Renee Paquette Says She Asked For Her WWE Release 5 Years Ago

0

Renee Paquette left WWE after an 8-year-long stint with the company in 2020. She played a lot of roles before her departure. Though this run could have been a lot shorter had the officials granted her first release request.

The former WWE star recently had an interview with Ariel Helwani. She discussed things such as the covid-19 pandemic, her pre-WWE career, and more.

During the interview, Paquette revealed that she actually asked for her release from the promotion about 5 years ago. Though she is glad that she wasn’t given the orders:

“About five years ago, I asked for my release from WWE and I wasn’t granted it. It was before I did commentary and other things.

I’m glad I didn’t leave at that point and that I wasn’t granted my release” said Renee Paquette, “because my resume wouldn’t be what it is today if I had left.”

Explaining why she wanted to leave at the time, the female star said that she felt like she kept hitting the wall. The former Raw commentator kept being told that she cannot be a star in WWE because she wasn’t a wrestler.

Apart from this, Renee Paquette also talked about her post WWE career. She revealed whether she has had any talks with Tony Khan about potentially joining AEW.

Former WWE Champion Appears On Dynamite

0

Former WWE cruiserweight champion Tony Nese made an appearance on this week’s Saturday night Dynamite. He was shown as a part of the crowd during the opening bout of the night.

The show opened with the AEW world title eliminator tournament match between Bryan Danielson and Dustin Rhodes. The former WWE star was shown on the screen during the bout and referred to as “one of the hot free agents in pro wrestling.”

After wrestling for promotions such as Impact Wrestling and others for a few years, Nese made his WWE debut as part of the cruiserweight classic tournament in 2016.

He made his main roster debut during the September 26 episode of Raw the same year. He lost a singles match against the then cruiserweight champion T.J. Perkins.

Tony Nese became a regular member of the cruiserweight division after this. He wrestled on main event and later 205 live in addition to Raw.

He won a tournament to determine the #1 contender for the cruiserweight title prior to WrestleMania 35. The high-flying star went on to defeat Buddy Murphy for the championship in the pre-show of the PPV.

Tony was released from his WWE contract on June 25. Now we will have to see what AEW has planned for him.

Corey Graves And Carmella Confirm Engagement

0

WWE superstars Corey Graves and Carmella have confirmed their engagement. The longtime couple revealed the news via a post on Twitter.

The female star shared a photo of herself kissing Corey Graves while showing off her engagement ring. In the caption of the tweet made on her birthday October 23, she wrote “Best birthday ever,”

https://twitter.com/CarmellaWWE/status/1452092646172905474

Carmella, real name Leah Van Dale began her relationship with the former NXT star back in 2019. She has been dating Graves, real name Matthew Polinsky ever since.

These two aren’t the only wrestling couple to get engaged recently. SmackDown star Toni Storm announced her engagement to NJPW’s Juice Robinson earlier this month.

The duo of Scarlett Bordeaux & Karrion Kross also made a similar announcement just last month. Scarlett confirmed her engagement via Twitter as well.

Corey Graves has been working as a commentator on the main roster since 2016. He is currently part of both SmackDown and Raw’s broadcasting teams.

Carmella on the other hand had only been part of the SmackDown roster since the brand split returned in 2016. However, she was moved to the Raw brand for the first time since then during the recently concluded draft.

SEScoops would like to congratulate the couple on their engagement.

Moose Becomes New Impact World Champion At Bound For Glory

0

Moose has become the new Impact Wrestling world heavyweight champion after picking up a couple of big victories during tonight’s Bound For Glory PPV event.

The former NFL player was part of the Call Your Shot Gauntlet match on the show. He won the match and a future title opportunity by defeating Matt Cardona last.

The main event of the night then saw Christian defending his Impact world title against Josh Alexander. The former champion had given up his X Division title for a shot at the world championship.

Alexander won this match after a tough battle between the two stars. He put Christian in an ankle lock and made him tap out. Josh won the match after stepping on the former WWE star’s hand to stop him from getting to the ropes.

Christian showed respect to the new champion by hugging him and handing him the title before heading to the back. Alexander’s wife and son who were in the front row then made their way to the ring to celebrate.

This is where Moose entered the arena again and cashed in his trophy. Josh Alexander moved his family out of the way, only to take a spear from Moose and lose the title.

Latest report suggests that the partnership between AEW and Impact Wrestling may be ending soon. If so, this was a good way to write Christian off the Impact TV and build a feud between Moose and Alexander to move the storyline further.

New AEW Full Gear Championship Match Announced

0

All Elite Wrestling has confirmed that Dr. Britt Baker will defend the Women’s World championshipC against Tay Conti at the upcoming AEW Full Gear PPV.

This week’s episode of Rampage saw the current champion successfully defending her title against Anna Jay. She then unleashed a post-match assault on Jay.

Conti came out to make the save for The Dark Order member. She held the women’s title high after sending Baker in retreat, suggesting that she is next in line for a shot at the belt.

AEW then confirmed on this week’s episode of Dynamite that the #1 ranked female star on the roster will get a chance to win the championship at the upcoming PPV.

The episode also featured a Britt Baker interview segment hosted by Tony Schiavone. The champion claimed that Toy Conti has done nothing in AEW except showing off her a%* and she will beat her at Full Gear.

This is the second championship match that has been confirmed for the show. Hangman Page previously won a ladder match to earn the right to challenge Kenny Omega for the AEW world title at the upcoming PPV.

AEW Full Gear this year will be taking place on Saturday, November 13. The show will air live from Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Watch The IInspiration Make Their Impact Debut At Bound For Glory

0

The IInspiration has finally arrived at Impact Wrestling and the duo has picked up a big win in their debut match at the Bound For Glory event.

The promotion had announced that the former WWE stars will be making their debut for the company during their biggest show of the year. They had confirmed that the former IIconics will face Decay for the knockouts tag team titles.

The female stars then opened the show. They walked out to Harley Cameron singing The IInspiration’s theme song for the pair’s first entrance in the company:

The two introduced each other by their new names and claimed that they are here to inspire people. The tag team did their signature pose before kicking off the championship match.

The ending of the bout saw all four competitors getting in on the action. Havok hit a choke bomb on Jessie McKay and a forearm to Cassie Lee.

Though Lee managed to fight off both the opponents and sent Rosemary on the floor. The IInspiration sent Havok into the corner a couple of times and then into the ring post outside.

Rosemary got up to send McKay back into the ring but Lee tagged herself in. Lee delivered a big knee to Rosemary and hit a neckbreaker on her opponent to pick up the victory for her team.

There is no word yet on the length of their contract with Impact Wrestling. Although the championship win suggests that The IInspiration is here to stay.

Charlotte Flair Escorted Out Of SmackDown After Becky Lynch Confrontation

0

The heat for the awkward SmackDown segment and the post-show confrontation between Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch is falling on Flair and not Lynch per the latest report. PWinsider, who broke the story, has provided more details on the aftermath of the situation. The new report reveals how people backstage feel about the surprising turn of events and who is being blamed.

Flair had been arguing against being made to ‘look week’ in the segment throughout the day. She is the one seen as the person responsible for the segment going off the rails. There is heat on The Queen in ‘certain circles’ for disrespecting Becky.

Becky Lynch, on the other hand, has no heat for the confrontation as there was no physical altercation between the two. The locker room saw it as The Man standing her ground and reaching the boiling point after being pushed too hard.

Some feel that Flair took the segment that was supposed to build a match between herself and Sasha Banks and put the attention back on her and Becky. People believed that the whole thing undermined Banks, who is being positioned as the top babyface of the SmackDown brand opposed to Flair.

Though the site has rectified the report about the script for the segments after it was revealed that Charlotte was supposed to play ‘cat and mouse’ with the belt. They confirmed the plans but added that Flair wasn’t expected to pull the belt away from Becky at any point. The segment was not rehearsed in advance or suggested to the talent for that matter.

Charlotte Flair Was Escorted Out Of SmackDown

People believe Charlotte Flair disrespected Becky Lynch
People believe Charlotte Flair disrespected Becky Lynch

The belief among people backstage is Flair pulling the title was done to make Lynch stupid. She would have had to pick up the belt after being ‘one-upped.’ This obviously didn’t happen as Sonya Deville made Flair hand the belt to her. Becky Lynch ended up throwing the SmackDown women’s title at her arch-rival, which was supposed to happen but happened ‘differently’ than originally planned.

The confrontation between the female stars happened in the gorilla position. Fightful select reported that Charlotte Flair was told to leave the building while Becky Lynch competed in a dark match. This was done to avoid further argument. The new report adds that Flair was escorted out by a WWE official.

Flair was said to be very upset coming out of the situation as well, though it likely wasn’t a strategy to get out of her contract. Charlotte has years left on her current deal. WWE is not likely to let someone they deem an important asset walk out of the company only for them to show up on TNT.

Later on Dynamite, Wardlow confronted MJF above shoving him in the way of Sting. MJF told Wardlow that he is doing a great job but he is starting to realize that is too much pressure. Tony Khan Recalls Pitching Darby Allin Pairing To Sting

0

AEW founder Tony Khan has reflected on the time he first pitched teaming up with Darby Allin to Sting.

Sting and Darby have been aligned since late 2020. Many believe the two are a perfect pairing and that Sting’s wealth of knowledge has been a great asset to Darby.

Speaking to Z100 New York, Khan looked back at the time he first told Sting about the idea of pairing him with Darby Allin.

“When he first talked to me, I said, ‘There’s a young kid, please look at him because I think you’d be so great together and it’d be such a great pairing.’ And now, in real life, they’re such close friends, and they’re such a big part of each other’s life. They have so much in common. They’re both these straightedge, gray-hearted people who do all this great work, charitable stuff for kids. Neither of them does drugs, drink, nothing, and they’re both completely straightedge, and they’re both just so cool and have so much in common. But they had never met, and bringing them together and now seeing what it’s become to people around the world, it’s one of my favorite things about wrestling.”

Since making his AEW debut, many have been surprised by Sting’s performances in the ring. After all, he suffered a scary injury in a match against Seth Rollins back in 2015 and it appeared his in-ring career was over. Sting has since had a few matches in AEW and most agree he’s looked better than he has in years.

Not bad for a 62-year-old.

As for Darby, he’s one of the bright young stars of AEW. He’s currently involved in a feud with another young star in MJF. The two are expected to clash at the Full Gear PPV on Nov. 13.

Update On Charlotte & Becky Lynch’s Strained Relationship, Vince McMahon’s Reaction

0

The scuffle between Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch after last night’s SmackDown episode has quickly become the topic of discussion among fans.

Alex McCarthy of Talk Sport has provided some more details on what led to the confrontation between the two stars and the aftermath of it.

According to him, the awkwardness that ensued during the title exchange segment was result of a timing error. Charlotte was meat to play ‘cat and mouse’ with the belt.

Lynch was supposed to get her hands on the strap before Flair pulled it back, but a timing error between the pair led to the title being dropped on the floor. Whatever the reason, the championship wasn’t meant to be dropped.

The segment was a topic of debate among the people involved throughout the day. None of the talent were happy with the way it went during the show but they moved things along as Sasha Banks had to make her way to the ring.

The Relationship Of Charlotte Flair And Becky Lynch

Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch
The relationship between Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch has been strained for a while

Charlotte Flair walked past gorilla without talking to Vince McMahon after the show. The boss wasn’t happy with this action from the women’s champion. The Queen is now headed to this week’s Dynamite from Orlando to support Andrade.

The friendship of Flair and Lynch has apparently been strained for some time. People close to them believe that Flair didn’t like being called ‘plastic’ during a promo a couple of years ago. Their relationship has been tense ever since.

Charlotte is also said to be a huge fan of Bianca Belair. Per the report, she actually campaigned to lose to the EST clean during their championship match on Raw. Flair believed that the DQ finish killed what could have been a big win for Belair.

Becky Lynch is now the Raw women’s champion while Charlotte holds the counterpart SmackDown belt. These two will meet at the Survivor Series PPV, that is if both of them remain champions till then.

Jim Ross Diagnosed With Skin Cancer

0

AEW play-by-play ace Jim Ross has confirmed that he has skin cancer.

Ross had posted a graphic image of a skin issue on his ankle. JR said that skin cancer was the likely cause. Ross underwent a CT scan and had been waiting for the results.

Jim Ross updated fans on his Twitter account. The skin cancer diagnosis has been confirmed.

“On my way to Orlando for tonight’s AEW Dynamite. Skin cancer confirmed. Waiting on radiologist study to determine best treatment. Likely radiation. Feeling great and ready to attack. Thanks for the support from so many.”

Never one to let anything slow him down, JR will be on commentary duty tonight for AEW Dynamite. The show will emanate from the Addition Financial Arena in Orlando, Florida.

This isn’t the first time Ross has had to deal with skin cancer. JR underwent a skin procedure back in 2016. Two years later, he had the cancer completely removed from his shoulder.

In addition to his work on AEW TV, Ross also has his own podcast, Grilling JR. For most episodes, Ross is joined by Conrad Thompson. One can hope that we’ll be hearing positive updates going forward.

SEScoops wishes Jim Ross all the best during this time.

Charlotte Flair And Becky Lynch Had Shoot Confrontation After SmackDown

0

Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch had a shoot confrontation after going off script during their title exchange segment on this week’s episode of SmackDown.

The Queen had raised concern about the championship exchange segment before the show went on air, according to reports from PWinsider.

Flair reportedly didn’t want to look weak herself or wanted her title reign to look week during the show. Though the segment went as planned despite her concerns.

The tensions grew when the Raw women’s champion went off script during the title exchange. There was a moment where she had to hand her title belt to her rival.

However, Charlotte Flair pulled the title and threw it on the mat away from Becky, which wasn’t the original plan. Sonya Deville demanded Charlotte to retrieve the belt and hand it to her, which she did.

The on-screen WWE official asked Becky to hand over her title as well, but The Man threw her belt at Flair instead, which was again not part of the plan.

Charlotte then picked up the SmackDown women’s title and did the mic work to set up Sasha Banks’ entrance. Things went as planned from there on with Becky teasing a potential match with Flair or Banks for Survivor Series.

After the show-closing altercation between Flair and Banks, Charlotte went to the back. This is where the face off between the two horsewomen took place.

Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch had a confrontation over Flair allegedly disrespecting Lynch by “trying to make her look bad.” The two exchanged loud words but they didn’t get physical.

Stay tuned for more on this altercation.

Paul Wight Teases Wrestling On Tonight’s Dynamite

0

Paul Wight is teasing lacing up his boots and stepping back inside the squared circle for a match during this week’s episode of Saturday night Dynamite. The heavyweight star recently had an interview with Brandon Kravitz podcast. He discussed having ring rust before his AEW debut match after not having wrestled for over a year and more.

Wight also teased getting physical at the Dynamite episode from Orlando. He said that he is having the itch to lace up his boots once again this Saturday:

“I might be lacing up my boots this Saturday, it’s about that itch. It has been a little bit so I’m bringing my gear bag with me, So if you come to the event in Orlando, you might see my big ass in the ring. Where else are you going to see 400lbs of spandex, brother? That alone is worth the price of admission. ”

This will be only the third match for Paul Wight if he does wrestle at Dynamite tonight. He made his in ring debut against QT Marshall at All Out and then defeated CPA, RSP & VSK in a three-on-one handicap match on September 22 Elevation.

Though it’s worth mentioning here that AEW has not officially announced a match for the former champion as of this writing. So his status for the show is still up in the air.

How Vince McMahon Reacted To Rampage Beating SmackDown

0

Vince McMahon tried to no sell SmackDown’s rating loss to AEW Rampage suggests the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

According to observer, the WWE chairman was at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, CA when the full ratings for both the shows became available on Monday.

Mr. McMahon didn’t get mad in front of anyone. It was important because there have been times where the boss has come across as immature in such situations before.

The original fast national numbers were available on Saturday where WWE garnered more viewers. While the chairman didn’t know the full breakdown of numbers, he likely had an idea of the close competition before Monday.

Contrary to the belief, the numbers were not a major topic of discussion among talents. They were busy with the TV taping followed by their trip to Saudi Arabia.

Per the Observer, the key personnel within the organization were in total denial of the numbers. Their reaction was something similar to what Roman Reigns said about how the Vince McMahon owned promotion appeals to more people.

WWE SmackDown was shifted to FS1 last week and the final half-hour went head to head with AEW Rampage. While WWE’s show still drew more viewers overall, AEW managed to attract more viewers in the key demo during their collision.

Update On Plans For Hit Row And Other NXT Stars Following Draft

0

The updated WWE rosters after draft came into effect from this Friday’s SmackDown including the NXT stars that were called up such as Hit Row, and more.

A new report from PWinsider provides some updates on these stars. They reveal what the company is planning for some of the talents.

According to the site, “Top Dolla” AJ Francis is expected to be pushed as a singles star. His Hit Row partners Ashante “Thee” Adonis and Isaiah “Swerve” Scott are expected to compete in the tag team division.

Though this doesn’t mean that the group will be breaking up and they will continue being a faction. There is no word on plans for “B-Fab” Briana Brandy but she will likely compete in the women’s division

Shotzi Blackheart is scheduled to work as a heel on the SmackDown brand after her split with Tegan Nox. Nox on the other hand will continue to work as a babyface on Raw. Xia Li will be a babyface on the blue brand.

Another star that is scheduled to work as a babyface is Mia Yim. Her Reckoning character appears to have been dropped so we might finally see her NXT persona on the main roster.

There is talk of Apollo Crews working in a tag team with Commander Azeez on Raw. Azeez has mostly been working as the muscle for Crews since his debut.

Deonna Purrazzo Praises Impact Signing The IInspiration & Masha Slamovich

0

Women’s wrestling has been celebrated and honored all week long, alongside the release of this year’s PWI Women’s 150. Among that list, included the IMPACT Knockouts Champion, Deonna Purrazzo, as she reigned supreme as #3 in the rankings.

Purrazzo is scheduled to defend her Knockouts Championship against Mickie James this Saturday, October 23rd at Impact Wrestling’s Bound For Glory PPV.

Ahead of this title defense, SEScoops correspondent Ella Jay caught up with “The Virtuosa” to discuss her thoughts on some of her fellow female competitors, including “The Russian Dynamite” Masha Slamovich.

The full interview with Knockouts Champion, Deonna Purrazzo, can be viewed below.

Masha Slamovich Joins Impact

Masha Slamovich
Masha Slamovich

Purrazzo’s thoughts on Masha Slamovich signing with IMPACT Wrestling after Knockouts Knockdown:

“I’ve said for 18-months that I want this division, while I’m on top, to be the most coveted around the world. I want everyone to be a part of our Knockouts Division, to want to be a part of the Knockouts Division, to want to be the Knockouts Champion. And we need women like Masha Slamovich, who is one of the best in the world coming up, putting the best out there, and putting her best foot forward.

So, I’m really honored that I kind of got to be a part of that [moment] and that it turned out she was offered a contract. That was not planned or intended, that’s just how good she is. She earned it live and in that moment. We need women like Masha, we need women like Lady Frost.

We need these up and coming independent talent who are ready to make a name for themselves and just looking for the right company to give them an opportunity. I feel very synonymous with those girls because I was very much in that same position for a long time and I’m really happy to see them thrive, because in turn it makes our entire Knockouts division thrive.

Iron sharpens iron is what I said about Masha. I feel like that’s true for so many women on the independent scene right now that could come in and have incredible matches and tell incredible stories for our Knockouts Division.”

Mercedes Martinez

Mercedes Martinez
Mercedes Martinez

Deonna Purrazzo also expressed high regard to the winner of the Knockouts Knockdown tournament champion, Mercedes Martinez:

“She’s someone that I wrestled some of my first matches against. She’s someone that obviously I get to wrestle now so to see her kind of being in the same space that I was when I was released from NXT, kind of just being like ‘I want to go out there and I want to do everything I can do, and I want to work for every company that I can, and make you regret it’ is how I felt.

To see she kind of has that chip on her shoulder makes me really happy because she’s more than capable. And I’d love to see her land a spot at IMPACT as well, because we need those veteran presences in our lockeroom.

We have quite a few women on our roster who have been with IMPACT for a long time and have that presence, but I think Mercedes Martinez is an entire entity of her own. There is no one quite like her and if you’re going to have the best division in the world, we need the best talent in the world. Mercedes Martinez is definitely in that conversation for me.”

Besides the addition of Slamovich to the Knockouts Division, like previously mentioned, IMPACT Wrestling will also be welcoming The IInspiration (formerly Peyton Royce and Billie Kay in WWE), at Bound For Glory. They vie for the Knockouts Tag Team Championships against Decay.

The IInspiration

The IInspiration will make Impact debut at Bound For Glory
The IInspiration is comin to Bound For Glory

Deonna Purrazzo also discussed her thoughts on the IInspiration coming to IMPACT:

“I am so excited that The IInspiration is coming because I wasn’t sure if they were or not, so when it was announced at the end of Knockouts Knockdown it was like ‘hell yeah! Another victory for us’. I’m going to say the same thing I said about Mercedes [Martinez] about Cassie [Lee] and Jess [McKay], I think that they are unique in their own ways.

They could be serious and want to wrestle, but then they have this really fun, quirky, comedic side of them that I think is different, and brings something different to our Knockouts Division.

I’m excited to see who walks away as the Knockouts Tag Team Champions at Bound For Glory, but at the end of the day, the more talent that lands at IMPACT–and more than then them coming in, I really am enjoying the fact that IMPACT has become this landing zone, and people are actively seeking out IMPACT Wrestling to give them the opportunities they maybe feel they didn’t get anywhere else. So, for them to come in, I’m really excited to see what else they can do as a tag team.”

IMPACT Wrestling will be hosting Bound For Glory on Saturday, October 23rd from Las Vegas at 10pm est / 7pm pst.

WWE SmackDown Results (10/22): Brock Lesnar Suspended, Hit Row Debuts

0

WWE SmackDown aired live from the Intrust Bank Arena in Wichita, Kansas. It was the season premiere of SmackDown and the first show following WWE Crown Jewel. Brock Lesnar vowed to beat Roman Reigns senseless when he arrived at the arena tonight.

SmackDown Results (10/22)

  1. Drew McIntyre def. Sami Zayn
  2. Mansoor def. Mustafa Ali
  3. Hit Row def. jobbers in a squash match
  4. Happy Corbin def. Shinsuke Nakamura

Here are the takeaways from this week’s show:

Brock Lesnar Attacked Roman Reigns, Adam Pearce Suspended Him

Universal Champion Roman Reigns made his way to the ring with Paul Heyman to a chorus of boos from the crowd. Reigns smirked and stood in silence as Heyman stared at him. Reigns extended his hand and Paul cautiously handed him the microphone.

Roman asked Paul if he was holding the title for him, or for Brock? Reigns noted that Paul just threw the title in the ring in between him and Brock last night. The Tribal Chief held his hand out again and Heyman handed it to him. Paul held his hands as if he was praying for mercy and Reigns told Heyman that he isn’t great at his job.

Reigns added that he’s great at his job and is the best of the best. Roman claimed that he has carried WWE on his back for over a year and a half now. Reigns referred to himself as the greatest Universal Champion off all time. Roman boasted about defeating Edge, Daniel Bryan, Cesaro, Finn Balor, John Cena, and finally Brock Lesnar at Crown Jewel.

Reigns demanded that Heyman read what Brock Lesnar said earlier, “the moment I arrive at SmackDown, I will beat Roman Reigns senseless”. The crowd popped as Roman laughed and slapped the phone out of Heyman’s hand. Roman joked that he whooped Lesnar so bad that he’s tweeting now.

Roman said he isn’t going anywhere and asked the crowd if they wanted to see Brock Lesnar. Reigns asked Wichita if they want to see him whoop Lesnar’s ass and they cheered. Reigns asked them to acknowledge their Tribal Chief and the crowd booed. Roman stood in the ring and stared at the entrance ramp. Heyman brought the microphone to him and Roman joked that Lesnar must be scared of him. The Universal Champion stated that he is not leaving this ring until Brock Lesnar comes out here as SmackDown went to a commercial break.

When SmackDown returned, Brock still hadn’t shown up and Roman held up the microphone as the crowd chanted “we want Lesnar!”. Reigns claimed that Brock was scared of him and told the crowd that it was time to part ways. Brock Lesnar’s theme hit and The Beast made his way down the entrance ramp.

Lesnar got in the ring and Reigns tried to hit him with the title. Brock ducked and leveled the champion with a shoulder tackle. Brock Clotheslined Reigns out of the ring and launched him into the steel steps. Lesnar started walking towards Heyman but stopped and grabbed the steps. Brock bashed Roman in the the face and threw the steps with ease into the ring.

Brock cleared off the announce table and slowly walked towards the champion as he struggled to get up. The Usos attacked Lesnar from behind but Brock beat the hell out of them. Lesnar threw Jimmy and Jey into the timekeeper’s area and bashed Reigns into the ring post. A camera mad was oddly close to Brock and Lesnar shoved him over. Brock grabbed the camera and tried to hit Reigns but he ducked. Lesnar started launching WWE officials around and Adam Pearce ordered the locker room to stop it. Brock launched some superstars to the floor as The Bloodline and Heyman retreated up the entrance ramp. Lesnar stood in the ring with the Universal Championship and raised it to a pop from the crowd.

When SmackDown returned, Adam Pearce said Lesnar’s actions were completely irresponsible. Pearce claimed that Lesnar endangered the WWE Universe and suspended Brock Lesnar. Brock started walking down the entrance ramp and got into the ring. Lesnar grabbed Pearce by the throat and asked him to repeat himself. Peace said Brock is indefinitely suspended and Brock shoved him to the corner. Brock then planted Adam Pearce with the F5 and then hit him with one more. Lesnar demanded that Pearce tell him again before leaving him laying in the ring.

Drew McIntyre def. Sami Zayn

Naomi challenged Sonya Deville to another match tonight but Sonya shut her down. McIntyre showed up and said it his first night at SmackDown and it is already chaos. Drew made his way to the ring and issued an Open Challenge for any SmackDown superstar. McIntyre asked the crowd if they are ready for a match finally and they cheered.

Sami Zayn made his way to the entrance ramp with new theme music. Sami said he is used to being forgotten about around here and noted that he is the longest tenured member of SmackDown. Zayn referred to himself as the gatekeeper of SmackDown and referred to Drew as a “newbie”. Sami shouted that he is the best superstar on SmackDown and accepted the challenge.

The bell rang and Sami immediately rolled out of the ring. McIntyre chased him around for a bit before launching him into the barricade as SmackDown went to a break. When SmackDown returned, Drew sent Sami across the ring with an overhead throw and followed it up with a few Clotheslines.

McIntyre connected with a Neckbreaker and geared up in the corner. Drew went for the Claymore but Sami rolled to the outside. McIntyre grabbed him by the hair but Sami slammed him over the top rope. Drew charged but missed and crashed into the ring post. Sami then launched McIntyre shoulder first into the ring post and set up for the Helluva Kick. Zayn mocked McIntyre’s countdown and ran into a Claymore from McIntyre for the pinfall victory.

King Xavier Addressed His Kingdom

Kofi Kingston welcomed Xavier Woods down to the ring for the King of the Ring coronation. Woods defeated Finn Balor in the finals of the tournament last night at WWE Crown Jewel. Kingston put a cloak on Woods for “the protection he will provide his king down”. Kofi gave Woods a scepter and put the crown upon his head. King Xavier thanked the WWE Universe for turning his dream into a reality. Kofi read “the King’s Gospel” and asked the crowd to hail King Woods.

Mansoor def. Mustafa Ali Again

Mansoor faced Mustafa Ali in a rematch from last night at Crown Jewel. Ali went after Mansoor but he got out of the way and beat Ali down int he corner. Mansoor connected with a Back Body Drop and followed it up with a Clothesline that sent Ali to the outside.

Back in the ring, Mansoor hit another Back Body Drop that sent Mustafa flying out of the ring again. Mansoor rolled him into the ring and hit a Crossbody off the top rope for a near fall. Ali battled back with a Powerbomb for a near fall and kicked Mansoor in the back of the head.

Ali went for a Neckbreaker but Mansoor countered into a Northern Lights Suplex. Ali hit a chop to the throat but Mansoor responded with a big Clothesline. Mustafa went for a roll-up but Mansoor countered for the win.

Hit Row Debuted

Hit Row (Isaiah “Swerve” Scott Ashante “Thee” Adonis, Top Dolla, B-Fab) cut a promo tonight on SmackDown. They introduced themselves quickly and then defeated enhancement talent in a squash match.

Happy Corbin Pinned The Intercontinental Champion

Happy Corbin faced Intercontinental Champion Shinsuke Nakamura in a non-title match tonight. Corbin controlled the action early but Nakamura battled back with a Dropkick. Corbin applied a Chinlock but Nakamura broke free and hit an Enziguri. Madcap Moss took out Boogs ringside and Nakamura got distracted by it. Corbin capitalized and launched Shinsuke into the steel steps. Corbin then connected with the End of Days for the pinfall victory.

Sasha Banks Confronted Charlotte

SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch and RAW Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair were set to exchange titles tonight as they were drafted to different brands. Earlier on the show, Becky Lynch suggested that she had a change of heart and wanted to become Becky 2 Belts once again.

Sonya Deville came to the ring with both of them and demanded that they exchange the titles. Charlotte suggested a winner takes all match tonight and Sasha Banks interrupted. Banks said that The Blueprint runs the blue brand and Charlotte is not going to come out here and take over. Banks called Charlotte a bitch and added that she is out of her mind. Lynch exited with the RAW Women’s Championship and said that she will see one of them at Survivor Series.

Charlotte mocked Sasha’s pose and the two continued to trade words as Becky left the ring. Banks and Charlotte traded punches in the middle of the ring and Charlotte went for a big boot. Sasha went for a Backstabber but Charlotte was able to block it. Charlotte got out of the ring but Banks caught her with a Meteora off the ring apron. Sonya Deville separated them as SmackDown went off the air.

Bronson Reed Has Interest From NJPW & Impact (Report)

0

Former WWE NXT Star Bronson Reed is still on the free agent market, but he is gaining some interest from two promotions – New Japan Pro Wrestling and Impact Wrestling.

NJPW has reportedly made a big play for Reed (via Fightful), who is going by his previous moniker of Jonah Rock. Impact is also interested in signing him, but those in the promotion were said to not be confident that he would be making his debut this weekend.

Impact holds its Bound for Glory pay-per-view event on Saturday night and then TV tapings on Sunday and Monday.

Reed was let go by WWE earlier this year after his reign ended as North American Champion. He had a 30-day non-compete clause due to him being under an NXT contract so he’s been free and clear to sign with anyone since early last month.

Before Reed had been released due to budget cuts, the company had him work several dark matches at a time where they were trying out various NXT stars such as Karrion Kross, Shotzi Blackheart, and Teagan Nox before calling them up to the main roster.

Last week it was revealed that former WWE star Buddy Murphy would be joining the promotion to work on their United States brand.

Renee Paquette Hasn’t Talked With AEW, But She’s Open To It

0

While Renee Paquette is open to joining the AEW roster one day, she doesn’t have any immediate plans for it. According to her, she hasn’t talked to president Tony Khan about the possibility.

The former WWE star recently spoke to Ariel Helwani. She discussed things such as her decision to leave WWE, how she feels watching Jon Moxley in the ring, and more.

She was then asked the question everyone has in mind about a potential AEW signing, now that her WWE non-compete is up. Paquette was asked if she has had any talks with Khan, to which she replied negatively:

“No, I’ve never talked to Tony Khan about it, ever. It’s never come up, I’m sure there could be a million different things that I could do there. I’m certainly open to the opportunity.”

Paquette discussed how a lot of her friends are in AEW. She said that maybe one day the other shoe will drop and she will join the company. Though she isn’t sure when that might happen.

Sh also recently revealed her thoughts on The Undertaker’s appearance in Saudi Arabia earlier in the week. She explained why she wasn’t a fan of the dead man breaking his character to introduce Pitbull during a concert.

Andrade El Idolo Reveals Length Of AEW Contract

0

Andrade El Idolo has revealed how long his current AEW contract runs and when he might become available for signing as a free agent.

The former NXT champion recently spoke to Milenio. He discussed things such as carrying the legacy of his father, how he started wrestling at the age of 13 and more.

When asked for his short-term goal in AEW, Andrade revealed that he has signed a three-year deal with the promotion. He explained that he is looking at the world title because he didn’t get the opportunity in WWE:

“Now I have a three-year contract with the AEW, I’ve only been half a year, I am looking for the most important championships with them since in WWE they did not give me that opportunity and in this new company I want those opportunities.”

Andrade El Idolo made his AEW debut in June this year, aligning himself with Vickie Guerrero. A three-year deal means he will stay with AEW at least until mid-2024.

Apart from this, the AEW star also talked about things such as having Charlotte Flair as his partner, the difference in wrestling styles of Mexico and America, and more.
