The Great Muta Shares Brutal Honesty Over UK’s ‘Wetherspoons’ Pub Food

0

Wrestling legend The Great Muta was left far from impressed with the food provided by massive UK pub chain ‘Wetherspoons’ during a recent trip to the United Kingdom. Muta, real name Keiji Mutoh, was part of Monopoly Events’ For The Love of Wrestling convention, the largest wrestling convention in Europe.

On X (fka Twitter), Muta shared that he was at Bishop Blaze, a Wetherspoons-brand pub located next to the stadium of Manchester United. Sampling a taste from home, Muta shared that he ordered a katsu chicken curry and a ramen bowl.

In a follow-up, Muta shard that the curry was “okay” but was not a fan of the ramen, declaring “what the heck is this?!” Muta wasn’t the only famous face in Wetherspoons as several wrestling stars from the convention, including Mark Henry, Tajiri, Debra, and Sonny Onoo, dined at the Bishop Blaze.

Muta’s experience at Bishop Blaze is not Wetherspoons’ first time stepping foot in the squared circle. Ahead of All In: London 2024, AEW TBS Champion Mercedes Mone shared an image of her Wetherspoons breakfast that fans felt left a lot to be desired.

image 9

For the Love of Wrestling has already confirmed dates for its 2026 event which will see the massive convention return to Manchester’s Bowlers Exhibition Centre. As for Muta, he is enjoying his retirement from the ring, though will probably opt for the fish ‘n chips over the ramen the next time he steps foot in a Wetherspoons.

Roxanne Perez Confident Ahead of Elimination Chamber Debut in Toronto

0

Roxanne Perez is feeling immensely confident about her future after qualifying for the Women’s Elimination Chamber match on the latest Raw. After defeating Raquel Rodriguez, Perez gloated to WWE’s camera crew backstage:

“The Prodigy is going to the Elimination Chamber! Because nobody is on my level! Not anybody from NXT, not anybody from Raw or SmackDown, and especially not Raquel Rodriguez!”

Perez’s harsh words didn’t stop there, as she claimed it was “embarrassing” for Perez to lose to Perez, who’s still a part of NXT. Signing off, Perez declared herself “your future Women’s World Champion,” sharing her confidence that she’ll have a title match at WrestleMania 41.

Perez may be confidence that she’ll challenge for the Women’s World Championship at WrestleMania but her journey to Las Vegas will not be easy. Perez will be joined by Liv Morgan, Bayley, Bianca Belair, Naomi, and Alexa Bliss. For Perez, this won’t just be a match pitting her against some of WWE’s top women, but it’ll mark her Elimination Chamber debut, the only woman entering the match for the first time.

The Prodigy’s win on Raw will only further fuel talks that a full-time move to WWE’s main roster is coming for the two-time former NXT Women’s Champion. Win or lose at Elimination Chamber, fans can expect plenty more of Roxanne Perez in the WWE spotlight.

Cody Rhodes Defends WWE Title After Raw In Charlotte, NC

0

The fans in Charlotte, North Carolina were treated to a special appearance from Cody Rhodes after the February 17, edition of WWE Monday Night Raw went off the air. In a special dark match, Rhodes received a hero’s welcome as he arrived in Charlotte to defend the Undisputed WWE Championship against Carmelo Hayes.

These two have a history, with Hayes ambushing Rhodes after an episode of Monday Night Raw in January 2025. This week, however, it was Rhodes who had the last laugh as he retained his title against ‘Him.’

Rhodes’ victory marks another succesful title defense for the Undisputed WWE Champion who has held the gold since WrestleMania 40 in April 2024. This match marked Rhodes’ 57th succesful title defense as the American Nightmare is proving himself as a workhorse champion.

With another win under his belt, Rhodes’ attention now turns to the Elimination Chamber 2025 Premium Live Event. While Rhodes isn’t set to compete in Toronto, the Men’s Chamber match will determine who will face the American Nightmare at WrestleMania 41. On Raw, Seth Rollins earned the final spot in the Chamber match, joining Drew McIntyre, John Cena, CM Punk, Logan Paul, and Damian Priest.

Final Two Elimination Chamber Spots Claimed On WWE Raw

0

The final spots in this year’s Elimination Chamber matches were claimned during the February 17, edition of WWE Monday Night Raw, giving a clear picture of what fans can expect next month.

Perez Punches Her Ticket

In out first of two qualifying matches, NXT’s Roxanne Perez earned a spot in the Women’s Chamber with a big win over Raquel Rodriguez. Perez scored the pinfall after hitting Pop Rox on Perez who’d been distracted with the ringside situation between Liv Morgan, Bianca Belair, and Naomi.

Perez joins a star-studded field of competitors that’ll include Bianca Belair, Naomi, Liv Morgan, Alexa Bliss, and Naomi. This win on Raw was also a longtime coming for Perez who hadn’t won a singles match since her October 1, 2024 win over Giulia during WWE NXT’s debut on The CW.

Seth Rollins Enters the Chamber.

The final spot in the Men’s Elimination Chamber Qualifier saw Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins defeat Finn Balor during this week’s Raw in Charlotte, North Carolina. With his win, Rollins will join John Cena, Logan Paul, Damian Priest, CM Punk, and Drew McIntyre. Rollins has faced all five men individually at WWE Premium Live Events and will now have to take all of them on once again.

The winner will earn a shot at The Undisputed WWE Championship held by Cody Rhodes, who returned to WWE in 2022 with a win over Seth Rollins. Now, McIntyre has the opportunity to get payback for that loss, and take the WWE Championship in the process, if he survives the Elimination Chamber.

Raj Dhesi On Future Wrestling Contract: “Everything Would Have To Be Right”

0

Raj Dhesi isn’t opposed to signing with another major promotion in wrestling, but only under the right circumstances. Speaking with with Monopoly Events’ Jamal Niaz at For The Love of Wrestling in Manchester, England, the former WWE Champion reflected on his future in the ring.

As far as signing with another major promotion, everything would have to be right. Storyline, business would have to make sense. Everything would have to make sense.”

Dhesi competed as Jinder Mahal for years, during which he became WWE Champion, U.S. Champion, and 24/7 Champion. Comparing WWE today to his tenure with the promotion, Dhesi wished that WWE had scaled back on live events during his run.

I wish we would have had this schedule now with less emphasis on live events because we were worked pretty heavily. Our schedules were quite intense with live events.”

Some fans have predicted that Dhesi will land in AEW which has become home to other former WWE Superstars and Champions. Though Fhesi has a history with Tony Khan, he explained that “AEW, not at an official level [has reached out.] Nobody has on a really official level.”

For now, Dhesi is keeping himself active on the indpendents where he has quickly become a top draw. As far as a future in a major promotion is concerned, Dhesi isn’t opposed to a contract, but only under the right circumstances.

Dakota Kai Becomes #1 Contender To WWE Women’s Intercontinental Title On Raw

0

WWE is building a new rivalry on Monday Night Raw between Dakota Kai and Women’s Intercontinental Champion Lyra Valkyria.

On this week’s episode of Raw, Dakota Kai earned a title opportunity by winning a match to determine the number one contender for the Women’s Intercontinental Championship. The February 17 edition of Raw featured a major women’s division bout, as Kai faced Ivy Nile. In the end, Kai secured the victory, pinning Nile after delivering her signature G2K finisher.

With this win, Kai will challenge Valkyria for the Women’s Intercontinental Championship, though the exact date of their title match was not announced.

Valkyria became the inaugural champion by defeating Kai on the January 13 edition of Raw. Since then, she has yet to defend the title but did compete in the Royal Rumble, which was won by Charlotte Flair, and later lost to Bayley in an Elimination Chamber qualifying match.

For Kai, she has won two straight tag team matches with IYO SKY. They beat Pure Fusion Collective (Shayna Baszler & Zoey Stark) on the January 20th episode of Raw and then The Judgment Day (Liv Morgan & Raquel Rodriguez) on the February 10th edition.

IShowSpeed Thought He Was Going to Die at the WWE Royal Rumble

0

The WWE Royal Rumble featured a shocking collision between Intercontinental Champion Bron Breakker and internet sensation IShowSpeed, culminating in a thunderous spear that quickly went viral on social media.

Speed, the popular streamer and influencer, had made a brief yet memorable appearance in the Rumble match. Emerging with a neck brace and crutches, he was in no condition to withstand the force of Breakker’s devastating spear. The impact sent Speed flying across the ring, and the moment rapidly gained traction online, amassing millions of views across various social media platforms.

The unexpected attack left fans and commentators stunned. Adding to the intrigue, Breakker’s post-match comments suggested an open invitation for Speed’s return. Breakker stated that he would welcome Speed back to WWE should he seek revenge, hinting at a possible future storyline between the two.

Following the event, Speed admitted the experience was physically overwhelming. Speaking on his YouTube stream, he described the aftermath:

“I ain’t gonna cap. After this, the day after Bron Breakker speared me, I had probably one of the worst headaches. I couldn’t move. I could not move, bro. I thought I was nearly about to die. Real talk. That was maybe one of the craziest, worst experiences ever. Real talk. I’m being so serious.”

Whether this was a one-off encounter or the beginning of a longer-term storyline remains to be seen.

Kevin Owens vs. Sami Zayn In An Unsanctioned match Set For WWE Elimination Chamber

0

A heated rivalry has led to an unsanctioned match being added to WWE Elimination Chamber. On Raw, Sami Zayn challenged Kevin Owens to a match in Toronto, the city where their storied history began.

Despite Zayn’s insistence, General Manager Adam Pearce informed him that he wasn’t medically cleared to compete. However, Zayn refused to leave the ring until the match was granted. In response, Pearce agreed but stipulated that it would be an unsanctioned match—meaning no rules and anything goes.

This decision follows Owens’ attack on Zayn two weeks prior on Raw, after Zayn’s loss to CM Punk in an Elimination Chamber qualifying match. Owens later explained in a social media video that his actions were retaliation for Zayn’s perceived betrayal at the Royal Rumble, where Zayn failed to assist him in winning the WWE Championship.

WWE Elimination Chamber takes place on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at the Rogers Centre in Toronto. The pre-show starts at 5 p.m. ET, with the main card beginning at 6 p.m. ET. Here is the updated match card:

Men’s Elimination Chamber Match

Women’s Elimination Chamber Match
Liv Morgan vs. Alexa Bliss vs. Bianca Belair vs. Bayley vs. Naomi vs. TBD

Why The Undertaker Never Jumped to WCW – Even When WWE Was Losing

0

During WWE’s darkest days in the Monday Night Wars, when WCW was dominating for 83 straight weeks, many top stars jumped ship for bigger paydays and lighter schedules. By late 1997, the “Hart” of the World Wrestling Federation had been ripped out and discarded, but the “Soul” never left.

Speaking on Busted Open, The Deadman revealed that despite tempting offers, he refused to abandon WWE—even when things looked bleak.

“I knew that man [Vince McMahon] gave me an opportunity… there was no way in hell I was going there [WCW], no matter the money,” he said.

Taker recalled a particularly sobering moment when he walked out to a WWE event and saw a near-empty arena.

“I couldn’t see a soul. We had to pack everyone on the hard camera side to make it look full. I remember thinking, ‘What the hell is going on?’”

Despite WCW stars like Kevin Nash personally calling him with massive financial offers, Undertaker remained loyal to WWE. His frustration with WCW stemmed from the fact that the company once told him he’d never draw money. Even in WWE’s worst years, his pride wouldn’t let him return.

In a surprising twist, Taker admitted that if he had an amateur wrestling background, he might have considered trying his luck in MMA instead.

“UFC was coming up big at the time. If I had a wrestling base, I probably would have tested those waters.”

But in the end, The Undertaker chose to stick with WWE—and as history shows, things worked out just fine for the Dead Man his his legacy.

The Undertaker on CM Punk: “He’s Actually Very Pleasant To Be Around, It’s Like a Different Guy”

The Undertaker on CM Punk: “He’s Actually Very Pleasant To Be Around, It’s Like a Different Guy”

CM Punk’s return to WWE has been one of the most talked-about stories in wrestling, but perhaps the biggest endorsement yet comes from The Undertaker himself. Speaking on Busted Open, the WWE legend praised Punk’s growth, noting a significant change in his demeanor since his earlier run with the company.

“He’s actually very pleasant to be around… it’s like a different guy. It’s like a weight has been lifted off of him,” The Undertaker said.

Punk, known for his outspoken nature and past backstage tensions, was often seen as difficult to work with. However, Taker now sees him as someone who is engaged, personable, and willing to share his knowledge with younger talent.

“Before he left the first time, he was very aloof, sometimes combative. One of those guys that wanted to fight for every hill, even if it wasn’t in a good way,” he explained. “Now, he’s cutting up with people, engaging in conversations. It tells me that’s probably a consistent thing for him now.”

Punk recently appeared at the WWE Performance Center to mentor up-and-coming talent, further showcasing this newfound maturity. Undertaker believes that if Punk chooses to, he could become a respected veteran who helps shape the future of WWE.

As Punk prepares for his Elimination Chamber match, his in-ring abilities remain top-tier—but perhaps his biggest transformation has been behind the scenes.

The Undertaker and CM Punk

The Undertaker and CM Punk’s rivalry culminated during their WrestleMania 29 program in 2013, following Punk’s victory in a fatal four-way match to challenge Undertaker’s undefeated streak. Their relationship had started years earlier, with Undertaker mentoring Punk on WWE’s dress code policies, maintaining a generally positive working relationship despite occasional tensions.

The storyline intensified following the real-life passing of Paul Bearer, Undertaker’s longtime manager. Punk incorporated Bearer’s death into the narrative, stealing his symbolic urn and using it to taunt Undertaker, culminating in a controversial segment where Punk poured the urn’s ashes over his opponent. Their WrestleMania match featured Living Colour performing Punk’s entrance theme and several dramatic near-falls before Undertaker secured victory with two Tombstone Piledrivers.

The match received widespread acclaim, earning 4½ stars from Dave Meltzer and ranking as WrestleMania 29’s highest-rated contest. Paul Heyman later revealed he had suggested Punk break the streak to potentially prevent his WWE departure. Both performers have expressed mutual respect, with Undertaker praising their match and dismissing rumors of backstage animosity.

Olympic Boxer Delicious Orie Rejects WWE to Chase Boxing Dreams

0

British Olympic boxer d has revealed that WWE approached him with a contract offer, even inviting him to their Performance Center in Florida before he ultimately decided to continue his boxing journey.

Speaking with IFL TV, Orie shared details of his experience with WWE, which first reached out to him during the Olympic Games.

“They contacted me during the Olympic Games to come down and see what it’s about,” Orie explained. “I got offered a contract … you build up a name for yourself, a character, choose whether you’re a babyface or a heel … then, over time, you can be confident enough to get on SmackDown or Raw.”

Orie was impressed by the professionalism and confidence of WWE’s athletes but ultimately chose to pursue his boxing career instead.

“When I went out there, it was just fantastic. I got to meet so many amazing wrestlers,” he said. “The biggest thing I took away was confidence—how to express yourself and your feelings to the mass audience.”

Despite the opportunity, Orie took time to reflect on his future and concluded that boxing remained his true passion.

“I was thinking to myself, what do I want out of life? What do I want to look back on when I’m 50 or 60? Boxing, I believe, will really do that for me,” Orie stated. “Wrestling is always there—the door is always open—but my main purpose in life is to do it in the boxing ring.”

Now signed with Queensbury Promotions, Orie is set to make his professional debut, choosing to chase championship glory inside the ring rather than the squared circle.

WWE No Longer Tests Wrestlers for Marijaana, Says Minchin

0

WWE has quietly changed its drug testing policy, officially removing marijuana from its list of banned substances. This change was confirmed by Mia ‘Michin’ Yim during a recent appearance on the Speak Easy Podcast, where she discussed the role cannabis plays in her recovery routine.

“Marijuana used to be on the drug list, and they took that off years ago. So when I get home on Saturdays, I’ll do that and just chill out all day.”

WWE allowing marijuana marks a major shift from the company’s previous stance where wrestlers could face fines or worse for testing positive.

In 2006, Rob Van Dam was suspended after being found with 18 grams of marijuana and five Vicodin pills during a police stop. The issue would see WWE quickly force Rob to lose both the WWE and ECW World Championships, accolades he’d never hold again in his career.

The Godfather On Vince McMahon’s Views On Marijuana

On the podcast, Yim explained the importance of recovery in professional wrestling, noting that maintaining her body is crucial given the toll the industry puts on her body.

“I go to a chiropractor once a week, cryotherapy once a week, a massage depending on how I feel… but if I had a hardcore match, I’m taking the whole weekend off.”

WWE accepting the use of marijuana aligns with the broader trend in sports and entertainment, with leagues including the NBA and NFL relaxing their stance. Many athletes have advocated for marijuana as a safer alternative to opioids for pain management, and WWE’s decision could signal a more progressive approach to wrestler wellness.

With WrestleMania season underway, Superstars are working tirelessly to prove they deserve to be on the two-night card in Las Vegas, and this policy shift will allow for Yim and others to help their bodies recovery through marijuana usage. As Yim put it, “If I’m not taking care of my body, my career isn’t going to last.”

Jade Cargill Back at the Performance Center Training for WWE Return

0

WWE Superstar Jade Cargill was back at the Performance Center in Orlando, FL on Monday, according to PWInsider. The belief is that creative plans for her return will be set very soon, though her exact return date remains uncertain. She has reportedly been training at the Performance Center for over a month in preparation for her comeback.

Cargill has been absent from WWE TV since the November 22 episode of WWE SmackDown, but that appears to be changing. A shocking moment occurred during a Women’s United States Championship Triple Threat qualifying match featuring Bianca Belair, Chelsea Green, and Blair Davenport. Midway through the match.

The arena’s video screen revealed that Belair’s tag team partner, Jade Cargill, had been attacked backstage. The footage showed Cargill’s head being slammed into a car windshield, leaving it visibly shattered. The identity of the attacker remains unknown, though speculation suggests it could be someone linked to the ongoing match.

While off TV, Cargill has continued her training and is gradually working her way back. Initially, the expectation was that she would be out for an extended period due to a legitimate injury, with estimates suggesting at least three months or longer. However, conflicting reports have emerged regarding whether her absence is injury-related or purely a storyline.

WWE 2K25: Released Wrestlers Who Are Still Included in the Game

0

WWE released several names from its roster in recent weeks, but those cut from the company aren’t entirely gone just yet. Instead, several names who’ve been given the dreaded pink slip will still be playable as part of WWE 2K25.

Released talent who will be playable in WWE 2K25 include:

  • Duke Hudson
  • Akam
  • Rezar
  • Blair Davenport
  • Cedric Alexander
  • Luke Gallows
  • Karl Anderson
  • Giovanni Vinci
  • Sonya Deville
  • Isla Dawn
  • Elektra Lopez

Paul Ellering was also among those released from WWE. While the Hall of Famer/Final Testament alum won’t be a playable character in WWE 2K25, he will be a non-playable manager in the game.

The inclusion of these released Superstars demonstrate how quickly things can change in WWE. While these talents hoped that WWE 2K25 would just be the latest in a series of games they would be a part of, next month’s instalment will most likely be the last time they are playable in a WWE video game.

These released talents will be part of the largest roster in the history of WWE video games with stars from the past and present. With over 300 names confirmed for the game, in addition to Wyatt Sicks-themed DLC, fans will be able to recreate their favorite matches or create never-before-seen contests in the upcoming game.

WWE 2K25 will release on March 14, with the Deadman and Bloodline Editions of the game launching a week earlier on March 7. With WWE 2K Mobile also announced, this year is shaping up to be a massive one for wrestling fans and gamers alike.

Lyra Valkyria Eyes WrestleMania 41 Dream Match Against Asuka

0

WWE’s first Women’s Intercontinental Champion, Lyra Valkyria, has made an impressive impact since joining the main roster in 2024. After reaching the Queen of the Ring tournament finals and capturing the inaugural Women’s Intercontinental Championship, she now sets her sights on WrestleMania 41.

In a recent interview with Pubity, Valkyria expressed her desire to face Asuka at the upcoming event in Las Vegas this April.

“A match that got away from me would be facing Asuka,” Valkyria revealed. “That would be pretty massive. When I was first debuting on Monday Night Raw, I was supposed to face her at Backlash in France, but she got hurt. Instead, I wrestled Dakota Kai, which was poetic since we later had a history-making moment together. But facing Asuka is definitely a match I’d love to circle back to.”

WWE’s biggest event of the year will take place across two nights on April 19-20 at Allegiant Stadium, where Valkyria hopes to make her WrestleMania debut memorable.

WWE Star Asuka’s X/Twitter Account Hacked

Rising Through the Ranks

Valkyria’s impressive run includes victories over prominent stars like Dakota Kai, Iyo Sky, Kairi Sane, and Becky Lynch. Her NXT Women’s Championship victory against Lynch in 2023 proved to be a career-defining moment.

Lynch, a future Hall of Famer, has been instrumental in Valkyria’s development. “Becky has always made it clear that she’s there for me,” Valkyria shared. “She told me to never doubt what I bring to the table because it’s more than I realize. Betting on myself is the best advice she’s given me.”

With Lynch’s rumored return to the ring, speculation has grown about a potential all-Irish championship clash at WrestleMania.

Jake Roberts Names Andre the Giant, “The Smartest Man in Wrestling”

0

Andre the Giant is known for his sheer size and strength, but according to Jake “The Snake” Roberts, he also boasted a supersized wrestling IQ. On Six Feet Under with Mark Calaway, Roberts recalled facing Andre in Grand Rapids. During a moment when Andre was in control, Roberts was surprised that the giant backed away in fear.

Roberts was confused—until he turned and saw a 12-year-old girl standing in the ring, holding his snake. Rather than break character, Andre improvised by rolling out of the ring, grabbing a microphone and demanding security arrest the child. Andre’s performance clearly worked, as cops got in the ring and grabbed the girl, who was crying while Andre laughed in character.

“Andre was a thinker. He saw a perfect moment and made it work.”

Roberts and Andre would feud on TV with the French giant being petrified of Jake’s snake Damian. Despite initial concerns about working with Andre, Roberts is thrilled that fans still remember their program to this day.

“I thought, ‘There’s no way in hell I can make this match work’… Most guys would have just thrown the snake out of the ring. Andre turned it into something that people still talk about today.”

The Undertaker, also a massive Andre fan, was awestruck as he heard of the Giant’s in-ring wisdom and described Andre’s ability to adapt on the fly “next level storytelling.” Even decades after Andre’s tragically young passing in 1993, stories like these prove why the Giant wasn’t just an in-ring spectacle, but a mastermind of the craft.

How Vince McMahon Nearly Screwed The Undertaker at WrestleMania

0

The Undertaker’s WrestleMania legacy was a staple of WWE for decades, but nearly took a a disastrous turn early on thanks to Vince McMahon.

On his Six Feet Under podcast, Mark Calaway recalled McMahon being furious with him over his WrestleMania 8 match with Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts over a change to the finish.

“‘What the hell was that?! Nobody can see it!’, he recalled Vince yelling.

He eviscerated me. Oh my gosh, he lit me up.”

The planned finish was for The Undertaker to hit a Tombstone on Roberts in the ring, eaning the Deadman his second WrestleMania win. However, in the heat of the moment, he decided to deliver it on the floor instead.

While Calaway, still a relative newcomer to WWE, took the verbal onslaught, the veteran Roberts knew it was wise to avoid the irate McMahon.

“I didn’t shower. I just grabbed my stuff and got the hell out.”

Undertaker admitted that the moment taught him a hard lesson about following direct instructions in WWE. From that night on, he made sure to double-check finishes with McMahon before heading to the ring.

The Phenom’s WrestleMania streak would continue on until 2014, when Brock Lesnar conquered the Undertaker in New Orleans. Though McMahon was an obvious key part in the Deadman’s future success at the event, this story is a reminder of how one small misstep could have changed everything.

The WCW Contract Dispute That Drove Jake Roberts to Addiction

0

Jake “The Snake” Roberts has had one of the most tumultuous careers in professional wrestling history. On Six Feet Under with Mark Callaway, Roberts revealed how a WCW contract dispute triggered his worst personal spiral—and ultimately fueled his cocaine addiction.

In 1992, Roberts had negotiated a multi-million dollar deal with WCW’s Kip Frye. However, before he could sign, Vince McMahon enforced a 90-day no-compete clause as part of his WWF exit. When Roberts’ non-compete expired, Frye was gone, and Bill Watts had taken over WCW.

Watts discarded Roberts’ original contract and offered him a fraction of the deal, telling him:

“You and I both know you can’t go back. You’re gonna take what we give you.”

Roberts accepted, but WCW then stripped him of his signature gimmick by banning his snake.

“They took my gimmick away. Now I’m back to zero. What the f*** can I do?” he recalled.

That was the breaking point. “That right there pushed me off the deep end, brother. I really dug into the coke after that.”

Roberts acknowledged that his subsequent 20-year cocaine addiction nearly killed him, but at the time, he was just trying to cope with the loss of his career.

“Not many people have a 20-year cocaine career… by the grace of God, I’m not dead.”

His exit from WCW triggered years of struggles with substance abuse, financial problems, and personal demons. Looking back, Roberts recognizes that wrestling politics and addiction were his greatest adversaries.

“Jealousy in wrestling has killed more people than war ever has,” he said.

Roberts’ story illustrates how a single career setback can have devastating personal consequences—and how the wrestling industry has often failed to protect its biggest stars.

Buddy Matthews Suffers Ankle Injury at AEW Grand Slam Australia

0

AEW star Buddy Matthews suffered an ankle injury during his match against Kazuchika Okada at AEW Grand Slam Australia.

The injury occurred as Matthews was entering the ring at the beginning of the match, which ultimately contributed to his defeat.

The situation gained attention when Matthews briefly posted, then deleted, a social media message suggesting his injury was connected to AEW’s ring size controversy.

“#AEWGrandSlamAustralia – If it wasn’t a 16×16 SHT wrestling ring!” he wrote. “1: Wouldn’t have destroyed my ankle on my entrance due to holes in the padding. 2: Okada wouldn’t have been able to put his foot on the rope & I’d be champion. Sht happens…”

His wife, WWE Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley, has acknowledged the injury on social media, and recent photos show Matthews using crutches during their honeymoon celebrations.

The timing is particularly unfortunate as Matthews and Ripley are currently celebrating their recent marriage. Despite the injury, the newlyweds are continuing with their honeymoon plans, though Matthews is now navigating the festivities with mobility assistance.

WWE Superstar Naomi envisions a new generation of Total Divas, sharing her excitement for potential cast members during a recent Casual Conversations interview.

“It was great to document us in the early days,” reflected the original cast member. “Now, it would be incredible to see the new generation at the start of their careers.”

When discussing potential cast members, Naomi quickly highlighted rising star Tiffany Stratton.

“Tiffany is such an interesting person. Fans would love to see that other side of her outside the ring. She’s young, talented, and just starting out—imagine capturing that journey.”

The veteran performer emphasized how the show’s focus on real-life WWE couples resonated with viewers.

“One of the best things about Total Divas was seeing our personal lives. Managing relationships in this business is tough, and I think fans would love to see how different couples handle it.”

As for her own potential return, Naomi expressed enthusiasm about reuniting with fellow original cast members.

“Some of us are still here, and I think we’d need to make some cameos!” she said.

With WWE’s reality TV portfolio continuing to expand through shows like Total Bellas and Love & WWE, a Total Divas revival could be perfectly timed to showcase the company’s newest generation of female Superstars.
