WWE RAW Results (9/6): Tag Team Turmoil, Title Matches Set For Extreme Rules

WWE RAW aired from the FTX Arena in Miami, Florida. Sheamus battled Drew McIntyre to determine who will face Damian Priest for the United States Championship at Extreme Rules. 8 teams competed in a Tag Team Turmoil match to become the #1 contenders for the RAW Tag Team Championships.

Lashley Will Defend The WWE Title Against Randy Orton At Extreme Rules

RAW Tag Team Champions RK-Bro came to the ring to a great reaction to the crowd. Orton noted that MVP & Lashley failed miserably at capturing their tag titles and called Lashley a greedy b*tch. Riddle spoke about all the teams in the Tag Turmoil match and how he hopes New Day bring pancakes to the ring.

WWE Champion Lashley and MVP interrupted and made their way to the ring. MVP called Orton’s RKO last week cowardly and challenged him to match. Orton said that has been about 10-15 years since they faced each other and dared Lashley to put the WWE Championship on the line. Lashley accepted and said that they are going to be in the Tag Team Turmoil match later tonight as well. Lashley vowed to become double champ at Extreme Rules and New Day interrupted. They said that Lashley and MVP better hurry up and talk to Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville because they are about to kick off the Tag Team Turmoil match right now.

Mace & T-Bar Attacked New Day, Ali & Mansoor

New Day faced Viking Raiders first in the Tag Turmoil match. Kofi beat Ivar down in the corner but Ivar battled back. Erik tagged in and slammed Ivar on top of Kingston. Erik went for the cover but Kingston kicked out at two. Erik leveled Kofi with a shoulder tackle and brought him to the corner.

Ivar tagged in and Kingston hit him with a Double Stomp. Xavier Woods tagged in and tried to send Erik to the corner. Erik blocked it and sent Woods across the ring with an overhead throw. Woods caught Erik with a boot to the face and leaped through the ropes into a Tornado DDT. Kofi tagged in and hit Erik with a kick to the face for a two count.

Kingston did a trust fall onto the Viking Raiders outside the ring and they caught him. Erik and Ivar launched Kofi onto Woods as RAW went to a commercial break. When RAW returned, Viking Raiders were in control and Ivar hit a massive Frog Splash. Ivar went for the cover but Woods kicked out at two and RK-Bro couldn’t believe it ringside.

Jinder Mahal and Veer were the next team. New Day hit a couple Suicide Dive and Woods followed it up with a Splash in the ring on Mahal for a near fall. Jinder hit an elbow to the face and stomped on Xavier’s midsection. Mahal connected with a Knee Drop for a two count and Veer tagged in. Veer sent Woods out of the ring and Kofi went to check on him but Shanky got in the way as RAW went to a break.

When RAW returned, New Day took control and hit Mahal with a Backbreaker/Double Stomp for the pinfall. Lucha House Party entered the match next and dominated the action early. Kofi hit an ugly Splash for a two count and then brought Lince Dorado to the corner. Dorado hit New Day with a Cutter and then sent Woods to the mat with a Superkick. Metalik tagged in for a Moonsault and Dorado followed it up with one of his one. Dorado went for the cover but Kofi broke it up at two. Lucha House Party threw Kofi out of the ring and set Woods up for a move. Kofi broke it up and Woods rolled up Dorado for the pinfall.

Mace and T-Bar made their way to the ring to face New Day as RAW went to a break. Mace and T-Bar spent the next few minutes beating the hell out of Xavier Woods. Mace knocked Kofi off the apron and Woods rolled up T-Bar for the pinfall. They attacked Kingston after and then beat down Mansoor & Mustafa Ali. Mace brought steel steps into the ring and T-Bar launched Kofi into them. T-Bar bashed Mustafa Ali into the ring post until finally WWE officials rushed the ring to break it up as RAW went to a break. It was announced that New Day, AJ Styles & Omos, Mansoor & Ali, and Bobby Lashley & MVP will finish the Tag Turmoil match later on the show.

Damian Priest Will Defend The US Title Against Sheamus At Extreme Rules

Sheamus faced Drew McIntyre tonight to begin the 2nd hour of RAW. The winner of the match will face Damian Priest at Extreme Rules for the United States Championship.

Sheamus brought McIntyre to the mat and applied a Headlock as Damian Priest was shown watching backstage. McIntyre escaped and ran over Sheamus with a shoulder tackle. Drew followed it up with a chop to the chest and hit 10 Beats of the Bodhran on Sheamus.

The Celtic Warrior knocked McIntyre to the outside and made his way to the top rope. Sheamus connected with a Flying Clothesline and rolled Drew back into the ring. McIntyre hit a Spinebuster and went for the cover but Sheamus kicked out at two. McIntyre and Sheamus battled on the top rope and traded punches. Sheamus hit a massive Superplex as RAW went to a break.

Sheamus made his way to the top rope again but McIntyre quickly hopped and hurled him to the canvas for a near fall. Sheamus planted McIntyre with an Alabama Slam and went for the cover but McIntyre kicked out at two. Sheamus mocked the 3-2-1 chant and went for a Brogue Kick but McIntyre countered with a Clothesline.

McIntyre hit the Future Shock DDT but Sheamus was able to kick out at two. Sheamus hit a running knee to the face and went for the cover but McIntyre kicked out at two. Drew then planted Sheamus with White Noise for a near fall. Sheamus dodged a Claymore and rolled up McIntyre and used his tights for leverage to steal the win. Drew hit Sheamus with his mask and leveled him with a Claymore after the match. US Champion Damian Priest was interviewed backstage and claimed that he has Sheamus’ number indwell retain at Extreme Rules.

Rhea Ripley & Nikki A.S.H. Pinned The Champs

Natalya & Tamina faced Nikki A.S.H. and Rhea Ripley tonight on RAW in a Championship Contenders match. The crowd didn’t seem to be behind Nikki as Tamina sent her to the corner to begin the match. Tamina perched Nikki up on the top rope and went for a Samoan Drop but Nikki escaped. Nikki hit a Dropkick and tagged Ripley in. Ripley leveled Tamina with a kick to the face but Tamina got right up. The two superstars traded punches in the middle of the ring but the champions took control.

Natalya tagged in and got Ripley in a Headlock in the middle of the ring. Rhea escaped lifted Nikki onto her shoulders. Nikki booted Natalya as Tamina brought Ripley out of the ring. Tamina hit a Superkick and Ripley crashed into the steel steps as RAW went to a commercial.

When RAW returned, Ripley bashed Tamina off the apron and planted Natalya with a Northern Lights Suplex for a near fall. Nikki tagged in and hit a Crossbody but Tamina broke up the cover. Natalya hit a German Suplex on Rhea and hit Nikki with a Clothesline. Natalya went for the Sharpshooter but Ripley broke it up and hit Riptide for the pinfall victory. Rhea and Nikki A.S.H. are now in line for a title shot against the team they just defeated.

Karrion Kross Tapped Out John Morrison

John Morrison had Karrion Kross on an episode of Moist TV backstage. Kross said he wanted to eliminate Morrison from existence and teach him to fall and pray tonight. Kross then battled John Morrison in a singles match.

Karrion Kross completely dominated the match early and John crawled to the corner. Morrison sprayed Karrion in the face with a squirt gun and Kross sent him into the ring post with a Back Body Drop. Morrison crashed to the floor and Kross let out a scream. Back in the ring, Karrion locked in the Kross Jacket for the submission victory.

Charlotte Flair Retained The RAW Women’s Title, Alexa Bliss Challenged Her

Charlotte Flair defended the RAW Women’s Championship against Nia Jax tonight. Before the match, Shayna Baszler said she isn’t sure Nia can beat Charlotte two times in a row and suggested that she will choke tonight.

Charlotte attacked Nia and the two started trash talking. Charlotte tried to leave with the title but Nia dragged her back into the ring by the hair. Flair hit Jax with a chop block and then a Powerbomb off the middle rope for near fall. Flair focused her attack on Nia’s leg and stomped it on it several times. Charlotte set up for the Figure Four but Nia blocked it and slammed Flair into the turnbuckle as RAW went to a commercial break.

Flair connected with a Moonsault outside the ring. Shayna went to hit Flair but she ducked and Baszler almost hit Nia. Back in the ring, Flair and Jax battled to the corner of the ring. Shayna hopped up on the ring apron to distract Nia again and Flair hit Natural Selection on Charlotte for the pinfall victory.

After the match, Alexa Bliss appeared on the Jumbotron and invited Charlotte to Alexa’s Playground. Charlotte declined and then the lights went out. Bliss showed up with Lilly in the ring behind Flair. Charlotte asked what Alexa wanted and Bliss pointed at the title. Charlotte asked if Bliss wanted a title match and then raised the RAW Women’s Championship as the crowd chanted “yes!”. Flair accepted but noted that the ring isn’t Bliss’ playground, it is hers.

Reggie Retained The 24/7 Championship

Reggie defended the 24/7 Championship against Akira Tozawa tonight on RAW. Reggie retained in a quick match and flipped onto Jeff Hardy and other superstars that were chasing him around for the title. Drake Maverick made his return to RAW and appeared on the ramp at the end of the segment. R-Truth told him to go back home to his wife as Reggie escaped.

Lashley & MVP Earned A Title Shot Next Week

New Day limped back down the entrance ramp to begin the 2nd half of Tag Team Turmoil against Mansoor and Mustafa Ali. RK-Bro were ringside again. Kofi hit Mustafa with SOS and tagged in Woods. Kofi connected with a Superplex on Ali and they rolled out of the ring. Mansoor rolled up Woods for near fall and Xavier grabbed his back in pain. Ali demanded that Mansoor attack him but he backed away. Mustafa tagged in and kicked Woods in the back. Xavier responded with a headbutt and then Kingston hit Ali with Trouble in Paradise. Woods followed it up with an Elbow Drop across the ring on Ali for the pinfall.

AJ Styles and Omos were the next team and AJ beat Woods down for a few minutes. Xavier eventually battled back and sent AJ out of the ring. Woods crawled to the corner but AJ knocked Kofi off the apron. Woods and AJ both connected with a Clothesline at the same time and fell to the canvas.

Kingston and Omos tagged in and Omos swatted the former WWE Champion out of the air as RAW went to a break. When RAW returned, Kofi hit AJ with an Enziguri and went for the cover but Omos broke it up. Woods charged at Omos but he threw him out of the ring. Omos lifted up Kofi and handed him to Styles. AJ connected with the Styles Clash for the pinfall. New Day wrestled for at least an hour during the show.

WWE Champion Bobby Lashley and MVP then battled AJ Styles & Omos for a shot at the RAW Tag Team Championships. Lashley controlled the action early and AJ retreated to the corner. Omos tagged in and towered over Lashley in the ring. Lashley and Omos locked up in a test of strength and the champion connected with some kicks to the midsection.

Bobby set up for a Suplex but Omos countered and slammed Lashley to the mat. Omos hit Lashley with a boot to the face and the WWE Champion tumbled out of the ring. Lashley got up and Randy Orton was right in his face. The two started at each other and AJ Styles took them both out with a Crossbody off the announce table. Omos grabbed Riddle and hurled him into the barricade.

MVP hobbled up to AJ Styles and he dropped him with a kick to the side of the head. Omos launched Riddle over the announce table as AJ set up for the Phenomenal Forearm. Lashley got out of the way and hit AJ Styles with a Spear for the pinfall victory. Lashley and MVP earned a shot at the RAW Tag Team Championships next week. After the match, Omos planted Lashley with a Chokeslam and Orton hit Lashley with an RKO when he got back up. RK-Bro posed for the crowd to close the show.

CM Punk Says Teaming With Sting Is “A Bucket List Thing”

CM Punk admits teaming with Sting is bucket list material.

Punk recently had his first wrestling match in seven years. He took on Darby Allin at the AEW All Out PPV inside the Now Arena in Chicago, Illinois. Punk hit Darby with the GTS to get the pinfall victory.

Ahead of the match, Sting, who is Darby’s mentor, promised he would stay out of the match. “The Icon” lived up to his word and stood backstage after Darby made his walkout. After the match, Sting returned and shook Punk’s hand.

Speaking to media members following All Out, Punk discussed what it would mean to team with Sting.

“Without ever having a bucket list, it’d be hard for me to write things down because I’ve done so many cool things, but yeah, that’s one of them, that’s a bucket list thing. It’s an item that I never thought I would, you know, because your brain doesn’t go there. We were never in the same company at the same time with two different generations of wrestlers and you just, you never thought it was possible, and now it is. That’s kind of how I feel about the entire groundswell of AEW as a whole, you know, like you got me, Darby and Sting in a ring and it’s legitimately three different generations, you know?

“It feels like there’s something there and there’s real organic moments here. Like him coming out and shaking my hand. We didn’t talk about that. That wasn’t a planned thing. He came out and he did it. Before I shook his hand, I looked at him and I was like, ‘This means something to a kid like me,’ and he said, ‘It means something to me too, you know?’ That’s, that’s wild to me. That’s the playground we have here, where we could do all the stuff that you didn’t ever think was possible.”

Updated Card for Extreme Rules: Lashley vs. Orton, US Title Match Set

Two big matches have been announced for the upcoming Extreme Rules PPV.

In the opening segment of Monday’s episode of Raw from Miami, FL at the American Airlines Arena, Randy Orton issued a challenge to Bobby Lashley for the WWE Title at Extreme Rules. Lashley accepted and also wanted to be in the tag team turmoil match to crown the new contenders for the Raw Tag Team Titles, which just so happens to be held by Orton and Matt Riddle. 

WWE booked Drew McIntyre vs. Sheamus in a singles match. The stipulation was that the winner would get the next shot at the United States Title. 

As a result of Sheamus going over, he will now challenge Damian Priest for the United States Title at the Extreme Rules pay-per-view event. Just last week, Priest successfully retained the title over both Sheamus and McIntyre in a triple threat match. 

At last month’s SummerSlam pay-per-view event, Priest beat Sheamus for the strap while McIntyre beat Jinder Mahal in a match. 

WWE announced after Raw that Charlotte Flair would defend the Raw Women’s Title against Alexa Bliss at this show as well. 

On Raw, Flair retained her title over Nia Jax after interference from Shayna Baszler. Post-match, Bliss confronted Flair and said she wanted the title. 

WWE presents the Extreme Rules pay-per-view event on Sunday, September 26, 2021 in Columbus, Ohio at the Nationwide Arena that will air on Peacock. WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch vs. Bianca Belair was previously confirmed for this show. 

Jon Moxley Speaks On His Oct. 9 Clash With Nick Gage

Jon Moxley is preparing for a bloodbath against Nick Gage.

Moxley shocked GCW fans with his appearance at a recent event this past Saturday night (Sept. 4). Moxley nailed Matt Cardona with Paradigm Shift and captured the GCW Title. After the match, Moxley and Gage stared down and made their match for Oct. 9 official.

“Madison Square Garden, Grand Slam Champion, all those fucking toys and posters, they don’t mean shit. Getting mugged by fans in airports and hotels and arenas, don’t mean shit, I don’t like people anyway,” said Jon Moxley in a visceral post-match promo. “It’s not the drug that I love, the drug I’ve been addicted to you for over a decade. Nicky, when you were in jail right, pacing and pacing around in a jail cell, I was pacing around in hotel rooms. I wanted that drug.

“We have unfinished business, we have a score to settle that is 10 years old and I paced those hotel rooms and I prayed to God that you would get out one day so that we could settle that score. I tried to let it go, Spring Break I really tried to let it go. I tried to let you have your moment, but I just can’t let it go. I want that drug, Nicky, the drug that only comes when me and you lock horns in the center of the ring and there’s no other ring it can take place in but GCW. The place where I am the king now. Do you think [the championship] really means anything to me? I’m going to make it mean something. If I want to go and become the greatest GCW World Champion of all time, I can do that because I’m just that good. I can make it look that easy.”

Moxley vs. Gage will be taking place inside The Showboat in Atlantic City.

Vince McMahon Reportedly Not At Sept. 6 WWE Raw Taping

It appears Vince McMahon isn’t backstage for tonight’s Raw taping.

PWInsider is reporting that McMahon has put Bruce Prichard in charge of the show for Sept. 6. This comes one week after McMahon was reportedly upset about the original script for the Aug. 30 episode of Raw. It was said that McMahon dismissed several rewrites before the show aired.

Cody Rhodes Set To Make His Return Soon (Report)

It appears we now know the timetable for the return of Cody Rhodes.

Rhodes was last seen on the Aug. 4 edition of AEW Dynamite. He was on the receiving end of a one-sided beatdown at the hands of Malakai Black. After hitting Black Mass, Black was able to get a three-count on Cody by simply placing his boot on his chest. After the match, Cody went to leave his boots in the ring but Black attacked him.

Bodyslam.net is reporting that Rhodes is expected to make his return “within the month.” It’s also said that there are “big plans” in store for him.

As of late, Black has been running through the Nightmare Family. After defeating Brock Anderson, Black booted Arn Anderson low and connected with Black Mass. He then defeated Lee Johnson. On the Sept. 8 edition of Dynamite, Black will collide with Cody’s older brother, Dustin.

Many believe that Black’s destruction of the Nightmare Family will push Cody Rhodes over the edge and he’ll go after Black with a vengeance. Rhodes had a similar situation with Mr. Brodie Lee. Cody was dominated by Lee, losing the TNT Championship. After some time away from the ring, Rhodes returned and reclaimed the gold by defeating Lee in a Dog Collar Match.

Ruby Soho Says All Out Was The Greatest Night Of Her Career

Ruby Soho debuted for AEW at All Out last night as the Joker in the Casino Battle Royale. Not only that, Soho won the match and has now earned a shot against AEW Women’s World Champion, Britt Baker. Soho spoke to the media following the show at the post-event press conference.

“Having been through this very, very long almost 11-year journey to get here, to get to this moment, to get to the legitimate pinnacle of my entire wrestling career, which was tonight, and gain the opportunity at the AEW women’s championship is the most special and significant thing in the world to me,” Soho said.

Ruby also fittingly came out to the ring to the sounds of Rancid’s “Ruby Soho.” She was asked about the significance of her new ring music as well.

“So, I have been a fan of Rancid for a very, very long time. Coincidentally enough, I don’t know if you guys know this, but a lot of punk fans are big wrestling fans. And Lars (Frederiksen) and I had became friends over the last couple years. I had kind of come upon a time where I was like ‘ok, I need to know what I’m going to be called, what my music is going to be’ and he suggested, and like bestowed upon me, Ruby Soho and the music.”

Soho then started to get emotional as she spoke about fans chanting for her before she made her debut.

“I have never experienced anything like that before,” Soho continued. “To have people have that anticipation for me to come out and for people to want that and for people to get it and get excited, is something that I think all of us in the wrestling industry thrive for.”

“It just felt like home from the moment I walked out there,” Soho continued.

Soho was also asked when was the last time she was this happy in pro-wrestling. She was adamant that this is the happiest she’s ever been in her career.

“I don’t think I’ve ever been this happy in pro-wrestling, if I’m being honest,” Soho responded. “Like tonight, my face hurts from smiling. That’s a real thing, my face hurts from smiling so much. I never want this feeling to go away. I’m so grateful, I’m so grateful to Tony, I’m so grateful to all of you, to everyone that was in attendance tonight for just welcoming me with open arms. Usually I’m the misfit, but you guys made me feel like I fit right in.”

CM Punk Says New AEW Additions Are Bigger Than WCW/NWO Era

At All Out 2021, CM Punk returned to the wrestling ring for the first time in 7 years, Bryan Danielson debuted for AEW, Adam Cole re-joined his former Elite stablemates, and Ruby Soho debuted and earned a title shot. At the post-event media scrum, Punk was asked about the new additions to the AEW roster and how they stack up against the names WCW brought in during the mid to late 90s.

“I’m not Hogan, I’m not Savage. Daniel Bryan and Adam Cole are not the Outsiders,” Punk responded. “I see the parallels. This is totally different and I’ll go ahead and say it, people can quote me and they’ll be pissed off about it, to me, this is bigger.”

Earlier in the discussion, Punk said that he feels the new AEW additions will have a big impact. He’s not worried about competing with other companies, however. It’s about AEW focussing on their talent and audience.

“Obviously, I think it’s going to be very impactful,” Punk said. “I’m not personally in the business of a war or competing. I know who competition is and who competition isn’t. To me, we focus on ourselves. We focus on the talent we have and we focus on the people in the building and I think that’s how we grow.”

Adam Cole Says It Was A “Fairly Easy” Decision To Sign With AEW

Adam Cole debuted for All Elite Wrestling last night at All Out 2021. Shortly after entering the ring following the night’s main event, Cole super kicked Jungle Boy and re-joined his former stablemates in the Elite.

Cole’s short stint as a free agent this summer garnered many headlines across pro-wrestling but according to the former NXT Champion, his decision to sign with AEW was “a fairly easy one.”

“When you think about where I was, that technically was my dream since I was 9 years old,” Cole said in the post-event press conference. “And then I’d seen everything that AEW was doing…I’d been here countless times to support Britt and hang out with the crew and it’s just the best group.”

“At the same time, I’d really built a reputation for myself there as well but I knew in my heart pretty early on that I wanted to come here and it’s no knock whatsoever on them. I had a very excellent 4 year experience but I wanted to come back and work with a crew that I love being around 24/7, a crew that is just as passionate about pro wrestling as I am and fans that feel the exact same way as we do. So, making the decision was a fairly easy one.”

Moxley vs. Minoru Suzuki, Ruby Soho Set for Wednesday’s Dynamite

Hot off Sunday’s blockbuster All Out pay-per-view, All Elite Wrestling returns this Wednesday with a live edition of AEW Dynamite.

Dynamite will emanate from Jon Moxley’s hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio. The homecoming won’t be an easy night at the office for the former AEW World Champion.

In a ‘Forbidden Door’ dream match, Moxley will clash with NJPW legend Minoru Suzuki. Suzuki made a surprise appearance at All Out and left Moxley sprawled out on the canvas in their first physical encounter in an AEW ring.

In addition to Moxley vs. Suzuki, Malakai Black will face Dustin Rhodes. The Natural looks to stop Black’s path of destruction through the Nightmare Family.

Former WWE Superstar Ruby Soho made a surprise debut at All Out. She was the Joker in the Casino Battle Royal match and was victorious. Ruby Soho earned the right to challenge Women’s World Champion Britt Baker and will be on hand at Dynamite to discuss her arrival in AEW.

We can also expect plenty of fallout from All Out, including the shocking debuts of Adam Cole and Bryan Danielson.

Adam Cole, himself, was surprised when he learned that his WWE contract expired.

Cole had been regarded by many as the MVP of NXT. He found plenty of success on the brand, holding the NXT Championship for over a year. While Cole had plenty of standout performances during his time with WWE, there was a big clerical error.

Soon, Cole found out his WWE contract expired and even top WWE officials weren’t immediately aware of it. Speaking to reporters following the All Out PPV, Cole admitted that he didn’t even know.

“Yeah so, funny enough, believe it or not, I was also surprised. Yeah, I was under the impression that it was like six months later. So it was a surprise to me. It was a surprise to them. It was public knowledge for a lot of people that I had signed a little extension, I was in the middle of a really serious angle with Kyle O’Reilly, which was very important to me. He’s one of my best friends in the entire world. Then after that is when stuff kind of opened up for me, but very surprising to me. It was just as surprising to me.”

Adam Cole signed a brief extension with WWE to finish his feud with Kyle O’Reilly. Once the extension was over, Cole became a free agent. On Sept. 5, he made his debut for AEW on the All Out PPV. Cole aligned himself with The Elite before being cleared out of the ring by Bryan Danielson, who also made his AEW debut.

Bryan Danielson has explained why he ultimately decided to put pen to paper with AEW.

Danielson was reportedly showing up at the All Out PPV and that was indeed the case. His promotional debut followed up Adam Cole’s. Cole revealed himself to be the newest member of The Elite. Danielson made it clear that he’s a face, evening the odds and helping clear The Elite out of the ring after Christian Cage and Jurassic Express were attacked.

Bryan Danielson spoke to media members following the All Out event. He discussed making his final decision to join the AEW roster.

“So I heard something over the past week that one of the things that really turned Punk was the Brodie Lee show. It was also one of the things — I saw it and so many of us loved him so much and so we saw it and saw how special it was and we saw, like okay, we’re gonna stop what we’re normally doing. I thought that was really special to me.

“So that was when I really started kind of thinking about my contract coming up. But the final decision, honestly, was just like, I started thinking about things — WWE was so gracious with me as far as the offer that they gave me. They were gonna let me go do some other stuff on the outside, but, I hate to say this, Vince sometimes — He and I have a great relationship. I love him, I do. Sometimes he’s overprotective of me. I want to be able to push my limits. That’s one of the things that I love about this, is like the physicality of what we do out there and being able to push my limits and being able to do that here in a safe manner is one of the things that really drew me here.

“Then there’s also, I just think there’s an excitement, you know what I mean? There’s just an excitement. You see the crowd. I mean I think you all see it, probably were all out there and you felt it. You felt how excited people are about this product and it feels vibrant. Even just watching it through a TV screen in a trailer. I’m sitting there going, ‘God this is awesome. I want to be a part of this.’ So that was it. Although it was — I don’t know, I really battled back and forth because there’s a lot of people there that I consider family, that actually are legitimately my family, and you know, people that I love there so it was a really tough decision.”

Bryan Danielson addressed the crowd following his big AEW debut.

It had been reported by Bodyslam.net that Danielson’s return was bumped up from the Sept. 22 Dynamite show in New York City to All Out on Sept. 5 in Hoffman Estates. That report was indeed correct.

Danielson made his entrance right after Adam Cole debuted in AEW to join The Elite. Danielson evened the odds for Christian Cage and Jurassic Express, who were attacked after the main event of All Out.

Danielson’s assist ended up helping the faces clean house. Ryan Droste posted video of Bryan addressing the crowd once the PPV went off the air.

“There’s some people around here who call themselves Elite. I’m gonna be here to see if they truly are…so AEW, let’s f*cking go!”

Danielson was last seen at the WrestleMania PPV back in April. He challenged Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship in a match that also involved Edge. Reigns ended up pinning both Danielson and Edge to retain.

It had been reported that Danielson’s contract came to an end and there was a negotiation period with WWE. It was reported that Bryan Danielson wanted to also wrestle in other places such as Japan. It got to the point where WWE’s Nick Khan was said to be in contact with NJPW but those talks went nowhere.

CM Punk has given his reaction to the AEW signings of Bryan Danielson and Adam Cole.

Danielson and Cole made their AEW debuts on Sept. 5 at the end of the All Out PPV. Cole was the first to make his surprise entrance, joining The Elite in their beatdown of Christian Cage and Jurassic Express. Danielson then evened the odds by fighting alongside the faces.

Speaking to reporters following the All Out PPV, Punk discussed the promotional debuts of Danielson and Cole.

“I mean, you know, pardon my lewdness, but I got a boner for that. Honestly, like, you know, I feel everybody has their own journey and their own story and their own experiences of where we used to work. You know, but I heard him say. I left and I don’t got a lot of good things to say, he left [Bryan] and he says he loved the place. But what does it mean when you love that place but you still don’t want to be there. You want to be here. I think that speaks volumes.

“Adam Cole is a guy that I’ve never wrestled and I know I’m going to sometime. I look forward to it. Daniel Bryan is a guy I have wrestled and I feel like that’ll happen somewhere down the line too. It’s like at Christmas. You know, I unwrap a gift, I don’t know what’s in it. It could be Adam Cole, could be Daniel Bryan, could be Kenny Omega, could be the Young Bucks, could be Will Hobbs, could be Ricky Starks. I mean it’s just endless, I am so happy right now.”

CM Punk was also featured on the All Out card. He had his first match in seven years, taking on Darby Allin. Punk scored the three-count after he hit the GTS.

AEW All Out aired live on PPV from the NOW Arena in Chicago. CM Punk made his return to the ring to face Darby Allin. Kenny Omega defended the AEW Championship against Christian Cage. Britt Baker defended the AEW Women’s Championship against Kris Statlander and Miro put the TNT Championship on the line against Eddie Kingston. Young Bucks and Lucha Bros battled in a Steel Cage Match for the AEW Tag Team Championships. AEW Full Gear was announced for Saturday November 13th.

Here are the takeaways from the PPV:

Miro Retained The TNT Title

Miro put the TNT Championship on the line against Eddie Kingston in the first match of the night. Eddie controlled the action early and Miro got out of the ring to regroup. Back in the ring, Kingston remained in control and lit up Miro’s chest with some chops. The TNT Champion backed to the corner and Kingston unloaded a flurry of chops before connecting with an Exploder Suplex that sent Miro back to the outside.

Kingston followed the champion and Miro caught him with a punch to the face. Miro launched Kingston into the barricade and delivered a kick to his face. Kingston responded with a running boot to the face and went for a Crossbody off the apron but Miro countered into a massive Powerslam.

The champ slammed Eddie into the ring post a couple times before dropping him to the floor and posing for the booing crowd. Miro brought Eddie back into the ring and started biting his hand. Eddie got in some punches but Miro connected with a massive right hand and Kingston collapsed to the mat. Miro went for the cover and then applied a Headlock in the middle of the ring.

Eddie escaped but Miro connected with a Dropkick and Kingston stumbled to the corner. Miro connected with a Splash and Kingston hit a chop to the neck. Kingston and Miro had an awkward sequence in the corner before Eddie threw the champion out of the ring.

Back in the ring, Miro and Kingston traded chops to the chest. Kingston hit two Suplexes and went for the cover but Miro powered out at two. Eddie set up for the Backfist to the Future but Miro got out of the ring. Kingston leveled him with a Suicide Dive and the action returned to the ring.

Miro went for a big boot but Eddie got out of the way and hit a Northern Lights Suplex for a near fall. Eddie went for a Splash but Miro got out of the way. Miro unloaded several forearms to the back of Kingston and hit him with a German Suplex. Kingston got right up and Miro leveled him with a Machka Kick. Miro got Kingston in the Game Over in the middle of the ring but Eddie was able to reach the ropes.

The champion couldn’t believe it and Eddie hit him with the Backfist to the Future. Kingston quickly followed it up with a DDT and went for the cover but the referee was trying to put a turnbuckle pad back on.

The referee finally realized but it was too late and Miro kicked out at two. Kingston went to slam Miro’s head into the exposed turnbuckle but the referee got in the way. Miro hit Eddie with a low blow and a running kick to the face for the pinfall victory. Miro is still the TNT Champion.

Jon Moxley def. Satoshi Kojima, Minoru Suzuki Confronted Him After The Match

Jon Moxley faced Satoshi Kojima tonight at All Out. Moxley captured the GCW Championship last night and made his way to the ring in a GCW sweatshirt.

Moxley and Kojima traded strikes to start off the match. Kojima sent Jon down with a shoulder tackle and flexed in the ring. Jon rolled out of the ring and Kojima connected with a Crossbody. Moxley battled back with a Suicide Dive that sent Kojima into the barricade.

Jon stomped on Kojima’s hand and hit him with a few knees to the face. Moxley hit some punches and Kojima responded with an absurd amount of chops to the chest in the corner. Kojima followed it up with an Elbow Drop for a two count. Moxley ducked a Clothesline and hit a Belly to Back Suplex.

Moxley went for a Suplex but Kojima blocked it. Kojima perched Moxley up on the top turnbuckle and bit the top of his head before hitting a Superplex. Kojima hit a DDT for a near fall before Moxley connected with a Suplex. Jon locked in a submission hold but Kojima got his boot on the bottom rope to break it up.

Jon connected with a forearm to the face and went for the Paradigm Shift but Kojima blocked it with a boot to the midsection. Satoshi hit a Brainbuster and went for the cover but Moxley was able to kick out at two. Moxley hit a Clothesline and applied the Bulldog Choke in the middle of the ring but once again Kojima got his foot on the bottom rope. Kojima went for a Clothesline but Moxley planted him with a DDT. Moxley followed it up with the Paradigm Shift for the pinfall victory. Moxley motioned that Kojima is crazy and bowed to him.

After the match, Minoru Suzuki made his way to the ring to a great reaction. The two started talking trash before trading punches. Moxley was bleeding from his elbow and hit an elbow to Minoru’s face that left blood on him. That fired Suzuki up and locked in the rear naked choke. Suzuki followed it up with the Gotch Style Piledriver and posed over Moxley as the crowd popped. It was later announced that they will face each other on Wednesday’s Dynamite.

Britt Baker Retained The AEW Women’s Title

Britt Baker defended the AEW Women’s Championship against Kris Statlander tonight. Rebel and Jamie Hayter accompanied Britt to the ring and Orange Cassidy was in Statlander’s corner.

Baker went for the Lockjaw early but Statlander was able to escape. Statlander went for a roll-up but Britt retreated to the ropes and the referee broke it up. Statlander held up her finger for a boop and Baker went for the Lockjaw again. Britt went to do the D.M.D. pose but Statlander broke it up and connected with the boop this time. . Statlander hit a boot to the face and made her way to the top rope.

Britt punched her in the face and hit a Neckbreaker before booting Kris out of the ring. Baker stomped on Kris on the apron and then delivered a Suplex in the middle of the ring. Kris battled back with some chops in the corner and a running knee to the face.

Statlander went for a Clothesline but Baker dodged it and hit a Slingblade. Statlander hopped up and planted Baker with a Fisherman’s Buster for a two count. Baker rolled up Statlander and then hit a DDT that spiked Kris on the mat for a near fall. Statlander went for the Big Bang Theory but Britt countered into a roll-up for a two count.

Baker slammed Statlander’s face into the turnbuckle and then made her way to the middle rope. Statlander attacked her and joined the AEW Women’s Champion on the turnbuckle. Kris went for a Superplex and it looked like Britt was about to fall to the side. Statlander showed off her power and somehow still pulled off the Superplex and made her way back to the top rope.

Statlander went for a 450 Splash but Baker got out of the way. Britt went for the Lockjaw but Statlander escaped. Kris lifted Britt up in the Electric Chair and slammed her face first to the mat. Statlander followed it up with a running knee to the face and went for the cover but the champion kicked out at the last moment. Kris went for a Standing Moonsault off the apron but Britt got out of the way. Baker then delivered a stomp off the steel steps and rolled back into the ring. Orange Cassidy fired up Statlander and Kris got back into the ring to break the referee’s count.

Statlander locked in a submission but Britt escaped and hit a boot to the face. Kris fell to the corner and Britt stomped on her several times. Baker connected with the Pittsburgh Sunrise (Panama Sunrise) for a near fall. Britt hit another Stomp and then applied the Lockjaw for the submission victory.

Lucha Bros Captured The Tag Titles In An Incredible Steel Cage Match

Young Bucks defended the AEW Tag Team Championships against Lucha Bros tonight in a Steel Cage match. Matt and Nick Jackson made their up the cage early but Lucha Bros knocked them down with a couple Dropkicks. Fenix hit Nick with a Hurricanrana and then Pentagon Jr. hit a Dropkick on Matt for a two count. Lucha Bros then hit Young Bucks with a couple Superkicks to the face.

Lucha Bros continued to dominate and sent the Young Bucks face first into the steel. Young Bucks battled back and perched Pentagon Jr. on the turnbuckle. Nick hit Fenix with a Double Stomp and then quickly delivered a Backstabber to Penta in the corner. Matt Powerbombed Fenix into the steel as Nick punted Penta’s face on the apron.

Matt went for another Powerbomb but Fenix countered and sent him into the steel. Pentagon planted Nick with a Backbreaker and then Lucha Bros went for some Superkicks but wound up kicking each other. Nick hit a Cutter on Fenix and Matt delivered a Stunner to Pentagon.

Fenix hit a ridiculous double Cutter on the Young Bucks and Penta followed it up with a slam for a two count on Matt Jackson. Fenix climbed to the top rope as the crowd chanted “this is awesome”. Nick hit a rough looking German Suplex to Fenix on the ring apron but Fenix battled back with a Dropkick.

Matt hit a Swanton Bomb on Pentagon for a near fall. Young Bucks hit Fenix with two Superkicks and Nick made his way to the top rope. Young Bucks hit a Meltzer Driver/Senton combo but somehow the Lucha Bros kicked out at two.

Matt Jackson hit both Rey and Pentagon with a low blow as Don Callis cackled on commentary. Young Bucks hit Fenix with a couple Splashes but Pentagon broke up the cover at two. Young Bucks tried to rip off their masks and then launched Fenix into the cage. Cutler threw a bag into the ring and Matt took off his shoe. He then put on a shoe with thumbtacks on the bottom of it. Matt licked the shoe like a psycho and put it on. Matt set up for a Superkick on Fenix but Pentagon slid in the way. Matt hit him with the Superkick and Nick launched Fenix into the cage.

Nick shoved Penta’s face into the sneaker and hit him with a running kick as the crowd booed. Blood poured from Pentagon’s face as Fenix stumbled into the ring. Nick hit him with a Destroyer and Young Bucks followed it up with the BTE Trigger on Penta. They went for the cover but Fenix broke it up at two. Fenix hit Matt with a Hurricanrana and perched him up on the top rope. He bashed the Young Bucks with the thumbtack shoe and hit Matt with a Tiger Driver for a two count.

Penta hit Nick with a Piledriver while Matt delivered one to Fenix at the same time. Matt and Pentagon traded punches in the middle of the ring. They battled to the corner and climbed to the top turnbuckle. Pentagon connected with an avalanche Canadian Destroyer and a thunderous “holy shit!” chant broke out in the NOW Arena.

Young Bucks and Lucha Bros traded chops in the middle of the ring. All four wrestlers were stumbling around and hitting Superkicks on each other until Matt was the last standing. They then all hopped up and hit some more Superkicks and a double Clothesline until all four were back on the mat.

Lucha Bros hit Feat Factor on Matt but Nick broke up the cover at two. Fenix leaped off the top off the cage with a Crossbody. Lucha Bros planted Nick with a Piledriver for the pinfall victory. Lucha Bros are the new Tag Team Champions. The crowd went crazy and gave the Lucha Bros a great reaction.

Ruby Soho Won The Casino Battle Royale

Hikaru Shida, Skye Blue, Emi Sakura, The Bunny, and Abadon started off the Casino Battle Royale. Skye posed for the crowd and Abadon sent her to the apron. Abadon then booted her out of the ring for the elimination. The Bunny eliminated Abadon but got sent to the corner by Sakura.

Anna Jay was the next entrant and traded punches with The Bunny. Anna connected with a kick to Bunny’s face as Kiera Hogan, KiLynn King, Diamante, Nyla Rose then entered the match. Shida eliminated Sakura and Nyla eliminated Hogan. Nyla sent KiLynn King over the top rope as well.

Nyla Powerbombed Hikaru Shida over the top rope for another elimination. Thunder Rosa entered the match and Nyla asked for a timeout. Rosa hit Rose with a Dropkick as Penelope Ford made her way to the ring. Riho and Jamie Hayer entered the match as well. Riho hit a 619 on The Bunny as Big Swole got in the ring.

Hayter eliminated Riho and Big Swole eliminated Diamante with a headbutt. Jamie Hayter threw Big Swole over the top rope and she battled with Diamante on the entrance ramp. Thunder Rosa hit Nyla with a Dropkick and hit another one to Hayter in the corner of the ring.

Tay Conti entered the match and went right after The Bunny. Red Velvet entered the match next and leveled Hayter with a Spear. Jade Cargill, Rebel, Leyla Hirsch entered the match as Penelope tried to eliminate Tay Conti in the corner. Coni escaped and Red Velvet eliminated Rebel. The Bunny and Anna Jay were eliminated and battled outside the ring. Jade Cargill eliminated Leyla by throwing her onto them.

Ruby Soho was revealed to be the joker (final entrant) and got an awesome pop from the crowd. Ruby rushed the ring and went after Jade. Cargill shoved Ruby away but Soho battled back with a kick to the face. Nyla went for a Backbreaker but Ruby escaped.

Jade planted Ruby with a massive slam and Soho crawled to the corner. Tay and Penelope battled in the middle of the ring as Jade eliminated Hayter. Jade eliminated Red Velvet and flexed. Nyla capitalized and sent Cargill over the top rope. Penelope perched Tay on the top turnbuckle and delivered some punches. Tay eliminated Penelope and posed on the apron. Nyla capitalized again and eliminated Tay.

Thunder Rosa, Nyla Rose, and Ruby Soho were the final three wrestlers remaining. Nyla planted Ruby with a Powerbomb and followed it up with a Samoan Drop on Thunder Rosa. Nyla got Ruby in the Tree of Woe but Thunder Rosa sent Rose to the apron. Thunder eliminated Nyla with a Dropkick and it was down to two.

Ruby Soho and Thunder Rosa made their way up in opposite corners of the ring. The crowd chanted for both of them as they started shoving each other. Thunder Rosa and Ruby traded chops in the middle of the ring as the crowd chanted “woo!”. Thunder Rosa hit an uppercut and some more chops. Ruby threw Thunder Rosa to the apron but she held on to the ropes. Thunder Rosa dragged Ruby to the apron and the two traded punches. Ruby hit Thunder Rosa with a knee to the face but she was able to hang on. Ruby hit Thunder Rosa with an overhead kick for the elimination to win the Casino Battle Royale.

Chris Jericho Tapped Out MJF

Chris Jericho faced MJF tonight at All Out. Chris Jericho’s AEW in-ring career would be over if he lost the match. MJF mocked Jericho’s entrance before the match to piss of the crowd.

MJF ripped up some Jericho signs in the crowd before locking up with Le Champion in the middle of the ring. Jericho and MJF traded shoulder tackles but neither would back down. Jericho sent MJF to the canvas but he hopped right up and they traded more punches. Chris went for the Walls of Jericho but MJF countered into a cradle for a two count. MJF connected with a Clothesline and Jericho rolled out of the ring.

Maxwell followed him to the outside and Jericho punched him in the face. Jericho then launched MJF into the barricade and threw a water battle at him. Chris beat MJF up some more in the crowd before the action returned to the ring. MJF took control and connected with a Suplex for a two count.

Jericho hit a Suplex of his own and followed it up with a Running Bulldog. Jericho connected with a Backbreaker and went for the cover but MJF kicked out at two. MJF hit Jericho with a Piledriver on the apron and Jericho fell to the floor. Chris made it back into the ring at 9 got back out of the ring. MJF went for a Moonsault but Jericho got out of the way. Jericho delivered a Pop-Up Powerbomb on the ring apron and the action returned to the ring.

Jericho leaped off the top rope but MJF countered with a Codebreaker for a two count. Jericho battled back with a Lionsault and went for the pin but MJF kicked out. Jericho went for a Hurricanrana off the top rope but MJF countered with a massive Powerbomb for a two count.

MJF and Jericho battled on the turnbuckle. Jericho shoved MJF down and connected with a Codebreaker for another near fall. Wardlow made his way down the entrance ramp but Jake Hager cut him off. Hager and Wardlow traded punches and made their way backstage. MJF grabbed Floyd the bat and hit Jericho in the face with it as referee Aubrey Edwards was distracted. MJF hit Jericho with the Judas Effect and pinned him. Aubrey didn’t realize that Jericho had his boot on the ropes and another referee reversed the decision.

Justin Roberts announced that the match will continue. MJF ducked under the Judas Effect and locked in the Salt of the Earth Armbar. Jericho escaped and applied the Walls of Jericho in the middle of the ring. MJF reached for the ropes but Jericho pulled him back into the middle of the ring. MJF tapped and Jericho’s AEW in-ring career will continue. Jericho celebrated with Inner Circle after the match.

CM Punk Picked Up His First Win In AEW

CM Punk made his return to the ring to face Darby Allin tonight at All Out.

Punk took a seat in the ring and stared at Darby who was in the corner.

The bell rang and they circled each other before locking up in the middle of the ring. Darby sent CM Punk to the mat with an Arm Drag and Punk smirked. Punk went for a Headlock but Darby broke free. CM Punk leveled Darby with a shoulder tackle and Allin retreated to the corner.

Punk and Allin circled each other again before locking up again. Punk applied a Headlock but Allin countered into a Wrist Lock. CM Punk tried to roll through but Darby maintained the hold and rolled up Punk for a one count. Punk popped up and hit Darby with an elbow to the face.

CM Punk connected with a Body Slam for not even a one count and then got Allin back in a Headlock. Darby battled to his feet and leveled Punk with a Clothesline. CM Punk also hit Allin with the GTS but Darby escaped and slid out of the ring to regroup. Allin took his time getting back into the ring and locked up with Punk again.

Allin escaped a Headlock and connected with a big Arm Drag that sent Punk to the corner. Allin sped up his attack and destroyed Punk with a couple of uppercuts in the corner. Punk sent Allin to the corner and Darby took a rough bump off the ring post before crashing to the floor.

Punk brought Darby back into the ring and went for the cover but Allin kicked out. CM Punk locked in a submission hold as the crowd chanted his name. Allin reached the ropes but Punk stomped on the injured back and followed it up with a Suplex for a near fall.

CM Punk went back to work on the injured back with another submission hold in the middle of the ring. Darby battled back with elbows to the midsection but Punk turned him inside out with a running knee to the ribs. Allin tried to battle back but Punk put a stop to that with a Tilt-a-Whirl Backbreaker and then back to the Headlock in the middle of the ring.

Darby escaped again and hit Punk with a Stunner. Allin hit Punk with some strikes and then a Coffin Splash. Allin countered a GTS attempt into a roll-up for a two count. Darby quickly connected with Code Red and went for the cover but Punk kicked out at the last moment.

Allin made his way to the top rope but Punk shoved him and Darby crotched himself on the turnbuckle. Punk went for a Superplex but Allin countered into a Crossbody for a near fall. Punk connected with the GTS but Darby fell through the ropes and to the outside.

Allin made it back into the ring before the count of ten and Punk smirked in the corner. CM Punk said it was over and brought Darby to his feet. Punk hit Allin with some stiff forearms to the face and then a running knee to the face. CM Punk connected with a big Clothesline and motioned that it was time for Darby to go to sleep. Punk lifted Darby up but he just fell to the mat. Punk lifted him up for the GTS but Darby hit Punk with a bunch of elbows to the head.

CM Punk fell to the canvas and rolled to the apron. Punk got out of the ring and Darby hit him with one of those dives CM Punk wanted to avoid. Allin climbed to the top rope and hit a flipping Senton onto Punk outside the ring.

Back in the ring, Allin climbed to the top rope and motioned it was time for Punk to go to sleep. Darby went for the Coffin Drop but Punk sat up and laughed. Punk went for the GTS but Allin countered with a cover for a two count. Punk hit a leg lariat and followed it up with the GTS for the pinfall victory.

Sting made his way to the ring after the match. Sting shook CM Punk’s hand and then they helped Darby up. Punk and Darby Allin then shook hands after the match.

Paul Wight def. QT Marshall

QT Marshall faced Paul Wight tonight at All Out. The Factory (Aaron Solo & Nick Comoroto) accompanied Marshall to the ring. Wight knocked The Factory out of the ring and hit QT with a headbutt. Paul hit QT with a big chop to the chest and Marshall stumbled to the corner. The crowd wanted another chop and Paul delivered one that echoed throughout the NOW Arena. QT hit a Dropkick and some punches to Wight’s face. Marshall hit another Dropkick but Paul kicked out so hard that QT flew out of the ring. QT went for a Cutter but Paul just threw him away. Wight hit a Back Body Drop and then hit Solo with a chop to the chest. Paul hit Comoroto with a shoulder tackle and followed it up with a Chokeslam to QT for the pinfall victory.

Omega Retained, Adam Cole & Bryan Danielson Made Their AEW Debut

Kenny Omega defended the AEW Championship against Christian Cage in the main event of All Out. Omega went for the V-Trigger but Cage dodged it. Christian went for the Killswitch but Omega blocked it. Kenny hit a Hurricanrana then sent Cage out of the ring. Omega went for a Dropkick but Cage got out of the way and hit Kenny with some chops to the chest.

Christian launched Kenny into the barricade a couple times before getting back into the ring. Cage climbed to the top rope and hit Kenny with a Splash outside the ring. The AEW Champion battled back and sent Cage flying into the steel steps. Don Callis distracted the referee and Omega out a table on top of Christian. Omega delivered a Double Stomp on top of the table and then set up another table outside the ring. Kenny tried to Suplex Christian through the table but he countered with a Suplex of his own on the floor.

Omega went for a Dropkick but Cage held onto the ropes and the champion fell to the floor. Kenny hit a Clothesline and raked Cage’s eyes before applying a Headlock. Kenny shoved his boot in Cage’s face in the corner and planted him with a Belly to Back Suplex for a two count.

Kenny shoved Christian off the top turnbuckle and to the floor outside the ring. Omega went for a Moonsault off the barricade but slipped. Kenny thankfully landed on his feet and made a joke of it. Omega then connected with the Moonsault off the barricade and rolled Cage back into the ring. Kenny went for the cover but Christian kicked out at two.

Omega launched Cage into the turnbuckle and followed it up with an Ushigoroshi for a near fall. Kenny made his way to the top rope but Christian tripped him up. Cage connected with a Hurricanrana and both men fell to the mat. Christian and Omega traded punches in the middle of the ring.

Kenny went for the One Winged Angel but Cage escaped and unloaded a flurry of punches to the champion’s face in the corner. Christian went for a Cloverleaf submission but Omega booted him away. Cage planted Omega with a reverse DDT and went for the cover but Omega kicked out at two.

Omega lured Christian in and hit him with a knee to the face. Christian hopped to the middle turnbuckle and connected with a Tornado DDT for a two count. Cage set up behind Omega and went for the Killswitch but Kenny blocked it. Omega booted Christian in the face and hit a V-Trigger against the turnbuckle.

Kenny connected with a Snap Dragon Suplex and started talking to the camera. Omega connected with another Snap Dragon Suplex and sat up with a grin on his face. Omega pointed at Cage and Christian gave him the middle finger. Omega hit a third Snap Dragon Suplex and followed it up with a V-Trigger that knocked Cage to the apron.

Omega choked Cage against the bottom rope and booted him in the midsection a few times. Kenny went for a German Suplex through the table but Christian held onto the ring ropes. Kenny then set up for a Snap Dragon but Cage hit an elbow to the face. Omega went for the One Winged Angel but Cage broke free and hit a Spear off the apron and through the table. Don Callis took off his jacket and started fanning the champion after the move.

The action returned to the ring and Christian hit two more Spears but Omega somehow kicked out at two. Cage went for a Frog Splash but Omega got his knees up. Omega tried to lift Cage up but grabbed his back in pain after going through the table. Kenny went for a V-Trigger but Cage blocked it. Omega then hit two massive V-Triggers and Christian fell to the mat. Omega went for the Tiger Driver but Cage countered into the Cloverleaf submission as Don Callis waved for someone.

Karl Anderson rushed the ring and Cage kneed him in the face. Omega went for the V-Trigger but accidentally hit Luke Gallows. Omega raked Cage’s eyes and hit him with the One Winged Angel off the top rope for the pinfall victory. Kenny Omega is still the AEW Champion. The Elite made their way to the ring after the match and celebrated with Kenny Omega.

The Elite started beating down Christian and Jurassic Express rushed the ring. The numbers game caught up to them and The Elite beat them down as well. AEW Champion Kenny Omega grabbed a microphone and claimed that nobody was on his level. Omega added that it doesn’t matter where he goes, the only people that would ever have a chance to beat him are not here, retired, or already dead.

The lights went out and Adam Cole’s theme hit. Adam was sporting an “All Elite BayBay” and made his way to the ring. Cole got into the ring and posed as the crowd chanted “Adam Cole BayBay!” and then “holy shit!”. Adam Cole hit Jungle Boy with a Superkick and did a group hug with The Elite in the ring as the crowd booed. Young Bucks gave Cole a smooch on the face and Omega said Adam was one of his best friends. Cole announced that The Elite is the most dominant faction in the history of his business and there is no chance anyone is going to stop them.

Bryan Danielson then joined the party and the crowd went insane. Danielson got into the ring and stood with Christian Cage, Jurassic Express across from The Elite. A brawl broke out and Kenny Omega retreated out of the ring. Danielson planted Nick Jackson with a German Suplex and followed it up with the Running Knee. Bryan Danielson then posed as the crowd chanted “AEW!”.

Adam Cole Joins The Elite, Bryan Danielson Debuts At AEW All Out

Bryan Danielson, also known as Daniel Bryan from his time in WWE, and Adam Cole are now All Elite! 

It happened after the AEW All Out pay-per-view event headliner where Kenny Omega beat Christian Cage to retain the World Title. Post-match, Omega and The Elite beat down Cage and Lucha Express.

Cole super kicked Jungle Boy and hugged The Elite. Cole said The Elite is the most dominant faction in the business and there’s no chance in hell that anyone is going to stop them. This led to Danielson coming out to stand with the babyfaces. A brawl broke out with the babyfaces standing tall to end the show. 

Danielson was originally going to debut at AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam in New York City on September 23rd. However, there had been a growing concern about the spread of COVID-19. A mask mandate was issued for fans at this upcoming event in addition to fans needing to show proof of vaccination.

Danielson finished up his WWE commitments when he was banished from SmackDown earlier this year. In July, it was reported the former WWE star had indeed signed with All Elite Wrestling. 

Cole became a free agent at the end of August after his short-term extension with WWE expired. He was last seen when he lost to Kyle O’Reilly at NXT TakeOver 36. Cole opted not to sign a new deal. All Elite Wrestling appeared to be his likely landing spot. That turned out to be the case.

Kenny Omega Retains AEW World Title At All Out

AEW World Heavyweight Champion Kenny Omega made his latest defense of the title against Christian Cage at Sunday’s All Out pay-per-view event. 

The match, which was the main event, had a hard start as the crowd was dead early on. Omega hit a moonsault off the barricade. There was a spot where Cage hit a spear off the apron through the table. There was some outside interference by Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows. Omega hit the one winged angel from the top rope for the win.

Cage is currently number one in the AEW World Title rankings and was mentioned as a potential contender for Omega’s title in the weeks leading up to the announcement of this match. However, AEW went in an interesting direction to get to this point. 

This was actually their second match as Cage beat Omega on the first match in Rampage history to win the Impact Wrestling World Heavyweight Title back on August 14th. 

Many fans thought AEW was heading in a very different direction with Adam Page challenging Omega for the AEW World Heavyweight Title at this show. That thought process went away when Page and The Dark Order lost a six-man match on the July 28th edition of Dynamite to Omega and AEW World Tag Team Champions The Young Bucks. The stipulations that went along with that match was if the babyfaces won then they would get title matches.

The plan was always for Page to take some family time off in advance of his first child being born.

CM Punk Beats Darby Allin In His First Match Since 2014 At AEW All Out

For the past seven years, fans had waited to see CM Punk back inside of a wrestling ring and that happened so they only had to wait a few more weeks to see him wrestle again, which happened when he took on Darby Allin. 

The match was not the main event of the AEW All Out pay-per-view event. Punk wore long tights instead of traditional trunks. 

It was a really slow start and then things started to pick up. Punk used a lot of submissions to slow things down and tell spots. Allin was Irish whipped into the ring post. Punk hit the GTS, but Allin went through the ropes. Punk, Sting, and Allin stood to an ovation after the match. 

In the past, it was openly talked about by both Punk and AEW executives that there had been interest by AEW President Tony Khan about bringing in Punk a few years ago. However, Punk felt like they never really made him an offer. He had been open about returning to pro wrestling if the right deal was offered to him and it turns out AEW made that offer. 

Last year, the former WWE Champion started having conversations with Khan and reached an understanding as far back as late last year. Punk has confirmed that he knew he would be coming into the promotion while filming Starz’s “Heels” program. 

Punk made his promotional debut on the August 21st edition of Rampage and issued a challenge to Allin for this bout. His previous match came in January 2014 in the Men’s Royal Rumble Match.

Chris Jericho Keeps His Wrestling Career Alive With AEW All Out Victory

Chris Jericho battled MJF once again in a match, but this time, he put his career on the line at the AEW All Out pay-per-view event in Chicago, IL. If Jericho had lost then his in-ring wrestling career would’ve been over. 

However, as expected, that didn’t happen as Jericho won the match. MJF had Jericho’s old countdown titantron. Jericho had a guitar player do his entrance song.  The match started slowly. MJF with Judas Effect and pinned Jericho, who had his leg on the bottom rope. The match was restarted. Jericho with the walls to win the match. 

On the August 25th edition of Dynamite, Jericho cut a promo about how he couldn’t end the feud between him and MJF without getting a win. He pitched the All Out match with the stipulation that if he could not beat MJF, he would no longer wrestle for AEW. MJF came out and accepted the match.

The week before, MJF submitted Jericho with an armbar in what was billed as the fifth labour of Jericho. Leading up to their previous match, they had been the leaders of two different stables with MJF leading The Pinnacle and Jericho leading The Inner Circle. 

In May, both teams worked a Blood and Guts match that saw The Pinnacle win as  The Inner Circle surrendered after MJF threatened to throw Jericho off the cage. After the match, MJF threw Jericho off the cage anyway.

Ruby Soho (Ruby Riott) Makes AEW Debut At All Out

Ruby Soho, formerly known as Ruby Riott from her time in WWE, has arrived in AEW. AEW decided to book a women’s battle royal at the All Out pay-per-view event in Chicago, IL at the NOW Arena. Soho was revealed as the joker in the match to decide who would get the next title shot in the women’s division. 

The other competitors in the match included Big Swole, The Bunny, Thunder Rosa, Red Velvet, Tay Conti, Penelope Ford, Diamante, Nyla Rose, Hikaru Shida, Emi Sakura, Jade Cargill, Kiera Hogan, Abadon, Kilynn King, Lelya Hirsch, Rebel, Jami Hayter, Anna Jay, Riho, and Skye Blue. Soho made it to the final two with Rosa and ended up winning the match in her first night. 

Ruby was released by WWE a few months ago alongside other talent due to budget cuts. She became a free agent on Tuesday, August 31 when her 90-day non-compete clause with WWE expired.

After she was let go by WWE, she had kept a low profile and hadn’t done a ton of interviews. At the time, it was reported that one promoter reached out and was told Ruby wasn’t taking bookings, which was an indication she had plans to sign with a bigger promotion. 

The move to AEW was expected as back on August 4th it was reported by Fightful  that Ruby was expected to make her way to All Elite Wrestling and that’s what ended up happening.

Lucha Bros Win AEW Tag Team Titles At All Out

AEW Tag Team Champions The Young Bucks made their latest title defense against the Lucha Bros at the AEW All Out pay-per-view event in Chicago, IL at the NOW Arena. 

The steel cage match saw a chaotic pace. Various spots into the fence were done. Nick hit a cutter to Fenix then Matt hit a stunner off the top rope to Penta. Moments later, Fenix hit a double cutter to Matt. Moments later, Matt put on a shoe that had thumbtacks on the bottom of it so he could superkick Penta. Fenix with a crossbody off the top of the cage. Luchas hit a tag team move for the win. 

This was a rematch from All Out 2019 where Penta and Fenix won by beating the Young Bucks in an Escalera De La Muerte ladder match for the AAA Tag Team Titles.

The Lucha Bros won the AEW World Tag title eliminator tournament on the August 27th edition of Rampage by beating Jurassic Express. Before that, Penta and Fenix beat Private Party in the opening round to advance to the finals. 

The Young Bucks previously defended the titles on pay-per-view against Chris Jericho and MJF at the AEW Revolution event this past March and Jon Moxley and Eddie Kingston at Double or Nothing. 

Last November, the Bucks won the tag team titles from FTR at the AEW Full Gear pay-per-view event last November. 

Time will tell whether AEW continues this feud or goes in a different direction heading into Wednesday’s Dynamite.

Britt Baker Keeps AEW Women’s Title In All Out Defense

Kris Statlander was the latest wrestler in the women’s division to step up to challenge Britt Baker for the AEW Women’s Title. 

It happened at the AEW All Out pay-per-view event in Chicago, IL at the NOW Arena. The match saw both ladies get an equal amount of offense in and seemed to go through quick spots early. They nearly botched a suplex off the top rope. 

Baker hit the Pittsburgh Sunrise then the stomp for a near fall. Baker won with the locked jaw. 

Statlander had been out of action for nearly 10 months thanks to a knee injury, but returned this past April. To get this title shot, she racked up a sixteen-match winning streak in AEW in singles matches. 

Baker won the title at the Double or Nothing PPV on May 30, where she ended Hikaru Shida’s title reign of over a year. 

Many fans were hoping to see Baker wrestle Thunder Rosa at this show, but they will have to wait until 2022 to see the much-anticipated rematch. 

It was recently reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the plan is to build up for a major match in early 2022 although it was not said if this will be on pay-per-view or on a special episode of Dynamite.

Their first match took place a few months ago during the bloody unsanctioned main event match on an episode of Dynamite.

Miro Keeps TNT Title At AEW All Out

Eddie Kingston was the latest challenger to step up to TNT Champion Miro. 

As seen at Sunday’s AEW All Out pay-per-view event, Miro went over to retain the title. The match saw Kingston bring the fight to him early with chops. However, things turned around for Miro when he caught Kingston off the apron and hit a slam to the floor. Kingston fought back until Miro went for his submission finisher and Kingston got to the ropes. Miro got the win with a superkick.

All Elite Wrestling made this match official on the August 28th edition of Rampage as Miro was attacking Fuego Del Sol when Kingston ran out to make the save. They had a brief pull-apart to set up the bout for All Out. 

Miro became the TNT Champion when he beat Darby Allin on AEW Dynamite on May 28th. Since that time, he has beat Dante Martin, Lance Archer, Evil Uno, Brian Pillman Jr., Lee Johnson and Fuego Del Sol in successful title defenses. 

The previous time that Kingston had been in a title match was when he and Jon Moxley fell short to The Young Bucks with the Tag Team Titles on the line during the July 7th edition of Dynamite.

Rick Boogs Reveals How He Got Vince McMahon’s Attention

Rick Boogs has revealed how he made his way to WWE.

Boogs has quickly found himself in a prominent role on WWE TV. He accompanies Intercontinental Champion Shinsuke Nakamura to the ring while playing his theme song on an electric guitar. Many have been impressed by Boogs’ in-ring work the past couple of weeks.

Speaking to Corey Graves on WWE’s After The Bell podcast, Boogs revealed how he grabbed the attention of Vince McMahon.

“You know what it was? I think it was the first day I was at SmackDown, and Bruce Prichard was like, and I don’t know why they were looking at an Old Spice commercial, and apparently, Vince watched it, and he’s like, ‘Call the guy up’, just from the character work alone. This is what I heard.

“Then they had to figure out what to do with me because they were like, ‘Well what does he do?’ ‘I don’t know.’ ‘Is he on NXT?’ ‘No.’ They went on my Instagram, and you know what it was? I did this video where I did a lunge. I was playing The Trooper on the guitar. Bruce said that Vince was going to love that because he loves lifting weights. I guess that was it. ‘Oh, he can play The Trooper while he’s lunging 340 pounds so let’s have him bust out Shin’s tune live in front of millions of people.”

Rick Boogs is coming off a victory over Dolph Ziggler on the Sept. 3 edition of Friday Night SmackDown.

CM Punk Wants To Team With Bryan Danielson To Face The Young Bucks

CM Punk is adding fuel to the fire.

Bryan Danielson reportedly signed a deal with AEW. Bodyslam.net was the first to report the news and claimed the initial plan was to have him debut on the Sept. 22 Dynamite show in New York City. He has since updated the report, claiming Bryan’s debut has now been bumped up to the All Out PPV on Sept. 5.

Danielson has mostly remained silent since his last WWE appearance at WrestleMania but CM Punk has been dropping hints. During an appearance on Renee Paquette’s Oral Sessions podcast, Punk expressed interest in teaming with Bryan Danielson to take on The Young Bucks.

“I wanna wrestle the Young Bucks. I’ve gotta find the right tag partner for that. I mean, if we’re fantasy booking, it’s…when does this come out? Saturday? Okay…I don’t think it’s necessarily giving away spoilers, it’s just me putting my booker hat on,”

“Of all the possibilities, I would do CM Punk and The American Dragon vs. The Young Bucks. It’s so obvious that’s what you do.”

As of now, Matt and Nick Jackson are the AEW Tag Team Champions. That could change tonight as they will defend their gold inside a steel cage at All Out.
