Louis, home of the Gateway Arch, for the inaugural “Hogan Fu-Fest”, set for Friday, February 26. The “Hogan Fu-Fest” will be a gathering of Fu’s from around the world as TNA Wrestling and Hogan attempt to set a world record for most Fu Manchu’s in one location at one time.

“Hogan Fu-Fest” will take place at Mike Shannon’s Steak and Seafood (620 Market Street) and is sponsored by Doc’s Harley Davidson of St. Louis. “Hogan Fu-Fest” will unite fu fans from around the world for one fu-nky afternoon. The spectacle starts at 2 p.m. CT.

Warrant Issued For Chris Jericho (Updated)

According to Cincinnati, Ohio’s WCPO television station, a bench warrant has been issued for WWE star Chris Jericho after he and his attorneys failed to appear at a court hearing this morning in Kenton County, Kentucky. A “failure to show” citation for $253 was also issued.

Today’s hearing was to follow up to his arrest last month for public intoxication involving fellow WWE star Gregory Helms. The article notes that Helms’ fine was paid, but Jericho’s was not.

The story has been picked up by TMZ.com and a few other sites.

UPDATE: Chris Jericho wrote the following on his Twitter page today:

“Paid my fine on time and never had a court date. I’m free to walk the streets…. Sorry TMZ wrong again.”

TMZ.com posted an update of its own update, stating:

“Jericho finally called the court and paid his $159 fine — so the arrest warrant is no longer in effect.”

RVD Updates His Status & Says He's Leaning Towards TNA

Rob Van Dam appeared on the Right After Wrestling Sirius XM satellite radio show on Monday night and gave an update on his wrestling future.

Now that TNA iMPACT! is moving to Monday nights starting March 8th, could we see “Mr. Monday Night” back where he belongs? Van Dam said, “I feel fairly optimistic because I know TNA is trying really hard to make a good deal for me and that’s basically where we’re at.”

He added that there’s a “good possibility” he will consider an offer from TNA and WWE’s hectic travel schedule is something he’s not looking to relive. “Everything is worth putting on the table to consider, but when it comes time to consider going back to that full-time travel schedule with WWE, that’s not something that I’m wanting to do right now,” RVD said. “The schedule with TNA and also probably their appreciation for RVD might also be a benefit over WWE.”

RVD says that WWE wants him back too, but TNA has been more pro-active about trying to sign him. “WWE would love to have me come back on a full-time basis, but as you know by pointing out that Hogan called into my radio show and stayed on for about an hour, they have been very pro-active and trying to acquire RVD,” RVD said. “That leads me to believe I would have a good spot if things do work out there. We’ll see.”

WWE wants him, but RVD has not forgotten that he was unhappy towards the end of his last run there.  “WWE had me so burnt out because my contract said I would get a weekend off every month and I never did and they wouldn’t give it to me,” RVD said. “When I would tell them I’m so burnt out I don’t want to be here and I’m resenting traveling and coming to work every day, they would double-book me. So, that’s how it went down.”

Shortly after WWE announced the name of their new show is “NXT,” it came out that there is already a promotion called NXT Wrestling, which was a developmental system for the UK’s Scottsh Wrestling Alliance.

SWA owner PJ Murphy has issued a statement regarding a potential conflict with WWE over the “NXT” trademark and the matter has been resolved. The statement reads as follows:

“WWE was proactive in working with us to come to mutually agreeable terms on the release of the NXT trademark once it learned of the potential conflict. The timing was right for us as we were planning on renaming the NXT brand to SWA:Source to be closer aligned with the SWA parent brand.”

Controversial TNA Angle Features Man-On-Man Kiss

TNA newcomer Orlando Jordan kissed a man prior to his match with Samoa Joe at last night’s iMPACT! taping in Orlando. The former WWE United States Champion was escorted to the ring by a man and a woman. He had his arms around both of them and kissed each prior to his match.

This reportedly didn’t go over well with everyone backstage in TNA as some felt the company “crossed the line” as it were. One TNA performer offered the opinion that the angle will turn off viewers from Spike considering it’s specifically geared towards men.

It’s worth noting that before Jordan’s release from World Wrestling Entertainment in May 2006, there were creative plans for him to be repackaged with a bisexual gimmick in a storyline involving former TNA performer Stephanie Finochio (a/k/a Trinity) and a friend of his with no prior background in the wrestling industry. While bisexuality is considered taboo in some wrestling circles, it was passed for Jordan since it’s his lifestyle in the real world. It should be noted that the storyline was Jordan’s idea because creative had no plans for him at the time.

— Sunsports‘ WrestleCast has won another two prestigious Wrestling Radio Awards as their “highly-controversial” chat with former WWE star Mr. Kennedy was voted Male Interview Of The Year while its in-depth Bret Hart podcast picked up a prize for being AudioWrestling.com Editor’s Choice Male Interview Of The Year.

In an interesting note, WrestleCast host Simon ‘LilsBoy’ Rothstein reveals that WWE demanded they edit its chat with Kennedy regarding his controversial remarks on the use of steroids last March.

“We stood firm, pointing out that everything said was clearly Ken’s own opinion and he was more than happy to have his views air – even though most would disagree with them,” Rothstein said. “It actually cost us pre-arranged interviews at WrestleMania, which WWE pulled as a result, but this Award says standing up to them was worth it.”

On the subject of steroids, Kennedy explained why he fell foul of the WWE’s Wellness Policy shortly after saying he didn’t take them in his last chat with WrestleCast in August 2007. He explained how “vigorous” the company is over testing for banned substances, including having an independent official watching their wrestlers give urine samples on an almost weekly basis. But he also adds that, while he knows they’re for the good of his health, he feels the tests are “a little much” and expresses his own personal view that: “If you’re not hurting anybody – then what’s the big deal?”
