Will Ospreay Added To Chris Jericho’s Rock N’ Rager at Sea Cruise

0

Will Ospreay has been added to Chris Jericho’s upcoming Rock N’ Rager cruise but don’t expect him to wrestle.

Ospreay has taken the wrestling world by storm over the years. He has gone from a high-flying junior-heavyweight to a heavyweight main eventer. Ospreay is the former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion. In storyline, he has taken issue with NJPW brass for stripping him of the gold due to injury.

Here’s the press release hyping up Ospreay’s appearance on Jericho’s cruise.

“The hotshot Assasin is currently signed with New Japan Pro Wrestling and holds their former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion title, and he’s also the reigning British Heavyweight Champion of Revolution Pro Wrestling in addition to many other impressive career feats.

“While Will won’t be wrestling on board, he will be making special appearances throughout the cruise!

In addition to this HUGE lineup announcement, we’re also excited to share that the legendary Madusa will be taking on the role of Guest Cruise Director and Bully Ray is joining Brad Williams to tag-team as Guest Hosts! With the fate of the Triple Whammy’s activities in these hands, you don’t want to miss out on the best experience of your life!”

As mentioned in the press release, Bully Ray will be serving as a guest host on the cruise. Medusa is the Guest Cruise Director. Kurt Angle is set to be the Guest of Honor. AEW talent such as Britt Baker, Orange Cassidy, Lance Archer, and more will also be featured on the cruise.

Tony Khan Says Nobody In AEW Has ‘Creative Control’

0

During a recent AEW media call to promote All Out, Tony Khan stated that while wrestlers in his company have creative input, not one person on the roster has creative control. This includes the newly signed CM Punk.

“Not one person, including Mr. Punk and everyone on the roster, has creative control. It’s not like WCW and that is one of the issues with WCW. When you have a person who has creative control in their contract, it can hold up the show. I don’t know how you get through TV doing that,” Khan said.

Khan continued to say, however, that he encourages wrestlers to come and talk to him if something they are being asked to do doesn’t make sense.

“I’ve told (Punk) if I ever ask you to do something that doesn’t make sense, it’s not coming from a malicious place, if something doesn’t make sense, tell me and we’ll talk about it. That’s generally how I am with everyone,” he continued.

“Just because nobody has a contractual right to tell me ‘you can’t make me do that, you can’t put me in that match,’ doesn’t mean I want to put people in bad situations or do things that don’t make sense to them or for their career or for the fans,” Khan further explained.

Wrestlers Speak On AEW’s Creative Freedom

While creative control isn’t something anyone in AEW has in their contract, many on the roster have spoken about the creative freedom they do enjoy.

“It feels really good that I’m in a place now where my creative mind can be utilized versus stopped, and controlled, and being presented in things that I know are not gonna work,” said Malakai Black on Twitch earlier this summer.

Ethan Page also spoke about the creative freedom in AEW during an interview with Chris Van Vliet.

“It’s amazing, now being in AEW, the creative freedom and I guess trust that they give their talent to kind of let them do what they want,” he said.

Ring announcer Justin Roberts also commented on the creative freedom he’s given in AEW.

“If there’s a scale of creative freedom, and there’s a one and a 10, I guess I’m at 100, since day one, it’s just one of those things where I’ve never been handed a script, or I’ve never been told what to say on anything starting from the first show when,” he said on the AEW Unrestricted podcast.

Finn Balor Says He Pitched Going To NXT UK Before Smackdown Return

0

Finn Balor will challenge Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship tonight on Smackdown. According to comments he made to BT Sport, however, Balor had actually pitched moving to the NXT UK brand instead of Smackdown to WWE management.

“Believe it or not, before I returned to SmackDown, I could feel the run at NXT kind of coming to an end and I’d kind of exhausted all the resources there, like the guys that I could wrestle against,” Balor said. He continued to say that he pitched the idea of him going to NXT UK to WWE management.

“I actually pitched the idea of moving to NXT UK and obviously that might have been a little bit of a bold move and maybe a bold pitch,” Balor continued. He went on to discuss how he felt he would be able to help the brand.

“I felt like I could not only challenge myself against guys like Ilja, and WALTER, A-Kid, and Jordan Devilin but help the brand the same way I tried to help NXT in the last couple of years. I felt like it was a win-win for all of us but the office had a different opinion on that and they wanted me on Smackdown. But seeing that brand grow, it’s incredible. Some of those guys are some of the best in the world.”

Balor took part in NXT UK tapings in early 2020. He also wrestled current NXT UK champion, Ilja Dragunov, at Worlds Collide 2020. Balor said that it had been the plan for him to spend more time in NXT UK had the pandemic not changed things. His run would have eventually led to a match with then-champion, WALTER.

Balor’s comments can be heard in the player below:

Finn Balor vs Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship

Balor will challenge Roman Reigns for the Universal title tonight. He is the first-ever holder of the championship, having first won it at SummerSlam 2016. Since then 7 more wrestlers have won the belt. There have been 14 title changes in the championship’s lineage.

The all-time leader in total reigns and days spent with the belt is Brock Lesnar. He’s held the title 3x for a total of 686 days. Roman Reigns has held the title twice for a total of 431 days. Balor’s one reign with the belt lasted less than 24 hours when he was forced to vacate it due to injury.

Update On McMahon & Prichard Taking Control of NXT

0

Several reports have come out as of late regarding Vince McMahon & Bruce Prichard playing a larger role in NXT. According to a report from the Wrestling Observer, a meeting was held with talent and staff in NXT recently. Reports of McMahon and Prichard’s involvement were addressed.

“There was a meeting with talent and staff where they were told the stories of McMahon and Prichard directly producing the weekly television show is incorrect,” wrote Dave Meltzer.

The report continued to say that Prichard and McMahon are too busy to take on that role. Major decisions regarding the brand will now be made by upper WWE management, however. This includes the rebrand, roster cuts, and who gets pushed and/or protected.

“The new logo came from WWE with no input from the NXT people and it’s when it comes to the future of NXT and its rebranding, it’s said the people making the decision, on their own, are the likes of Vince McMahon, Nick Khan, John Laurinaitis, Kevin Dunn, and Bruce Prichard,” Meltzer continued.

It was also noted that there were many who had hoped changing to Tuesday nights would benefit NXT. That is not what has happened, however. Television ratings for the brand are averaging just under 650,000 viewers and a 0.16 over the last 10 weeks.

“Like with the cuts, all the major decisions as far as marketing, direction of the brand and promotion of the brand are all being made outside the NXT circle,” Meltzer continued.

Matt Cardona’s Trolling Continues With New GCW “Spinner” Belt

0

Matt Cardona knows just how to get under the skin of GCW fans. After defeating Nick Gage to win the GCW Championship earlier this summer, Cardona has now unveiled a specially designed GCW “Spinner” title. Text on the belt also refers to it as the GCW “Universal” Championship.

He unveiled the new belt on social media recently:

Cardona became the 20th wrestler to win the championship when he defeated Nick Gage for it at GCW Homecoming Night 1. Gage is the only person to have won the title more than once. His 2 reigns and 828 days spent with the belt are both records.

Cardona spoke with Sports Illustrated after winning the title from Gage. During the interview, Cardona talked about how it is his first world championship.

“This title is a big deal. I was fortunate in WWE to win the tag team title twice, the intercontinental title, and the United States title,” Cardona said. “But the GCW title is my first world title. So people are absolutely crazy if they don’t think I’m going to treat this as the biggest thing in the world. I took the title to Disneyland and posed in front of the castle.”

Backstage Update On Riddle’s Comments About Roman Reigns

0

RK-Bro’s Matt Riddle has reportedly rubbed some people the wrong way backstage in WWE with his comments about Roman Reigns. Riddle recently said in an interview with the Bleacher Report that Reigns doesn’t “move the needle,” and isn’t a draw.

The reaction to Riddle’s comments was addressed recently in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. “There was a lot of heat in certain circles on Riddle for comments on Bleacher Report on Reigns. This was definitely not storyline related,” wrote Dave Meltzer.

“It was very much considered a negative by many with the basic theme that Riddle is incredibly talented, more so than he gets credit for, but he’s not very astute politically in the WWE jungle,” Meltzer continued.

Riddle has rubbed several WWE power players the wrong way. He’s had public feuds with Brock Lesnar and Goldberg, to name two. There’s no question that Riddle is a talented in-ring performer and fits the mold of WWE’s brand of Sports Entertainment. However, he could hinder himself by getting heat from the likes of Roman Reigns.

Riddle’s Comments About Roman Reigns

During the interview with the Bleacher Report, Riddle said Reigns doesn’t “move the needle.”

“No disrespect to Roman, he seems like a swell fella, but at the same time, it’s like when people say they’re a good parent. You know what? If you were a good parent, your kids would be telling you you’re a good parent. When he’s saying ‘Acknowledge me’ or ‘I move the needle,’ no, you don’t. You’re related to The Rock. Shut up. Like, I’m not impressed, I can beat you up in a real fight. So, shut your mouth.”

Riddle and Randy Orton won the RAW tag-team championships from AJ Styles and Omos at SummerSlam. They’ve since defended the belts against MVP and Bobby Lashley on this week’s edition of WWE RAW.

X-Division Title Match Added To Sept. 18 Victory Road Card

0

The Impact Victory Road card for Sept. 18 just got another title match.

On the Sept. 2 edition of Impact Wrestling, Josh Alexander put his X-Division Title on the line in an open challenge. Jake Crist ended up accepting the challenge. Alexander defeated Crist to retain his gold.

After the match, Alexander said he feels he has to be in the conversation for the greatest X-Division Champion of all time.

Alexander was interrupted by Chris Sabin, who knows a thing or two about carrying the X-Division Title.

Sabin showed his respect for Alexander. He went as far as to say Alexander is one of the best wrestlers he’s ever seen in the ring. With that said, Sabin let Alexander know that must beat him to be in that conversation as the greatest X-Division Champion of all time. Sabin laid down the challenge for Victory Road.

Alexander shook Sabin’s hand, signaling an acceptance of the challenge. Now, Impact has made the match official.

“BREAKING: Josh Alexander will defend the X-Division Championship against Chris Sabin at Victory Road on September 18th!”

Headlining Victory Road will be an Impact Wrestling World Title match. Champion Christian Cage will put his gold on the line against Ace Austin.

Britt Baker Not Interested In Wrestling Outside Of AEW

0

The “Forbidden Door” has led to many intriguing matches and angles but don’t expect Britt Baker to show up for a promotion outside of AEW.

Baker is the reigning AEW Women’s Champion. She captured the gold back in May at Double or Nothing when she defeated Shida. Britt’s victory ended Shida’s 372-day title reign.

As of late, we’ve seen AEW work with a slew of different promotions. We’ve seen cross-promotion with the likes of NJPW, AAA, Impact Wrestling, and NWA. It has led many fans to think of potential fantasy matchups.

Speaking at Planet Comic-Con, Britt said that if anyone wishes to wrestle her from another company, they will have to make the trip to AEW.

“I’m not going anywhere because I’m in the hottest professional wrestling company on the planet. I don’t need to go anywhere. They can come here, and that’s fine, but I have no desire to go anywhere because they can all come to us.

“Everyone has their own different path. I’m the baddest b*tch of the block in AEW and, again, if they want to come to me I welcome them all with open arms. Please step foot in my ring.”

Britt Baker is scheduled to make her third title defense against Kris Statlander. The championship match will take place this Sunday night (Sept. 5). It’ll be a part of the All Out PPV inside the Now Arena in Hoffman Estates, Illinois.

Karl Anderson Stirs Drama Following Rant On WWE

0

Karl Anderson has gone on quite the Twitter rant and many fans aren’t pleased.

Anderson once worked under the WWE banner along with his tag team partner Doc Gallows. The two even signed a lucrative contract extension but were released shortly after WrestleMania back in 2020.

Anderson now works for Impact Wrestling and has appeared on AEW TV with The Elite. Anderson and Gallows are the current Impact Wrestling Tag Team Champions.

Anderson found himself at the center of controversy on Twitter. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful tweeted the news that WWE has sent out a memo offering talent mental health counseling services in the wake of Daffney’s passing.

Anderson rubbed people the wrong way in a since-deleted response to Sapp’s tweet. Anderson said, “They suck bro.”

He went on to rant about NXT. “What happened to the Wednesday night wars? F*ck they gave up quick. NXT was putting out [a] sh*t product constantly, this is on them and Hunter.”

https://twitter.com/MachineGunKA/status/1433571240229445634

Anderson later responded to a ton of Twitter users who have criticized him for his comments. He has even threatened some fans, saying he can’t wait to meet them in person, and then used a fist emoji.

Karl Anderson was seen on the Sept. 1 edition of AEW Dynamite. He joined Kenny Omega, The Young Bucks, and the rest of The Elite in their beatdown of Christian Cage and The Lucha Bros.

John Cena: Conor McGregor Would Be ‘Fantastic’ Addition To WWE Roster

0

John Cena believes that Conor McGregor can do great things inside a WWE ring.

McGregor is regarded as the most popular MMA fighter the sport has ever seen. He has garnered mass appeal for a long period of time, even longer Ronda Rousey. While he has seen better days inside the Octagon, going 1-3 in his last four outings, the “Notorious” one remains the top PPV draw in the UFC.

Cena knows a thing or two about sports entertainment and he feels McGregor is tailor-made for WWE. Speaking to Dan Patrick, Cena said he’s of the belief that McGregor would fit right in the WWE mold.

“He’d be fantastic. He is what we do. It’s a little less predictable. Our surprises are getting people to show up at random and weave the ‘choose your own adventure’ into a different alley. His surprises are getting a few teeth knocked out or getting an operation. Not to say that this doesn’t happen with us, mistakes happen, but in his profession, it’s not a mistake. I hope (he makes an appearance) because I want to see it. At my core, I’m a fan. He’s interesting and has a gravity about him. I want to see him perform.”

McGregor has said some things about Cena in the past that haven’t been so flattering. During a media scrum back in 2016, McGregor had the following to say about Cena.

“What’s the main guy? John Cena. He’s 40. He’s 40 years of age. He’s walking around in a luminous orange T-shirt and a headband talking about nobody can see him. We can see him right there. He’s a big, fat, 40-year-old failed Mr. Olympia motherf*cker.”

Omos Reflects On Embarrassing Moment In Front Of The Undertaker

0

WWE Raw superstar Omos has revealed the time where he was on the receiving end of an embarrassing moment in front of The Undertaker.

Omos has been portrayed as an intimidating giant on WWE TV. He has found great success with AJ Styles. The two reigned as Raw Tag Team Champions for 133 days. They ended up losing the titles to Randy Orton and Riddle at SummerSlam.

While Omos is an intimidating figure, not even he is immune from embarrassing situations. During an appearance on Rasslin’ With Brandon F. Walker, Omos admitted he did indeed rip his pants in front of The Undertaker and two other legends.

“Yes, that did happen. So, at the [Performance Center] we have events that we call ‘PC Lives’. And the day before the PC Live, this was I think, right before the Mania in New York. Everyone came down and came to town. It was just like ‘You know what? We’re doing that tomorrow, if you have any dress-up attire, bring it.’ As you can tell, I like my pants skinny, and I had skinny dress pants. I put them on, and [they said] something about rehearsals. You’re going to hop over the top rope. I did it one time, and I’m fine. I did it one time and they said ‘You have to do it again.’ I said ‘Brother, my pants are going to rip.’ And they said ‘Oh no, no.’ I did it again and I got comfortable. And the fourth time I tried to go, it rips, literally.

“I’m just like, ‘What am I going to do?’ I can’t go home; I don’t have another pair of pants. Let’s go on with the show. So, the whole time I’m doing the show I’m standing at ringside and my whole backside is just exposed. They have Undertaker, Batista, Hunter. Everybody’s there. And my butt is just hanging out.”

Riho Joins Women’s Casino Battle Royal at All Out

0

Former All Elite Wrestling Women’s World Champion Riho will enter the Women’s Casino Battle Royal at AEW All Out this Sunday.

Tony Khan revealed in a media call today that Riho will compete in the 21-woman Battle Royal. He was going to delay the news until AEW Rampage on Friday but decided to share today. Riho is the 20th participant that will compete in the match.

Rules of the Women’s Casino Battle Royal

The Women’s Casino Battle Royal will be the second women’s battle royal in All Out history. The rule of the match is that five-woman will start the match, and every three minutes, another five-woman will join. The way to eliminate opponents in the match is by throwing them over the top rope and making their feet touch the floor. Participants are grouped based on their suit from cards like hearts, clubs, diamonds, and hearts. When all 20 participants have entered the match, the Joker will join, who makes up the 21st competitor. The surviving participant of the match is the winner and gets an AEW Women’s World Championship match.

Nyla Rose became the first woman to win the match at the inaugural AEW All Out event on August 31, 2019. She will also be competing in the match on Sunday.

Who Will be the last Participant

While revealing that Riho will be in the match, Khan didn’t share who will be the 21st participant. The last competitor could also not be on the active AEW roster. AEW may not reveal who it would be until the match has started.

WWE Producer Comments On ‘Rough’ Charlotte vs. Nia Jax Match

0

A WWE producer has weighed in on the much-talked-about match between Charlotte and Nia Jax.

On the Aug. 30 edition of Monday Night Raw, Charlotte and Jax went one-on-one. Jax ended up getting the three-count but the match appeared to go off the rails. There was miscommunication in the ring and at some point, it looked as if both Charlotte and Jax were taking legit shots at each other before finally settling on the finish.

D-Von Dudley made an appearance on the “Table Talk” podcast and he addressed what went wrong.

“A lot of people suspect Nia and Charlotte got into it heavy. I even heard some reports that they were beating each other up in the back. Number one, they weren’t beating each other up in the back. Something happened in the ring, they handled it the way they handled it and they got over it. It’s as simple as that. They got over it.

“Were things done in the ring? I think it’s obvious. No dirtsheet writer can put me on blast and go, ‘Well, D-Von said…’ No, everybody saw what happened this past Monday. It got a little rough. It happens. It’s not the first time it happened, but of course, everyone is making a big deal out of it.”

D-Von went on to say that the one good thing that can come out of the incident is that more eyeballs will be on their next meeting. D-Von feels a well-built match can lead to good business for WWE.

AEW President Tony Khan Confirms AEW Dark move to Universal Studios

0

All Elite Wrestling will record episodes of AEW Dark at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida.

AEW President Tony Khan conducted a media call today ahead of All-out, which takes place this Sunday. Khan confirmed that AEW would record episodes at Universal Studios. He also hasn’t ruled out doing some episodes at arenas, depending on AEW’s schedule.

AEW Dark Moving Location

Wrestling Observer Newsletter Dave Meltzer reported on Twitter that Dark would be recording at Universal Studios. However, it’s unclear when AEW will begin taping shows at Universal Studios. The August 31st episode took place at UWM Panther Arena in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Khan, inspired by World Championship Wrestling, wanted to use a studio for wrestling like WCW Worldwide.

More Focus on AEW Dynamite and Rampage

The introduction of AEW Rampage on TNT has achieved great reception from viewers. Showbuzz Daily’s Mitch Metcalf reports that the August 27th episode of Rampage did 722,000 in viewership. Unlike Rampage and Dynamite, Dark is available on AEW’s Youtube Channel. It also hasn’t delivered on the same numbers that Rampage or AEW Dynamite has in viewership. The August 31st episode hasn’t reached 400,000 views yet, as of today.

Khan also shared in the call that he sees Dynamite and Rampage as the A-shows. While AEW will record Dark at Universal Studios, major AEW stars will still appear on the show.

CM Punk Addresses Bryan Danielson to AEW Rumors

0

CM Punk has had trouble containing his enthusiasm for Bryan Danielson potentially joining him in AEW. He recently told a live AEW crowd that they might have to “be patient” after a “Yes!” chant broke out.

During an interview with WFAN, Punk addressed the rumors of Bryan potentially debuting in the company. “Listen, the 7 years I was gone, if you told me who is the one guy that could get you back to wrestling, you just have one match with them, it would be him,” Punk said when asked about Bryan on the show.

“I don’t know if that answers your question or not. The guy was in the WrestleMania main event 6 months ago, so that would be a huge acquisition. I think he could, just like me, I think he could do everything he wants to do.”

“For a guy like him and me, pro wrestling is art, this is our art.”

– CM Punk

Tony Khan was also asked about the rumors of Bryan Danielson during an interview on Wrestling Observer Radio. Khan opted not to answer questions about Danielson during the discussion, however.

“I can’t answer that question. It’s fair for you to ask that question but it’s not anything I could address on the Observer today but it’s fair enough for you to ask it. He’s one of the all-time greats,” Khan said.

https://twitter.com/RealMickFoley/status/1433248797031813124

Earlier this morning, TMZ reported that police had still not been able to contact Daffney by 7:25 AM PST. Shimmer then relayed news of Daffney’s passing this afternoon.

CM Punk Sees “Big Money Matches” Awaiting Him in AEW

0

CM Punk continues to do the media rounds ahead of Sunday’s AEW All Out pay-per-view from Chicago. Punk appeared on Busted Open Radio this week. He had a lot to say during his chat with hosts Dave LaGreca and Tommy Dreamer.

There is still a lot of curiosity surrounding CM Punk’s motivation to return to pro wrestling with AEW. Punk has repeatedly touted the company’s young roster. When asked who he is looking forward to working with, he gave a more general answer than we’ve heard previously. “Lame answer: Everybody,” said Punk.

CM Punk said he’s never worked with Kenny Omega or the Young Bucks. He wrestled Cody Rhodes in WWE back in 2008, but sees that as another interesting match-up.

CM Punk in AEW

Earlier this week, Punk told Angi Taylor that he never considered returning to WWE. Throughout his 7-year hiatus from wrestling, Punk said, “I don’t think going back to WWE was ever really, logically, on the table.”

WWE is the premiere wrestling organization in the world. Despite its loaded roster, CM Punk saw way more “big money matches” awaiting him in AEW.

“Why wouldn’t I want to go there?  You talk about ‘Big Money Matches’, there are way more in AEW than anywhere else for me.”

-CM Punk on his decision to join AEW

Punk added that AEW has a “punk rock” feeling to it. Some of the younger performers are a bit rough around the edges, which he sees as a very good thing. They have trained around the world under a variety of different styles, unlike WWE which has a very specific style they expect wrestlers to conform to.

Ric Flair Comments On A Possible 4 Horseman Reunion In AEW

0

Ric Flair recently took part in an interview with Renee Pacquette for her Oral Sessions podcast. During the conversation, Flair was asked if he would like to take part in a 4 Horsemen reunion in AEW.

“Let me tell you something,” Flair said (transcriptions via 411Mania). “If you’re at AEW and the Four Horsemen get together, everyone in the world watches. You’ve got Arn [Anderson], Tully [Blanchard], Barry [Windham] is sitting about a mile from here, and JJ [Dillon], you fly him in. You do a half-hour interview with [Tony] Schiavone and Jim Ross.”

Flair was also asked if he wants to get in the ring and wrestle again. The 16x World Champion noted that he would want to receive Vince McMahon’s blessing beforehand if he did.

“Get back in the ring and entertain? Absolutely,” Flair responded. “I would ask [Vince] first because I owe that to him.”

Will Ric Flair Wrestle Another Match?

We are coming up on the 10-year anniversary of Ric Flair’s last official match. He lost to Sting on an episode of Impact on September 12th, 2011. Flair got physical during the Andrade vs Kenny Omega match at TripleMania, however, as he and Andrade put Omega and Konnan in duelling figure four leglocks at one point.

During the podcast with Renee, Flair said while he likely couldn’t do a match of his own, he’d be happy being part of a match.

“No. I could be part of a match. I’d be happy doing that,” Flair said when asked if he wanted another match. “There’s another example, me and Andrade against Sting and Darby. What a great deal that is. The other day they were doing that thing where they were tapping their chests and stuff like that. I can see Sting is having the best time of his life. He’s one of the best guys to ever come along in our business.”

Flair most recently appeared on the NWA 73rd Anniversary show at the Chase Ballroom in St. Louis this weekend. He cut a promo during the PPV and came out at the end to congratulate the new champion, Trevor Murdoch.

More NXT Cuts Coming: Veterans “On The Chopping Block”

0

NXT is going through a period of transition. There’s a new logo, a new directive, and Vince McMahon and Bruce Prichard are going to play a greater role.

According to comments made on Wrestling Observer Radio, part of the changes coming to NXT in the near future could involve the release of top talents who have been on the brand for some time.

“I’ve heard names on the chopping block,” said Dave Meltzer. “You don’t know until it happens but I’ve definitely heard names.”

“A lot of the guys who’ve been there for a long time, those are the names that have been talked about.”

– Dave Meltzer on upcoming NXT cuts

What Are Vince McMahon’s and Bruce Prichard’s Role With The New NXT?

While Vince McMahon and Bruce Prichard will be playing a greater role with the brand, Meltzer continued to say he’s heard they won’t be the executive producers of the show, though he doesn’t sound certain his sources would know if that was the case or not.

“The story that Vince and Bruce would be executive producers I was told is not the case but then again, I don’t even know who knows what right now because everything’s in transition,” Dave Meltzer said.

“The big picture stuff, (Vince and Bruce) are taking over. The new logo, I heard (it was) Kevin Dunn, but it’s from that side. The major stuff is going to be them but they are not going to be producing every segment of the show, I don’t think.”

Bryan Alvarez continued to say he’s heard from people who say that Vince McMahon will be “hands-on” with NXT moving forward.

“Paul Levesque certainly has lost power, there’s no doubt about that, and (Vince and Bruce) are going to be in charge of the big picture stuff. How detail-oriented they will be, that remains to be seen.”

Max Caster’s Status With AEW Revealed (Spoiler)

0

The status of Max Caster in AEW has been unveiled.

Caster was at the center of controversy during an episode of AEW Dark back in August. Caster dropped a rap referencing the mental health issues of Olympian Simone Biles and the 2006 Duke lacrosse rape case. The rap was edited out of Dark and Caster hasn’t been seen on TV since.

Many have wondered about the status of Caster and we now have a clear answer. During an AEW Dark taping, Caster appeared to help his tag partner Anthony Bowens get a victory over Griff Garrison.

It was reported by Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio that Caster was sent to sensitivity training due to the rap.

“After what happened last week and the fallout, Max Caster has been sent to sensitivity training,” wrote Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

Khan made it clear that he will be overseeing the editing process of AEW Dark going forward. He wants to avoid situations like this from happening again.

Caster is set for a rap performance on Sept. 2. He’ll be inside the Bottom Lounge in Chicago, Illinois. The performance takes place just three nights before AEW’s big All Out PPV inside the Now Arena in Hoffman Estates, Illinois.

WWE Star Asuka Gets Teeth Fixed, Seen In Arm Sling

0

Former Raw and SmackDown Women’s Champion Asuka may have revealed why she’s been out of action.

Asuka hasn’t been seen on WWE TV since the July 18 Money in the Bank PPV. “The Empress of Tomorrow” competed in the women’s money in the bank match in a losing effort. Nikki A.S.H. ended up winning the match and she successfully cashed in her briefcase the following night.

In a Twitter post, Asuka let fans know that she has a new set of teeth but she was also in an arm sling.

https://twitter.com/wweasuka/status/1432837555498618880?s=21

Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter previously reported that health issues weren’t to blame for Asuka’s absence. At the time of the report, Meltzer claimed she left a Raw taping early simply because she wasn’t being used.

Asuka was none too pleased with the report and took to her Twitter account to deny it.

“Nothing has been revealed. That information is totally wrong. Really different. Completely different. Everything is different. I would like to ask the information provider. Don’t make a fake story.”

As far as Asuka being seen in an arm sling is concerned, there is no update at this time. If anything on the matter surfaces, SEScoops will keep you up to speed.

The Women’s Casino Battle Royale was initially set for the Buy In preshow. The match has been bumped to the PPV portion of All Out after Pac vs. Andrade “El Idolo” was postponed.
