The wrestling world has to mourn the unexpected loss of another colleague this week as Yutaka Yoshie passed away following an AJPW match in Takasaki City on March 10. The cause of death was initially unknown, but wrestling colleague Suwama has confirmed why his close friend passed away.
Suwama, who also was in the tag tournament Yoshie was participating in, rushed to the hospital following his match to be with Yoshie. Speaking with Tokyo Sports, Suwama was told by Yoshie’s family that he passed away due to arteriosclerosis, a hardening of the arteries.
Suwama said that the family notified him that “it was not caused by a professional wrestling match, so please don’t worry about it. Even in the snow, he was wearing short sleeves and shorts, and he was a cheerful and cheerful person. It was truly unexpected…”
Yoshie was only 50 years old and set to celebrate his 30th year in wrestling, making his debut in 1994 for NJPW.
WWE Hall Of Famer Mourns The Loss Of Yutaka Yoshie
2015 WWE Hall Of Famer Tatsumi Fujinami was actually a mentor of Yoshie, and commented on the sudden passing.
“I’m shocked. He also appeared at our house, and we were friends who worked together at Muga. I never expected to hear news like this. I never dreamed of that,” he said in a low voice. “I’ve been wrestling for more than 50 years, and he’s a memorable wrestler. When he wrestled with Muga, he was a great force, and he had character, so I guess you could say he was dependable. He worked hard as a member, and there were many fans of his, both locally and in the region, who cooperated with him.”
We at SEScoops would again like to send our prayers and condolences out to Yoshie’s family, friends and fans at this time.
“You know what, 50 is my absolute line in the sand,” Cena said. “I would like to try to do it before that. But at 50 I’m just going to tweet, ‘Peace out, see ya.’ That’s it, I’m good.”
The Doctor Of Thuganomics is set to turn 47 in April which only gives Cena three more years before turning half a century.
By some other legendary colleague’s circumstances, Cena would be hanging it up early at the age of fifty. The Rock is currently 51, Chris Jericho is 53, Rob Van Dam is 53 and Sting just donned the facepaint for the last time at 64.
John Cena Has Other Avenues He Wants To Pursue
Cena also noted that he was 100% driven by WWE back in his prime, but now other passions have taken over and it’s not just the silver screen.
“I was very much driven where WWE was my passion 24/7. And I’m very grateful, but I’ve grown and there’s a lot of other avenues I’m curious about in life,” Cena said. “And certainly being a great husband and partner is one of those. So I just want to try to do what I can in those avenues.”
With SAG and the writer’s guild on strike last year, Cena did spend some extra time in the squared circle and fans can likely expect the future WWE Hall Of Famer in some capacity at WrestleMania 40 in Philadelphia.

WWE is celebrating four decades of WrestleMania with new limited-edition championships from four distinct eras of professional wrestling.
The new championships are $699.99 each on WWEShop.com and are being promoted with shipping within one business day. Each title features side plates bearing a 40 Years of WrestleMania insignia as well as a similar metal end plate.
The Golden Era
The four champions represent a different era in the promotion’s history. The Golden Era title celebrates WrestleManias 1 to 10 and features the Winged Eagle plates synonymous with Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage, Bret Hart, and others. The strap features the iconic WrestleMania logo.
The Attitude Era
The Attitude Era Championship features the plates of the ‘Big Eagle’ title held by ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin, The Rock, Triple H, Mick Foley, and others. The strap features the logos for WrestleManias 11 to 20. Dubbing this the Attitude Era title may raise some eyebrows, given that the acclaimed period of wrestling history didn’t really come into effect until WrestleMania 14 and the consensus among many is that it ended after just three years.
The Ruthless Agression & PG Era
The Ruthless Agression & PG Era title is emblazoned with the logos of WrestleManias 21 to 30. The plates come from the ‘Spinner Belt’ introduced by John Cena in April 2005. This championship is the only one of the four that includes a nameplate, which includes the dates 2005-2014.
The Modern Era
The Modern Era championship features the plates seen on the current Undisputed WWE Universal Championship and WWE Women’s Championship. Like the other titles, it features the logos of WrestleManias 31 to 40.
Some consider Dave Chappelle the greatest living comedian today, but he is also controversial for others for a variety of reasons. Either way, he is apparently going to be at the biggest party of the summer in Cleveland, if Logan Paul has anything to say about it.
SummerSlam 2024 is coming to Cleveland on August 3rd, and Logan Paul is hyped about it. In reaction to the strong rumors before the big announcement, The Maverick listed off a ton of people who will be at SummerSlam, and Chappelle was one of those names.
Logan Paul’s Reaction to SummerSlam Announcement
SummerSlam is one of WWE’s biggest events of the year. So, naturally, they will bring in some big names. A lot of people either sleep on Cleveland, or they use the city as a punchline, one that has long-lost its topical punch. The truth is that a lot of big names have come out of the city, and Logan Paul wants his Cleveland connection to turn out for SummerSlam.
“I wanna bring my brother Jake [Paul], I want MGK to be there, I want the Kelce brothers to be there, I want it to be one of the biggest events Cleveland has ever seen & hopefully I can get an opponent who I can bring the house down with — oh Dave Chappelle will absolutely be… pic.twitter.com/j0I7vhNcwO
During his Impaulsive podcast, Logan Paul made his excitment about SummerSlam 2024’s location very clear. He wants his brother there, along with Machine Gun Kelly. He also named the Kelce Brothers, but the cherry on top was the Half Baked star himself, Dave Chappelle.
“I wanna bring my brother Jake [Paul], I want MGK to be there, I want the Kelce brothers to be there, I want it to be one of the biggest events Cleveland has ever seen & hopefully I can get an opponent who I can bring the house down with — oh Dave Chappelle will absolutely be there.”
As strange as it may be to have Chappelle at SummerSlam, Triple H is a fan. He has attended one of Chappelle’s stand-up shows in recent memory. Vince McMahon also went along, but it would obviously be The Game making the call to bring Chappelle in for SummerSlam nowadays.
SummerSlam 2024 Hype
As of this writing, no matches have been announced for SummerSlam 2024. The company has a date and location locked in. Now, they will make their way to Cleveland in August.
SummerSlam brought a ton of revenue and fans to Detroit last year, so Cleveland has an excellent reason to be excited about SummerSlam coming in. There will be a lot of fans tuning in to see what surprises WWE has in store for them, and Cleveland will likely be represented in full-force throughout the show.
SEScoops will have full coverage of the road to SummerSlam, and beyond. Keep checking back for constant updates and headlines for the stories that you need.
SummerSlam is one of WWE’s big 4 premium live events, and now we know which city will host the event that has become an extravaganza. The company is leaning toward booking stadiums for their massive shows, and they did it again in Cleveland.
WWE, along with Haslam Sports Group and the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission, have announced that WWE SummerSlam is coming to Cleveland Browns Stadium on Saturday, August 3, 2024.
The event will be preceded by a series of activities spread across the week, including Friday Night SmackDown at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse on August 2, along with various fan and community engagements leading up to and following SummerSlam.
Opened in 1999, Cleveland Browns Stadium hosts the NFL team and has a max capacity of approximately 67,000 people.
Ohio’s WWE Connection
This year marks SummerSlam’s return to Cleveland for the first time since August 1996. The city has hosted plenty of amazing shows for decades. Now, WWE is coming to the famous NFL venue where the Browns play on the gridiron.
Several active WWE Superstars hail from Cleveland and the state of Ohio, including Logan Paul, The Miz, Johnny Gargano. Alexa Bliss and the Creed Brothers.
Jon Moxley, Nic and Ryan Nemeth, Abyss, Madison Rayne and Shark Boy all hail from the Buckeye State, as did the late great ‘Macho Man’ Randy Savage.
The Maverick Brings The Hype
Logan Paul United States champion first broke the news of SummerSlam coming to Cleveland on the March 12 episode ofd his Impaulsive podcast.
WWE’s reigning United States champion goes ‘big’ with everything he does, so he didn’t just reveal one of WWE’s biggest premium live events is coming to his home city. Logan Paul called out NBA kingpin LeBron James and rattled off several other celebrities who may be there, including comedian Dave Chappelle:
Cleveland SummerSlam Reactions
Paul “Triple H” Levesque, WWE Chief Content Officer, expressed excitement about the collaboration:
“The city of Cleveland and WWE have a longstanding history. We are eager to bring SummerSlam, SmackDown, and a range of events to the town in collaboration with Haslam Sports Group and the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission.”
David Jenkins, Chief Operating Officer of Haslam Sports Group, added:
“We’re delighted to host WWE’s SummerSlam at Cleveland Browns Stadium this August and showcase the city’s offerings to the WWE Universe. Hosting such a prestigious event at our stadium will generate substantial economic benefits for the region and spotlight Northeast Ohio and Cleveland Browns Stadium as ideal destinations for major events.”
David Gilbert, President and CEO of Greater Cleveland Sports Commission, echoed this sentiment:
“We are thrilled to welcome WWE this August, bolstering Cleveland’s reputation as a prime location for major U.S. events. SummerSlam 2024 is poised to be Ohio’s largest WWE event, providing a significant economic boost to our community while spotlighting Cleveland’s vibrant downtown, authentic experiences, and exciting attractions.”
SummerSlam 2023 Success
This announcement follows last year’s record-setting SummerSlam at Ford Field in Detroit, which established a new gate record for any non-WrestleMania event with $8.5 million until the 2024 Royal Rumble surpassed it. Additionally, it became the most-viewed SummerSlam in WWE history.
Cities are climbing over each other to host WWE events for a reason. Now, Cleveland will get one of the big 4 premium live events, and all the economic boost that will come with it.
WWE SummerSlam 2024, is coming to Cleveland, Ohio, and U.S. Champion Logan Paul wants a piece of Lebron James at the biggest party of the summer.
On his ImPaulsive podcast, the reigning WWE U.S. Champion, a native of Forest City, confirmed that SummerSlam will take place at the Cleveland Browns Stadium on August 3. As Paul pointed out, the show will mark the first time that SummerSlam has taken place in Cleveland since 1996.
Logan Paul’s Potential Opponent
Paul and his co-hosts, which includes his PRIME Energy co-founder KSI, spoke about bringing the excitement to the upcoming show. The Maverick especially wanted to put on a good show in his hometown.
When one of Paul’s co-hosts suggested LeBron James, Paul said he’s “probably” going to be stepping in the ring with the basketball legend. Dave Chapelle was also thrown out as a potential opponent, which Paul was also on board with.
WWE has a rich history of hosting Premium Live Events in the city of Cleveland, Ohio. WWE’s first PLE in the city was the aforementioned SummerSlam 1996 which saw then-WWF Champion Shawn Michaels retain his gold against Big Van Vader. Other WWE events hosted in Cleveland include No Mercy 1999, Survivor Series 2004, Unforgiven 2008, and WWE TLC 2014.
The promotion’s most recent PLE in Cleveland was Fastlane 2019 which saw The Shield defeat Baron Corbin, Bobby Lashley, and Drew McIntyre in a six-man tag-team match. The bout marked the first match featuring the Shield following Roman Reigns’ return from his second victory over leukemia.
Vince McMahon was well aware that Tony Khan opened up AEW, even though he didn’t want to give them any added attention. He did want to know if they were doing anything special that WWE wasn’t.
Bryan Danielson revealed that he received a phone call from Vince McMahon late one night while he was still with WWE. McMahon had a very interesting question to ask about AEW vs WWE programming, and that caused Bryan to investigate.
McMahon’s Request of Bryan Danielson
While speaking at SXSW, Bryan Danielson opened up a bit about WWE’s creative situation with Vince McMahon. He revealed that The Chairman of the Board called him one night, and he asked a very interesting question about AEW.
It seems that Vince wanted to know what AEW is doing that WWE isn’t doing. After watching a lot of television, Bryan Danielson had a number of things to report back to Mr. McMahon.
“Vince McMahon actually called me one night, I was part of WWE creative, and he called me one night and said, ‘What is AEW doing that we’re not doing?’ I went back and watched eight straight weeks of TV within the span of six days and was like, ‘there is a whole list of things.’”
Bryan Danielson is a treasured member of the AEW roster now. Not only is he one of the top in-ring names that the company has, but he also plays a very important role backstage.

Danielson is one of three people reportedly in AEW’s disciplinary committee. It is apparently only Bryan and two other unnamed attorneys. Those are the people responsible for handing down any punishments, suspensions, or terminations. Obviously, AEW has provided Danielson with an amazing opportunity outside the ring.
Vince McMahon is no longer calling the shots in WWE, as he was ousted following Janel Grant’s lawsuit. Now, we will have to wait and see what is next for him, but odds are he won’t be making any more late-night calls to Bryan Danielson.

Imitation is considered the sincerest form of flattery, and Christian Cage certainly felt flattered during a segment on this week’s WWE Monday Night Raw.
“You know why everyone boo’s you? You don’t belong here. You think the internet hates you? You should hear what the girls in the locker room say. It’s a good thing your dead brother isn’t here to see what an embarrassment you’ve become.”
Christian Cage Weighs In
LeRae’s comment about Maxxine’s brother has spawned a debate about whether WWE went too far in the name of entertainment. Plenty of people have taken to social media to share their take on the situation. In a tweet of his own, Christian Cage didn’t mention the segment by name, but said how everybody wants to be him. As the comments showed, it’s clear that the AEW TNT Champion who has a tendency to bring up dead relatives was talking about LeRae’s comment on Raw.
They ALL want to be me

Maxxine Dupri’s Brother
Wyatt Zmrzel passed away at the age of 22 after a life of numerous challenges. Wyatt was born with adrenoleukodystrophy; a rare genetic condition that affected his ability to use the right side of his body and left him prone to seizures.
Due to adrenoleukodystrophy, Wyatt relied on car services for transportation. In December 2017, a Lyft driver made a turn onto a highway at a rural intersection. The Lyft vehicle collided with a Toyota 4-Runner, killing Zmrzel.
MLW is still making moves, and booking stories after their $20 million antitrust lawsuit settlement came in from WWE. Now, Salina de la Renta is signing her own talent.
Salina de la Renta of Major League Wrestling recently announced the “signing” of Bad Dude Tito, adding to her growing influence within the organization. In a social media clip, she presented a contract bearing the name Promociones Dorado, suggesting Tito’s affiliation. She also took a jab at Mistico for good measure.
de la Renta’s New Signing
Salina de la Renta’s recent actions are causing a stir. Major League Wrestling shared a video clip on social media where she announced the “signing” of Bad Dude Tito. In the video, Salina presented a contract bearing the name Promociones Dorado, suggesting that she has brought Tito into the group.
While addressing Mistico, Salina conveyed her feelings through a veiled gesture, offering flowers with a smirk as a token of her disdain. She expressed her dissatisfaction with Mistico’s success and warned Cesar, suggesting that their reign with the MLW Middleweight Championship won’t last long. With determination evident in her words, Salina unveiled her surprise, revealing the signing of Bad Dude Tito, leaving a challenge that has yet to be accepted.
“Mistico, I have a present for you. It’s flowers.[Laughs] I hope that you take these as a token of my hatred and despise. Congrats. You brought Cesar what he wanted. You guys have the MLW Middleweight Championship. But if I were you, and now I’m talking to you, Cesar, I would not celebrate so much because that won’t last long. Because while you were over there in Boyle Heights parting, I was grinding as always because this is my life. This is what I do 24/7. Oh, so I have a surprise for you too. [Pulls out a contract] What is this? It looks like I just signed Bad Dude Tito. [Laughs] So what are you going to do about that?”
WWE and MLW reached a resolution in the antitrust lawsuit that had persisted since 2022. The legal dispute, involving allegations of antitrust practices and talent poaching, concluded with a $20 million settlement.
A 10-K filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission confirmed the finalization of the settlement agreement on December 22, 2023. The filing outlined the lawsuit’s origins, noting MLW’s initial complaint on January 11, 2022, which accused WWE of meddling with MLW’s contractual relationships with certain media platforms. Allegations included anticompetitive behavior, violating the Sherman Antitrust Act and California law.
On December 22, 2023, the parties informed the court of a $20.0 million settlement agreement and agreed to voluntarily dismiss the case with prejudice, leading to its official dismissal on December 26, 2023. Although the lawsuit faced dismissal in February 2023, MLW refiled with amendments, leading to a judge’s denial of a motion to dismiss in June.
That $20 million settlement number was revealed as part of TKO’s earnings report. Now, MLW has a lot more money to spend.

WWE released Top Dolla from his contract in September 2023, but he still has friends in the company. He is also never one to turn down an invitation for a gathering he wants to attend.
AJ Francis was in the house for RAW in Houston this week. That being said, he had a reason for being there. He couldn’t pass up on the opportunity after he just so happened to be in Houston at the same time.
Francis Explains His Whereabouts
After WWE RAW this week, AJ Francis took to Twitter/X to explain why he was around RAW this week. He made it very clear that not only was he invited, but he also said that everyone was very excited to see him.
It felt good to be back in the WWE fold, if only for one night. Hopefully, this explanation clears things up for any inquisitive fans.
Bun B invited me to his show at Rodeo Houston so I pulled up to H-Town today… at the rental car spot a fan told me RAW was in Houston.
EVERYONE I saw was excited to see me & that felt good…

When Fightful Select reported that AJ Francis was backstage at RAW, plenty of fans wondered what was going on. After all, he just debuted for TNA Wrestling, and he’s starting to make an impact there (no pun intended). It seems that he was just there visiting friends.
AJ Francis will keep doing his thing, and that may include showing up at a WWE event or two. He is still welcomed backstage as part of the WWE Family, even if he is no longer officially employed there.
SEScoops will have more on this story if there are any updates, along with so much more in the pro wrestling world. Keep checking back for more of the updates on every story you need to know about.
AEW’s CJ Perry has spoke about the impact social media has made on her mental health following her split from fellow All-Elite talent Miro.
TMZ Sports first reported earlier this week that the couple had “broke up once and for all” and that their split had happened in the winter of last year. It was added that the pair had been experiencing an on-and-off relationship for several years.
CJ Perry on Social Media
Taking to Twitter, Perry didn’t address the split directly but spoke about her mental health being severely impacted whenever she is on the platform. Perry added that it’s hardly a surprise that for the most part she tries to keep off of the site.
Every time I go to twitter or @x my mental health is severely impacted. Wild. No wonder I stay off this platform
Perry and Miro, as Lana and Rusev respectively, met in WWE and the Ravishing Russian would serve as a manager. The couple were called up to the main roster in 2014 but had an on-screen split in 2015. That year’s angle, which saw Rusev align with Summer Rae and Lana with Dolph Ziggler, was cut short after Miro and Perry announced their real life engagement.
Miro would be released from WWE in 2020 and debuted for AEW under his real name that same year. Perry’s tenure as Lana ended the following year and she joined AEW in 2023. At AEW Worlds End, Perry turned on Andrade El Idolo following the former NXT Champion’s loss to Miro. While many saw this as a sign of Miro and Perry reuniting as an on-screen duo, it’s unclear what the future holds given their real-life separation.
Brock Lesnar is known as the Beast Incarnate for WWE fans, but his daughter is also tearing it up in her own field. Mya Lesnar recently pulled down a big win, which places her on top of the NCAA.
Mya Lesnar clinched the NCAA indoor shot put title in Boston with a throw exceeding 60 feet. As a junior at Colorado State, she previously finished 11th last year. This year, she enters the outdoor championship as the nation’s top seed.
Brock Lesnar’s Daughter, Mya Lesnar, Wins Big
9 News reports that Mya Lesnar won the NCAA indoor shot put championship on Saturday night in Boston. She did so with a throw of over 60 feet. She is currently a junior at Colorado State, and finished 11th last year. This year, she is walking into the outdoor championship as the #1 seed in the country.
Lesnar secured CSU’s first indoor national championship since 2018, a feat last achieved by Mostafa Hassan in the shot put category for two consecutive years. CSU’s track and field program saw another national champion in the women’s category outdoors, with Loree Smith claiming victory in the hammer throw at the 2005 outdoor NCAA championships. A junior athlete, Lesnar transferred from Arizona State and boasts a lineage connected to wrestler Brock Lesnar as his daughter.
This is a big accomplishment for Mya Lesnar, and we expect great things for her. Only time will tell if she follows her father into pro wrestling, but she certainly has a great way to get her foot in the door if that day comes.
Brock Lesnar’s Current Status
Brock Lesnar was pulled from the road to WrestleMania 40 after his name was connected with Janel Grant’s lawsuit. He was not directly named, but there were certainly enough clues to pinpoint that Lesnar was the Superstar in question.
In recent news, Lesnar was placed back on the WWE roster on their official website. At this point, the WWE creative team has still not heard anything regarding a change to his status.
SEScoops will have more on this story, and so much more, so keep checking back for more updates.
The pro wrestling world was rocked in a big way when Janel Grant’s lawsuit named Vince McMahon and John Laurinaitis. Now, the names of other executives were named, and the company is reacting.
In a sex-trafficking lawsuit filed in January, WWE president Nick Khan and COO Brad Blum were identified as Corporate Officers No. 1 and No. 2, respectively. The lawsuit alleges their involvement in a scheme where plaintiff Janel Grant was purportedly “a sexual slave within the WWE.” Now, WWE has issued a response to this blockbuster headline.
WWE’s Response
In response to the allegations, WWE issued a statement expressing its serious approach to Ms. Grant’s claims and emphasized a zero-tolerance policy toward physical abuse or unwanted contact.
The statement also clarified that neither Khan nor Blum were aware of any allegations by Ms. Grant prior to the lawsuit filed on January 25, 2024, nor does the complaint allege that either had knowledge of such incidents.
“WWE takes Ms. Grant’s allegations very seriously and has no tolerance for any physical abuse or unwanted physical contact. “Neither Nick Khan nor Brad Blum, prior to the lawsuit being filed on January 25, 2024, were aware of any allegation by Ms. Grant that she was the victim of abuse or unwanted physical contact; nor does the complaint allege that either had knowledge of such.”
It is important to note that neither Blum nor Khan have been accused of engaging in any sexually inappropriate behavior with Janel Grant.

Janel Grant’s Lawsuit
The lawsuit alleges that WWE CEO Khan played a significant role in a scheme involving Grant’s hiring for an unspecified position, as reported by Front Office Sports. Khan is identified as ‘Corporate Officer 1’ in the legal documents, alongside WWE COO Blum, who is listed as ‘Officer 2.’ McMahon introduced Blum and Khan to Grant as his ‘key fixers,’ according to the suit.
The lawsuit further contends that in March 2021, Grant informed McMahon that Khan recognized her when she introduced herself in a corridor, with Khan allegedly questioning her trustworthiness. McMahon purportedly relayed to Grant that Khan had doubts about her reliability. However, a WWE spokesperson denies the occurrence of this conversation.

Chad Gable has shared just how visceral his loss on this week’s Raw has been for him after coming up short in the Intercontinental Title contenders gauntlet match.
The Olympian was part of the six-man match which also featured Ricochet, Bronson Reed, Shinsuke Nakamura, JD McDonagh, and Sami Zayn. The match came down to Gable and Zayn, both of whom have made emotional cases for challenging GUNTHER at WrestleMania. Despite a valiant effort by Gable, Zayn got the win and the title shot at WrestleMania 40.
Chad Gable on His Visceral Loss
In a WWE Raw Digital Exclusive after the match, Gable reflected on last night’s match and this latest setback.
“For those who have never felt something like this, it’s more visceral than I can describe. It’s not coming up short. It’s really letting people down that depend on you in a number of ways. For me this meant a lot more than WrestleMania, a lot more than a championship. It was a very personal, personal thing for me [and] my family.”
Chad Gable on Sami Zayn
After his defeat, Gable and Zayn shared some words in the ring. When asked what Sami said, however, Gable said he wasn’t going to divulge their private conversation.
“For now, that’s going to stay between me and Sami. To be honest, I was less interested in what he had to say and more interested in getting out of the ring.”
Gable acknowledged that was the winner of the match but argued that facing GUNTHER at WrestleMania would always mean more to him than the Canadian.
“I’m a man, willing to say that he [Zayn] was the better man tonight. I don’t think it meant more to him. I don’t think it still means more to him than it does to me but I have no problem showing respect.”
A huge ladder tag-team ladder match has been confirmed for WrestleMania 40, one that will see the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championships on the line.
During a segment on the March 11, 2024, episode, Raw General Manager Adam Pearce and SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis spoke about wanting to make this year’s WrestleMania the biggest ever. The pair announced that the Judgment Day will defend the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Titles at WrestleMania in a six-team ladder match.
Tag teams will have the opportunity on both Raw and SmackDown to earn a spot in the ladder match. The first qualifying match will take place on this Friday’s episode of WWE SmackDown.
Who Could Make the Cut?
There’s no shortage of tag teams in WWE who’d love a shot at the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championships at WrestleMania. From Monday Night Raw, fans can watch the likes of the Creed Brothers and their allies in Alpha Academy. There’s also Awesome Truth, Imperium’s Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci, as well as DIY and the New Day.
SmackDown is hardly lacking in tag teams either. The blue brand is the home of The Final Testament, which includes the Authors of Pain. The Latino World Order could also qualify for the title match though we’re sure Legado Del Fantasma would love to stop that. The O.C., Pretty Deadly, The Pride and New Catch Republic can also be found on Friday Nights.
WWE WrestleMania 40
This year’s WrestleMania will be the fifth annual two-night WrestleMania, a tradition that began with the Covid-19 pandemic. The show will also be the first WrestleMania following the launch of TKO Group Holdings last September. The card for the show so far is as follows:
Roman Reigns (c) vs. Cody Rhodes (Undisputed WWE Universal Championship)
Iyo Sky (c) vs. Bayley (WWE Women’s Championship)
Rhea Ripley (c) vs. Becky Lynch (WWE Women’s World Championship)
Seth “Freakin” Rollins (c) vs. Drew McIntyre (WWE World Heavyweight Championship)
Seth “Freakin” Rollins & Cody Rhodes Vs. Roman Reigns & The Rock
GUNTHER (c) vs. Sami Zayn (WWE Intercontinental Championship)
The Judgment Day (c) vs. TBA vs. TBA vs. TBA vs. TBA vs.TBA (Six-Pack Ladder Match, Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championships)
During this week’s Raw, WWE shared a photo from UFC 299, hardly a surprise given that WWE & UFC are part of TKO Group Holdings. The photo in question, as Michael Cole made clear, was of Rhea Ripley at the most recent UFC event. Ripley was photographed with her fiance Buddy Matthews of AEW. Cole didn’t mention AEW or Matthews, despite Pat McAfee asking “with who?!” was Ripley sat with.
In June 2022, WWE celebrated 20 years since the on-screen debut of John Cena. Many of Cena’s greatest rivals paid tribute to the 16-time WWE World Champion, including some from AEW. Bryan Danielson, Paul Wight, and Chris Jericho all appeared on Raw via video packages to recognize the impressive career of ‘Big Match John.’
Stephanie McMahon and Nick Khan are among those named in Janel Grant’s lawsuit against WWE, in which she claims she was abused and trafficked during her tenure.
The suit claims that Khan, WWE’s CEO, was instrumental in a scheme that saw Grant hired in an undefined role, Front Office Sports reports. Khan is listed in the paperwork as ‘Corporate Officer 1’ alongside WWE COO Brad Blum (Officer 2.) McMahon presented Blum and Khan to Grant as his ‘key fixers’ according to the suit.
A statement from WWE reads:
“WWE takes Ms. Grant’s allegations very seriously and has no tolerance for any physical abuse or unwanted physical contact. Neither Nick Khan nor Brad Blum, prior to the lawsuit being filed on January 25, 2024, were aware of any allegation by Ms. Grant that she was the victim of abuse or unwanted physical contact; nor does the complaint allege that either had knowledge of such.”
The suit claims that in March 2021, Grant told McMahon that Khan responded to her introducing herself in a corridor by telling her he knew exactly who she was. McMahon told her, according to the suit, that Khan had “inquired whether Grant could be trusted.” A WWE spokesperson denies this conversation ever happened.
It should be stressed that neither Blum or Khan have been accused of acting sexually inappropriate with Janel Grant.
Brad Blum’s Alleged Role
Grant claims that when she first met with McMahon, she had minimal work history, but that the 78-year-old ensured her a meeting with Blum, the EVP of operations at the time. The interview with Blum saw “hardly any questions” asked, but she was hired to a $75,000-a-year role in WWE’s legal department. When McMahon told Grant that Blum had warned him “that there were a lot of rumors circulating” about the relationship, she was moved to another department.
Stephanie McMahon in the Lawsuit
The suit also makes reference to Stephanie McMahon (Corporate Officer 3) who stepped down from WWE in January 2023 following her father’s return. Stephanie is mentioned once in ambiguous context in the suit. She is described as knowing “of other instances of [Vince] McMahon engaging in inappropriate sexual conduct” and motioned for Grant to sit near her during a meeting. The meeting in question was said to be among WWE’s executive committee which Grant claims was odd for her to be present for, saying it was far above her pay grade.
AEW has a lot of injuries on their roster. Some are actually expressing concern about that at this point, as Al Snow said he expects someone to die in an AEW ring if things aren’t fixed. Now, we have another unfortunate injury to report.
Anthony Henry, 1/2 of the WorkHorsemen, is no longer part of the active roster. He is dealing with a broken jaw, and it appears that surgery will be needed.
Henry’s Injury
Anthony Henry shared his uncertainty and worry regarding his broken jaw, admitting it to be an unfamiliar and daunting injury for him. Wrestling is an integral part of his life, and he expressed a sense of loss without it and voiced concerns about how the injury might impact future plans, particularly those involving his tag team partner, JD Drake.
Update: Absolutely gutted. In last night's match against Bryan Keith, I took a knee strike that broke my jaw. The #workhorsemen had some exciting things coming up. One of which was the @AEW tag team tournament, which we can now not be involved in. I will have surgery soon. pic.twitter.com/E3YnKJ5iyC

Henry hinted at a possible hiatus from social media during this time but conveyed appreciation to the fans for their support. The WorkHorsemen member was obviously distraught to reveal this injury news for fans.
In an update on Twitter/X, Henry revealed feeling devastated after sustaining the injury during a match against Bryan Keith, where a knee strike caused his jaw to break. He expressed disappointment and mentioned missing out on upcoming opportunities, including participation in the AEW tag team tournament with the WorkHorsemen. Henry indicated that there are also plans for surgery to address the injury.
I honestly don't know how I will take this. I've never had an injury like this. I don't know what to do without wrestling, and my biggest fear is that it derails any upcoming plans for Drake and I. I may be absent from here for a while. I appreciate all the fans who support us! https://t.co/UhV811VFFI

Anthony Henry’s Tag Team Career
The WorkHorsemen have achieved notable success throughout their careers, including winning the AWE Tag Team Championship, DPW Worlds Tag Team Championship, EVOLVE Tag Team Championship, and FW Tag Team Championship. Additionally, they were ranked #57 in the 2022 PWI Top 100 Tag Teams. Now, the team has to pump the brakes as Henry suffered this bad break.
We’re sending out our best to Anthony Henry. This is terrible news, and it certainly stopped his momentum. Hopefully, he can heal up fast and get back to the ring ASAP.
SEScoops will have more on this story, and so much more, as additional updates are made available.
WrestleMania 40 is less than 30 days away, and this week’s episode of RAW saw a lot of momentum toward the show of shows. Jey Uso took the microphone, and he had a lot to say.
Jimmy Uso screwed his brother, Jey, out of an IC Title match a couple of weeks ago. Now, Jey wants to face his brother on the grandest stage of them all. He was on RAW this week, where he laid down that challenge.
Jey Uso’s WrestleMania Challenge
Main Event Jey Uso’s journey as a singles competitor on RAW saw him carve out his own path and establish his legacy apart from The Bloodline. That being said, his progress has often been impeded by interference from The Bloodline, particularly his estranged brother, Jimmy Uso. Frustrated over his brother’s interference and tired of missed opportunities, Jey Uso took matters into his own hands on the latest edition of RAW.
During the show, Jey Uso confronted the situation head-on and proposed a solution to resolve their ongoing conflicts. He issued a challenge to his older brother, Jimmy Uso, for a high-stakes ‘Brother vs Brother’ showdown at WrestleMania 40.
The crowd responded with enthusiastic YEET chants, indicating their excitement for the potential clash between the siblings on the grand stage of WrestleMania. It looks like we may get YeetMania this year.
This match holds significant value for WWE’s stories, and The Bloodline saga. After all, a brother vs brother match for the Usos has been on fans minds for a very long time. Given the history between the two brothers, particularly Jimmy’s betrayal of Jey at last year’s SummerSlam, things could get very interesting.
SEScoops will have more on this story as additional updates are made available. You never know what will break next, but we will be here with all the headlines you need.
Sami Zayn hopes to win his second championship in as many WrestleManias when he challenges Intercontinental Champion GUNTHER next month.
On Monday Night Raw, Zayn emerged as the victor of a Gauntlet Match to determine the Austrian’s next challenger. The match featured Zayn, Chad Gable, Shinsuke Nakamura, ‘Big’ Bronson Reed, Ricochet, and JD McDonagh of the Judgment Day.
The match started with Ricochet, the man GUNTHER dethroned in June 2022, taking on McDonagh. The One and Only pinned McDonagh before Bronson Reed eliminated Ricochet. Zayn would be the fourth entrant in the match and would eliminate Reed. He would then eliminate Nakamura and Chad Gable to get the win and the coveted title shot.
Sami Zayn as Intercontinental Champion
Zayn is a three-time Intercontinental Champion and won the title for the first time in March 2020. After opting to take a break from WWE programming due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Zayn would be stripped of the title but in storyline claimed to still be the champion when he returned to TV in August that same year.
At Clash of Champions in September 2020, Zayn was crowned the Undisputed Intercontinental Champion but lost the title to Big E in December. His third reign began in February 2022 but he would lose the gold to Ricochet mere weeks later.
WWE WrestleMania 40
This year’s WrestleMania will be the fifth annual two-night WrestleMania, a tradition that began with the Covid-19 pandemic. The show will also be the first WrestleMania following the launch of TKO Group Holdings last September. The card for the show so far is as follows:
Roman Reigns (c) vs. Cody Rhodes (Undisputed WWE Universal Championship)
Iyo Sky (c) vs. Bayley (WWE Women’s Championship)
Rhea Ripley (c) vs. Becky Lynch (WWE Women’s World Championship)
Seth “Freakin” Rollins (c) vs. Drew McIntyre (WWE World Heavyweight Championship)
GUNTHER (c) vs. Sami Zayn (WWE Intercontinental Championship)
The WWE WrestleMania stage has been a magnet for celebrities in recent years. As such, it is no surprise to see that the Road to WrestleMania itself has elicited similar results.
Monday’s episode of Raw marked WWE’s official return to the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. It also marked a special guest appearance from award-winning rapper Travis Scott. Scott, of course, is a native of Houston, as he was born and raised in the surrounding areas throughout his childhood.
As seen in a new X video, Scott arrived to the venue earlier today, where he was greeted by former Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champion Jey Uso. After shaking hands, Uso promptly announced Scott’s presence with his signature “Yeet.”
Later in the evening, Scott posed for a photograph with WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque.
“Too sweet having Houston’s own [Travis Scott] in the building for #WWERaw,” Levesque wrote on X (formerly Twitter), alongside an image of the two men gesturing a too sweet.
As Scott situated himself backstage, several WWE superstars brought forth some action on-screen.
One of the night’s notable matches saw Becky Lynch defeat an infuriated Liv Morgan, after which Nia Jax unleashed an attack on both competitors. Elsewhere on the card, The Kabuki Warriors (Asuka & Kairi Sane) successfully defended their WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships against Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark.
General Managers Adam Pearce and Nick Aldis also announced that the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championships will be on the line in a six-pack tag team ladder match at WrestleMania 40. The challengers for this particular title bout will be decided over the next few weeks.
AEW’s CJ Perry and Miro are moving on from one another.
Earlier today, TMZ Sports reported that CJ Perry (formerly known as Lana) and Miro (formerly known as Rusev) had “broke[n] up once and for all” in the winter of 2023 after several years of an on-and-off relationship. The couple, who officially tied to knot in July 2016, is said to have simply drifted apart.
While the couple has yet to file for divorce, Miro reportedly moved back to his home country of Bulgaria shortly after he and Perry made the decision to break up.
CJ Perry has since confirmed their split to TMZ, stating, “Miro and I have made the difficult decision to separate after many wonderful years together, and have decided to move on as friends, and hopefully onscreen characters somewhere down the road.”
AEW Ventures
In the months following his release from WWE in 2020, Miro inked a contract with All Elite Wrestling, where he became a one-time TNT Champion.
In September 2023, Perry would follow suit as she attempted to save Miro from a post-match attack from Powerhouse Hobbs in her AEW debut, which took place at the All Out pay-per-view. Upon signing with AEW, Perry has reprised her role as an on-screen manager, taking on the likes of Action Andretti and Andrade El Idolo.
Perry’s most recent appearance occurred at AEW Worlds End in December, in which she accompanied Andrade to the ring in his match against Miro. However, in a surprise turn of events, Perry turned on Andrade, subsequently causing him to lose his aforementioned match to Miro.
Paul Heyman was the first name announced as an inductee in the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2024. This was a completely non-controversial choice among the wrestling community. Even if one were to only consider his on-screen work as a manager, his efforts have been worthy of recognition.
Heyman’s career spanned a number of territories, leading to an important run at the head of The Dangerous Alliance that dominated WCW programming in 1992. From there, he served as the manager, consultant, or wise man to no fewer than three long-reigning world champions in WWE (in addition to briefer stints managing others).
Heyman was a key color commentator in the late stages of the Attitude Era as well, particularly during the Invasion angle, and then an on-screen authority figure.
On top of the work fans have seen firsthand, though, there are Heyman’s behind-the-scenes work, which include major contributions during multiple eras of WWE programming. Perhaps most importantly of all, though, he’s the evil genius most widely credited with masterminding ECW when it caught fire in the 1990s.
For all of the aforementioned reasons and more, Heyman should become the first non-wrestler WWE Hall of Fame inductee to go on last, officially headlining the Class of 2024.
The 2024 WWE Hall Of Fame Induction Ceremony Will Occur In Philadelphia
Paul Heyman was born and got his start in pro wrestling in New York. His first claims to national fame came in the south or in the Midwest with the AWA, depending on which promotions one most paid attention to.
However, when it comes to the heart of Heyman’s contributions to the wrestling business, it all comes back to Philadelphia. In the Cit of Brotherly Love, Heyman was the driving creative force behind Eastern Championship Wrestling’s reinvention as Extreme Championship Wrestling. More than a simple rebrand, Heyman tapped into the wrestling atmosphere. He recognized the limitations of the family friendly products WWE and WCW produced at the time and capitalized on an opportunity, promoting an edgier, more adult style.
Indeed, the general consensus is that the more realistic presentation WCW embraced in the Monday Night War and the Attitude Era that elevated WWE to such heights were directly influenced by ECW’s success. In addition to pushing a different style of wrestling, there were the individual stars Heyman cultivated. Some, like Mike Awesome, Raven, and The Sandman peaked in ECW as Heyman hid their weaknesses, capitalized on their strengths, and put the right creative behind them. Other acts like The Dudley Boyz, Taz, and Eddie Guerrero would become foundational contributors for bigger promotions for years to come—talents in whom Heyman recognized profound potential who might not have wound up on the radar of bigger companies had Heyman not spotlighted them first.
All of these successes were born out of a bingo hall in Philly. Hardcore mirrors the gritty spirit of the city and the city remains inextricably linked to the ECW legacy. As such, Heyman is quite arguably the wrestling legend most synonymous with Philadelphia and a perfect choice to headline during a WrestleMania weekend staged there.
Paul Heyman Is Part Of The Current WWE Main Event Picture
One of the struggles of the WWE Hall of Fame is that, in presenting the induction ceremony is a live event held in a reasonably sized arena, broadcasted live. There’s a pressure not to simply induct worthy names, but induct draws—names modern fans will recognize and be excited about. Main eventers tend to have staying power, such that even fans who weren’t watching their primes stil know the names and have at least some familiarity with their work. Mid-card acts, tag teams, and managers have a tougher go of it.
In 2023, Rey Mysterio headlined the Hall of Fame class. In addition to having had a lengthy, legendary career the luchador benefited from still being a part of the active roster, embroiled in a hot father-son feud at the time. This dynamic meant everyone who might attend a Hall of Fame induction ceremony—even children who weren’t yet born for either of Mysterio’s world title wins—were still familiar with him.
Paul Heyman has been active in wrestling since since the 1980s, meaning he truly spans generations of fans. But perhaps most importantly for his status as a Hall of Fame draw, he has been heavily embroiled in The Bloodline’s main event storyline that has dominated nearly four years of WWE programming. That’s in addition to standing in the corner of top champions like Brock Lesnar and CM Punk off and on for the preceding two decades. Thus, Heyman is that rare manager whose main event level credentials are beyond reproach.
Paul Heyman Could Deliver One Of The Greatest WWE Hall Of Fame Induction Speeches Ever
One of the awkward realities of WWE Hall of Fame induction ceremonies is that not all speeches are created equally. Regardless of star power, some talents are simply better talkers than others. Meanwhile, there are those talents who clearly take the induction seriously and craft speeches perfectly tailored to the moment, in contrast to those who take a more cavalier approach.
A big part of Paul Heyman’s legacy in wrestling is being an all-time great promo guy. He’s a brilliant wrestling mind with a real sense of history too, all of which is a recipe for a genuinely special induction speech. Rather than someone else being forced to follow the speech of the night, the most straightforward answer is to let Heyman close out the evening.
In the end, whether Paul Heyman goes on first, last, or somewhere in between for his WWE Hall of Fame induction, the bottom line is that after WrestleMania 40 weekend he’ll be a bona fide Hall of Famer. Few men—and particularly few men who were never proper wrestlers—were ever more worthy of this particular brand of recognition. There’s also a small sense of poeticism to Heyman being featured here as a sort of antithesis to Vince McMahon’s style and aesthetic. Heyman headlining may well further establish the launch of a new era in WWE.
Max Caster knows how to get under fans’ skin. He makes a living as a heel now, and the Bang Bang Scissor Gang gives him a lot of creative freedom. He may have gone over the line recently, but he was HACKED!
AEW’s resident rapper recently took to Twitter/X to said that all of his mean tweets last night was the result of a hacker. That being said, he’s not taking any of them down and agrees with each word that hacker had to say.
Max Caster’s “Hack”
Max Caster knows how to use his words in very creative ways. He recently went on a tear, where he released a few brutal tweets at fans.
On Monday morning, he logged back onto Twitter/X, where he made it very clear that he was the victim of a hack. This was all part of his character, because he’s not going to dismiss himself from anything that nefarious hacker said to fans.
He released a message along with a text graphic that let everyone know what he was up to. As he cleaned up the mess left by the hacker, he decided to leave all traces of this phony cyberattack.
From Max, Hello, users of X (formerly Twitter).
My followers, my former followers, and wrestling fans… Last night, while I was asleep, I was hacked by a hacker. That person proceeded to correspond antagonizing messages to you, the fans. They caused a lot of problems that I would never intend to start. Ironically, I stand behind all the opinions and statements made by my hacker, and I will not be deleting the posts. However, rest assured that I have full control of my account once again. Thank you for understanding.
Humbly, The Best Wrestler Alive
Never thought I’d have to do this… Please understand at this difficult time ? pic.twitter.com/KcfqlBBy06
You can check out a few of the mean tweets that Max Caster’s “hacker” sent out in the space below. They are still up, and there are a few more as well. He’s obviously not backing down from any of them.
We will have to see what Max Caster does next to catch attention. He is known for catching headlines with controversial remarks, and this one was incredibly inventive.
Max Caster and Anthony Bowens’ drive in AEW was put on another level when Billy Gunn joined them. We have to wonder whose idea it was to pull off this hacker deal, but we have to give him credit.
SEScoops will have more on this story, and so much more, in the pro wrestling world. Keep checking back for the headlines that you need.
