Tommaso Ciampa Speaks

ciampa breakker

NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa came out to the ring for a promo. He asked who had the balls to take this title from him. Bron Breakker came out to speak as he has been very interested in the title.

Breakker said he doesn’t care about how long he’s been in NXT because he wants to be NXT Champion. He said that at Halloween Havoc, he wants an NXT Title match. He said that he needs this title and to Bron, it’s just a stepping stone to something bigger and better. To Ciampa, it’s exactly that and he accepts the challenge.

Opener

4NXT

Mandy Rose vs. Ember Moon opened up the show. The match saw Moon get the majority of the offense. Moon hit a powerbomb on the apron.

Rose beat her down for a few minutes until Moon made her comeback. Moon missed her finisher and Rose hit a running knee strike for the win.

Rose set her sights on the NXT Women’s Championship last week by attacking Raquel Gonzalez after the champion  had successfully retained the title over Franky Monet in the main event. Toxic Attraction (Rose, Gigi Dolin, and Jacy Jayne) beat down Monet, Jessi Kamea, and Robert Stone before going after Raquel.

Later in the show, Toxic Attraction interrupted Raquel’s in-ring promo and were about to attack her, but Io Shirai and Zoey Starks came out to even the odds only for the heels to back off.

LA Knight vs. Odyssey Jones

01

LA Knight vs. Odyssey Jones in a singles match was booked as the second match of the night.

Two weeks ago, Knight got mad at Jones for pointing out that he lost twice in the same night the previous week. Just last week, there was a backstage segment where Knight was interviewed about challenging Jones to a match. Knight later attacked Jones in that same segment.

The match saw Jones dominate the majority of it until Andre Chase came out and distracted Jones and Knight hit his finisher for the win.

Cora Jade In Action

Cora Jade was in action against Franky Monet. Monet took out Jade’s original opponent before the match took place and went quick to work in beating down Jade.

The tide turned when Monet missed a splash in the corner and Jade hit a few moves. Monet hit a spear and went for her finisher, but Jade reversed it and rolled her up for the win.

A romantic relationship between Jade and Trey Baxter has recently been presented on TV.

Tony D’Angelo’s In-Ring Debut

tony

Tony D’Angelo made his official in-ring debut against Malik Blade. Tony dominated the majority of the match, but Blade did make a quick comeback with a head kick and crossbody off the top rope for a near fall.

Tony wore a white tank top and blue pants. He tossed Blade in the corner then hit a belly-to-belly suplex before finishing him off with a swinging neckbreaker.

WWE has been airing vignettes hyping D’Angelo’s arrival over the past few weeks. D’Angelo’s real name is Joe Ariola and he portrays an Italian character from Chicago whose family has ties to the mafia. He was an amateur wrestler for the University of Buffalo.

Fatal 4-Way Match

3nxt

NXT Tag Team Champions MSK vs. The Grizzled Young Veterans vs. Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams vs. Josh Briggs and Brooks Jensen in a Fatal 4 Way Title match took place.

Just last week, MSK were interviewed in the ring and during their promo, they said that any team can step up to them and get knocked back. The rest of the teams involved in this match came out for a brawl that ended with MSK standing tall in the ring.

The match was turned into an elimination match. Hayes and Williams were first eliminated. Grizzled Young Veterans were sent packing by Briggs and Jensen after they hit a double team powerbomb. Lee rolled up Briggs for the win. A fun yet match in about 12 minutes.

Parker Boudreaux Debuts In NXT As Harland With a New Look

0

An NXT star has arrived and he is sporting a new look.

During the Oct. 5 edition of NXT 2.0, Parker Boudreaux made an appearance. The former UCF offensive lineman traded in the football pads for the wrestling ring. He was one of many talents who was recently brought on board the Performance Center.

Boudreaux now goes by the name “Harland” and he has said goodbye to his hair.

Harland made his debut after Joe Gacy defeated Ikeman Jiro. Gacy glanced at the debuting star and appeared to approve. Harland didn’t exactly look all too thrilled when staring down Gacy, however.

Time will tell if there will be any long-term connection between Harland and Gacy or if the new NXT talent will be keeping his eye on everyone in the coming weeks.

WWE Files New Trademark For Riddick Moss

0

A new trademark has been filed by WWE for Riddick Moss.

Moss has undergone a gimmick change. He’s aligned himself with Happy Corbin on the SmackDown brand. He now goes by the name of Madcap Moss.

Naturally, WWE sought to protect the name by filing the following trademark.

“Mark For: MADCAP MOSS trademark registration is intended to cover the categories of entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered live and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment via an online community portal; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information; fan club services, namely, organizing sporting events in the field of wrestling for wrestling fan club members; organizing social entertainment events for entertainment purposes for wrestling fan club members; providing online newsletters in the fields of sports entertainment; online journals, namely blogs, in the field of sports entertainment.”

Baron Corbin became Happy Corbin after turning his misfortune around. After Shinsuke Nakamura took his crown, Corbin ended up losing his money. Following weeks of bad luck, Corbin hit it big in Las Vegas by having success at the casino.

In the midst of his feud with Kevin Owens, Corbin enlisted the help of Riddick Moss. Moss had been out of action due to a torn ACL. He was previously seen on the Raw brand where he was a former 24/7 Champion.

Quote: Vince McMahon Is Concerned About AEW

0

One former WWE on-air talent believes that Vince McMahon does have some concerns over the success of AEW.

AEW emerged in 2019. The promotion held its first TV show on TNT back in October of that year. The debut episode of Dynamite pulled in 1.409 million viewers, blowing away expectations. As of late, the show has been garnering over 1 million viewers each week.

While Monday Night Raw and Friday Night SmackDown pull in higher numbers than AEW’s shows, the fact that the promotion has had this much success in just two years can’t be ignored.

During an edition of Monday Mailbag, former WWE referee Mike Chioda gave his take on whether or not the Chairman of WWE is concerned over AEW’s emergence.

“As someone who knows Vince personally, do you think he’s truly concerned about AEW now?

“Yes, I think he is. He always wants to be on top. I have seen him demolish and step on a lot of territories around the country and around the world. He wants to be #1. Everybody wants to be #1 whether it’s in their sport, in their career, or owning a company. I definitely think he’s very concerned right now because they’re picking up some good talent. I know Vince. Vince is concerned.”

We recently saw AEW Dynamite top WWE Raw in the key demo two straight weeks. WWE was able to stop the streak from going to three, but it’s been said that many within the company are taking notice. It doesn’t help that Raw also has to contend with Monday Night Football games.

Do you think Vince McMahon has any legit concerns over AEW?

Scorpio Sky Believes Jorge Masvidal can Succeed in Pro Wrestling

0

All Elite Wrestling talent Scorpio Sky thinks MMA fighter Jorge Masvidal has a future in pro wrestling.

The Miami Herald Jim Varsallone spoke with Sky about working alongside Dan Lambert and American Top Team fighters. Sky shared that Masvidal could do it when asked about whom he thinks could make the transition to pro wrestling.

“Jorge Masvidal, he is a pro wrestler. He can do it. He gets it. I kind of talk to him a little bit; even in the fight game is a fan favorite,” said Sky. He continues, He got a little bit of character, he got a lot of swag, and he kicks ass. So that’s what you want.”

He also adds that Paige Van Zant and Junior Dos Santos could have a bright future in pro wrestling.

ATT Fighters Transitioning to Pro Wrestling

Fighters from ATT have been making appearances on AEW alongside ATT Founder Dan Lambert. He made his AEW debut with Jorge Masvidal and UFC Bantamweight Champion Amanda Nunes on the July 7th episode of AEW Dynamite. Lambert did a promo criticizing AEW fans, and Lance Archer attacked Lance Archer during the episode. Since then, Lambert and ATT fighters like Masvidal joined sides with Sky and Ethan Page’s tag team called Men of the Year.

The Men of the Year and Dan Lambert are currently feuding with Chris Jericho and Jake Hager. The group defeated Jericho and Hager at AEW Rampage Grand Slam on September 25th. The match ended after Sky rolled up Hager for the pin. After the match, ATT fighters, including Masvidal, Dos Santos, and Van Zant, also attacked the losing team.

AEW Reportedly Happy with ATT

ATT fighters and Lambert are reportedly well-liked behind the scenes in AEW. While Sky praised Masvidal and Van Zant, Dos Santos seems to be the stand-out fighter. “…Someone else that might surprise you is Junior Dos Santos. I think he is a wrestling fan and didn’t even know it. He’s been having a lot of fun with us,” said Sky. He also jokingly warned AEW World Champion Kenny Omega that Dos Santos would fight for the title one day.

It’s unclear if Masvidal or other ATT fighters will compete in AEW. However, it seems they have another career in pro wrestling ready for them.

Big E Explains Why Infamous Phrase Won’t Be Used By WWE

0

Big E has been killing it when it comes to WWE merchandising but don’t expect one phrase to make it to WWE Shop.

E is the reigning WWE Champion. He is known for his outgoing personality, which has led to some rather interesting moments. One of them being when he dropped the “Big Meaty Men Slapping Meat” line during an episode of New Day: Feel The Power.

If you’re expecting WWE to capitalize on the phrase, think again. Speaking to Comicbook.com, Big E said that the WWE legal team isn’t likely to give it clearance.

“We need to. We need to. I tried to, but legal would not clear it. So, we’re working on something else but, sometimes, you just got to push those through those barriers, so we’ll see. I hope so.”

Of course, never say never in the wrestling industry. After all, WWE has been going for an edgier product as of late. Much like on AEW TV, WWE has been letting loose with the “S” word as of late. Whether or not “Big Meaty Men Slapping Meat” is next on the docket at WWE headquarters remains to be seen.

One thing is for certain, the meme isn’t likely to go away anytime soon.

Big E continues to handle business as the WWE Champion. He is scheduled to put his gold on the line against Drew McIntyre at WWE Crown Jewel on Oct. 21.

CM Punk Is Impressed But Not Surprised With John Cena’s Acting Skills

0

John Cena has found success in Hollywood after stepping down from his role as the face of WWE. Though his arch-rival CM Punk is not very surprised by it. The AEW star recently had an interview with Shakiel Mahjouri of ET Canada. He talked about the various WWE stars who have gone on to find success in the movie biz.

When asked if he is impressed with Cena’s acting skills, Punk admitted that he is impressed but not surprised. He explained that his skills were developed while working on WWE TV which according to the straight edge star, is similar to theatre:

“100 percent, but I’m also not surprised, I think a lot of people conflate the two. Cena has always been that funny guy. I always thought behind the scenes, and I think anybody who has worked with him always thought. A lot of the guys at that top-level in WWE may not want to admit it, but alls we are theatre actors. We’re doing live theatre every Monday, every Friday, Thursday, Tuesday, whatever the hell the schedule is now.”

CM Punk Is Not Surprised With John Cena’s Success

John Cena CM Punk 2011
Their 2011 feud was an instant classic

The former world champion said working on WWE programming gets you accustomed to improv and working on the fly. He then mentioned how Suicide Squad director James Gunn praised John Cena saying that the Cenation leader is the best improv actor he has ever worked with. CM Punk explained that this doesn’t surprise him at all:

“I read James Gunn said that John Cena was the best improv actor he’s ever worked with. That does not surprise me in the least. We do it every week for decades. When we transition to film, I think people are pleasantly surprised like, ‘Oh wow, I thought you were just going to be this muscled up stiff guy.’ I’m not surprised that John is killing it.”

CM Punk had a number of high-profile feuds with John Cena during his time in WWE. Many believe it was their 2011 feud, consisting of moments such as the infamous pipebomb promo that helped establish Punk as a main event caliber talent in the company. The former WWE star recently revealed the backstage reaction to that promo and you can check it out here.

Lana Got A Call From Vince McMahon After Dying Her Hair Blue

0

WWE is very careful about how they present their stars. The officials do not like even the slightest appearance changes made by their talents on their own, and Lana found this out the hard way.

The former WWE star recently took part in a virtual signing with East Coast Autograph Auctions . She recalled how she once changed the color of her hair to blue.

Lana Boue Hair

However, according to Lana, the WWE officials were not very happy with this change. Not only was she confronted by Michael Hayes about it but the female star even got a call from Vince McMahon himself.

“So, I did my hair blue and Michael Hayes walks up to me and is like, ‘What are you doing?’ ‘I don’t know, it matches my costume.’ He’s like, ‘No, no, no. no.’ I showed up with blonde hair the next day and he’s like, ‘Ah, you look great.’ So, there you go,”

Vince’s Reaction to Lana’s Blue Hair

Lana added, “I also got a call from Vince McMahon about the blue hair. I’ll have to be blonde forever.”

Lana isn’t the only one who got in trouble for changing her hair. Her husband Miro (Rusev) has stated that WWE fined and punished him for cutting up his long hair during his early run with the promotion.

Lana was one of the many stars released by WWE earlier this year on June 2. Even though her non-compete clause has already expired, the wrestling star has not confirmed any future plans for her just yet.

Drew McIntyre Shares Thoughts on Returning to Smackdown

0

WWE superstar Drew McIntyre expressed his enthusiasm for joining Friday Night Smackdown ahead of the WWE Draft.

McIntyre spoke to DAZN’s Steven Muelhausen before the WWE Draft on October 1st. In the interview, McIntyre didn’t know which WWE brand he would be on. However, he shared that he feels he still had something to prove on the Smackdown brand.

Muhlhausen transcribed the following quotes. He asked McIntyre what brand he preferred joining. McIntyre responded by saying, “I’ve thought about this a lot this past week. When I returned to WWE, I returned to NXT initially but then Monday Night Raw, and over the past three years, Raw has been my home.”

He continued, “Finally achieved my dreams, my goals when I became WWE Champion. I became the face of the brand. I have achieved so much, and Raw feels like home, so I can’t imagine not being part of Raw. At the same time, sometimes it’s cool to get a fresh coat of paint to get a change of scenery. I debuted on SmackDown in 2007 and re-debuted in 2009 with the “Chosen One” stuff. I have some unfinished business, so realistically I’ll be happy wherever.”

Drew McIntyre Drafted to Smackdown

WWE drafted McIntyre to Smackdown on Night one of the WWE Draft. WWE seemed to have had McIntyre planned for the Smackdown move for some time. The company advertised that he’d wrestle WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns on the October 1st Smackdown.

McIntyre makes his return exclusively to Smackdown for the first time since his return to WWE. The company released him in 2014. He returned to WWE in 2017 and has only competed on NXT and Raw since.

When asked if he felt going to Smackdown would make the WWE come back full circle, he agreed. “I really do think that’d be the case. I’m very proud of everything I was able to do on Raw especially being champion at the height of the pandemic and leading the charge but at the same time working hard for everyone else to make sure everybody was entertained during those difficult times and be a leader, said McIntyre. He continued, “But if I did end up on Smackdown for me personally, there is unfinished business, so that could be very interesting. I’m torn right now.”

Did WWE Spoil WWE Championship Match

The draft moves will not go into effect until after WWE Crown Jewel on October 21st. He challenged WWE Champion Big E for the title at the October 21st event on yesterday’s episode of Monday Night Raw. While anything can happen, WWE may have spoiled the match results with McIntyre’s move to Smackdown. However, a win over Big E would mean that the WWE Championship would go the blue brand.

New Report Disputes Claim That AEW EVPs Have Lost Power

0

Depending on who you believe, the EVPs of AEW haven’t lost their power after all.

The situation with Kenny Omega, The Young Bucks, and Cody Rhodes has been an interesting one, to say the least. We’ve seen reports over the past year claiming that the relationship between Cody and The Elite has soured. It’s been said that while Omega and The Bucks are still chummy, they no longer communicate with Cody.

Cassidy Haynes of Bodyslam.net recently reported that Omega, The Young Bucks, and Cody are now essentially only EVPs by name. Haynes went as far as to say that he’s been told the roles of the EVPs have been “greatly diminished.”

Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio has contested that report. Meltzer says that the roles of Omega, Nick and Matt Jackson, and Cody have gone unchanged since Dec. 2019. While Khan has played more of a hand with the booking, the EVPs haven’t lost any creative say according to the report.

It’s been said that Tony Khan is rather hands-off when it comes to how the talent gets to the end result of their matches. Khan decides the winners and losers and what direction he wants segments to go in, but the talent is given the freedom to do what they please in order to get there.

Britt Baker Confirms WWE’s Interest in Signing Her

0

All Elite Wrestling Women’s Champion Britt Baker confirms that WWE had an interest in signing her.

Baker appeared on Throwing Down with Renee Paquette & Miesha Tate to share WWE inquired about her AEW contract. She reveals that WWE spoke with her boyfriend Adam Cole to let Baker know they wanted to sign her. However, Baker had no interest in leaving AEW.

“…You know, It’s no secret since he’s (Cole) already said it by now. Cat’s out of the bag. I’m not going to get in trouble. That WWE was definitely poking the bear a little bit through him recently when I was still signed with AEW,” said Baker. She continues, “…Without teetering the line of contract tampering. They definitely let me know that they had interest in me, but it wasn’t a mutual thing.”

Britt Baker Picking AEW Over WWE

Cole revealed that WWE tried to inquire about Baker’s contract situation when he left the company for AEW on September 5th. Before his departure, Cole shared that WWE wanted to keep Cole and sign Baker. However, those discussions didn’t go any further.

Baker re-signed with AEW to a long-term contract between August and September. She revealed on the September 1st episode of AEW Dynamite that she re-signed to AEW. However, she didn’t share when precisely she signed the new AEW contract. It’s also unclear when her new contract will expire.

Baker has also publicly shared at Planet Comic-Con that she has no interest in wrestling for another promotion. “I’m not going anywhere because I’m in the hottest professional wrestling company on the planet. I don’t need to go anywhere. They can come here, and that’s fine, but I have no desire to go anywhere because they can all come to us,” said Baker. Although things can change, Baker has expressed her happiness with AEW and plans to stay with the company for the foreseeable future.

Fans Returning To NXT UK On Oct. 14

0

Fans will be making their way back to NXT UK shows.

The COVID-19 pandemic made its mark on the wrestling industry. For a while, fans weren’t allowed to travel to shows and wrestling promotions had to adjust and hold events behind closed doors. We’ve seen fans make their return at full capacity in WWE and AEW. Other promotions in Japan still have reduced capacity crowds, although that is looking to change soon.

One brand in WWE that hasn’t been able to see fans in almost 18 months is NXT UK. Finally, there is some good news on that end.

Alex McCarthy of talkSPORT reports that starting on Oct. 14, NXT UK will be held inside the BT Sport Studios with fans in attendance.

“BREAKING: NXT UK will have fans back in for their tapings at BT Studios starting Thursday, October 14. It’s almost 18 months since they had a crowd. I reported last week BT Sport were working hard on it with WWE, glad to see it happen!

“The first episode back has Ilja Dragunov Vs A-Kid for the NXT UK title. Pretty strong damn start!”

As mentioned in the report, Dragunov vs. A-Kid is on tap for the first episode with fans back in attendance. Dragunov ended the 870-day NXT United Kingdom Title reign of WALTER back in August.

Original WWE Draft Plans For Lashley, Street Profits & More

0

WWE had planned Bobby Lashley to be the #1 pick for Raw during night 1 of WWE Draft on Friday’s SmackDown, according to PWinsider. The idea behind it was that the All Mighty’s pick instead of Big E would have worked as a cliffhanger

People would have had to tune in to this week’s episode of Raw to know which brand the WWE champion would land on, especially with his New Day partners Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston being drafted to SmackDown.

These plans were dropped over the course of the day of last week’s SmackDown. The company replaced Lashley with Big E as the #1 pick for the red brand. Bobby Lashley himself was drafted to Raw on Monday.

The officials also seriously considered breaking up The Street Profits. The plan was that Montez Ford would be moved to Raw alongside his wife Bianca Belair while Angelo Dawkins would remain on SmackDown.

WWE cooled down on the idea over the course of last week. So the plan was changed to all three of these names being drafted to Raw instead of two.

The Street Profits did not break up during the show but WWE did end up splitting the team of T-Bar and Mace. The former was drafted to Raw while the latter ended up being picked by SmackDown.

WWE Superstars React To Night 2 Draft Picks

0

The night two of WWE Draft brought in almost as many surprises as the first night. WWE superstars have been reacting to the picks made during this week’s Raw on social media all night.

Bobby Lashley who was the #1 draft pick of the night for the red brand posted a photo with MVP and wrote that the business will continue to bloom.

Seth Rollins reacted to becoming part of the red roster once again by posting some gifs. He also made a tweet reading: “Monday Night Rollins Forever”

Ricochet was interviewed backstage after he was drafted to SmackDown. He claimed that maybe SmackDown is where he needs to be to achieve what he wants, mentioning how the past couple of months for him on Raw have been a slump.

Finn Balor made several tweets after being brought back to Raw. He replied to tweets from people like Seth Rollins and Kevin Owens. The former NXT champion also sent a tweet to his fellow former Bullet Club member AJ Styles.

Sami Zayn, who became the final pick of the night seemed unhappy with his late selection. He first said that his name might not be in the draft list at all before making another tweet about being the last pick.

Bayley, Asuka Among Names To Become Free Agents After WWE Draft

0

A number of WWE superstars have become free agents after not being picked by any brands during the WWE Draft including the former women’s champion Bayley.

Brock Lesnar announced during night 1 of WWE Draft at last week’s SmackDown that he had become a free agent thanks to his advocate Paul Heyman.

A number of other stars then became free agents after they weren’t mentioned during the main or additional drafts on night 2 of WWE Draft.

The list of people who have become free agents include Brock Lesnar, Asuka, Bayley, Elias, Eva Marie, Gran Metalik, John Cena, Lacey Evans, Lince Dorado, Shane McMahon, Slapjack and Titus O’Neil.

Out of these names, both Metalik and Lince Dorado are said to be unhappy with their bookings as of late. Reports even suggested that Gran Metalik has asked for his release from the company.

Though WWE has announced that the roster changes made during the Draft will not come into effect until the Crown Jewel PPV which will be taking place on October 21.

So it’s likely that at least some of these free agents will be assigned a brand before that. It would be interesting to see which brand talent like Asuka and Bayley end up on.

WWE Crown Jewel Updated Match Card: Bobby Lashley Vs. Goldberg Stipulation Match Announced

0

WWE has announced that Bobby Lashley will be taking on Goldberg in a No Holds Barred match at the upcoming Crown Jewel pay-per-view from Saudi Arabia.

These two heavyweight stars originally collided at the SummerSlam PPV in a WWE championship match in August. The All-Mighty won this match when his opponent was declared unable to compete due to a knee injury.

However, Lashley continued attacking the former WCW star afterward. He attacked Goldberg’s son Gage when he came to check on his father as well. Goldberg had vowed to take revenge over this.

This week’s Raw then saw the former Universal champion challenging Lashley for the bout. Bobby Lashley was the one who suggested the stipulation for the match.

WWE Crown Jewel 2021 Updated Match Card

WWE announced a few other matches for the Crown Jewel PPV alongside Lashley vs. Goldberg during the night. You can check out the updated card for the show below:

  • Universal Championship Match: Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns
  • WWE Championship Match: Drew McIntyre vs. Big E
  • Triple Threat SmackDown Women’s Championship Match: Sasha Banks vs. Bianca Belair vs. Becky Lynch
  • Raw Tag Team Championship Match: AJ Styles and Omos vs. Randy Orton and Riddle
  • No Holds Barred Match: Bobby Lashley vs. WWE Hall of Famer Bill Goldberg

WWE Crown Jewel will take place on October 21 from the Mohammed Abdu Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

WWE Announces Additional Draft Picks After Raw

0

The WWE Draft continued after this week’s episode of Raw during Raw Talk. The company announced some additional draft picks during the show.

The show saw picks such as The Miz being drafted to the red brand. His former tag team partner John Morrison was picked by the show as well last week.

The Hurt Business’ Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander also remained on Raw after Bobby Lashley was confirmed to be staying on the same brand earlier in the night during WWE Draft.

WWE Draft Night 2: All Additional Draft Picks

A total of 16 superstars were picked by the brands in the additional picks made during Raw Talk. Here is a list of stars that were drafted during the show:

The company has confirmed that the updated rosters will not come to effect until the 2021 Crown Jewel PPV on October 21.

Many stars have become free agents after not being picked during the WWE Draft and it will be interesting to see what the officials have planned for them.

Gable Steveson Reacts To Being Drafted To Raw

0

The biggest surprise coming out of night two of WWE Draft on Monday’s episode of Raw was the red brand picking up Gable Steveson to join their roster.

WWE showed a video of the Olympic gold medallist with his parents after his pick was announced. The amateur wrestling star also took on his Twitter to react to the news:

https://twitter.com/GableSteveson/status/1445217691678265345

While Gable Steveson had been talking about a potential WWE career since last year, the 21-year-old was officially signed by the promotion only last month.

The Olympic star himself had revealed after his signing that there was a good chance he would skip an NXT run and be sent to main roster directly. Though very few expected it to happen this soon.

It’s unknown what Steveson’s immediate role on Raw will be but reports suggest that he will go full time in May 2022. So it’s possible that he will be more focused on his pro wrestling training and make sporadic appearances till then.

The night two of WWE Draft brought in some other surprises as well such as both SmackDown women’s champion Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins being drafted to Raw from SmackDown and more.

You can check out all the draft picks made during the show here.

WWE Draft Night 2 Results: All On Air Draft Picks

0

WWE Draft continued on this week’s episode of Raw. The show saw some changes that were expected after last Friday’s SmackDown and a couple of surprises as well.

After the Raw women’s champion Charlotte Flair was drafted to the blue brand, many believed Becky Lynch will be shifted to Raw to balance the star power, and this change was made official with the very first draft pick of the night.

The WWE Draft brought in some unexpected changes for the second night of the event as well, such as the former Universal champion Finn Balor being moved to Raw or Sheamus being picked up by SmackDown.

Though probably the biggest surprise of the night was Raw picking 2020 Olympic gold medallist Gable Steveson to join the red roster in the final round of the draft.

Major NXT Name In WWE Draft Conversation?

0

One big NXT name could be on the table for a main roster callup.

The second night of the WWE draft will take place on tonight’s (Oct. 4) edition of Monday Night Raw. There has been much speculation regarding who could be switching brands. We’ve seen a report from Wrestle Votes that one Monday Night Raw writer was adamant about wanting Finn Balor on the red brand now that Drew McIntyre has moved to SmackDown.

Now, PWInsider is reporting that WALTER is in the United States and there have been rumblings about doing something with him outside of NXT UK. WALTER is coming off another instant classic with Ilja Dragunov at TakeOver 36 back in August. Dragunov ended the 870-day NXT United Kingdom Title reign of WALTER.

Just like the Wrestle Votes report with Balor, this report from PWInsider does NOT confirm that WALTER is on his way to Raw or SmackDown tonight. You’ve heard it before, plans change all the time and some ideas don’t make it to TV. If WALTER does indeed get his name called in the draft tonight, we’ll be sure to let you know.

Do you think it’s time for WALTER to make his way to the main roster?

Tessa Blanchard Reportedly Set To Return To Wrestling

0

It looks like Tessa Blanchard has a landing spot and a revival is on the horizon.

Blanchard hasn’t been seen inside the ring since her nasty split from Impact Wrestling during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. At the time, Blanchard was the Impact World Champion.

Blanchard is being factored into plans for the relaunch of Women of Wrestling (WOW), according to Fightful. We don’t know if she has already sined a contract with the company.

Additionally, there will be another former WOW wrestler who will also play a pivotal role in the relaunch of the promotion. It’s been said that a press conference is scheduled for Wednesday (Oct. 6). WOW has yet to sort out roster plans.

Fans expecting WOW to get back up and running quickly will need to have a bit more patience. The Fightful report notes that this relaunch isn’t expected to happen imminently. It appears it’s in the very early stages but at the very least, the company wants people to know of its plans to return.

WOW and AXS TV parted ways back in June 2020. The split wasn’t surprising as Impact Wrestling made its way to AXS following a purchase.

We have reached out to Tessa Blanchard for comment on this story.

Stick with SEScoops.com for more on Tessa Blanchard’s return to wrestling and the Women of Wrestling reboot when more details become available.

Ricochet Admits He Hasn’t Been Doing Much On WWE TV

0

Ricochet knows that he’s not been as active as he’d like to be on WWE TV.

When Ricochet signed with WWE back in 2018, there was plenty of hype around it. Many fans fantasized about the potential matchups. Ricochet certainly had a solid run on the NXT brand. He ended up becoming the North American Champion and had heavily praised matches with Adam Cole and Johnny Gargano.

Ricochet’s run on the main roster wasn’t exactly terrible at first. He captured the United States Championship and challenged Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship. Of course, the match with Lesnar ended up being a squash and he hasn’t exactly been relevant on WWE TV since.

During an appearance on the With Authority! podcast, Ricochet said that he’s waiting in the wings to do something special.

“That’s exactly what I’m here waiting on right now. I haven’t been doing much for the last five weeks. But that’s because I’ve been waiting, biding my time, waiting for the right moment. I’m super excited for the draft. I don’t really have a specific brand I’m hoping to be on. For me it’s just wherever I land, I know in that moment that I’ve got to make an impact, wherever I’m at. People all the time are telling me ‘I want to see you! I want to see you!’ I get that a lot. So I’m just waiting for my opportunity to strike I guess.”

Ricochet currently competes on the Monday Night Raw brand but that could change tonight (Oct. 4). The second night of the WWE draft will take place and Ricochet is eligible to be drafted to SmackDown.

Tag Team Title Match Signed For WWE Crown Jewel

0

Another title match has been added to the WWE Crown Jewel event.

WWE will be making its way back to Saudi Arabia on Oct. 21. The show will feature the highly-anticipated WWE Universal Title match between champion Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar. A triple threat match for the SmackDown Women’s Championship between Becky Lynch, Bianca Belair, and Sasha Banks will also be featured at Crown Jewel.

We now have another title match added to the mix. Raw Tag Team Champions Riddle and Randy Orton will put their gold on the line against AJ Styles and Omos in a rematch. RK-Bro defeated Styles and Omos for the tag team championships back in August at the Summerslam event.

Here’s the official word from WWE:

“At WWE Crown Jewel, WWE Raw Tag Team Champions RK-Bro will go head-to-head with former titleholders AJ Styles & Omos in what is sure to be an explosive WWE Raw Tag Team Title rematch.”

Orton has missed a few dates as of late. It was reported by PWInsider that he hadn’t been cleared to compete. It seems that whatever issues Randy Orton had have been resolved.

WWE Crown Jewel will also feature the King of the Ring and Queen’s Crown finals. While it hasn’t been announced, Goldberg is expected to meet former WWE Champion Bobby Lashley in a rematch at Crown Jewel.
