Big E Will Face Kevin Owens Tonight

Seth Rollins made his way to the ring in a mustard colored suit and his title match contract in hand. Rollins said he is not the kind of person to come out here and toot his own horn, and has come out here tonight with a purpose. Seth then tooted his own horn and bragged about being on cloud nine because he won the Ladder match last week.

Rollins added that the contract basically guarantees that you are looking at the next WWE Champion. Seth opened up the contract and was about to start reading it when Big E mercifully interrupted. Big E noted that Rollins laughed in his face and slinked off when he tried to shake his hand last week. Big E suggested that Rollins has something off with his mind. Seth said that he shouldn’t have had to win the match and lost some respect for Big E last week.

Seth said that Big E has a nice title reign so far but he is not on his level. Rollins told Big E that he doesn’t want the responsibility of being a champion anyway. Seth said he will take that responsibility off his hands so Big E can go back to being a joke with his friends. Rollins called King Woods a joked and laughed at what a joke Kofimania turned out to be. Big E got angry at that and suggested that they have the title match tonight.

Rollins shouted at the crowd that they know damn well he is not 100% after the Ladder match. Seth said that they will have the match on his terms before Kevin Owens interrupted to a big pop from the crowd. Rollins shouted that Owens has no reason to interrupt and Kevin told Seth that he doesn’t care how he feels.

Kevin called Rollins a delusional dumbass and the proof is the suit he is wearing. Owens added that a lot of superstars have claimed that they are the face of RAW but everyone is forgetting him. Owens claimed that everyone was talking about his performance in the Ladder match and not Rollins winning. Kevin said things didn’t work out for him last week, and added that he can’t really remember the last time things have worked out for him.

Owens stated that he says just keep fighting and will continue to do that for the WWE Universe. Owens challenged Big E to a match and Rollins said that was a great idea. Big E accepted the challenge and the two will face each other for the first time ever tonight.

Zelina & Carmella Pinned The Tag Champs

Women’s Tag Team Champions Nikki A.S.H. & Rhea Ripley faced Zelina Vega & Carmella in a non-title match. Rhea dominated the action early and beat both Vega & Carmella down. Nikki tagged in as Rhea booted Zelina to the outside. Nikki hit them both with a Crossbody and posed for the crowd as RAW went to a commercial break.

Vega tagged in and tripped Ripley up. Zelina hopped on Ripley’s back and applied a Headlock. Ripley escaped and tagged in Nikki A.S.H.

Riddle attacked Omos but the big man was ready and slammed him onto the ring apron. Omos and Randy Orton trash talked to end the segment.

Apollo Crews Warned The US Champion

United States Champion Damian Priest faced T-Bar in a No DQ match on this week’s RAW. Priest unloaded some kicks to begin the match and then Clothesline T-Bar to the outside. Damian smashed T-Bar’s face off the apron but T-Bar shrugged it off and sent the champion into the announce table.

Damian battled back and launched T-Bar into the barricade. Damian grabbed a table from under the ring but it allows T-Bar time to regroup. T-Bar leveled Damian with a kick to the face and set up the table. Priest regrouped during that time and hit T-Bar with a Cannonball off the steel steps.

T-Bar fought out of a Chokeslam and went for a Powerbomb. Priest broke free but T-Bar sent him into the steel steps. Damian hit a kick to the face and climbed to the top rope. T-Bar tripped him up and climbed up the turnbuckle as well. T-Bar lifted Priest up on his shoulders and hit a Fallaway Slam off the middle turnbuckle as RAW went to a commercial break.

When RAW returned, T-Bar had the United States Champion trapped in a Headlock. Damian battled free and connected with a jumping kick to the side of T-Bar’s head. Damian hit a Splash in the corner and then another kick. Priest hit the Broken Arrow and went for the cover but T-Bar was able to kick out at two.

Damian brought T-Bar back into the ring and dragged him to the corner. Priest then hit the Reckoning for the pinfall victory.

After the match, Apollo Crews interrupted with Commander Azeez. Crews introduced himself to a smattering of boos as he claimed that they have come to breath new life into Monday Night RAW. Apollo told Priest that the time will come where he will have the privilege to lose the United States Championship to him.

Big E def. Kevin Owens & Seth Rollins’ Plan Backfired

WWE Champion Big E faced Kevin Owens in tonight’s main event. Big E dominated early but Owens battled back. Owens elbowed Big E a few times and then hit a Leg Drop for a two count. The referee checked on Owens and Rollins attacked the WWE Champion with a cheap shot. Owens saw it happen and still went for the cover. Big E kicked out and rolled up Owens for the pinfall victory.

After the match, Big E told Owens that he knows he saw the cheap shot. Owens grabbed a microphone and claimed that he had no idea what happened. Owens apologized and called Rollins a stupid son of a bitch. Owens challenged Rollins to a match next week and apologized to Big E again. Big E didn’t accept the apology and planted Owens with the Big Ending to close the show.

Jeff Cobb Is Returning To MLW This Fall

0

Former Olympian Jeff Cobb is returning to Major League Wrestling, according to MLW head honcho Court Bauer.

Cobb is riding an all-time high in his career. He cleaned house throughout the G1 Climax 31 before meeting Kazuchika Okada. The big man from Honolulu lost the match, but solidified himself as one of the top pro wrestlers in the world.

Jeff Cobb Returning To MLW

Jeff Cobb is no stranger to the MLW ring and Bauer is welcoming him back. Here’s what the MLW boss told Digital Journal.

“The Opera Cup dates back to the turn of the 19th/20th century and the coveted cup has been claimed by the likes of George Hackenschmidt and Stu Hart. Who will be immortalized by having their name etched in the 100-year-old trophy? Find out in Philly.

“We will also see the vacant National Openweight Championship decided as well as some new faces entering the mix, like NZO and Jeff Cobb.”

Cobb is a member of the NJPW stable, United Empire. The group is led by former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Will Ospreay. With Ospreay missing the tournament due to a storyline, Cobb has stepped up and only suffered one loss in the Climax.

MLW Roster Refresh

Jeff Cobb is one of several notable names appearing for MLW in the months ahead.

Several wrestlers recently finished up with MLW, including former MLW Champion “Filthy” Tom Lawlor, Mance Warner and Jordan Oliver.

In addition to Cobb, Will Ospreay and nZo will be “rotating in” for MLW’s next shows.

SEScoops will let you know who Cobb will be facing once that information is available.

AEW Star Was Shocked When Konnan Appeared On Dynamite

0

One AEW star didn’t have Konnan appearing on Dynamite on his bingo card.

Konnan has his K100 podcast with fellow former WCW wrestler Disco Inferno. Oftentimes on the show, the two share some polarizing opinions on the wrestling business. In particular, Disco has been critical of AEW.

Konnan In AEW

Konnan ended up appearing on AEW TV as part of The Inner Circle vs. The Pinnacle feud. During an appearance on the Excuse Me: The Vickie Guerrero Show, Konnan said one unnamed AEW star admitted to him that he was surprised that he was allowed on Dynamite.

“I’ve actually had a star in AEW come up to me and go, ‘I can’t believe they hired you here, you s–t on us so much.’ I go, ‘correct. Let me correct you there, I don’t s–t on you. What’s good I put over, and what isn’t good I bury, and I do that with Raw too, and SmackDown, not just with you guys.’ Anyway, I love AEW and what they’re doing and I love the people there, much success to Tony Khan, I love that guy, he’s a real cool dude.”

AEW hasn’t been shy in bringing in legends, whether it be a long-term role or for an appearance or two. Tully Blanchard is the full-time manager of FTR and Shawn Spears. Jake “The Snake” Roberts manages Lance Archer. Sting is an active competitor who is aligned with Darby Allin.

Doudrop Reacts To Backlash On Queen’s Crown Match Lengths

0

Doudrop has responded to those who were upset by the length of the matches featured in the Queen’s Crown tournament.

Doudrop was in the finals of the tournament. She ultimately lost to Zelina Vega. Many were none too pleased with the tournament as most of the matches were quite short. Some matches didn’t even make it to the two-minute mark.

Doudrop Responds To Backlash

During an interview with GiveMeSport, Doudrop had an answer for those who weren’t pleased with how things turned out.

“But obviously, the qualifiers and that, you know, maybe they could have been longer. But I like to think that they were just little tastes. Because a lot of these matches were matches that hadn’t happened before, so you don’t want to give everything away right now. Maybe we see where these go in the future, but for now, we’ve given them a little taste of what these matches are right now so let’s see what we can do next time and make people want to see that match.”

One of Doudrop’s opponents in the tournament was Natalya. The match only lasted three minutes, which was actually on the lengthier side for Queen’s Crown.

The match lengths for the King of the Ring tournament were significantly longer. At one point, the average match length for Queens Crown was 2:04, compared to 9:48 for King of the Ring matches.

Corey Graves Clears The Air On Ripping Dana Brooke On Commentary

0

Corey Graves raised quite a few eyebrows with a rant on Dana Brooke’s in-ring career last month.

On the Oct. 4 episode of Monday Night Raw, Brooke went one-on-one with Shayna Baszler. During the match, Graves remarked that Dana Brooke should cut her losses because she “hasn’t accomplished much of anything.” Brooke seemingly responded to this in an Instagram story.

Corey Graves Says He Wasn’t Shooting On Dana Brooke

Some felt Corey Graves buried Brooke with his comments. During an appearance on the Out of Character podcast with Ryan Satin, Graves made it clear that he was simply doing his job and didn’t intend to make Brooke look bad.

“99.9% of the time, everybody realizes that it’s just me doing what I do. I love walking the line and being provocative. I also make sure, and I try to take great care, that I don’t ever harm anybody from a character perspective. I always want to make people better. For instance, the Dana Brooke issue, I actually sent her a text message the next morning saying, ‘Hey, no hard feelings, it wasn’t personal.’ Full disclosure, I don’t know what’s going to happen on these shows. I am reacting. That’s my choice. There have been times where I sat in production meetings and I have ideas, but I prefer to not know what’s happening because I like to think my reactions are more genuine, I get to use my wit a little bit better.”

It’s important to note that Brooke is a face on WWE TV. Graves is the heel commentator. The line he delivered on commentary may have simply alluded to the fact that Dana Brooke hasn’t won a title in WWE.

Graves will soon be experiencing married life. He and WWE Raw star Carmella recently got engaged.

Tom Lawlor Issues Statement On Free Agent Status

0

Tom Lawlor has spoken out after his MLW contract has wrapped up.

Lawlor made the transition from the MMA world to the wrestling industry back in 2014. At the time, he was still fighting but he began to find success inside the squared circle. In 2017, he signed with MLW.

Lawlor’s true breakthrough in wrestling was with MLW. He captured the promotion’s World Heavyweight Championship. His hard work earned him a spot on the NJPW Strong show. He is the current NJPW Strong Openweight Champion.

Tom Lawlor Says Goodbye To MLW

Fightful first dropped the report that Tom Lawlor would not re-sign with MLW. Lawlor took to his Twitter account to confirm the news.

“As of today, I am a free agent in the world of professional wrestling. Thank you to MLW, Court Bauer, Mister Saint Laurent, and beIN Sports for the time & effort they put in with me. But mostly I’d like to thank the MLW staff, wrestlers past & present, and fans for the 4 years of memories!”

Time will tell what’s next for Lawlor. For now, he’ll continue to be a fighting champion on NJPW Strong. SEScoops will keep you posted on the future of Tom Lawlor.

Bronson Reed Explains Why He Missed Bound For Glory

0

Bronson Reed was reportedly a lock for Impact Wrestling’s Bound For Glory event but it wasn’t meant to be.

Reed is free to sign with other promotions as he was part of a wave of NXT roster cuts back in August. Many were surprised by Reed’s release since he had been working dark matches and appeared primed for the main roster. He had also been pushed on NXT, winning the North American Title.

Reed spoke to Wrestling Inc and laid out what went south before his planned Impact Wrestling debut. It sounds like he did not have his governmental paperwork in order.

“Well, I’m not at liberty to say exactly what’s going to happen, but I am at the moment, this week, getting everything confirmed with immigration, so everything should be good to go, wherever I do go.”

He continued by saying that he’s excited to show the world what he’s capable of without the constraints WWE put on him.

“Basically, I feel like the last few years exposed me to the rest of the world. People got to see what Bronson Reed had to offer, but not really what Jonah had to offer. I was very much set in a mold of what WWE wanted me to be, so going forward, it’s more what I myself want to be as Jonah. So I’m looking to have some pretty cool matches and fun matches, a little different to what I did in WWE.”

Reed went on to admit that the visa process has been a “nightmare.” Reed isn’t the only one who has had to go through this. The IInspiration, a team also released by WWE, had to miss Slammiversary due to visa issues. The duo ended up making their promotional debut at Bound For Glory.

Time will tell when Reed will step inside an Impact ring. The promotion wrapped up a set of TV tapings in Las Vegas. Impact’s next big event will be Turning Point on Nov. 20.

Update On ROH Selling Its Tape Library

0

There are conflicting reports right now regarding if Ring of Honor is selling its tape library. A report from Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated stated that the library was up for sale to the highest bidder. According to comments made by Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, however, this might not be the case.

“They are not selling their tape library,” Meltzer said. “From talking to people – I know [Bryan Alvarez] talked to people in WWE, I talked to people in AEW and in Impact and none of them know of any tape library being for sale. And obviously, if the tape library was for sale, those would be the people you would try to sell it to, one of those companies or quite frankly, all of those companies.”

Meltzer continued to debunk a rumour that Sinclair only owns the ROH footage from 2012 onward.

“The other thing too is that for whatever reason there is a story going out that they only own the library from 2012 on and that’s not true either. Sinclair owns the entire library. That’s the situation,” Meltzer continued. “They aren’t folding the company but they are going to be just an indy. Some people think they always were but they were paying good contracts to a lot of people and, of course, they are no longer doing that. Those key people for the most part, I think are going to go. Some people won’t get offers but the ones that get offers are for sure going to go.”

Scrapped Plans For Live Version Of FireFly Fun House Revealed

0

Artist Kyle Scarborough recently revealed that there were plans for WWE to create live versions of Bray Wyatt’s FireFly Fun House characters.

He noted on Twitter that he drew up a mock-up of the Huskus character but the plans were ultimately shelved. Scarborough also noted that Wyatt would only go along with the plans if he was able to portray the characters himself.

“Fun Fact: the WWE wanted to bring the FireFly Fun House alive, but Bray Wyatt would only do it if he played the characters himself. Only one was mocked up, and this would’ve been the concept for FFH Huskus. It was hinted, but ultimately shelved.”

Scarborough also noted on social media that the former Bray Wyatt might be releasing a podcast soon. Wyatt has promised to speak on his time in WWE soon in various social media posts as well.

Scarborough also noted on Twitter that he was asked to mock-up ideas for Alexa Bliss’ look when she was first paired with the Fiend.

Bray Wyatt’s 90-day no compete clause with WWE expired on October 29th. He is now free to sign with another promotion. Tony Khan has previously stated that he has not spoken with Wyatt but would when the time is right.

“Yeah. I really like Windham,” said Khan to the New York Post. “I know him a little bit and I really enjoy him. The last time I saw him was at Chris Jericho’s birthday party and that was a long time ago.”

Ian Riccaboni Cautiously Optimistic About ROH’s Future

0

Ring of Honor announcer Ian Riccaboni has issued a statement regarding ROH going on hiatus.

Riccaboni reflects on his eight years with the promotion and expresses gratitude for the way they’ve treated him. He wrote on Twitter:

“ROH has bent over backwards for me in my time with the company. Countless flights to accommodate my office schedule, canceling a Japan trip (with pay!) at their expense to ensure I was home for Nora’s birth, helping support LGBTQ+ and literacy initiatives in my hometown of Allentown, PA, and more. Too many things to list. They believed in and cultivated me at age 30 (I was a late bloomer!) with very little prior experience.”

FDELljHVgAAfNo6?format=png&name=small

Hanging Up The Headset

Riccaboni is hopeful that Ring of Honor will return in 2022. However, he has no guarantees that he’ll be part of their next chapter.

“The news of this hiatus was communicated professionally and with care but there are a lot of question marks. I will forever wear the three letters ROH with great pride and treasure my time here. Hopefully, it is not over. I have reason for optimism that ROH will re-start in April. I hope I am a part of their plans.”

He hopes to use his notoriety to give back to his home town. He’s humbled by the outpouring of support he’s received since it became known that Ring of Honor as we know it might be over.

Riccaboni is flattered by some offers he’s received over the past week. He will assess these opportunities, but says he’ll probably “hang up the headset” if ROH does not return to live events come April.

“I am humbled by the support I personally and ROH as an organization has received in the last few days. I am flattered by those seeking to bring me in and I am assessing opportunities one by one. If April doesn’t come, it would break my heart and I will likely hang up the headset, so if you’re doing something fun, let me know.”

Jon Moxley Really Hates Ladder Matches

0

In 2016, Jon Moxley (then Dean Ambrose) won the Money in the Bank ladder match. He’d cash in his briefcase that night and become the new WWE Champion. According to comments he made recently on Wrestling Observer Radio, however, he is not a fan of those types of matches or ladders in wrestling at all.

“They’re not my thing. I hate them,” Moxley said of ladders on the show. “I feel like ladders have taken more years off my career…they f**k you up. Fans don’t even truly see all these bumps on the ladders, I don’t think they truly appreciate how much it f**ks people up.”

Moxley is no stranger to dangerous matches. He’s wrestled deathmatches with barbed wire, glass tubes, and many other weapons. Still, Moxley says ladders are something he just doesn’t want to deal with anymore.

“Elbow chips, f**king your back up. I don’t f**k with ladders anymore. My thing was like, ‘I don’t do ladders.’ I do other s**t. Ladders, not my thing. I was like, ‘I ain’t doing another ladder match again.'”

“I swore I would never do ladder matches again,” Moxley continued. “Until Tony books this ladder match. We’re talking and he’s like, ‘I need some star power in this match. For reasons, you need to be in this.’ I’m like, ‘Motherf**ker.’ I tried every excuse. Ultimately, he’s the boss, he’s paying me, I’ll do my best. I’m on the team.”

Listen to Jon Moxley’s comments about ladder matches, his scrapped feud with Mick Foley and much more here:

What’s Next For Jon Moxley?

Jon Moxley has advanced to the semi-finals of the AEW World Title Eliminator tournament. He defeated Ten from the Dark Order in the quarter-finals. He’ll face Orange Cassidy in the semi-finals this Wednesday night on Dynamite.

Should he get by Cassidy he would move on to the finals at AEW Full Gear against Bryan Danielson, who defeated Eddie Kingston in the semi-finals.

Danhausen and Mance Warner Injured At Independent Show

0

Two wrestlers who recently became free agents suffered injuries last night at a Next Generation Wrestling show in Knoxville, Tennessee.

ROH star Danhausen Tweeted out several photos of himself at the hospital and an X-ray of a broken leg. It is not clear how he sustained the injury exactly but he was in a tag match with Warhorse and someone landed on his leg.

Danhausen provided an update on his condition on Monday morning. Unfortunately, he has a broken tibia and fibia.

As for Mance Warner, he sustained a leg injury while facing the former Dirty Dango (Fandango) at the show. He was thrown to the outside and landed badly.

The injuries come at unfortunate times for both wrestlers. Mance Warner was just granted his release from MLW, as reported exclusively by SEScoops.com last week. This would have freed him up to sign with another promotion. His leg injury may delay that from happening, however.

Danhausen was with Ring of Honor and like the rest of the roster will not have his contract renewed at the end of the year. Following Final Battle, he would be free to sign with another promotion as well.

“Speedball” Mike Bailey Signs With Impact Wrestling

0

Independent wrestler “Speedball” Mike Bailey has signed with Impact Wrestling. He signed his contract with the promotion on Josh Alexander’s back on Sunday night at a Destiny Wrestling show in Mississauga, ON, Canada.

Bailey had been barred from wrestling in the United States from 2016 until recently. He received a 5-year ban after attempting to enter the United States from Canada for a series of EVOLVE shows without a work VISA.

Similar situations have happened to other Canadian wrestlers, such as Nicole Matthews, in the past as well. Matthews was looking to enter the country to compete in the Mae Young Classic.

Impact has released this 4K-resolution video of Mike Bailey signing his contract:

Ninja Mack on GCW Locker Room: “Everyone Can Perform”

0

GCW star Ninja Mack recently discussed his role in Game Changer Wrestling, the overall locker room morale and a whole lot more.

Speaking to PWInsider, the talented high-flyer revealed how grateful he is to be part of the GCW locker room:

“Everyone’s got to make sure they’re hitting their roles” Ninja Mack began. “If you’re opening match, you got to be very exciting. If you’re the finishing match, you got to bring that energy to close the show.

“And if you’re in the middle of the card you got to find ways to keep that crowd alive for over three hours, because those GCW shows are not short” Mack continued.

“We have such good performers that we’re all interchangeable and everyone can perform and get the best out of that crowd. You can put those tag matches with the Briscoes and the Second Gear Crew, and you can put any of them anywhere and you’re going to have a great match.

Ninja Mack on GCW Locker Room

“You can put AJ Gray anywhere on the card, and it’s going to be a great match. They find ways to get energy out of all these people, so everyone is stepping up” Ninja Mack added. “The young guys are stepping up.

“I’m very new to GCW.  I’ve only been rolling with GCW for four or five months, and I’m grateful that they let me into their locker room, but they’ve been there and know each other” Mack noted.

“I’m trying to know these guys and get to meet them. But they’ve been nothing but great to me. They’ve welcomed me. Then sometimes they hit me in the head with matches and chairs, but besides that, it’s been pretty good” the GCW star concluded.

Thunder Rosa Reveals She Recently Suffered A Concussion

0

Thunder Rosa revealed on her YouTube vlog that she recently suffered a concussion. She noted in the video that she had been unable to train for 10 days due to the injury.

“I’m going to the gym finally. I haven’t exercised in about 10 days after my concussion. Just trying to be safe,” Rosa said in the video.

Although it is not clear when Rosa suffered the concussion, she was out of action for about two weeks. Her last match for AEW was on October 16th. She then didn’t wrestle for 14 days before returning to action last night in a match for AAW in Berwyn, Illinois, where she defeated Jody Threat

Rosa’s latest vlog is available in the player below:

Thunder Rosa In The TBS Championship Tournament

Thunder Rosa received a bye in the 1st round of the TBS Championship tournament as a result of being ranked #4 in the division. In the quarter-finals, Rosa will face the winner of the Jamie Hayter vs Anna Jay match scheduled for this week’s Dynamite from Independence, Missouri.

If Rosa defeats the winner of the Jamie Hayter vs Anna Jay match, she’ll move on to the semi-finals. There she’ll meet either Jade Cargill or the winner of the Red Velvet vs The Bunny match scheduled for next week’s Rampage.

The Briscoes & GCW: Update On Title Run and ROH Affiliation

0

The Briscoes made their shock debut for GCW recently and then went on to win the GCW Tag Team Championships at the War Ready event.

It was believed that GCW would be sending talent over to Ring of Honor to try and win the titles back, with matches taking place at the November tapings for ROH.

With the recent news that ROH is going on hiatus, the situation is now back up in the air regarding the GCW Tag Team titles and whether or not Game Changer Wrestling would be working with the promotion going forward.

PWInsider recently confirmed the latest on the situation, saying: “There had been plans to bring in several GCW talents to wrestle The Briscoes at the TV tapings in Baltimore as a way to extend the storyline where the Briscoes won the GCW Tag Team titles but there is no word whether that is still happening.”

The Briscoes GCW Tag Champions

There has been no word from GCW as to whether they will be continuing the storyline with the promotion.

However, with the November tapings still taking place for Ring of Honor and the announcement that they will be shutting up shop for a while there might be a few more eyeballs on the ‘final’ few events in ROH’s 2021, so it would probably be in GCW’s best interests to do a crossover.

Several ROH Talent Asked If Promotion Would Closing For Good

0

The news that Ring of Honor would be going on hiatus until 2022 shocked many in the wrestling industry, with performers inside the company reportedly asking Joe Koff himself if the company was going out of business for good.

PWInsider recently confirmed that talent took the issue up directly with Koff on a recent Zoom call with talent.

“We are told by numerous Ring of Honor talents that on the Zoom call this week, numerous talents called upon Joe Koff to tell them that the promotion was over, if it was actually closing” PWInsider noted.

Joe Koff Answers Talent Worries

It was also revealed by the site that “during the call, Koff repeatedly told them that the company would continue on and resume live events in April.”

The entire roster of ROH is also reportedly booked for the November TV tapings, as was to be expected.

We hope to provide more on the story and the future of the company as it develops. It is believed that ROH will still be running and get back to their live event schedule around April 2022, providing that the easing of restrictions following the COVID-19 pandemic continues.

Revel in the never-before-told stories about his early life in Cincinnati, Ohio; the gritty independent wrestling scene where he cut his teeth; the complicated corporate landscape of the WWE where he bucked against authority; and the rebellious upstart AEW, where he won the championship in 2020 and was finally free to achieve the vision of the wrestler he’d always wanted to be.

Big E Comments On New Day’s Creative Freedom

0

WWE Champion Big E says one of the reasons New Day was able to become as popular as they are is because they were granted more creative freedom than others in the company. During an appearance on Breakfast Club Power 101.5, Big E noted that Vince McMahon has given them the freedom to play around with their promos.

“Vince [McMahon] is still very heavily involved and the one that pulls all the strings. But the reason we were able to take off is because we got some more freedom with our promos,” Big E said on the show. “A lot of people are handed their script and you have to say it, but thankfully we have the freedom to play around with what we say.”

Big E also continued to say there was one creative idea from Vince McMahon he turned down, however. He was not interested in “dancing with his pecs.”

“Years ago, they asked me if I could do a pec dance. A dude called Chris Masters used to pop his pecs rhythmically and I do a lot of silly nonsense, but I was like, ‘I ain’t trying to do all that.’”

Big E is either the 54th or 56th WWE Champion of all-time, depending on whether or not you count Ted Dibiase and Antonio Inoki’s title victories. When he defeated Bobby Lashely for the title on the September 13th, 2021 episode of RAW, it was the 142nd time the belt has changed hands. He has already successfully defended the title against Bobby Lashley twice (once was a no-contest) and Drew McIntyre.

Tony Schiavone Comments On Why Fans Are Booing Cody Rhodes

0

Tony Schiavone recently commented on AEW fans booing Cody Rhodes as of late during an episode of Ask Tony Live! on AdFreeShows.com. Schiavone noted that there are plenty of fans still cheering for Cody.

“Cody has a reality show and he gets his own special entrance. I understand he’s getting booed, but he gets cheered a lot too. I’m in the arena so I can hear it and see it much more than you guys can. I think he got cheered as much as he got booed in Orlando, it’s just the people who boo are much louder and more obnoxious,” Schiavone said.

“I even saw pictures afterwards of guys who were taking selfies with him saying, ‘Hey, I booed him, but he’s a great guy’, which he is. When Justin Roberts started calling him ‘The Prince of Wrestling’, that kind of stuck in people’s craw as well,” Schiavone continued.

Schiavone continued to say that Cody being an EVP in the company plays a role in how fans are responding to him. There may be a perception that he receives preferential treatment because of his role in the AEW office.

“Obviously, he’s an EVP so everybody thinks that he gets preferential treatment, and that’s not true. I mean, he lost the first two matches to Malakai Black, so he hasn’t won all of his matches. He lost to Brodie (Lee). It’s not that he wins every match he’s in. Some people just don’t like him. I happen to like him because I like his family.”

Cody Rhodes and Malakai Black React To Match On Dynamite

Rhodes cut a promo this week on Dynamite making it clear he would never turn heel. He stated that would be the easy thing for him to do. Rhodes also stated that he would not go back on the stipulation that says he can never challenge for the AEW World Championship again.

Following his loss to Cody Rhodes in their 3rd match, Malakai Black took to social media to offer comment. He stated that their rivalry was not about wins and losses and that he’s made it so that the world hates Cody. Black made his comments in an Instagram post not long after the loss.

Bray Wyatt Responds To Reports That He “Deserved To Be Fired”

0

Bray Wyatt is officially a free agent after his 90-day no compete clause with WWE expired on October 29th. He has removed all mention of WWE from his social media tags. His new Twitter handle is now just @Windham6.

The former Bray Wyatt also responded to a report that stated some backstage in WWE felt that Wyatt “deserved to be fired.” The report stated that a WWE source believed Wyatt deserved to be released due to being protective of his character and various other antics while making millions of dollars.

Wyatt first responded with a GIF of the Rock rolling his eyes before commenting, “Now that we have Johnny and Bruce’s opinion, I would like to share mine soon.”

What Is Next For Windham Rotunda?

Recent reports have suggested that while Impact Wrestling has reached out to him, a deal between the two parties was never close to materializing. AEW’s Tony Khan said he hasn’t spoken with Wyatt but would when the time is right. He made those comments before his 90-day no-compete window was up, however.

According to a report from Fightful, Rotunda has also been in Los Angeles recently inquiring about possible opportunities in Hollywood.

Shotzi Blackheart Explains Turning On Sasha Banks

0

Shotzi Blackheart lost a non-title match to Charlotte Flair Friday night on Smackdown. Sasha Banks accidentally caused a distraction that allowed Flair to the hit Natural Selection and pick up the win. Shotzi then attacked Sasha after the match in an apparent heel turn.

Later on Talking Smack, Shotzi explained her actions.

“I am fed up, plain and simple, I am done being the happy and easy-going Shotzi. I have been screwed over on title opportunities over title opportunities. My tag partner [Tegan] left me. I came here wanting to have fun and kick ass. Well, you know what, I haven’t had fun in a really long time.”

Shotzi would later make it clear that she is now targeting Sasha Banks.

“So, there’s just one thing left to do. Sasha [Banks] was my breaking point. And now, she’s my target. I’m not letting anyone walk over me anymore. I am running over everyone in my way!”

This Friday’s match against Flair was Shotzi’s 1st televised singles match on the main roster, although she’s wrestled in 3 dark matches. Her tag-team with Tegan Nox was 3-0 on the main roster before being split up. All 3 of their victories were over Natalya & Tamina.

Tony Nese On What Vince McMahon Said About His He-Man Inspired Gear

0

Tony Nese has been making headlines recently after debuting for All Elite Wrestling and he already has an idea on how he wants to differentiate his AEW character from his WWE persona. The former champion was recently a guest on Insight with Chris Van Vliet. He discussed things such as getting released from WWE and more.

Discussing the ideas he has for his AEW persona, Nese said that he will continue being the premier athlete but he wants to play a character that is a little bit more serious:

“So the Premier Athlete is still going to be who I am and what I represent, but I do want it to be a little bit more of a serious thing rather than ‘Hey look at my abs.’ I love being booed and flexing, but at the same time, I switched up my look to where I am wearing more branded stuff.”

What Vince McMahon Said About Tony Nese’s Gear

Tony Nese
Tony Nese

Tony Nese continued his explanation mentioning how in WWE he was just trying to get a pop with his gear that looked good. He also recalled an interesting remark from Vince McMahon about one of his attires:

“In WWE, I was just trying to pop by getting gear that just looked good. I wore a jacket because they told me I needed something up top. They said ‘You should wear something, but don’t cover up anything.’

For 1 show I wore a He-Man type thing, but nobody thought it looked cool, Vince said ‘Is he wearing a bra out there?’ Straight after I heard that, I threw it into the garbage.”

Tony Nese claimed that he wants to be taken more seriously in AEW. He wants to be his own brand though he will still be kissing his biceps and continue flexing. The former WWE star made his first appearance for AEW during the October 23 episode of Dynamite. He has since made his in-ring debut for the company as well.

Jon Moxley Is Glad WWE Nixed His Feud With Mick Foley

0

It’s common knowledge that WWE wanted to introduce Jon Moxley on the main roster through a feud with Mick Foley before the idea for The Shield was formed. Though the former Dean Ambrose believes that it’s actually better that this dream match never happened because officials would have not given him the freedom that he desired.

The former AEW world champion talked about this during a recent interview with Wrestling Observer. He explained why it’s better that the bout remains a dream match:

“In retrospect it’s actually better that me and Foley just remains a total dream match feud. If 90s Mick Foley and current or maybe a decade ago version of me if you do [a feud] with Mick Foley. For sure that would be the s**t. That’s some dream match s**t.

But at that exact time what would have actually happened was I would have come to the building and I would have had it all in my head exactly what I wanted to say. And I would have the promo in my head and the angle in my head and I would have had it all ready. It would have been very cemented in my head then they would have handed me a script.”

Jon Moxley On How He Would Have Reacted To A Script

Jon Moxley and The Shield
Jon Moxley made his debut as part of the Shield

Mox explained how he wasn’t accustomed to working with a script at the time. So he would have reacted very poorly to it and be deemed hard to work with as a result:

“At this time I didn’t know there were scripts. I would have not reacted very good. I would have reacted poorly to say the least to being handed a script, and then I would have been deemed hard to work with and a bad attitude and yada yada. It would have all just probably gone to s**t.”

Jon Moxley then discussed how the two could have had a great feud if they ever crossed paths outside of WWE. According to him, it would have been a money-making match. Moxley made his main roster debut as part of the Shield during the 2012 Survivor Series PPV. You can check out his comments below:
