Adam Cole On Which Was The Hardest Part Of Leaving WWE

0

While everyone believed for a long time that Adam Cole’s next destination will be AEW, the wrestling star himself took a good while before making the decision. The former WWE star recently appeared on the Oral Sessions podcast of Renee Paquette. He talked about a number of things including his time in the company and more.

Discussing his call to make the jump from WWE to AEW, Cole revealed that he was making his peace with the decision even a couple of days before his AEW debut:

“I’ll never forget it, but it was a couple days before All Out, where I was still kind of making my decision. It had gotten to a point where we were getting press close. Don’t get me wrong, I was pretty sure from the gate that AEW was where I wanted to go. But it was still not an easy decision to make. 9 year old me fell in love with pro wrestling because of WWE, so it was a ‘oh, what do I do?’”

Adam Cole Reveals Which Was The Hardest Part About Leaving WWE

Adam Cole also discussed how he will miss interacting with various people in the WWE locker room. He claimed that not being able to be part of DaParty on UpUpDownDown was probably the hardest part about leaving WWE:

“Very hard. That was probably the hardest part of the decision I think, I really formed a close bond with Woods and Swiss (Cesaro) and Breeze over the pandemic.

DaParty is a video series on the UpUpDownDown YouTube channel that emerged during the COVID-19 pandemic last year. It saw the team of Adam Cole, Xavier Woods, Tyler Breeze, and Cesaro playing various games together.

Later in the interview, Adam Cole revealed that the four have a group chat and they talk to each other every day. He said that it makes him feel like he hasn’t lost that connection but he still misses being part of their videos.

Marty Scurll Announced For Wrestling Return Next Month

0

‘The Villain’ Marty Scurll has been announced for making his wrestling return for indie promotion CWA for a show in San Juan, Puerto Rico next month.

The promotion posted a teaser promoting the former ROH star’s appearance on their Instagram channel. It confirmed that the wrestling star will be a part of their Halloween Fan Fest on Saturday, October 23.

Scurll has been away from wrestling for over a year after being named in the speaking out movement last year. He has not competed in a match since March 2020.

Prior to the controversy, the former Bullet Club member was set to become the head booker for ROH after re-signing with the promotion back in January 2020.

However, these plans were scrapped and Marty Scurll went on a hiatus from pro wrestling after being accused. Ring Of Honor then announced that the two parties have parted ways in January this year.

The former ROH TV champion also shot a storyline for NJPW Strong during a taping in January. Though his segments never aired after backlash from fans.

There is no word yet on what Marty Scurll will be doing at the upcoming show. It would be interesting to see how fans react to his return.

Did AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam Beat WWE Raw In Rating Once Again?

0

AEW Dynamite saw a significant increase in the viewership for their Grand Slam special. Though it narrowly missed on another victory over Raw in the key demo.

This week’s episode of the show featuring the match between the AEW champion Kenny Omega and Bryan Danielson among others drew a total of 1.273 million viewers according to Showbuzz Daily.

This is an 8.34% increase in viewership compared to last week. Last week’s episode of Dynamite featuring the tag team match between Jon Moxley & Eddie Kingston and 2point0 in the main event had drawn 1.175 million viewers.

The much-hyped episode drew a 0.48 rating in the 18-49 demographic. This is also an increase of 9.09% compared to last week’s episode which had done a 0.44 rating.

However, Dynamite narrowly missed beating Monday Night Raw in the key demo which drew 0.49 ratings in the 18-49 demographic. This ends Dynamite’s two-week streak of beating Raw in the key demo.

AEW’s flagship show ranked #1 in the cable top 150 for the 18-49 demo for the fifth week in a row. The show ranked #22 in the overall viewership for the night on cable.

This was the third-highest audience in the history of Dynamite and the second-highest rating for the show this year. The Grand Slam special also created a record for the largest live audience in the company’s history with over 20,000 fans in attendance.

Scarlett Bordeaux & Karrion Kross Announce Engagement

0

WWE NXT superstar Scarlett Bordeaux has confirmed her engagement with the former NXT champion and her longtime on-screen partner Karrion Kross.

The female star revealed the news on social sites earlier today. She posted a photo of the duo with a ring in her hand and told everyone to ‘pop the champagne’

A number of people have reacted to this news. Numerous wrestling personalities have responded to Bordeaux’s post on Instagram to congratulate the duo.

The list of names that have congratulated the couple includes past and present WWE stars such as Kayla Braxton and Matt Rehwoldt as well as AEW stars such as Sammy Guevara and more:

Scarlett Bordeaux and Karrion Kross have been dating since their time in Impact Wrestling. Both the stars had asked for their release from the promotion at the same time as well.

Though while Impact decided to release Bordeaux early, they kept Kross under contract. He was released about 6 months later than Scarlett back in December 2019.

The duo has since signed with WWE and they were paired together for their run in NXT as well. Kross was called up to the main roster earlier this year but there is no word yet on when officials are planning to bring Bordeaux up.

Has WWE Already Canceled Joe Gacy?

0

WWE’s brand new “woke” character may have already gotten the boot.

On the Sept. 21 episode of NXT 2.0, Joe Gacy made his debut for the brand. Gacy sat in the middle of the ring and appeared to play a character depicting the modern-day Twitter user. It was quite clear that the point of the character was to have him be portrayed as an over-the-top “social justice warrior.”

Here’s what Gacy said in his promo (h/t New York Post).

“NXT 2.0 is full of conflict, from the smallest microaggression to the most heinous grudges. This is a place where we settle our differences. I come to you tonight with a mindset of conflict resolution where I don’t need to use my male privilege to get what I want.

“I understand just like you that life isn’t fair. I believe that we can achieve unity and tolerance for us all, and I can be the man that will show you we can achieve peace in this safe space. And it starts tonight!”

It appears that WWE is quickly removing all traces of the Gacy character. His match with Cameron Grimes was taken off the promotion’s YouTube channel. It appears that only this week’s NXT image gallery and the Peacock version of the latest NXT 2.0 episode are the only remaining traces of Gacy’s new gimmick.

Some major media outlets have picked up on the Joe Gacy character. Many of those outlets heavily sway right-wing. Those outlets have taken Gacy’s character as a shot at left-wing politics.

SEScoops will keep you posted on the future of the Joe Gacy character.

Rich Swann ‘Cherished’ His Match With Kenny Omega

0

Rich Swann is honored to have shared the ring with Kenny Omega and would like to do it again.

Swann was the Impact Wrestling World Champion as well as the TNA World Champion before Omega challenged for the gold. The title match took place at the Rebellion PPV back in April. Omega ended up scoring the pinfall to lay claim to the gold.

During an interview with Sportsman, Swann reflected on getting to go one-on-one with “The Best Bout Machine.”

“I lost my IMPACT World Championship and TNA World Championship, but at the end of the day, it’ll come back around, you never know. Just that feeling of having that high pressure and being able to deliver, it was something that I cherish and don’t take for granted. Kenny Omega, he’s one of the hardest hitter, smoothest performers, great talker. Just to be put in that light and put up there with somebody that has been in a high regard, number one in Pro Wrestling Illustrated, it’s something that I would love to do again and I loved the experience.”

Swann had been Impact World Champion for 183 days. Omega’s reign lasted 110 days. He saw that title run come to an end on the debut episode of AEW Rampage. Omega was beaten by Christian Cage. Cage ended up retiring the TNA World Championship.

A future rematch between Swann and Omega may not be impossible but we could be waiting a while. Omega appears to be done with Impact for the time being. With cross-promotion in full effect, one can’t rule out the possibility.

Bryan Danielson Speaks Out Following Kenny Omega Match

0

All Elite Wrestling talent Bryan Danielson shared his thoughts after his match with AEW Heavyweight Champion Kenny Omega last night.

He made his AEW in-ring debut at AEW Dynamite Grand Slam at the Arthur Ashe Stadium in Queens, NY. The match with Omega went to a 30-minute time limit draw, with AEW fans praising his performance. Danielson, in a tweet, gave his thoughts on the event and his appreciation for the fans.

“When you love what you do, you never work a day in your life. Thank you to the incredible fans in NY last night,” said Danielson. He continues to say, “Thank you to AEW and its wrestlers for putting in the work to make last night possible.”

Bryan Danielson vs Kenny Omega

The long-awaited dream match between Danielson and Omega ended without a winner. The match went back and forth, with both wrestlers having their moments of offense. Danielson tried to apply his submission move on Omega, but the time expired. It was a non-title match, but a possible rematch could be for the AEW Heavyweight Championship.

The next AEW Pay-Per-View Full Gear AEW is November 13th at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. A rematch between the two could earn AEW a reasonable PPV buy rate. However, Omega doesn’t seem interested in a rematch.

Possible Opponent for Kenny Omega

Hangman Adam Page is a potential opponent for the champion. His single match record in AEW is 11-1 this year. He was also in a rivalry with Omega before he took time away to be with his family in August. It’s unclear when he will return, but AEW has a promotional poster of him for AEW Dynamite and Rampage on November 17th. However, AEW hasn’t said that he would return for upcoming shows before the advertised date.

For now, Danielson is still feuding with Omega. After their first match in AEW, a rematch doesn’t seem unlikely.

Changes Made To Chris Jericho’s Cruise

0

Some additions and removals have been made to Chris Jericho’s Rock N’ Rager at Sea Cruise.

We’re just under a month away from the return of Jericho’s cruise. Some big names have already been announced such as Kurt Angle and Will Ospreay. The additions keep on rolling, but there have also been two omissions.

Here is the latest update on the cruise courtesy of Sixthman.

“We’re happy to announce these awesome AEW wrestlers joining the Triple Whammy! Welcome Wardlow, Rebel, Sonny Kiss, Chaos Project, and Ashley D’Amboise to Chris Jericho’s Rock ‘N’ Wrestling Rager at Sea!

“Kick Axe and Sitting Ringside with Dave Penzer are no longer able to join us on Triple Whammy, however we hope to welcome them aboard in the future.”

Jericho’s cruise is set to begin on Oct. 21. It’ll run through Oct. 25. Jericho says he’s been working with AEW head honcho Tony Khan in putting together talent for the event. AEW Women’s World Champion Britt Baker, Orange Cassidy, Lance Archer, Powerhouse Hobbs, Ricky Starks, Kris Statlander, Jamie Hayter, and more AEW wrestlers are set to compete.

Stick with SEScoops for more changes including additions or removals that could be in store for the Rock N’ Rager at Sea Cruise.

Kenny Omega Feels “90% Of The Wrestlers In WWE” Would Want To Join AEW

0

We have seen a good number of superstars leaving WWE to join AEW in the past couple years. If we believe Kenny Omega, then 90% of the current WWE roster would be interested in making this jump too.

The AEW champion recently had an interview with Tokyo Sports. He talked about things such as the state of pro wrestling during the COVID-19 pandemic and more.

While talking about his AEW Grand Slam opponent Bryan Danielson who recently left WWE for AEW, Kenny was asked if he thinks more WWE superstars will be jumping over to AEW to which he replied positively:

“There will definitely be a lot more of them coming over in the future. I feel that about 90% of the wrestlers in WWE would want to jump over to AEW.”

When asked if there is a particular WWE talent he would like to see joining the AEW roster, Kenny Omega took the name of the Universal champion Roman Reigns:

“There’s been quite a few already, so I’m not lacking in opponents. I don’t exactly have anyone I have in mind but….if I must say I’d love to go against Roman Reigns. It would be a great opportunity to show who’s the real World Champion.”

Omega also named a few Japanese stars he would like to see join their promotion. He listed people such as Kota Ibushi and Kazuchika Okada as talents he would love to see joining the AEW roster.

CM Punk On Who He Thinks Is The Best Wrestler In The World Right Now

0

The name of CM Punk has been associated with the best in the world conversation for a long period. He even embraced this gimmick for a run in WWE. Though according to the former WWE star himself, the current time is the toughest to single out one wrestler as the best among others because there are so many greats.

Punk was asked who he thinks is the best wrestler in the world currently during an interview on Rasslin’ with Brandon Walker. Replying to it, the former WWE champion mentioned how he used to be able to choose one name in the past:

“You know, for the first time in I think a long time, the waters as muddy as it has been, I remember in 2002 – 2003, I was like, Eddie Guerrero is the best wrestler in the world, easily. I remember in 2004, Samoa Joe is the best wrestler in the world. It’s kind of the whole animus for the best in the world thing.”

CM Punk Thinks It’s Very Subjective Nowadays

CM Punk continued his explanation saying that if you had your finger on the pulse of wrestling, there was always a guy you could distinguish as the best. However, according to the AEW star, things have been the murkiest in a very long time because there are so many great athletes in different companies:

“Now, I think it’s so subjective too. You could say it’s Bryan Danielson. You could say it’s Kenny Omega. There’s an argument for Roman Reigns. I think now, in 2021, like I said, I think this has been the murkiest it’s been in a very long time.”

CM Punk then talked about the forbidden door and how you can see wrestlers from many different companies competing in AEW. He said that this crossover should be very appealing for someone who wants to find out who in fact is the best wrestler in the world right now.

AEW Dynamite Moves To TBS Wednesday, January 5, 2022

0

All Elite Wrestling’s AEW Dynamite series will move from TNT to TBS in January.

Variety’s Joe Otterson reports AEW Dynamite will officially air on TBS on January 5, 2022. However, it will still be a weekly Wednesday show and the channel’s 8 pm ET/PT time slot. AEW Rampage will stay on TNT on Fridays at its usual time.

AEW Move to TBS

The decision to move AEW Dynamite to a different channel is not surprising. AEW’s President Tony Khan shared in May that the show would transition to TBS next year. However, he also revealed that AEW Rampage would leave TNT as well. It’s unclear if AEW Rampage will still move to TBS, but the company doesn’t have an official date yet for 2022.

AEW Dynamite’s Success

AEW Dynamite has achieved success since its first episode. The show’s debut episode on October 2, 2019, did a 1.409 million viewership. In January 2020, AEW Dynamite’s early success resulted in Warnermedia extending the AEW TV contract through 2023 with a fourth-year option for 2024 with increased pay.

Associated Press interviewed Khan and asked him about the success of AEW. Khan shared that AEW has already turned a profit. In a transcribed interview from the Associated Press, Khan said, “Our TNT deal is very fair. I think we’ve performed at such a high level that we’ll justify a big increase on our next deal.” He continued, “We are very fortunate to have their support. The timing of that deal was great, to get that in January 2020, that is a huge revenue stream for us.”

In the last two weeks, AEW has gained more viewers between the ages of 18 and 49 years old. They’ve also stayed over a million viewership over the previous four weeks. The official viewership numbers for yesterday’s AEW Dynamite Grand Slam are unknown. AEW has yet to make an official statement on AEW Dynamite move to TBS.

Eddie Kingston Details Plans Once In-Ring Career Ends

0

Eddie Kingston has unveiled what he hopes to do once his in-ring career comes to a close.

Kingston has seen his hard work pay off. Many believe that Kingston had long been underrated but his talents have finally been appreciated in AEW. Kingston competed in his home of New York City on the Grand Slam edition of Rampage, which is set to air via tape delay on Sept. 24.

Eddie Kingston has shown no signs of slowing down in the midst of his biggest run yet, but he isn’t afraid to think about the future. Here’s what he told Robbie Fox on My Mom’s Basement about his plans after in-ring competition.

“I would definitely love to do commentary. I would love to agent. I would love to help younger talent. There is some young talent that doesn’t listen, like I did when I was younger, and I would like to tell them, ‘It’s not going to work out, man. Trust me. All this stuff you’re fighting for that you think is so important, I’m telling you, two or three years from now, you’re going to look back and go, why did I even care?’ I look at my career and calling the wrong wrestler a mark. Next thing I know, he’s the champion somewhere. Welp, not going there.”

Many have viewed Kingston as a locker room leader. He is often relied upon to give a post-event speech exclusive to the live crowd in attendance. Kingston did just that once AEW’s Grand Slam special came to a close inside Arthur Ashe Stadium.

Kingston’s upcoming match on Rampage will be under Lights Out “rules.” He will team with Jon Moxley to take on Minoru Suzuki and Lance Archer.

Adam Cole: NXT Was Interested In Britt Baker ‘For Sure’

0

It probably won’t come as a surprise to many but Adam Cole says NXT had plenty of interest in Britt Baker.

Baker is the reigning AEW Women’s World Champion. She captured the gold back in May, ending Hikaru Shida’s 372-day reign. She’s fresh off a successful title defense against Ruby Soho on the AEW Grand Slam edition of Dynamite in New York City.

Cole, the real-life boyfriend of Baker, says that the higher-ups on WWE’s NXT brand have had their eyes on the AEW Women’s World Champion. Here’s what he told Renee Paquette on Oral Sessions.

“I know for sure that NXT was interested in saying, ‘Hey, if Britt is available please let us know,’ and I know AEW was interested in me as well. It was an interesting back and forth of ‘it’d be cool if you came here’ or ‘it’d be cool if I came there,’ but we were both under contract. Not much we could do, but we did fantasize about those things.”

Baker did work as an enhancement talent for WWE in the past. She was squashed against the likes of Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler. Her stock has never been higher under the AEW banner.

Cole was once under the NXT brand. During his time on NXT, Cole put together some of the best matches in the brand’s history. Once his contract with WWE was up, many felt that if Cole were to stay with the promotion he’d have to be elevated to the main roster. He ended up signing with AEW.

Eric Bischoff Has High Hopes For Bron Breakker, Doesn’t Like The Name

0

Eric Bischoff believes Bron Breakker is destined for stardom but he questions the name change.

Breakker is the son of tag team legend Rick Steiner. Breakker made his debut on the first episode of NXT 2.0. He wrestled LA Knight in the first match of the show, pinning him clean. The episode ended with Breakker staring down newly-crowned NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa backstage.

Bischoff has a history with the Steiner brothers and he took to his 83 Weeks Podcast to express his belief that Bron Breakker will become a special talent. With that said, he’s baffled by WWE’s decision to go against the Rex Steiner name that was initially put in place for him.

“Oh, there’s no doubt [he’s going to be a star]. I get that they didn’t want to call him Rex Steiner because his real last name is Rechsteiner and nothing lasts forever. Relationships generally don’t last forever, especially business relationships. You have to plan for the inevitable, and I understand why they would want to protect their intellectual property and give Bronson a real character name that they have control over. I don’t like that, but I understand it.”

Breakker was put in a prominent role once again on the Sept. 21 edition of NXT 2.0. He teamed with Ciampa to take on Pete Dunne and Ridge Holland in the main event of the show. Breakker and Ciampa picked up the win.

Tony Khan Brings In Lil Uzi Vert For Rap Battle With The Acclaimed

0

The Acclaimed’s Max Caster took to social media recently to challenge Tony Khan to a rap battle in Arthur Ashe Stadium. Last night, Khan came out to answer the Acclaimed’s challenge but also brought in a little help.

Between Dynamite and the taping of Rampage, the Acclaimed came out and again challenged Tony Khan to a battle rap. Khan came out and answered the call.

“I’ve written a lot of wrestling shows but never in my life have I written a rap song,” Khan can be heard saying to the Acclaimed in the video below. “I’m not going to start today so I brought somebody in to help me. Ladies and Gentlemen Lil Uzi Vert!”

https://twitter.com/PlatinumMax/status/1440869903574069248

Caster was off of AEW television for most of August following backlash to lyrics of one of his raps that aired on Dark. The episode was pulled, re-edited, and then re-posted. Khan spoke about the incident later on an episode of Busted Open Radio.

“Last night on Dark, Max Caster’s rap was terrible. I was not out there in the moment when he did it, it was not during Dynamite,” Khan said. “I had not heard it until last night, truthfully. In the editing process, it should have been caught. We deleted the episode and re-posted it with that edited out but it shouldn’t have aired.”

“This would never have happened (on Dynamite) because Max’s raps, I have always gone over them with him,” he continued. “I don’t script or write wrestler’s promos, but the bullet points I give. In this case, it shouldn’t have happened and what will happen going forward is I will take over the editing of Dark and Elevation myself.”

According to a report from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Caster was sent to sensitivity training as a result.

“After what happened last week and the fallout, Max Caster has been sent to sensitivity training,” wrote Dave Meltzer.

Chris Jericho Says He Pitched To Disband The Inner Circle

0

The Inner Circle formed on the 1st ever edition of AEW Dynamite on October 2nd, 2019. Jericho was already the first AEW World Champion at this point. Jake Hager would make his debut that night as well. The faction has been a focal point of the promotion since it first debuted on TNT but according to Jericho, he recently pitched for it to be disbanded.

Jericho was speaking to Stephanie Chase when he mentioned that he pitched to Tony Khan that the stable be broken up.

“My idea was for us to respectfully disband and go on our own ways,” Jericho said (transcriptions via Fightful). “Tony didn’t want to do that. He said, ‘Why would you want to disband? You don’t have to be together all the time, but you’re still The Inner Circle.'”

“After this year, the whole storyline was based around MJF wanting to join, Wardlow is in the Inner Circle, The Pinnacle, five-on-five and that sort of thing. It was a well told year long story with the five of us,” Jericho continued. “It’s good for us to go our own ways and not be in each other’s business every week. It’s good that we’re still aligned. For me, I thought it was a good time for us to go our own way, but we can still do that without officially disbanding the band or breaking up the band.”

Two members of the Inner Circle, Jericho and Hager, will face off against the Men of the Year in tag-team action on Rampage Friday night. Santana and Ortiz will also team with the Lucha Bros to take on the Hardy Family Office that show. Next week on Dynamite, Sammy Guevara will receive a TNT title shot against Miro.

CM Punk Takes Shot At Hulk Hogan While Comparing Him To Steve Austin

0

CM Punk is not a fan of Hulk Hogan’s. He’s mentioned this in numerous previous interviews. In a recent appearance on the Rasslin with Brandon F. Walker podcast, Punk compared Steve Austin and Hulk Hogan’s careers and then offered up his opinion of Hogan.

Punk and Walker were talking about the biggest stars in wrestling’s history when Punk compared Austin and Hogan.

“A lot of this is subjective, though, right? Like, you can make the argument, ‘oh well, Hulk Hogan is a bigger star than Steve Austin’ but then you look at business periods and eras and box office receipts and all that other stuff,” Punk said on the show. “I think Hogan is a piece of s**t, so obviously I’m going to be like ‘Steve Austin, yeah!’ but that’s another podcast.”

The clip of Punk comparing Hogan and Austin can be heard in the player below:

Punk also responded to a Tweet from someone critical of his comments about Hulk Hogan.

“Brother, just tune in tonight. Just got off the phone with Arthur Ashe and he’s excited to host us tonight. Gonna party with Belushi in nyc after I slam Baba. Hope I don’t tear anything in my back. Metallica,” Punk wrote.

More examples of Punk giving his opinion on Hogan are available in the links below:

Christopher Daniels Teases Return To “Fallen Angel” Gimmick

0

For years Christopher Daniels portrayed “The Fallen Angel” character. He recently released a video on social media teasing a return to the gimmick.

In the video, highlights of Kazarian and Daniels losing to the Young Bucks are shown. That was the last match Daniels has had in AEW. The loss meant that Kazarian and Daniels would never be able to team up again.

“I gambled everything and I lost it all,” Daniels can be heard saying in the video. “And now, I’m all alone. I’ve got no goal, no cause, no team, nothing to fight for except for the right to keep fighting.”

At this point the lighting of the video goes red and Daniels appears in his Fallen Angel attire.

“So, I fight. And since I’ve lost it all, I’ve got nothing left to lose. After 28 years, what I thought was the end might actually be a new beginning.”

Christopher Daniels Returns To Impact Wrestling

Daneils was also spotted at the most recent set of Impact Wrestling tapings in Nashville. He has not wrestled for the promotion since 2014. Daniels is a former 4x X-Division Champion in Impact Wrestling/TNA. His 280 days spent with the title ranks him 8th all-time in that category.

Billy Graham Provides Health Update After Recent Hospitalization

0

Wrestling veteran and WWE Hall Of Famer “Superstar” Billy Graham has returned home after being hospitalized at Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, Arizona due to some heart problems earlier this week.

The news of his hospitalization was revealed by the former WWE star himself. He noted on his Facebook page this past Sunday that he was headed to the hospital and was expected to be admitted.

The page was updated on Monday with a message from Graham’s wife Valerie. She noted that Billy had been hooked up to IV lasix to help get fluid out of his lungs.

The former WWWF champion then provided the latest update on his condition via another post earlier this Wednesday. In the post made on Facebook, he said that he appreciates all the wishes he has received.

Billy Graham revealed that he has returned to his home. He noted that he is still very weak and Graham said that he can ‘barely lift a spoon of soup to his mouth’.

Though the 78-year-old promised that he will overcome this hurdle. The retired wrestling star also claimed that doctors have confirmed that his past steroid use is not responsible for his current problems.

Billy Graham had multiple runs with WWE and NWA in the 70s and 80s. He had a 17-year long career during which, he won over a dozen titles in various promotions. You can check out his latest Facebook post below:

Bryan Danielson On If He Communicated With CM Punk Before AEW Signing

0

Bryan Danielson and CM Punk made their debuts for AEW only two weeks apart. However, despite being friends for a long time, the duo did not speak before signing with the promotion.

The American dragon recently appeared on ESPN SportsNation to promote the Dynamite: Grand Slam special. He discussed things like his match against the AEW champion Kenny Omega and more.

When asked if he had any communication with Punk before inking the AEW deal, Danielson claimed that they had ‘next to zero’ communication with each other:

“We’ve had next to zero communication, as a lot of my friends know, I’m a horrible communicator. I didn’t know about the [CM] Punk stuff until it happened right, but it seemed very fitting.”

Bryan Danielson Wants To Team With CM Punk

Now that both the stars are in the same promotion again, a future clash between the two is inevitable. Bryan Danielson also spoke about the possibility and recalled how he wrote about Punk in his 2015 book based on his WrestleMania main event:

“I wrote in my book that it makes me sad that that will most likely never happen, and then now here we are in 2021 and it’s a real possibility. I had heard him say in an interview recently that I hadn’t even thought of,

But it’s not just me against CM Punk, it’s teaming with CM Punk. He had said something about maybe me and him against The Young Bucks” recalled Danielson, “and I was like oh my God, that would be awesome.”

The former world champion also discussed how leaving WWE was a difficult decision for him but he ultimately chose to sign with AEW because there are many names in the roster who he wants to face.

Gran Metalik Has Reportedly Asked For His WWE Release

0

WWE superstar Gran Metalik is the latest name to have asked for his release from the promotion, according to reports from lucha libre program Más Lucha. The reason for his request according to the report is the frustrations with his creative direction in the company. Though there is no word yet on how WWE officials will react to this request.

The 33 year old Metalik is a 16 year veteran in wrestling after making his debut back in 2005. He originally made his name wrestling for CMLL in the early stages of his career. He started wrestling for New Japan Pro Wrestling under the ring name Máscara Dorada in 2010. He signed a one year contract with the company in 2015, after a feud with La Sombra now better known as Andrade.

Gran Metalik was signed to a full-time contract by WWE for their cruiserweight division after he competed in the cruiserweight classic tournament in 2016. He was paired with Kalisto, and Lince Dorado in early 2018 after the cruiserweight division was moved from Raw. He has competed on various brands since then.

While the trio has been appearing regularly on WWE TV in the past couple years, they have rarely been given a spotlight moment. The group has mostly been used for filler storylines. The report says that the masked star intends to continue wrestling in US if granted his release. His current contract runs through 2023. It will be interesting to see if the WWE officials decide to let him go before that.

Spoiler: Former TNA Star Makes AEW Debut During Rampage Tapings

0

Former TNA and ROH star Homicide made his AEW debut during tonight’s Rampage tapings after AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam special.

The special 2-hour long Rampage episode dubbed Rampage: Grand Slam featured a lights-out tag team match between the teams of Jon Moxley & Eddie Kingston and Minoru Suzuki & Lance Archer.

Towards the ending of this main event bout on Rampage, the opponents handcuffed Mox and started hitting him with a trash can lid and kendo sticks. This is when the former TNA star made his debut.

Homicide came out to help Moxley and he freed the former AEW champion from the handcuffs. Kingston then placed a trash can over the head of Archer. Eddie Kingston proceeded to hit Archer’s head with a kendo stick over a dozen times.

He then pinned Lance Archer to pick up the victory for his team. The trio of Homicide, Kingston, and Moxley celebrated in the ring after the match was over.

Hometown star Eddie Kingston also cut a promo and claimed that New York is now AEW’s town. Making his pro wrestling debut in 1993, Homicide has a history with Kingston. The two were part of the LAX faction during their time in TNA.

Kenny Omega Says There Will Be ‘No Rematch’ After Bryan Danielson Match Ends In Draw

0

Kenny Omega has made his first comment since his incredible match against the debuting Bryan Danielson on tonight’s AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam special from NYC.

The AEW champion took on his Twitter to comment on the bout that ended in a 30 minutes time limit draw. He claimed that there isn’t going to be a rematch between the two:

Tonight’s Dynamite episode saw the AEW world champion colliding with the former WWE champion in the opening match of the night. Both Omega and Bryan received an incredible ovation from the crowd.

The audience was very excited for this bout. Both the stars put in a great effort to make Bryan’s first match in AEW after his All Out debut a memorable encounter.

However, while both the stars gave everything they had, neither of them could keep the other down for long. The match between Kenny Omega and Bryan Danielson ended in a 30 minutes time limit draw.

The Elite ran out to the ring after the match as Danielson tried to continue the fight. Adam Cole and The Young Bucks ended up delivering a triple superkick to the former WWE star. The trio of Christian Cage and Jurassic Express then came out.

They saved Bryan Danielson from the post-match attack at the hands of The Elite. While Kenny Omega is claiming that there will be no rematch, it’s more likely that we will see these two colliding inside an AEW ring once again sooner rather than later.

Championship Match Announced For Dynamite Next Week

AEW has announced that the TNT champion Miro will be defending his title against Sammy Guevara at next Wednesday’s episode of Dynamite after their confrontation at last week’s Rampage.

The main event of last Friday’s episode of Rampage saw Miro facing Fuego Del Sol in a title vs. car match. Miro won this match to become the new owner of Fuego’s car.

However, the TNT champion continued his attack after the match was over. He put the masked star into a camel clutch. Sammy Guevara finally had enough and he came out to help his friend.

As Miro retreated, he left his title behind. Guevara picked up the championship to tease a future match between the two. The show ended with Guevara standing tall.

AEW then announced during tonight’s Grand Slam special of Dynamite that Miro will have to defend his championship against the spanish god at next week’s episode of the show. Guevara has promised to buy Fuego a car after winning the belt.

This title match is the only thing that has been announced for next week’s show from the Blue Cross Arena in Rochester, NY so far. Though more segments are expected to be announced over the week.

AEW presented another eventful episode of Dynamite tonight with their Grand Slam special which gave people plenty to talk about. Though the show wasn’t over when the cameras stopped rolling.

After the show went off air, The Acclaimed came out on the stage. The duo called out AEW president Tony Khan for a rap battle in front of the live audience.

Khan came out after Dynamite and said that while he has written a lot of wrestling shows, he has never written a rap song and he is not going to start doing that today.

However, the AEW owner then brought out rapper Lil Uzi Vert, who was in attendance for the show for some assistance. Khan went on to deliver a couple of short verses for The Acclaimed.

At one point Tony joked about the reports of Max Caster’s suspension saying that he was suspending them for ‘another 30 days’.

Though he later came out again and clarified for ‘all the clickbait sites’ out there that he wasn’t actually suspending the duo.

The AEW president eventually brought out the Varsity Blonds. Griff Garrison and Brian Pillman Jr had a short brawl with The Acclaimed to culminate the segment.
