Tommy Dreamer Explains Why A 5 Star Match ‘Does Not Exist’ In His World

0

Tommy Dreamer believes a 5-star rating should not exist in wrestling because entertainment is subjective and different people can like different things.

The 5-star rating system made famous by wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer has always been a controversial topic. On one hand, it provides a spotlight to young talents trying to make a name, but on the other side legends like Kurt Angle never earning a top rating makes people question the integrity of the whole thing.

The ratings system was the talk of the latest episode of Busted Open Radio. Discussing the topic, Tommy Dreamer explained that a 5-star rating does not exist in his world because the quality of a match is a subjective opinion:

“A five-star match to me is nonexistent. It doesn’t exist in my world and nor should it ever. I’ve never had a five-star match according to one person. But I will tell you this, you go by the crowd, right? Dave, I’ve been to a lot of wrestling shows as a fan.

I’ve watched so many wrestling shows. I would say Hulk Hogan had a five-star match every night. Once that leg hit, everybody went nuts. When he was a babyface and your WWE champion. Hulk Hogan had a five-star match every night because everybody went home excited.”

Beauty Is In Eye Of The Beholder: Tommy Dreamer

Tommy Dreamer noted that Dave has always been respectful to him and he values Meltzer’s opinion as a historian. However, Dreamer explained that different people can like different things and a 5-star match is one that leaves fans satisfied:

“Again, I have nothing against Dave Meltzer. I do have everything against this, well, it’s a five-star match. Dave, I do a lot of Indies. I have seen matches that I watched and I’m like, ‘Oh my god, how are people reacting to this? And then at the end of the match, people are cheering for these two unknown guys to me that aren’t very very good, but yet the fans liked it. So then it was a five-star match.

Because, like you said, Dave, I’m not a fan of gore in movies or taking it from Rhyno. However, people love gore. Jerry Lynn listens to like that death metal, and I’m like, that doesn’t appeal to me. But it appeals, and then if you ever see go to those concerts, there’s people that, hey, they sell out freaking massive stadiums. I’m not a fan of soccer. Yet, there’s people who love soccer. It’s all like you said, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I have never seen Ray Mysterio have a bad match, and I’ve watched Ray Mysterio since his United States debut. Ray Mysterio has had a five-star match every single time he went out because I’ve never seen him have a bad match. Can you dissect it? Can you do this? Yes, but at the end of the day, if you paid your ticket and the fans are happy for what they saw, that’s a five-star night.”

Jordynne Grace Aims On Making History After NXT Vengeance Day

0

Jordynne Grace has arrived in WWE NXT and now the former TNA Knockouts World Champion has his sights set on a historic first. On Instagram, Grace declared that she will be the first wrestler in history to hold NXT and TNA Women’s gold.

Grace has already made waves in her efforts to capture a title in NXT. While still holding the TNA Knockouts World Championship, Grace challenged Roxanne Perez for the NXT Women’s Title at Battleground 2024 but was unsuccessful. At the recent NXT Vengeance Day, Grace confronted NXT Women’s Champion Giulia and new NXT Women’s North American Champion Stephanie Vaquer, signalling her desire to hold gold. The show marked Grace’s first appearance for NXT as a WWE Superstar.

While Grace plans to be the first woman to hold TNA and NXT gold, she does have competition. Cora Jade has declared her interest in the TNA Knockouts Title. If succesful, Jade, a former NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion, would be the history-maker, instead of Grace.

Grace was a leading woman in TNA Wrestling and plans to re-establish herself at the top of the card now as part of WWE NXT. Whether it is Giulia or Vaquer that the Juggernaut targets first, it may be just a matter of time before Jordynne Grace holds gold in NXT and makes history along the way.

Nation Of Domination Reunite At ‘For The Love Of Wrestling’ UK Convention

0

The Nation of Domination were a force to be reckoned with during the Attitude Era and reunited this past weekend in Manchester, England. The quartet of D’Lo Brown, Mark Henry, The Godfather, and Ron Simmons were all guests at For The Love of Wrestling. On X, the convention’s organizers shared a clip of the group’s entrance.

The group didn’t just make a star-studded entrance, but also fielded questions from fans during a Q&A event. Fans were also able to get autographs and photos from the faction’s individual members, as well as as a group photo alongside the four legendary wrestlers.

As their name suggests, the Nation of Domination dominated during the late 90s, with multiple titles to their name. These include D’Lo holding the European Championship on two occasions while The Rock (who would replace Simmons as the faction’s leader in 1998) would hold the Intercontinental Championship.

The Nation were just some of the legends at For the Love of Wrestling, the largest wrestling fan convention in Europe. Attitude Era fans were also given the chance to meet legends including Sting, Mick Foley, and Lex Luger. For fans of more modern-day talents, Tyler Breeze, JDC (fka Fandango), Ash By Elegance (fka Dana Brooke), Heath Slater, and Raj Dhesi were on hand to sign autographs, take photos, and answer questions.

Buddy Matthews Honors Wife Rhea Ripley with Emotional Tributes During AEW Australia Championship Match

0

In a touching display of love and respect at AEW Grand Slam: Australia, Buddy Matthews honored his wife, WWE Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley, throughout his Continental Championship match against Kazuchika Okada in Brisbane.

Matthews, performing in front of his hometown crowd at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre, incorporated several elements of Ripley’s signature style and moves into his performance.

He emerged wearing an Australian-themed jacket reminiscent of Ripley’s iconic Elimination Chamber attire, and during the match, executed her trademark moves including the Inverted Cloverleaf submission and her distinctive stomp.

While Ripley maintained a low profile backstage to ensure the spotlight remained on the event, her presence was felt throughout Matthews’ performance, including his use of the Prism Trap.

The hometown audience embraced the tribute, with one creative fan even displaying a sign reading “The Talented Mr. Ripley.”

Despite the emotional atmosphere and strong hometown support, Matthews’ championship pursuit fell short, with Okada retaining the AEW Continental Championship in controversial fashion. The match nonetheless showcased the unique dynamic of wrestling’s power couple, demonstrating how their relationship transcends promotional boundaries.

AEW Ring Size Controversy Explained

0

A controversy has emerged regarding the ring used at AEW Grand Slam: Australia. While a social media claim suggested that AEW had forgotten to ship their ring to Brisbane due to freight timing miscalculations, this has been definitively proven false.

The Facts

The ring used at the Australian event was an 18′ x 18′ ring, smaller than AEW’s standard 20′ x 20′ ring used in the United States. It was rented from local promotion PWA as part of a business arrangement made months in advance.

Ring Size Context

The 18′ x 18′ size is actually an industry standard, used by numerous prominent wrestling promotions including TNA, ROH, and most independent companies. WCW and WCW also used 18-foot rings until they shuttered in 2001.

Important Clarifications

AEW has not shipped their rings overseas as a standard practice. This approach is similar to WWE, which maintains rings in overseas locations rather than shipping them for international events.

The ring aprons and other elements were properly scaled for the 18′ x 18′ dimensions, contrary to claims suggesting otherwise. Additionally, most AEW wrestlers are already experienced with performing in rings of this size.

Several AEW personalities have commented on the controversy, including qt Marshall, Will Ospreay and Buddy Matthews.

AJ Styles Defends Road Dogg’s WWE SmackDown Promotion, Reveals Past Creative Struggles

0

AJ Styles is defending “Road Dogg” Brian James, who has been promoted to co-head writer of WWE SmackDown alongside John Swikata.

Road Dogg served as a WWE producer from 2014-2022, including a brief stint as SmackDown lead writer. After departing the company, he was later rehired under Triple H’s leadership regime as Senior Vice President of Live Events.

While Road Dogg’s previous tenure as SmackDown head writer in 2022 may not have been particularly memorable, Styles suggests there’s more to the story. According to the former WWE, TNA, and IWGP Champion, Road Dogg’s creative vision was heavily compromised by his superior’s excessive editing.

“Before judging this guy from his past performance as head writer, just know that there was a man who picked it apart to the point that it was no longer his ideas anymore,” Styles wrote.

Chelsea Green Issues ‘Executive Order’ Banning Wedgies After Regretful SmackDown Incident

0

Following the February 14, 2025 episode of SmackDown in Washington DC, WWE Women’s United States Champion Chelsea Green issued an official-looking decree banning a specific wrestling maneuver after an incident with rival “Nasty” Naomi.

In a document styled on presidential letterhead, complete with an official-looking seal, Green declared that following an “emergency vote” with her “cabinet” (likely referring to her on-screen associate Piper Niven), the use of wedgies during professional wrestling matches would be banned under “Code 4292 of the penal agreement” by a vote of 99-1.

img 8243 1

The proclamation, dated February 15, 2025, maintains Green’s ongoing character work as a self-important champion who presents herself with presidential gravitas. The document threatens “permanent banishment” for anyone using the banned move in “my ring.”

It concludes with Green assuring her “loyal followers of our beloved nation” that they may continue pledging allegiance to her “with the utmost confidence.”

Meet Hulk Hogan at WrestleMania (For Just a Few Month’s Rent)

0

WWE has unveiled the ultimate Hulk Hogan-themed Hulkamania experience for WrestleMania 41, and it’ll only cost you what some people pay in rent for half a year.

The “REAL AMERICAN EXPERIENCE” package, announced Thursday via email blast to WWE subscribers, offers die-hard Hulkamaniacs the opportunity to bask in the 24-inch pythons’ glory from the comfort of a luxury suite.

For the modest sum of $9,500 (before taxes), fans can secure this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to say their prayers and eat their vitamins in style.

The experience includes a 2-day WrestleMania luxury suite ticket, which means you’ll be watching the Showcase of the Immortals the way nature intended – far removed from the unwashed masses in the general admission seats.

But wait, there’s more! The package includes all-inclusive food and beverage service, featuring Hulk Hogan’s Own Real American Beer, because nothing says “American Dream” quite like a $9,500 price tag on a meet-and-greet.

The crown jewel of this modestly priced package is, of course, a suite visit from the Hulkster himself. For roughly the price of a used car, you can share the same air as the immortal Hulk Hogan for what we can only assume will be several memorable minutes.

The package also includes access to WWE World and the Superstore. WWE is clearly betting that some fans will find this package irresistible, as evidenced by their “Be There Brother” call-to-action button.

For those wrestling fans currently checking their couch cushions for spare thousands, WWE helpfully notes that upgrades are available – because apparently, $9,500 is just the starting point for this real American dream.

So whatcha gonna do, brother, when this Hulk Hogan experience and your financial advisor’s disapproval run wild on you?

Tiffany Stratton Blasts Logan Paul: “I’m Better Than You’ll Ever Be”

0

Tiffany Stratton isn’t here for Logan Paul’s comments. During her recent appearance on Grind City Wrestling, the WWE Women’s Champion fired back at the social media megastar after he claimed she was “trouble” and hinted that she was flirting with Ludwig Kaiser.

Stratton shut down the rumors, making it clear she has no interest in Paul’s comparisons or opinions.

“I think I heard him say that I was flirting with him. No, no, no, no, no—I was not flirting with him,” Stratton said.

“The man came up to me and told me he could teach me a little something because he sees himself in me, which is complete BS.”

Stratton went even further, confidently declaring that she is the superior talent.

“I feel like I’m much better than Logan Paul. He may have all his fancy camera crews and his fancy moves, but I definitely think that I am better. And I’m nothing like you, Logan Paul.”

Paul, the current WWE United States Champion, has made waves in WWE with his athleticism and showmanship, but Stratton’s comments could spark an unexpected rivalry between the two.

As both stars continue to rise in WWE, it remains to be seen if Paul will respond to the challenge. One thing is for sure—Tiffany Stratton isn’t backing down from anyone.

Booker T: John Cena Wasn’t The Best Wrestler, But Still Made It To The Top

0

John Cena’s farewell tour is underway, and WWE Hall of Famer Booker T is reflecting on the 16-time world champion’s legacy. In interview with TMZ Sports, Booker T praised Cena’s ability to maximize his career, despite not being the most technically gifted wrestler.

“The man who took what he had and made the best out of it and took it all the way to the top,” Booker said.

“Wasn’t the best wrestler in the world or anything like that… but John Cena, he knew how to go out and do it.”

As Cena prepares for his final run in WWE, speculation is growing over who his last opponent should be. While some fans are pushing for Cena to break Ric Flair’s record with a 17th world title win, Booker T believes the decision should be left to the audience.

“That’s going to be for the fans to actually decide who they want J to see, and hopefully he has enough gas left in the tank to actually get it,” he said.

WWE’s Surging Popularity

Cena’s farewell comes at a time when WWE is experiencing a surge in mainstream popularity. With a major Netflix deal and record-breaking events like the Royal Rumble, Booker T believes WWE is nearing its peak again.

“I don’t know if it’s as popular as it’s ever been, but it’s bigger than it’s ever been,” he said. “With this Netflix deal, it’s only going to get bigger and better.”

As WWE enters a new era, Cena’s influence remains undeniable. Whether or not he secures a 17th title, his legacy as one of the company’s biggest stars is firmly cemented.

Jordynne Grace Relocates to Orlando as She Officially Joins WWE NXT

0

Former TNA Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace has officially relocated to Orlando, Florida, signaling the start of her WWE NXT journey, according to Fightful Select.

Grace, who made a surprise appearance at the conclusion of NXT Vengeance Day 2025, is setting down roots near the WWE Performance Center as she establishes herself as a full-time competitor.

Grace’s impactful appearance at Vengeance Day saw her immediately targeting the division’s top talents, confronting both NXT Women’s Champion Giulia and North American Champion Stephanie Vaquer. Grace herself has announced she will appear on this Tuesday’s February 18 episode of NXT.

The move to Orlando demonstrates Grace’s full commitment to the WWE system, where she’ll train alongside the NXT roster at the Performance Center.

Questions now surround Grace’s next moves in NXT—whether she’ll immediately pursue championship gold or first work her way through the division’s top contenders.

Most new arrivals have to work their way through the system before jumping into a title picture, but Grace is one of the most accomplished stars to join “WWE developmental” ever.

With her permanent move to Orlando complete and Tuesday’s appearance looming, Grace appears poised to make her mark in WWE’s developmental brand.

Harley Cameron’s Emotional Homecoming: “This Is Only Just Getting Started”

0

AEW Grand Slam Australia was a night of raw emotion and fierce competition, and despite not securing the win, Harley Cameron made it clear—this is just the beginning.

“I think that was one of the best moments of my life, and it didn’t end up how I wanted, but it’s just the beginning,” Cameron said, reflecting on her long-awaited return.

The match, set in front of a home crowd, was a culmination of years of hard work and sacrifice.

“I left here so many years ago and had no idea what was going to happen… but to come home today and show that it all paid off—nothing’s going to change how this feels. It feels so good.”

Although she fell short of victory, Cameron’s passion remains stronger than ever, fueled in part by her rival, Mercedes.

“Oh Mercedes, you are amazing, and I meant it when I said you push me to be better,” she admitted. “I love wrestling so much. I love this industry. I love this company, and I just have a fire in me.”

That fire, Cameron promised, is only growing. “This is only just getting started, people. You are only just starting to feel the wrath. There is more to come.”

With such determination and intensity, the Australian wrestler is far from done—and fans can expect even bigger moments in her future.

WWE Legend Doubts Miro or Malakai Black Will Be Re-Signed: “Their Time Is Up”

0

Former WWE General Manager Teddy Long is skeptical about the possibility of WWE bringing back Miro (formerly Rusev) or Malakai Black following their rumored AEW releases.

Speaking on WrestleBinge, Long suggested that WWE has moved on from these talents and is unlikely to reach back for them.

“I think Rusev has had his day with WWE. I don’t think they’re going to take him back,” Long said.

He acknowledged that Miro was given opportunities during his WWE run but questioned what the company could do with him now.

“They gave him a push… I don’t know if it was his attitude or something else, but what are you going to do with him after all this? How are you going to repackage him?”

As for Malakai Black, Long believes WWE is more focused on building fresh talent rather than bringing back former stars.

“Bringing in somebody who was already in your company looks like you’re reaching back to pull some, and they’re not outstanding superstar talent,” he explained.

While he praised their in-ring ability, he didn’t see them as major draws WWE would be eager to re-sign.

Once They Go To AEW…

Long also took a shot at AEW’s use of former WWE wrestlers, suggesting that many of them are just collecting a paycheck rather than advancing their careers.

“Once they get to AEW, they’re working for a payday and that’s it… They’re not going to get being creative, that’s for sure.”

With WWE reportedly shifting its focus toward homegrown talent and younger stars, Long’s comments align with the company’s recent booking philosophy.

While surprises are always possible in pro wrestling, his skepticism raises doubts about Miro or Malakai Black finding their way back to WWE anytime soon.

‘Sleep Is My Enemy’: Wild Stories Of Vince McMahon’s Relentless Routine

0

Vince McMahon is a known workaholic and there are a lot of stories about how the retired wrestling promoter almost never went to sleep. Former WWE employee Teddy Long got to experience the boss’ relentless routine firsthand on multiple occasions while working in the company.

The former WWE Chairman was recently spotted at the Superbowl event alongside his son Shane McMahon and The Undertaker. A lot of people noted that McMahon looked to be in good shape physically despite his age.

Teddy Long talked about this Vince sighting in a new WrestleBinge video. Recalling his time as the SmackDown General Manager, the former WWE official discussed how Mr. McMahon went to gym at crazy times:

“Well, one thing about Vince, and I know this for a fact, he stays in the gym. Okay? I’ll tell you a story about Vince maybe you guys don’t even know. Sometimes at night after he would leave the TV, which means around midnight, 1 o’clock, he would fly his plane into the next town. And when they got into that town, it may have been 2 o’clock or 2:30 in the morning.

Vince got right out of that plane, got with his trainer [who] was already in the town and made arrangements to get the gym open. So when Vince landed, he got off that plane at 2:30 in the morning, got with his trainer, picked him up and they went straight to the gym. That’s where he went. The next morning, he would get up, he would go back to the hotel, he didn’t sleep. Next morning, he would get up, be the first one at TV.”

Sleep Is My Enemy

When asked if he ever saw Vince McMahon taking a nap backstage, Teddy Long replied negatively. He then discussed how the former WWE executive not only never seemed to rest himself but he hated seeing others sleep as well:

“I remember one time at WrestleMania, I know I left him at the Hall of Fame. He was the last one there. This was 2 o’clock in the morning, we got out of there like real late one time.

The next morning about 9 o’clock we had to be back and the first person I see is Vince. So I waited to see if he was in a good mood and everything. So he spoke to me that let me know he’s in a good mood and I asked him, I said, “Have you been to sleep?” And he said to me that sleep was his enemy. Michael Cole told me one time.

I was on Vince’s plane and Michael Cole sat right next to me and he told me ‘Do not go to sleep on this plane unless Vince goes to sleep.’ One time they went overseas and they went with Big Show. Big Show went to sleep after they took this water bed off the plane. They put it wherever they landed, they put it somewhere. Big Show got on the water bed and went to sleep. Well, Vince came by, seen him, stuck a hole in it, let all the water out.”

Dominik Mysterio Dummy Becomes A Literal Hit at NASCAR Daytona 500

0

Fans were able to take out their frustrations on a replica Dominik Mysterio at the recent Daytona 500. As part of the massive racing event, those in attendance were given the opportunity to hit the makeshift Dirty Dom with a steel chair. Not only that, but fans were able to create their own unique championship entrance with a makeshift stage of Monday Night Raw on Netflix.

The Dominik dummy certainly caught attention online from both fans familiar with his dastardly deeds and from non wrestling fans. One fan on X (formerly known as Twitter) called this a perfect example of sponsor activation and added that “I’m not into WWE and I think this is fantastic!” Another non fan added that “even I’d be in line for this” and would love to see the “chair goes through the mf.”

WWE’s role at the Daytona 500 continues to demonstrate the company’s mainstream appeal, an appeal that has only grown with the Netflix deal. With fans and non-fans alike ready to pummel Dominik Mysterio, the Judgment Day star may want to be careful out in public, especially if he’s at any future Nascar events.

Hasn’t Even Scratched The Surface: The Undertaker Names Young WWE Star He Loves Watching

0

The Undertaker has revealed which current WWE stars he likes to watch.

The Dead Man recently had an interview with Shak Wrestling to promote WWE LFG. During the interview, he talked about the stacked main event scene in the company currently and how there are a lot of guys reaching for that ‘brass ring.’

When asked if there is anyone in particular that stands out to him, The Undertaker once again named Gunther. He reiterated his comments about how there is no wasted movement with the Ring General. The WWE Hall of Famer explained that every move the world champion does means something and his character work is equally as impressive:

“He believes in who he is, and in turn, the audience believes that’s who it is. And I haven’t really seen him ever where he was that far different than what you see on TV, even backstage. Which you know me I appreciate that more so than anything. I like Gunther.”

I Love Watching Jacob: The Undertaker

The wrestling veteran also gave a nod to the 2025 Men’s Royal Rumble winner Jey Uso before discussing how Jacob Fatu has a bright future ahead:

“Obviously, Jey Uso’s ascent. Jacob [Fatu], he hasn’t even scratched the surface. Dude, I love watching Jacob. I mean, he’s got that thing. He’s got it. When he’s on TV you want to see what he’s doing. And so again, he’s another one of those that just scratched the surface to where he has the potential to go.”

The Undertaker later talked about John Cena’s retirement tour. He said that not everyone deserves such a tour and explained how Cena’s retirement will change wrestling farewells. You can check out his comments on the matter here.

Toni Storm Wins Fourth AEW Women’s Title At Grand Slam Australia

0

‘Timeless’ Toni Storm’s return to Australia proved to be a triumph as she regained the AEW Women’s World Championship at Grand Slam. In the show’s main event, Storm dethroned Mariah May, who had held the title since All In: London 2024, where she had defeated Storm.

Storm and May traded momentum and it would be a surprise roll-up that would give the Timeless One the win. With her victory, Storm has become the first-ever four-time Women’s World Champion. On X (fka Twitter) made note of Storm’s record-shattering achievement.

In the comments, fans quickly speculated that the finish, a small package, will set up a rematch between the two for the gold. While such a match has yet to be confirmed, fans can expect May to be hungry for another showdown with her former mentor.

May’s reign had seen her retain against the likes of Anna Jay, Thunder Rosa, Willow Nightingale, and her STARDOM ally Mina Shirakawa, among others. Now that Storm once again holds the gold, it remains to be seen what’s next for the Glamour and her former ‘mentor’ post-Grand Slam: Australia.

Mercedes Moné Retains At Grand Slam, Kicks Harley Cameron’s Puppet

0

Harley Cameron’s homecoming did not go as planned at AEW Grand Slam: Australia as she was unable to capture the TBS Championship. Arguably the biggest sentimental favorite going into Grand Slam, Cameron arrived to a hero’s welcome in the Brisbane Entertainment Centre.

The two women traded momentum, with Cameron’s puppet of the CEO also coming into play. Mercedes Moné would punt her miniature doopelganger into the second row, riling up the crowd, who were already firmly behind Harley, even further.

Despite Cameron’s best efforts, Moné won with her Mone Maker, earning her 14th consecutive TBS Championship defense. Though she didn’t linger in the ring with Cameron following her victory, the champ gloated in front of STARDOM’s Momo Watanabe, who was sitting ringside.

Cameron coming up short will come as a disappointment to many but only proves that The CEO is ready to dash the hopes of all challengers, even in their home country. It remains to be seen who will ultimately end Moné’s impressive title reign, and whether it could be Watanabe who takes the TBS gold.

New NXT Faction Channel The Shield In Vengeance Day Debut

0

WWE NXT Vengeance Day saw the arrival of a new faction, one that many fans compared to The Shield on social media. With the NXT Tag Team Titles on the line, Fraxiom retained against Josh Briggs and Yoshiki Inamura. After the match, the group, which has been teased for weeks on WWE NXT, struck.

This wouldn’t be the only appearance by the faction. After Oba Femi retained the NXT Championship against Grayson Waller and Austin Theory, he too was attacked by the group.

On social media, many compared this new faction to The Shield, the iconic trio of Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and Dean Ambrose (now Jon Moxley) fans pointed out the group’s use of all black attire, their skull masks, and their use of a multi-man powerbomb as nods to The Shield. In several posts on X, many branded the group ‘Shield 2.0’ while others saw the group as the next Retribution.

Questions remain about the group and their intentions, but at least one member has been confirmed. After Corey Graves made reference to Dion Lennox being part of the faction. Lennox shared a photo from the group, making his involvement crystal clear.

Whatever the group has planned, their impact at NXT Vengeance Day can’t be denied. Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest from this faction that is poised to shake things up on the silver brand.

Jordynne Grace Makes Surprise Appearance, Confronts Champions at NXT Vengeance Day

0

Jordynne Grace made a dramatic surprise appearance at WWE NXT Vengeance Day on February 15, 2025. She emerged at the conclusion of the event to confront NXT Women’s Champion Giulia and NXT Women’s North American Champion Stephanie Vaquer.

The confrontation took place following the main event, where Giulia successfully defended her NXT Women’s Championship in a fatal four-way match against Bayley, Roxanne Perez, and Cora Jade. Earlier in the night, Vaquer had captured the NXT Women’s North American Title from Fallon Henley in the opening contest.

As both champions were in the ring, Grace’s music played and she made her way to the ring. The show concluded with all three women facing off, setting up potential future matchups in NXT’s women’s division.

Ricky Starks’ Next WWE TV Appearance Announced

Former AEW star Ricky Starks made his WWE NXT debut during the second hour of this past Tuesday’s show. Now, he has confirmed that he will be appearing again this week.

In a video shared on Twitter, Starks announced that he would be signing his official NXT contract on the February 18th edition of NXT.

He added that if NXT is the highest brand, it requires the highest free agent, vowing to turn the place upside down.

Previously, Starks had requested his release from AEW, but CEO Tony Khan reportedly refused to grant it. It was widely believed that he would have to wait out the remainder of his contract before pursuing other opportunities. However, that situation recently changed when Starks was officially granted his release.

Charlotte Flair vs. Tiffany Stratton Has Been Planned For A While

0

WWE officially announced on this week’s episode of SmackDown that Charlotte Flair will challenge Tiffany Stratton for the WWE Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 41.

The match was set up after Stratton retained her title by disqualification against Nia Jax on SmackDown when Candice LeRae interfered. A brawl broke out involving Stratton, Jax, LeRae, and Hall of Famer Trish Stratus, who was ringside. Jax and LeRae ultimately left both Stratton and Stratus laid out.

As the Women’s Champion was down in the ring, Flair entered and declared that she had chosen Stratton as her opponent for WrestleMania 41.

According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, Flair’s Royal Rumble victory and her selection of Stratton as her opponent had been planned for some time. In fact, the plan for Charlotte vs. Tiffany Stratton has reportedly been in place since December.

Flair earned her title shot by winning the 2025 Royal Rumble. This is a major match for both competitors—Charlotte is a 14-time Women’s Champion and a seasoned WrestleMania veteran, while Tiffany Stratton is a rising star who won the title earlier this year.

WrestleMania 41 will be a two-night event, taking place on Saturday, April 19, and Sunday, April 20, 2025, at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Chad Gable Embraces Mentor Role: “When Did I Become the Old Guy?”

WWE RAW Superstar Chad Gable has embraced a new chapter in his career as a mentor to younger talent, particularly within his stable, American Made. In a recent appearance on The Jay Ferruggia Show, Gable reflected on his evolving role within WWE.

“When these younger guys come to me for advice, I know I need to give them my full attention,” Gable explained. “People did that for me when I was coming up, and now it’s my turn to pay it forward.”

The transition to mentor has brought unexpected growth in Gable’s own approach to teaching.

“What’s really special about these relationships is how they’ve changed me,” he noted. “When they come with questions, I find myself being more thoughtful and deliberate with my responses, moving beyond just giving the expected answers.”

The shift in his status became apparent to Gable over the past year and a half, as he found himself increasingly sought out for guidance.

“There was this moment when I realized more of the roster was coming to me for advice, and I thought, ‘Wait – when did I become the old guy?'”

While the realization caught him by surprise, Gable has found fulfillment in his role as a mentor. His experience exemplifies WWE’s tradition of veteran performers helping to develop the next generation of talent, continuing a cycle that has long been vital to the company’s success.
