NXT Star Removed From Title Match Due To Injury

0

NXT star Jessi Kamea who was set for a title match during the latest episode of the Black and Yellow brand was pulled from the show due to an injury.

The female star was set to team up with Aliyah to challenge the NXT women’s tag team champions Ember Moon and Shotzi Blackheart for their titles on the show.

However, the company announced that Kamea will be replaced by Mercedes Martinez before the show. They posted a video of Robert Stone offering Mercedes an envelope of money to return to his brand for the match.

Stone also mentioned that the female star who was originally slotted for the bout has suffered an injury while training. Since she was still talking about the bout as of Sunday, it’s believed that Jessi was injured sometime this week.

The match then saw the champions retaining their title after Ember Moon took out Aliyah with an Eclipse and pinned her to pick up the victory for her team.

There is no word yet on how serious Jessi Kamea’s injury is or if she will be missing any significant amount of time. We will keep you posted on any further updates on her health.

Karrion Kross vs. Oney Lorcan/Tag Team Titles Update

The NXT Tag Team Titles have been declared vacant as Danny Burch suffered a separated shoulder last week while defending them with Oney Lorcan against Karrion Kross and NXT Champion Finn Balor.

On this show, WWE gave an update on the titles by noting MSK vs. Grizzled Young Veterans vs. Legado del Fantasma will take place at NXT TakeOver: Stand and Deliver to crown new champions.

Kross also battled Lorcan in a singles match. This was set up by Lorcan blaming Kross for the injury and Lorcan told Regal to give him a match against Kross. As expected, Kross dominated the majority of it. WWE did give Oney a moment of offense, but Kross put an end to it with the forearm shot.

Balor is defending his NXT Championship against Kross at TakeOver: Stand & Deliver night two on Thursday, April 8. Post-match, Balor came out for a promo where he said that Kross showed him his weakness last week. Kross fights with emotions while he doesn’t.

LA Knight vs. Bronson Reed

pjimage 2021 03 24T162436.449

LA Knight vs. Bronson Reed in a singles match took place.

This match was set up by a message that was sent to NXT General Manager William Regal. On Tuesday night, it happened as Knight posted a video telling Regal that he wants a match against Reed, which led to Reed responding to it and agreeing to the match.

The two have been feuding as of late and this was Knight’s second match in NXT as last week’s episode, Knight made his NXT in-ring debut by defeating August Grey. During it, Reed came out with Knight’s jacket and ripped it.

The match didn’t last long as Reed went over with a splash off the top rope. It was an interesting decision since Knight just made his debut.

Non-Title Match

pjimage 2021 03 24T162432.842

NXT Cruiserweight Champion Jordan Devlin vs. Kushida in a non-title match took place. This match was booked after Kushida answered an open challenge that was issued by Devlin.

Of course,  Devlin and Santos Escobar are facing off in a title unification match as they are both listed as the Cruiserweight Champion at TakeOver: Stand & Deliver night two on Thursday, April 8.

The match served as the main event of the show. Devlin got him with a quick roll-up. A very fun match. Post-match, Devlin, and Santos had a staredown. Shawn Michaels walked out to the ring and pulled out a ladder. Thus, it will be a ladder match at TakeOver.

WALTER Smashes

pjimage 2021 03 24T162439.529

NXT UK Champion WALTER vs. Drake Maverick in a non-title match was booked.

WALTER returned to NXT for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic began last week to lay out Tommaso Ciampa.

On Tuesday, WWE released a video of Maverick looking for Killian Dain and barged into Imperium’s locker room questioning them. This led to WALTER taking out a weapon of the hands of Maverick and asked who he thought he was. The top NXT UK Champion told Marcel Barthel and Fabian Aichner that he’ll take care of the problem with Maverick on Wednesday’s NXT.

The match was very short as WALTER hit a few strikes, a powerslam and that was a wrap. Post-match, Ciampa came out and said that the NXT UK Title intrigues him. He challenged WALTER to a title match at TakeOver. WALTER was about to walk out, but a brawl and beatdown happened with WALTER standing tall.

Title Match

pjimage 2021 03 24T162442.677

Shotzi Blackheart & Ember Moon made their first defense of the NXT Women’s Tag Team titles against The Robert Stone Brand’s Aliyah & Mercedes Martinez. Originally, Jessi Kamea was supposed to be part of this match, but was pulled due to injury.

The match was short yet fun with Aliyah taking the pinfall.

Two weeks ago, Blackheart & Moon defeated Dakota Kai & Raquel Gonzalez to become the second-ever NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions. This came after Kai & Gonzalez were awarded the newly created NXT Women’s Tag Team Titles.

Tag Team Match

pjimage 2021 03 24T162445.230

Dakota Kai & Raquel Gonzalez vs. NXT Women’s Champion Io Shirai & Zoey Stark in a tag team bout took place.

This match started the show. It was a solid back and forth affair. Starks sold through the majority of the bout. Raquel hit her finisher to Starks for the win. Post-match, Raquel slammed Io onto the announce table.

Just two weeks ago, Shotzi Blackheart & Ember Moon defeated Kai & Gonzalez to become the second-ever NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions. Kai & Gonzalez were awarded the newly created NXT Women’s Tag Team Titles on this same show, but that didn’t last for long.

Kai & Gonzalez became the champs as they were the winners of the inaugural Women’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic by defeating Blackheart & Moon in the finals of the tournament. Shirai defends her NXT Women’s Championship against Gonzalez at NXT TakeOver: Stand & Deliver.

Please Appear In Regal’s Presence

pjimage 2021 03 24T162448.500

William Regal was demanding that Adam Cole and Kyle O’Reilly appear so he could talk with them. Last week, Regal said he had a solution to Cole and O’Reilly’s problems as there was an angle on NXT where police got involved after O’Reilly tried to run Cole off the road.

Regal was out with security to have Kyle and Cole sign a contract for the second night of TakeOver. The match will see NXT not be accountable for the damage that they suffer. Both men signed it.

Cole cut a promo about how Kyle lost sight of what Undisputed Era was all about. It wasn’t about friendship, but rather success and Kyle tried to win the NXT Title, which is his. Cole said he was the one who is in that spot, sold the merch, and the leader of UE. He said without him, Kyle is nothing.

Kyle said that they will always have heat with the locker room because of their past actions. He said that he has grown up and moved past the BS. Kyle said he sold his sold for UE and he wants it back. He said Cole used his best friends to get to where he is and he’s not surprised. Kyle said that no one will be surprised when he beats Cole. They had to be separated by security to end the show.

Omega and Sydal locked up in the middle of the ring to start off the match. Sydal took control and Omega rolled out of the ring to regroup. Omega got back in the ring and locked up with Sydal once again.

Kenny booted Sydal in the midsection and beat Sydal down for a couple minutes. Sydal battled back and planted Omega with a Brainbuster for a near fall. Tony Schiavone Interviewed Britt Baker

Tony Schiavone interviewed Britt Baker on the entrance ramp tonight. Baker complained about the audience’s reaction to her after what she went through last week. Britt stated that Thunder Rosa should be thanking her because she will forever be remembered because of her. Baker wondered why everyone was talking about her if Thunder Rosa put the women’s division on the map. Britt brought up Mick Foley giving her a thumbs up and boasted about becoming a hardcore legend in one night while it took Foley twenty years. Baker said that Tony Khan is out looking for legends to bring to AEW while he already has one here.

Christian Cage Will Have His First Match Next Week

Frankie Kazarian confronted Christian Cage backstage and wondered when the “work” will start for Christian in his slogan “out work everyone”. Christian told Frankie that the work starts next week and challenged him to a match. Frankie accepted and told him to come watch his match on Elevation on Monday night because 7 years is a long time to be out of the ring.

The Pinnacle Picked Up A Win

Dante Martin & Varsity Blondes faced The Pinnacle’s FTR & Shawn Spears tonight on Dynamite. Spears and Griff Garrison started off the action. Garrison leveled Spears and Harwood with a Spear and Pinnacle regrouped outside the ring as Dynamite went to a commercial break.

When Dynamite returned, Harwood planted Dante with a Brainbuster and tagged in Cash Wheeler. Cash quickly tagged in Spears as Harwood knocked Pillman Jr. off the ring apron. Spears quickly connected with the C4 (Death Valley Driver) on Dante for the pinfall victory. After the match, Wardlow hit Pillman Jr. with a knee to the face and rolled him out of the ring as the crowd chanted “you suck!”.

Tony Schiavone hopped into the ring and Wheeler ripped the microphone away from him. Wheeler claimed that The Pinnacle is family and he will die for every single one of them. Harwood brought up Santana & Ortiz and that there isn’t a grain of salt in their body. Dax added that this is a professional wrestling company, not an SNL skit like Inner Circle was trying to make it.

MJF joked that he thought Jericho was going to come out here and “break the walls down” but all he is breaking these days are the chairs he tries to sit on. Tony interrupted and said Inner Circle is obviously hurt because The Pinnacle destroyed them a couple weeks ago. MJF announced he had a gift for The Pinnacle next week because when you are in The Pinnacle, you are always on top.

QT Marshall Challenged Cody

QT Marshall was interviewed by Tony Schiavone and claimed that he has done as much work as Tony Khan. QT added that he has to stay up all night working for Cody Rhodes while his wife sleeps alone at home. Marshall said he wanted an exhibition match against Cody Rhodes. Cody interrupted and accepted the match. Rhodes added that Arn Anderson will be the special referee. Cody added that he is not going to hurt QT Marshall that he has become a friend. Rhodes added that QT might be his best friend and shook QT’s hand.

Young Bucks Turned Down Kenny Omega

AEW Tag Team Champions The Young Bucks & Brandon Cutler faced The Lucha Bros & Laredo Kid tonight on Dynamite in a Trios Match. Nick Jackson and Rey Fenix started off the match. Nick missed with a Dropkick and then had a stare down with Fenix.

Matt Jackson and Pentagon Jr. then tagged in. Matt booted Pentagon in the midsection but Penta responded with a kick to the face. Matt went for an Arm Drag but Penta rolled him up for a two count.

Matt applied a Sharpshooter but Pentagon Jr. got to the ropes. Laredo Kid and Brandon Cutler tagged in and traded shots in the middle of the ring. Laredo Kid sent Cutler out of the ring as Fenix planted Young Bucks with an Arm Drag. Pentagon Jr. flipped onto everyone as Cutler hit an elbow to Fenix’s face. Cutler flipped onto everyone and then Laredo Kid connected with a Moonsault.

When Dynamite returned from a break, Penta hit a Double Stomp and Fenix followed it up with a Senton but Cutler & Matt broke it up at two. Nick unloaded some kicks and sent Fenix to the ropes. Rey connected with a kick to the face of his own but turned around into a massive Clothesline from Nick Jackson.

Young Bucks with Laredo Kid with Risky Business and Cutler followed it up with an Elbow Drop. Nick hit Penta with a Senton and then Young Bucks hit the Indie Taker on Laredo Kid. Fenix hit Nick with a scary looking DDT on the ring apron. Laredo Kid then hit Cutler with a slam for the victory.

After the match, AEW Champion Kenny Omega rushed the ring and attacked Laredo Kid. Omega asked Young Bucks what happened to them and pointed out that he chose to come with Young Bucks to AEW to make this the best wrestling promotion on the planet. Omega added that Young Bucks chose Brandon Cutler and never chose Kenny back. Omega said he will give Young Bucks one more chance and threw up the “too sweet” sign.

Kenny told them to toss it up for the hard cam and that it is now or never. Young Bucks and Cutler left the ring and Omega taunted Brandon by calling him the Young Bucks’ camera man. Lucha Bros then attacked Omega as Callis pleaded with Young Bucks to help. Matt and Nick walked backstage as Callis hid behind the referee as Lucha Bros exited. Good Brothers eventually made their way to the ring with Callis to help Kenny up.

Moxley & Kingston Warned Good Brothers & Kenny Omega

Eddie Kingston and Jon Moxley cut a backstage promo. Kingston pointed out that he has a broken “something” in his foot and vowed to get revenge. Moxley asked Good Brothers if they are willing to take it as far as them and get blood under their fingernails. Moxley noted that he guesses he owes the Young Bucks one for helping them out last week. Jon added that if Young Bucks want to get in the game against Good Brothers & Omega, they better be willing to get their hands dirty.

Tay Conti def. Nyla Rose

Tay Conti faced Nyla Rose tonight. Vickie Guerrero was ringside for the match. Nyla stomped Tay down to the canvas and then planted her with a Body Slam. Conti battled back and applied an Armbar. Rose broke free and went for a Splash but Tay got out of the way. Conti hit a couple Arm Drags and went for a knee strike but Nyala was ready.

Rose connected with a Powerbomb and went for the cover but Conti was able to kick out at two. Rose kicked out of a roll-up and leveled Tay with a Clothesline. Rose hung up Conti across the top rope and climbed to the top turnbuckle. Nyla hit the Knee Drop and went for the cover but Conti somehow kicked out at two as Dynamite went to a commercial break.

When Dynamite returned, Nyla went for another Powerbomb but Conti escaped. Tay hit a couple kicks to Nyla’s leg but Rose shrugged them off. Tay caught her with a kick to the side of the head and sent Rose to the corner. Conti then planted Nyla with a DDT for the pinfall victory.

Conti tried to celebrate her victory but Vickie tripped her up. Nyla went for a Powerbomb but AEW Women’s Champion Hikaru Shida rushed the ring and hit Rose with a kendo stick. Allie (The Bunny) then attacked Shida as Matt Hardy, Butcher, and Blade watched on. Matt Hardy said his client, The Bunny, has been overlooked for far too long and that ends now. Conti & Shida will face Rose & The Bunny next week.

Darby Allin Retained

John Silver and Darby Allin locked up to begin the action. Dark Order was ringside for the match. Silver controlled the action early and beat Darby down as Dynamite went to a break. Sting was on the entrance ramp when Dynamite returned and Silver hit a DDT for a two count. Silver threw Allin out of the ring and Dark Order surrounded him but backed away once Sting started approaching.

Back in the ring, Silver rolled up Darby but the TNT Champion was able to kick out at two. Silver locked in the Queen Slayer but Allin escaped and hit an elbow to the face. Silver shrugged it off and perched Darby up on the top turnbuckle. Silver went for a Superplex but Allin blocked it.

Darby hit a Coffin Drop onto Dark Order and got back into the ring. John Silver set up for a Powerbomb but Darby countered into Code Red for the pinfall victory. Darby Allin is still TNT Champion. After the match, Matt Hardy attacked Darby Allin and his clients attacked Dark Order. Allin battled back as Dynamite went off the air.

This is when Cage told him that he would wrestle next week, but didn’t have an opponent.

This led to Kaz offering to fill that role and the match was booked. This will be Cage’s first singles bout since his retirement years ago. Kaz told him to check out Monday’s AEW Dark: Elevation as he has a match set for the show. It’s possible Cage could appear on that program to further build this upcoming match.

0

Heading into Wednesday’s AEW dynamite,  Brandi Rhodes stated that she had a surprise to share on the show. It led to the reveal that she and Cody Rhodes have a reality TV show coming to TNT. No word yet on when the show will premiere.

Their show is titled ‘Rhodes To The Top. As seen below, a promotional video shows footage of Cody and Brandi outside the ring with fellow AEW talents, Dustin Rhodes sitting with AEW President Tony Khan in Gorilla Position and more.

Each 30-minute episode of Rhodes To The Top will take viewers inside the lives of Cody and Brandi as they navigate their growing family while building AEW’s global wrestling empire.

Sam Linsky, Co-Head of Scripted for TBS, TNT and truTV, says, “I’ve witnessed firsthand the passion and dedication that Cody and Brandi put into every facet  of their life and know how much that plays an instrumental role in the success and expansion of AEW. Now the world will get  an inside look at how they balance their personal wrestling careers, their training center, and  their executive roles at AEW as they venture into one of the most intimidating chapters of life, parenthood.”

Cody & Brandi Comment

“Since the late 1960s, the Rhodes family has been in one spotlight or another,” said Cody and Brandi Rhodes. “People think they know us, but this show is the first true look behind the  curtain and beyond the ring. They’ll see us fail and succeed, but most importantly, they’ll see  us bet on ourselves as we travel the Rhodes to the top.”

“I’m thrilled to expand AEW’s relationship with WarnerMedia and TNT, and Rhodes To The Top will represent a new outlet in which our fans can further connect with characters they already love, and new viewers can discover these personalities for the first time,” said Tony Khan,  Founder, CEO, GM & Head of Creative of AEW. “With our flagship show Dynamite and now Rhodes To The Top, in addition to our third hour of wrestling programming coming to TNT later  this year, 2021 will be a historic year for AEW and our partnership with WarnerMedia.”

AEW Sent A Ring To Sting’s House Ahead Of His Return

0

Sting signed with AEW in December and as soon as the ink had dried on the contract, he started looking at the possibility of a return to the ring at some point.

It happened when he worked his first match since 2015 where he teamed with Darby Allin to battle Ricky Starks & Brian Cage in a cinematic street fight at AEW Revolution.

Speaking to The Doctor Chris Mueller of Bleacher Report, Sting looked back on his comeback. He noted that after being away from the ring for five years, he had to knock the dust off.

“Tony Khan asked me if I wanted a ring sent to my house and thankfully, I have a barn that is insulated with climate control. We put the ring in there, and I had to get used to running the ropes again, and it was an eye-opener for me. It was a challenge. I didn’t recover as quick as I used to. It was grueling. I had a lot of work to get my cardio ready to go and get into good physical condition. It was tougher than it’s ever been but I got there.”

He noted that it’s hard for him to not plug himself in creatively on certain aspects as he would speak up and give his take, but praised Allin for having a mind for the wrestling business and cinematography.

Sting also talked about the experience of filming a cinematic match.

“The cinematic was fun. I would like to do more of those for sure, but I came out of it in shambles. It took its toll on me. It was two nights of filming and that was pretty tough. It can be taxing on the body especially at my age. It was 12 hours instead of being in the ring for 30-40 minutes. I love filming. I have done movies and TV, and I always have fun with that stuff. The tough part was all of the hours and the recovery time.”

There’s no word yet on when Sting plans to work another match under the AEW banner.

AEW Announces Date For Their First-Ever House Show

0

On Wednesday night before AEW Dynamite went live on TNT, AEW President Tony Khan came out for his usual promo to thank the fans for attending the show and reminding them not to swear. He also made an interesting announcement.

Khan told the fans in attendance about plans for their first house show. This is where he informed them that the promotion will be running a house show at Daily’s Place in Jacksonville, FL on April 9.

Interestingly enough, this live event will be taking place during the same week as WrestleMania 37, which just so happens to be in Tampa. Thus, for those fans planning to attend WrestleMania, they can come see AEW in person if they drive 3 hours to Jacksonville. Tickets go on-sale this Monday.

As it stands right now, there’s no word yet on which wrestlers will be appearing at the house show. AEW will air a live Dynamite on April 7th then tape the following week’s episode that Thursday and then run the house show. Thus, if fans really wanted to see a ton of AEW action, they have the chance to witness three straight nights of it.

Jim Ross has stated in the past that AEW did have plans to start running house shows last year but those plans were delayed because of the pandemic.

Peacock Removing Controversial Content From WWE Network

0

You will not be able to find Roddy Piper’s WrestleMania VI match against Bad News Brown on Peacock’s version of the WWE Network. As the Peacock streaming service has been uploading content from the WWE Network, it has been removing controversial content such as Piper’s appearance at WrestleMania that year.

Other edits have been made as well. These include a 2005 segment at the Survivor Series where Vince McMahon used the N-word and Booker T wanted someone to tell him Vince didn’t just say that.

https://twitter.com/davidbix/status/1374754236672708615

Why Did Roddy Piper Paint Half His Body Black at WrestleMania VI?

Piper painted half his body black for his match against Brown at WM6. In 2012, Piper spoke to The Score about this decision.

“I’m looking at Bad News, who was a really good judo player and just a so-so professional wrestler, and here’s what’s going through my mind. I’m looking at him and I’m going, ‘I’m going to have 45 interviews about this guy.’ And I’m thinking Nelson Mandela at that time had said something that really stuck with me,” Piper said during the interview.

“Nelson Mandela was put in jail for 20-some years for political crimes. Every morning, he was the first man when the guard came to extend his hand to the guard. What a hell of a man. At the same time, Cindi Lauper had ‘True Colors’ out. In my mind, what I was trying to do — there is no difference. I needed material on Bad News Brown. I did something where I sang ‘True Colors’ and I did a thing about Nelson Mandela. But, they don’t seem to remember that.”

Stephanie McMahon: “I Have Been The Only Woman In Very Large Male-Dominated Meetings”

0

Stephanie McMahon recently took part in an interview with The Cosmopolitan to speak about women’s history month and being a woman in a male-dominated industry.

“I have been the only woman in very large groups of male-dominated meetings,” Stephanie said during the interview. “Growing up in this business, I have the advantage of being the boss’s daughter but there have certainly been times where I have felt like my voice didn’t matter as much. And in those situations, you just have to speak louder. You have to grab the moment because you cannot let it intimidate you. If you have a point that you want to make, make it. Call it out when you’re not being listened to.”

Stephanie was asked about what her biggest challenge in WWE has been, and she said it was facing Ronda Rousey in the ring.

“My biggest challenge was facing Ronda Rousey at Wrestle Mania. She was so amazing that I had to really train to even showcase her. She was the first woman champion in UFC, so she was tough. I had to train three times a day for three months. I had to do all of this on top of being an executive and a mom. It was a lot of pressure on me, but I learnt so much about myself and what I was capable of. That opportunity was a privilege which I chose to go for. That was one of my biggest challenges ever.”

Stephanie also mentioned during the interview that she loves playing the role of the heel.

“I have always gravitated towards the villains in any story. I find them to be deeper, more interesting characters. The persona I had created was an outlet for me. I have always drawn from people around me. I tend to be trusting and respectful because of which I’ve been taken advantage of all my life. I’ve had a lot of times when I have been undermined, so I draw from those people and I put that lens on. And it has been so fun to portray that character because ultimately, the bad guy never really wins. So, to be able to give that back to the audience is amazing. I love to be able to give the hero that moment because the bigger the villain, the more powerful is the hero that vanquishes the villain.”

Karl Anderson faced Eddie Edwards in the main event this week. The finish of the match came when Doc Gallows caused a distraction from the ring apron and then hit Edwards in the head with a chair as the ref was out of position. This allowed Anderson to hit a spine buster and pick up the win.

After the match, Finjuice appeared on the big screen from Japan. They were both in the recent New Japan Cup, with Finlay making it to the semi-finals. They took a few shots at the former champions before the show went off the air previewing their title match at Rebellion.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r78hAf3sehY

Ace Austin retained his X-Division Championship this week against the former champion TJP but only because he lost via disqualification. The finish of the match came when TJP hit a Detonation Kick then the Mamba Splash and appeared to have the match won. Madman Fulton ran in and broke up the pin, however, saving the title for Austin.

After the match, Josh Alexander made the save and prevented Austin and Fulton from delivering a post-match attack on TJP.

Sami Callihan Saves Trey Miguel?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5MfaGK9PTcY

Trey Miguel picked up a win over Acey Romero this week after delivering a top-rope meteora. Larry D then attacked Trey after the match but surprisingly, Sami Callihan made the save. Callihan has been berating Trey for weeks and neither Matt Striker nor D’Lo Brown could make sense of why he prevented Team XXXL’s attack.

Deonna Purrazzo Defeats Jazz With Help From Susan’s Shoe

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nptzhcr52VA

Jazz had a chance to put herself in a position to challenge for the Knockouts title this week when she faced the champion in non-title action. Purrazzo had Susan with her at ringside, however, and that would prove to be the difference here.

The finish of the match came when Susan helped Purrazzo by putting her foot on the bottom rope to break up a pin attempt. This led to Jordynne Grace charging at Susan but missing and hitting the ring post. Jazz then reached through the ring ropes to grab at Susan but the former Su Yung then hit her with a shoe. This allowed Purrazzo to roll up Jazz and get the 3-count.

Swinger’s Palace Returns

“White Meat Babyface” Johnny Swinger has his own casino now. Swinger’s Palace was back this week on Impact. There appears to be some sketchiness with the casino’s business dealings, however. Alisha Edwards, John E Bravo, and others appeared in a promo ad for the casino this week. Swinger got the money to open the casino when he acquired a roll of cash that had been bouncing back and forth between Hernandez, Fallah Bah, and a few others.

Matt Cardona Challenges Brian Myers To A Match

Cardona and Brian Myers are long-time friends and tag partners. Myers does not seem happy that Cardona signed with Impact after he did, however. Cardona took part in a sit-down interview this week and challenged his podcast co-host to a match.

Rohit Raju Uses A Handful Of Trunks To Gain The Victory

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hhT6QYGDFes

Backstage before this match, Rohit Raju was harping on Fallah Bah for having lost all of his money at Swinger’s Palace. It looked as though Fallah was going to get a measure of revenge on Raju in this match but ultimately it would be the former Desi Hit Squad member who would pick up the win. The finish of the match came when Raju used a crucifix pinning combination with a handful of trunks to get the win.

Mustafa Ali Says His PCL Tear Will Not Require Surgery

0

WWE Superstar Mustafa Ali is currently dealing with a knee injury.

During a Twitter Q&A session earlier this month, the former Retribution leader revealed that he tore his PCL. He called the situation incredibly frustrating.

On Tuesday, he provided an update on his condition. Although PCL tears often require surgery, Mustafa Ali says he does not foresee going under the knife any time soon.

He wrote, “To clear some confusion, I am not getting surgery in the foreseeable future. I’ll be okay”

Ali has been feuding with United States Champion Riddle in recent weeks.

WWE Superstars commonly wrestle through injuries. However, doing so involves the risk of further aggravation. Ali wrestles a high-flying style and a bad knee can seriously limit one’s mobility.

We do not know how badly Ali’s PCL is damaged, but full reconstruction typically requires 9-12 months of recovery time. This is a layoff any wrestler would try to avoid if possible.

Tessa Blanchard Spotted Training With Sasha Banks & Bayley

0

Tessa Blanchard, Sasha Banks, Bayley, and Kalisto were all training at the Hybrid School of Wrestling in San Antonio recently. Sho Funaki, Jazz, and Rodney Mack have helped train several wrestlers while instructing there. Chris Marvel owns the school.

The school recently took to Twitter to post a photo with Sasha Banks, Bayley, Kalisto, Hybrid school trainees, and Tessa Blanchard.

Funaki offered his thanks to the visiting WWE instructors as well:

Blanchard’s last official wrestling match came at Warrior Wrestling in September. She dropped the promotion’s women’s title to Kylie Rae. She departed Impact Wrestling last summer. Her last set of tapings with Impact was in March of 2020.

Blanchard and Daga will be running a seminar from the Hybrid School of Wrestling this Saturday.

Hybrid School of Wrestling

Madi Wrenkowski, who has made multiple appearances on AEW Dark lately, was trained at the school in 2019. She spoke to Spectrum News 1 about the experience of training with Jazz.

“To be here and like watch her on TV – and I was scared of her growing up, I was,” Wrenkowski said. “Then to have her, like right there, like telling me what to do. Just seeing her intensity in the ring is like so crazy.”

In the same interview, Jazz spoke about her experience training students such as Wrenkowski.

“Just watching the girls just grow, each match they are getting better and better. It’s like seeing your child grow up and develop,” Jazz said.

Molly Holly On Why She Declined Position At WWE Performance Center

0

Former women’s champion Molly Holly has been announced as an inductee for the WWE Hall Of Fame class of 2021 and she is expected to be inducted during the ceremony on the WrestleMania weekend.

The former WWE star recently had an interview with the Talkin’ Sass podcast where she talked about a number of things and opened up about her career.

During the interview, Holly revealed that she was offered a coaching position at WWE Performance Center but she explained why she declined the job:

“Yes they have [asked me to coach at the Performance Center] and I just don’t want to. It sounds terrible but I’m just — I’m so far removed from that world. I don’t want to be this like grizzled, bitter, jaded trainer who is like, I don’t know.

They need to have trainers who are passionate about pro wrestling, who love the psychology of it because you can meet certain people on the indies or people who used to work for WWE or people who do work for WWE and they just light up when their creative juices are going.”

The future Hall Of Famer said that even though she might have had the skills or experience as a trainer back in the day; she is not in the place where she feels excited about that kind of job now.

Molly Holly is a former 2 times women’s champion and she is going to be inducted into the Hall Of Fame alongside Eric Bischoff and possibly RVD.

Britt Baker On Which WWE Stars Reached Out To Her After Unsanctioned Match

0

Britt Baker and Thunder Rosa made history when they competed in the unsanctioned lights out match during the March 17 episode of AEW Dynamite.

Many wrestling personalities from past and present have praised the bout publically since then and it appears many WWE superstars appreciated it as well.

During her recent interview on the Oral Sessions podcast, Baker talked about the bout and revealed which WWE stars reached out to her after the match:

“Drew McIntyre messaged me… I was really excited about that. There were so many people that just sent like a nice – like Trent Seven, who is I think is one of the funniest people on the planet, messaged me.

I had a nice message exchange… with the other role model in wrestling, Bayley, one of my favorites,” said Britt Baker, “I literally am a fan girl for her. That was really cool. Oh, Candice LeRae, who helped train me and was like a hardcore legend in her indie days.”

The AEW star also got a message from the hardcore legend Mick Foley himself and she revealed that they talked about more than just the match:

“Mick Foley loved it. Very complimentary of the match. We’re also in talks about, when the pandemic’s not so crazy, we’re gonna get him hooked up with fixing his teeth.”

Apart from this, Britt Baker talked about being nervous before her unsanctioned match, the women’s division of AEW, going to dental school and more.

Latest On WWE Moving NXT To Tuesdays After WrestleMania

0

WWE is planning to move NXT to Tuesday nights after WrestleMania 37, effectively ending the Wednesday night wars with AEW.

According to PWInsider which previously confirmed that they have an episode scheduled for Tuesday, April 13 has now provided some more update on the situation. The WWE production schedule for the month of April now “lists WWE NXT for Tuesdays every week post WrestleMania weekend.”

This means that the first NXT episode on Tuesday will be aired on April 13 after WrestleMania 37 and the show will be a regular for Tuesday nights afterwards.

The move will put Impact Wrestling against the show and we can expect AXS TV to shift Impact to Thursdays so it remains unopposed.

NXT Moving To Tuesdays

The night 1 of the TakeOver: Stand & Deliver is currently scheduled to air on USA Network on April 7. Night two will then be broadcasted on the WWE Network.

If these listings are accurate, then it will mean that the upcoming Takeover event will be the final NXT show to be broadcasted on Wednesday nights before the change of schedule.

The change will mean that AEW Dynamite will not have any wrestling show competing against it on Wednesdays after the Show Of Shows. So it will be interesting to see how it affects the brand’s ratings.

Sabu: “WWE Hall Of Fame Is The Fakest Ever”

0

With WrestleMania 37 being just around the corner, the talks about Hall Of Fame are picking up as well and former WWE star Sabu has shared some interesting thoughts on the same.

The ECW original recently had an interview with The NWC Show where he talked about things such as today’s wrestling being too scripted and more.

During the interview, Sabu revealed his thoughts on the WWE Hall Of Fame, and the former ECW world champion called it the ‘fakest Hall Of Fame’:

“You know, I talk bad about the Hall of Fame because I think it’s a fake Hall of Fame, but I would do it because it’d be a good payoff, you know? So, I’d do it for the payoff, but I might ‘motherf–ker!’ when I do the speech, if I did a speech, I might ‘motherf–ker!’ it. I might,”

“I think the WWE Hall of Fame is the fakest Hall of Fame there is.” said Sabu, “I mean, they don’t honor wrestlers, they just try to [induct] who can sell tickets. Tickets are the next thing.”

The former ECW star isn’t the only wrestling name to have dissed the Hall Of Fame publically and Scott Steiner has also previously shared a similar opinion saying that it only exists in Vince McMahon’s mind.

During the same interview, Sabu provided a big spoiler for the upcoming Hall Of Fame as well, revealing a potential inductee for the 2021 class. You can check out his comments on the matter here.

Reason For WWE Removing Charlotte Flair From WrestleMania Graphics

0

The removal of Charlotte Flair from the WrestleMania 37 promotional graphic has been a topic of discussion among fans making them wonder if there is some tension between her and WWE.

PWInsider has now provided some update on the situation and the site notes that the former champion has been removed from the advertising as a precautionary measure in case she is not cleared in time to return.

For those who don’t know, Flair herself revealed on Monday that she has tested positive for coronavirus. Though the word is that she had tested positive before this week and it’s the reason why she has been absent from recent Raw episodes.

WWE Hall Of Famer Ric Flair also took on his Twitter to comment on the situation, indicating that the Queen will be missing the Show Of Shows this year.

Her fiancé Andrade however, recently suggested on Twitter that the female star might be cleared to return in a few days so there is still a chance that Charlotte would return to the company before the big event:

WWE has announced that Rhea Ripley will be challenging Asuka for the Raw women’s championship at the upcoming WrestleMania 37 event, a spot that was originally rumored for Charlotte.

If she does end up returning before the big event, it’s likely that the company will alter this bout in some way, possibly making it a triple threat for the title.

RVD Slated For WWE Hall Of Fame, According To Sabu

0

ECW legend and former world champion RVD will apparently be going into Hall Of Fame this year, according to his friend and fellow ECW original Sabu.

Sabu recently had an interview with The NWC Show where he talked about a number of different things and also shared his opinion on the WWE Hall Of Fame.

During the interview, he also made some interesting claims saying that RVD is going to be inducted into the Hall Of Fame during the WrestleMania 37 weekend:

“Hey, Rob Van Dam is getting into the Hall of Fame this year, I think. I wasn’t supposed to say nothing but you can tell people that. Exclusive, right,”

RVD’s WWE career started in 2001, a few months after the closure of ECW. He went on to have a successful WWE career, winning over half a dozen titles in the company before his release in 2007.

The hardcore star returned to the company for a year-long run in 2013. He has made several sporadic appearances since then. The former champion has also been working with the company recently for a WWE Icons episode based on him.

If this news is true, then RVD will be joining Molly Holly and Eric Bischoff in the 2021 class of Hall Of Fame and they will be inducted alongside the 2020 class during the upcoming WrestleMania weekend.
