Karl Anderson Says Randy Orton Texted Him About TalknShopaMania 2

0

Good Brother and co-host of the Talk n’ Shop podcast Karl Anderson recently touted the success of the TalknShopaMania 2 show. Whilst the PPV was successful, it didn’t draw as big a buyrate as the first one, leading Machine Gun to (jokingly?) say that they now don’t have to do a third show.

Karl Anderson on TalknShopaMania 2

“It’s kind of like The Matrix. You don’t expect it to be that good then all of a sudden it makes 100 million dollars” Anderson began on the podcast. TalknShopaMania 2 was successful right but it wasn’t as successful as the first one.”

TalknShopaMania 2 had some interesting names on the card. Scott Steiner, Shane “Hurricane” Helms, Teddy Long, Gangrel, Heath. As well as JTG, Brian Myers, The Rock N’ Roll Express, Taya Valkyrie, and Mark Jindrak were among them. The main event for the show was a ‘Ball For A Ball Match’ between Sex Ferguson and Chad 2 Badd.

“Not a blockbuster, but it still did well” Karl Anderson would continue, before saying how it got rave reviews from some big names. “And it got rave reviews as well; as in like Randy Orton texted us and said ‘dude blew part one away, oh my god, amazing.’ Scott d’Amore pulled us aside at work (IMPACT Wrestling) last week and said, ‘guys I watched it from start to finish, it’s so much better than the first one. It’s unbelievable. You should be proud!’ That kind of stuff.”

Karl Anderson would then state that the group (Gallows, Rocky Romero and Anderson) now don’t need to make another PPV with the TalknShop name. “Machine Gun’s thought on this? It was good, I loved it. It wasn’t as successful as the first one, which means we don’t have to do a third one now. Thank God it’s over.”

Both Chris Bey & Moose Are Coming For Rich Swann’s World Championship

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JD0MfQe0_Qw

There is no shortage of contenders gunning for Rich Swann’s world championship. Chris Bey has the next shot upcoming at Final Resolution but Moose’s shot will likely come not long after that. Bey failed to pick up any momentum heading into his title shot as he dropped this week’s main event to Swann’s former tag partner, Willie Mack. After the match, Moose came out and delivered a spear to Mack which brought Swann out for the save. Swann took out Moose but then Bey delivered a springboard cutter on the champion. Bey then held the title over his head and stood strong to end the show.

Jordynne Grace & Jazz Advance In Knockouts Title Tournament

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1OpgPiDwdPo

The Knockouts title tournament continued this week. Renee Michelle and Killer Kelly gave a strong performance but in the end, it was Jazz who was able to pick up the victory for her team after giving a facebuster to Michelle.

The win means that Grace and Jazz will move on to face Havok & Nevaeh in the semi-finals. The final 1st round match in the tournament will take place next week when Taya Valkyrie & Rosemary take on Deonna Purrazzo & Kimber Lee.

James Mitchell Has Possession Of Su Yung

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xdBrGiViL44

Deonna Purrazzo and Kimber Lee enlisted the help of James Mitchell last week. The two noted that they would have a much easier time dealing with Susie rather than Su Yung and asked the Sinister Minister this week if he could turn her back into her less threatening persona. Mitchell agreed but needed Purrazzo and Kimber Lee to lure Su Yung out of hiding. Purrazzo then cut a promo that brought out Yung and then Mitchell came out and unleashed an army of undead brides against her.

Su fought back but just as she was going to give Purrazzo the poison mist, the Virtuoso grabbed her by the neck and forced the poison mist down her throat, seemingly paralyzing her in the process. Then she gave Yung the “Cosa Nostra” piledriver for good measure. The undead brides then walked out with Yung in their arms.

It’s Eric Young and Joe Doering’s World

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qDDVetXlvcg

Eric Young and Joe Doering continued their reign of terror this week. They interfered in the Cody Deaner vs Johnny Swinger match causing it to be thrown out. Young then cut a promo saying that their actions would continue until everyone’s “eyes are open.” He continued to say that this world belongs to them several times before the segment ended.

Later in the show, Deaner was upset in the back that Young interfered in his match. He talked about how Young was a pivotal figure in the early part of his career and he wants to show him that he’s not “nothing.” A match between the two was then scheduled for next week.

Rohit Raju Retains Again

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_2iajUaY6vc

Rohit Raju once again found away to retain his title this week. After dropping a non-title match to Crazzy Steve under a Suicide mask last week, a title match between Steve and Raju was scheduled for this week.

With the title on the line, Raju once again resorted to under-handed tactics to retain. He grabbed the middle rope during a pinning combination for extra leverage and got the 3-count.

The Motor City Machine Guns Have A Path To The Tag Team Championships

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=REeMmJu_qhA

This week’s episode kicked off with tag-team action as the Motor City Machine Guns picked up a win over Team XXXL. During the match, it was noted on commentary that MCMG have a path to the championship and it starts with Team XXXL. They’d pick up the win with a neckbreaker/top-rope splash combo.

Josh Matthews then noted that next up on MCMG’s path to the championships is the North.

KENTA Continues ‘Wednesday’ Teases Ahead of Winter Is Coming

0

New Japan Pro Wrestling star KENTA continues to drop hints about Wednesday nights. Ahead of tonight’s AEW Winter is Coming event, he tweeted:

KENTA has been calling out AEW World Champion Jon Moxley in recent weeks. In addition to holding AEW’s top prize, Moxley is also the reigning IWGP United States Champion. KENTA wants that title and is tired of waiting for Jon Moxley’s return to Japan.

NJPW’s biggest show of the year, Wrestle Kingdom, is just over one month away. Unfortunately for KENTA, AEW President Tony Khan stated this week that Jon Moxley won’t be there. This puts KENTA in a predicament and it sounds like he’s getting fed up waiting around for his title shot. He recently noted that he’s busy Wednesday nights and also does not care for the Khan family’s Jacksonville Jaguars NFL team.

Opinion: Tony Khan has expressed interest in working with NJPW. He’s teased a few big surprises still to come in 2020 – the proverbial “aces up his sleeve.”

Will KENTA walk through the “forbidden door” tonight at Winter is Coming? His teases are getting a little heavy-handed at this point. However, if he does show up, it will be a shocking moment that delivers on AEW’s hype that Winter is Coming will be the biggest Dynamite in history.

Booker T On His Favorite Part Of Undertaker’s Final Farewell

0

Booker T was one of the legends who were brought in for Undertaker’s Final Farewell segment at this year’s edition of the Survivor Series PPV.

The former WCW Champion talked about his experience on the show and the legacy of the Dead Man in detail on the latest episode of his Hall Of Fame podcast.

Revealing his favourite moment of the segment which had many layers, Booker T picked out the spot where Undertaker paid tribute to the late Paul Bearer:

“That guy was a legendary figure in the business. He really– people need to do their research and go in-depth, and really understand what Paul Bearer really did to the business. He wasn’t just a character.

He was a guy that contributed more in so many ways behind the scenes than one would know… To appreciate it and give Paul those props, it was awesome.” said Booker T, “That was the best part of the whole thing for me, was having Paul Bearer just there with the urn. It just made me feel good.”

The wrestling veteran also gave his thoughts on the highly debated topic of whether it was the real send-off for Taker or we will see the Dead Man in the ring again in future.

Booker T claimed that he thinks the segment was his real send off, mentioning how he’s coming off the Boneyard match at WrestleMania 36 which will be really hard for anyone to top, including Taker himself.

Chris Jericho Reacts To NXT Beating AEW Dynamite In TV Ratings

0

‘The Demogod’ Chris Jericho has reacted to NXT beating last week’s episode of AEW Dynamite in TV ratings and reminded people that they still came out ahead in the important demo.

The former AEW World Champion took on his Twitter to react to the latest TV rating of both the shows and he wrote: “It’s all about the Demo daddy. #wewinagain”

Week 59 of the Wednesday Night Wars between AEW and WWE saw NXT defeat Dynamite in overall viewership during the Thanksgiving eve episodes of the shows.

NXT managed to garner an average of 712,000 viewers on the USA Network while Dynamite was only slightly behind with 710,000 viewers on TNT.

Dynamite came out ahead when it comes to the 18-49 demo which is considered to be the most important demo for advertising. It ranked #7 in the Cable Top 150 for it while NXT ranked at #25.

However, AEW’s weekly show still saw a significant 16% drop in overall viewership from last week’s episode of the show which had garnered 850,000 viewers.

On the other hand, NXT recorded a jump of 12% from last week’s episode of the show which had only gotten 638,000 viewers.

Backstage News On The Segment Between Randy Orton And Bray Wyatt On Raw

0

The opening segment for this week’s episode of Raw turned a lot of heads and the segment featuring Randy Orton, Alexa Bliss and ‘The Fiend’ Bray Wyatt got a lot of people talking.

Dave Meltzer talked about the segment on the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio and he claimed that WWE intends to book Wyatt and Bliss as the babyfaces in their feud with the former world champion.

He noted that while the duo has not shown any glimpse of being faces on Raw, the officials believe that Randy ‘is the master heel’ and the Viper will help his opponents complete this turn slowly over the next few weeks.

On an interesting note, PWinsider is reporting that Vince McMahon was behind this segment and the whole thing is 100% a product of the Boss’ vision.

The site also claims that several people had even argued against this spot. The feeling was that it was a weak opening segment for the show which needed to be overhauled but their objections were obviously overruled.

The opening segment of Raw saw Alexa Bliss holding her “A Moment of Bliss” show with Randy Orton as a guest. During the segment, Orton suggested that Alexa is The Fiend’s vulnerability.

The lights then went out and Wyatt appeared in the ring but the female star was seen in Randy’s arms. The Fiend begged Orton to hand Bliss back to him which he did. The segment ended with Randy Orton leaving the ring:

Backstage News On The Current Creative Flow In WWE, Bruce Prichard’s Position

0

Bruce Prichard has become one of the most powerful people backstage in WWE after the removal of Paul Heyman from the creative team, according to latest reports.

According to reports from PWinsider, the current creative direction of the company falls under the Chairman Of The Boards Vince McMahon and Executive Director Bruce Prichard.

This makes the former WWE manager an important figure backstage and some people have even described him as the ‘most powerful person’ in the company right now after the members of the McMahon family.

Everything is said to be flowing through Prichard when it comes to the creative recently and the former Brother Love’s word is said to be “very much the gospel” for Mr McMahon.

Though this power also seems to have its side effects as the report says that Bruce Prichard’s position has led to a lot of frustration and heat towards him among wrestlers, at least privately.

Bruce Prichard returned to WWE in 2018. He took over the duties of the Executive Director of SmackDown in October last year, after the departure of Eric Bischoff.

Following Paul Heyman’s removal as the head of Raw’s creative team in June this year, it was reported that Bruce Prichard will be leading the creative teams for both the brands, making him one of the most powerful persons in the company.

AEW Trios Championships ‘On The Agenda’ for 2021

0

All Elite Wrestling is considering introducing a new set of championship titles next year. AEW President Tony Khan commented on these plans during Tuesday’s Winter is Coming Media Briefing. Khan said he is considering AEW Trios Championships and that it’s “on the agenda” for the future.

AEW currently has four sanctioned championships, including:

  • AEW World Championship (held by Jon Moxley)
  • TNT Championship (held by Darby Allin)
  • AEW Women’s Championship (held by Hikaru Shida)
  • World Tag Team Championships (held by the Young Bucks)

In addition to these belts, there are multiple unsanctioned titles in the AEW universe, including the Brian Cage’s FTW Championship and Serena Deeb’s NWA Women’s Championship. There’s also MJF’s Dynamite Diamond Ring, which is up for grabs this week at Winter is Coming.

Fans have been speculating about AEW trios championships over the past few months. AEW has no shortage of 3-man teams, with a dozen teams that could contend for trios belts.

  • The Elite
  • Best Friends & Orange Cassidy
  • Jurassic Express
  • Death Triangle
  • Eddie Kingston, The Butcher & The Blade
  • Team Taz
  • The Dark Order
  • SCU
  • The Nightmare Family
  • The Inner Circle
  • Hardy Party (Matt Hardy & Private Party)
  • FTR & Shawn Spears

Discussion: Should AEW create Trios Championships?

Tony Khan AEW Winter Is Coming Media Briefing Recap

0

AEW President Tony Khan hosted a media briefing on Tuesday afternoon to promote Wednesday’s Winter is Coming edition of AEW Dynamite. The following are highlights from thee call:

  • AEW plans to continue with the special-themed episodes of Dynamite. Khan has enjoyed formatting the show, which will be structured more like a pay-per-view.
  • The main event of Winter is Coming between Jon Moxley and Kenny Omega will have a 60 minute time limit. TNT will allow them to run past 10pm ET if needed and they have “big things planned.”
  • When asked about Brodie Lee’s status, Khan said he can’t comment why he’s been off television, but hopes he’s back soon. He touted the Exalted One as one of the best wrestlers on the entire roster.
  • Khan was asked about AEW signing so many wrestlers, and how long they can continue adding people before they have to start cutting others. Since we are in a pandemic, cuts “could have and should have been made” – but he’s not let anybody go. It’s hard getting work on the independent scene and he has gone the extra mile to make sure people were protected.
  • AEW Dark has become a valuable property for AEW. In recent months, the format has grown to accommodate many more matches each week. Khan thinks they are seriously considering breaking it up into two shows: one for developmental stars and one for more established talent. Several AEW stars started out on Dark, including “Powerhouse” Will Hobbs. He’s more interested in developing talent than cutting people.
  • Jon Moxley vs. Kenny Omega is a huge match, so why is it taking place on cable television instead of headlining the next AEW PPV? Dynamite is the lifeblood of AEW and he wanted to have a PPV-caliber match on the show to close out 2020. Revenue from their TV deal is the lifeblood of AEW and he thinks its important to keep that in mind. He gushed about Moxley’s role as AEW World Champion and the face of the company. Omega has also been one of their biggest attractions and it’s going to be a big deal when they square off this wee. They plan to continue featuring major league matches on Dynamite, since that is their main platform for revenue and viewership.
  • He’s learned so much after running AEW for a year and a half. He learned a lot about working with talent, writing and producing television and dealing with television executives. He has not had to fire people yet, but says that’s business and never fun.
  • Khan spoke about what goes into writing television, the pacing, and how live shows differ from their taped episodes. Sometimes he’ll go back and see an episode of Dynamite from a year ago and questions what he was thinking – which shows him how much he’s learned along the way. AEW does a lot of longterm booking, but also has to write fresh television every week and it’s interesting ho that all comes together.
  • Jon Moxley will not be working NJPW WrestleKingdom in January.
  • AEW is considering introducing Trios Championships in 2021. It’s definitely something on the agenda.
  • Tony Khan has never seen the show Game of Thrones, but liked the title “Winter is Coming” because it feels epic. He actually learned of the phrase from his mother, who is a big GoT fan. AEW’s affiliation with TNT & WarnerMedia allowed them to use the name.
  • In addition to Winter is Coming, AEW is planning big shows for Christmas, New Year’s and then Beach Break in January.
  • A lot of AEW talent comes up with their own character ideas, while Khan also has some input. He worked directly with Kenny Omega on this new version of his Cleaner persona. Britt Baker’s Waiting Room segment was Cody Rhodes’ idea. The Young Bucks and Kenny have come up with ideas for other talents.

AEW Winter is Coming takes place live Wednesday night on TNT.

Titus O’Neil Donates More Than 100K To Charity

0

Thaddeus Bullard, better known to wrestling fans as Titus O’Neil, is one of the most charitable people to ever be in the wrestling industry. Today is “Giving Tuesday,” held the Tuesday after American Thanksgiving every year. It is a day where people are encouraged to donate to charities rather than spend their money on Black Friday or Cyber Monday sales.

Titus O’Neil and his Bullard Family Foundation have donated $127,500 to four different charities today.

A $100,000 donation was given to Metropolitan Ministries. This charity is based out of O’Neil’s hometown of Tampa Bay and helps at-risk populations and people experiencing homelessness in the region. The charity also provides meals for more than 40,000 families during the holiday season.

10K was also donated to Florida Sheriff Youths Ranches. Another 10K donation was made to the Machen Florida Opportunity Scholars Program from the University of Florida. Finally, O’Neil also donated $7500 to the MANNA FoodBank.

“I chose these four charities because their impact goes beyond just a donation. They invest in families so that they can change generations,” O’Neil said regarding the donations.

Batista opted to post the following photo of him with Titus to help support the foundation:

Titus O’Neil’s inspiring story is available to read in book form. It can be purchased from Amazon here.

Rhea Ripley Opens Up About Her Mental Health Journey

0

NXT Superstar Rhea Ripley has talked about the relief she felt after opening up about her mental health issues. Ripley first did so last year as a guest on Lilian Garcia’s podcast, Chasing Glory. Now, one year later, she has reflected on how being open and honest with herself has helped her.

“It feels like a weight that’s been lifted off my shoulders. Just like talking about it as well which is nice,” Ripley said. “I’m very glad that the conversation went that way cause like you said there is a lot of bullying and suicides especially like in the sport and it’s really, really sad. Like I always see posts coming up every now and then of like someone new that has passed away and it makes me really mad and sad cause like like they could have help…”

Garcia noted how Ripley’s disclosure came a week after Toni Storm’s similar confession. Despite having been friends for almost a decade, however, neither woman knew the other was suffering the way they were. They have since spoken to each other and now support one another, especially as they are so far from their home country of Australia.

“[…] it’s very lonely here at times so I’m glad that she’s now here and we can help each other out,” Ripley said, “especially knowing each other’s stories like now, so yeah.”

“Communication Is Key”

Talking about her mental health issues has helped Rhea Ripley learn a lot about herself. She reflected on how she used to bottle things up growing up. Ripley refused to tell anyone about how she was feeling, leading her to feel as though she would “snap and absolutely lose my mind and it would create fights with my friends, with my parents with other family members and it wasn’t fun.”

She acknowledged she has since matured and now understands that “communication is key.” Ripley explained how giving voice to your issues helps in letting them go. She confessed it’s been a long journey to come to that realization, but she finally understands it.

Rhea Ripley addressed her NXT status during last week’s episode. She will be a part of Team Shotzi versus Team Candice at NXT TakeOver: WarGames.

NXT TakeOver: WarGames takes place on December 6th from NXT’s Capitol Wrestling Center in Orlando, FL.

Booker T Reflects On The Undertaker’s ‘Final Farewell’ At Survivor Series

0

WWE Hall of Famer Booker T has reflected on his appearance during The Undertaker’s ‘Final Farewell’ at Survivor Series. He talked about the farewell segment during his Hall of Fame podcast.

Booker T was one of several Superstars and Hall of Famers who came to the ring to honor “The Dead Man.”

However, none of them were given the opportunity to talk about The Undertaker or his career. Although some found their muted inclusion to be odd, Booker T sees no problem in how it was presented. He argued that the moment wasn’t for them at all, it was for The Undertaker.

“I look at it a little bit different. We were just there to be there for that moment, for the Undertaker. That moment wasn’t for us to—it was for the Undertaker,” Booker T said. “It was for him, it was his moment. Anything we would’ve said could’ve overshadowed what he said because we know the Undertaker and he was never a guy that was going to talk a whole lot.”

He then joked about how the last thing fans want is to give a microphone to a “bunch of old wrestlers.” Booker T then confessed that being asked to be out there meant a lot to him and that he got emotional.

He then acknowledged how there should have been thousands of cheering fans in attendance to say goodbye to “The Phenom.”

Out of everything with how ‘Taker’s ‘Final Farewell’ went, the lack of an audience is the thing that bothered him the most.

Sami Zayn Pushed Hard To Be Paired With Liv Morgan on WWE TV

0

Current WWE Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn has revealed he “pitched hard” to have himself partnered with Riott Squad member Liv Morgan.

Zayn shared the news in a tweet, commenting on the recent WWE Network documentary focusing on Liv Morgan, Liv Forever.

He shared how much he enjoyed the documentary before noting how he wanted to be a part of his gimmick when he first started the “The Great Liberator” character. Zayn also accompanied the tweet with a short clip of Morgan sneezing on him as he walked by.

“I pitched hard to get @YaOnlyLivvOnce with me, but she got drafted to Raw. There is SO much to her. Can’t wait to see her one day become Womens Champ.”

As Sami Zayn highlighted, Morgan would end up drafted to Monday Night Raw at the time. She was involved in the controversial Lana and Bobby Lashley wedding storyline. She went on to rejoin her former Riott Squad partner Ruby Riott. The reformed duo would eventually be moved back to SmackDown following the 2020 WWE Draft. She was recently a part of Team SmackDown during WWE’s recent Survivor Series pay-per-view.

Zayn, meanwhile, recently faced off against Daniel Bryan during last week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown. He successfully defended his Intercontinental Champion against “The Planet’s Champion,” defeating Bryan via count-out.

Young Bucks Explain How A Shaquille O’Neal Appearance Benefits AEW

0

The Young Bucks have discussed why Shaquille O’Neal appearing in AEW would be so beneficial for the promotion. Matt and Nick Jackson broached the topic during an interview with WrestleZone while promoting their new book, Young Bucks: Killing The Business From Backyards To The Big Leagues.

Nick Jackson explained how he’s all for the NBA star to crossover into AEW. He stressed how Shaq’s involvement would undoubtedly “[…] get more eyeballs on our product and that’s definitely a way to get the fans that probably wouldn’t watch AEW Dynamite.”

He noted how Shaquille O’Neal is a celebrity who has a lot of fans outside of wrestling. Nick argued how those fans could gravitate to AEW if he were to appear on the show in some capacity.

Nick then shared how Shaq was actually backstage at AEW Full Gear in November. According to Nick, Shaq stood up and gave them a standing ovation following The Young Bucks’ bout against FTR.

AEW hinted that Shaquille O’Neal could be bound for the promotion a few weeks ago. Jade Cargill interrupted Cody Rhodes during a promo and mentioned his name. For what it’s worth, Shaq has expressed his interest in wrestling Cody in the past.

Since this initial tease, however, AEW has not provided any further hints that Shaq could be involved with the promotion.

Young Bucks: Killing The Business From Backyards To The Big Leagues is available now at Amazon.com and other book retailers.

Update On Charges & Allegations Against Alberto Del Rio

0

As of this writing, Alberto Del Rio is still scheduled to go to trial in January. He has been charged with kidnapping and sexual assault. It now appears, however, that his accuser will likely not testify and the charges against him could be dropped.

Alberto’s former girlfriend recently posted a short statement through her social media. She apologized to the Rodriguez (Alberto’s real last name) family for her actions but did not go into detail.

“An apology to the Rodriguez del Rio family for the damages caused by my mistakes,” she wrote in Spanish.

Alberto has reportedly been saying the charges against him have been dropped and that he will have one more hearing on the matter.

The situation involving the charges against Del Rio was also addressed recently on Wrestling Observer Radio.

“It looks like that case is gonna go away because the woman is recanting her story,” Dave Meltzer said. “There was police inspectors saw her, saw her bruises, so it’s hard for me to go, well, you know, she changed her story. Then there was actually talk originally that she was going to leave town and not even testify in the first place.”

“It looked bad for him as far as the indictment and everything like that and the crime was like freaking hideous the way it was described. But the charge itself is going to go away,” Meltzer continued.

Alberto Del Rios’ brother put out a statement regarding’s Alberto’s accuser recanting.

“Well gang, as everyone knows the truth always falls under its own weight. After so many and so many months, finally the garbage person who accused my brother of something totally false spoke with the truth admitting her lie,” he wrote.

Meltzer continued to talk about the reaction to Alberto’s accuser recanting.

“There’s too much. She recants her story and then the family starts talking about she’s a money-grubber type of thing. That she’s using it for money. And the criminal case was not about money. So, you know, you try to tie the dots together. I certainly come up with something but I better not say it.”

Rhea Ripley Opens Up About Losing Her Confidence After WrestleMania

0

Former NXT Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley has opened up about her loss to Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 36. She acknowledged how her momentum has slowed down since her championship loss in April.

Speaking with Lilian Garcia on Garcia’s podcast Chasing Glory, Ripley confessed how it has felt like the wind has been taken out her sails in recent months.

“I felt like I went through a stage where I was losing confidence in myself because I wasn’t portrayed the same way. Even now, I’m still slowly building myself back up from it,” Riple explained. “My confidence was tainted a little, which sucks because I try to keep it up and do my best all the time. I don’t know if it was something in my head that wasn’t getting the picture, I just got a little bit lost after that.”

She added how she feels like she’s finally getting back on track. Ripley noted that she has committed to building herself back up but shared how it’s been an undeniably difficult process.

Ripley explained how she’s been watching matches from NXT UK and footage from her feud with Shayna Baszler.

She confessed she’s been doing this in an attempt to “remember who I am because I forgot who I was.”

Ripley admitted this active effort to reconnect with who she was has been helpful for her.

Rhea Ripley took to the ring during last week’s episode of NXT to address her future. She was interrupted by Candice LeRae alongside Toni Storm, Dakota Kai, and Raquel Gonzalez. Ripley will be a part of Team Shotzi versus Team Candice at NXT TakeOver: WarGames.

NXT TakeOver: WarGames takes place on December 6th from NXT’s Capitol Wrestling Center in Orlando, FL.

Keith Lee Believes It’s ‘Too Early’ To Judge His Main Roster Run

0

Keith Lee believes it’s “too early” to judge his main roster run. Speaking with SI.com, Lee stressed how he hasn’t even been on Raw for half a year yet, suggesting that there’s still plenty of time for him to further establish himself on WWE’s red brand.

“There are things I have done that a lot of people have not, in terms of showing up and stepping right up to one of the best that’s ever done this,” Lee said, referring to interrupting Randy Orton. “Those are things that make it standout, but in terms of trying to rate, it’s too early.”

He stressed how he doesn’t believe in the ratings system and the “rest of that nonsense.” Lee then acknowledged how, “The way things have been going, it’s been a grind. At the end of the day, that’s all I need.”

Lee explained how he intends to continue embracing that grind. He wants to continue making the “best of anything I do.” He added how he doesn’t rate it; he just does it as that’s who he is.

“Take one thing and make it better than it was before. That’s all I can do, and I have to work within the confines of what is given to me,” Lee explained. “As long as I do those things, I’m OK with it.”

Keith Lee competed in a Triple Threat match last night on Monday Night Raw against AJ Styles and Riddle. The winner would earn a WWE Championship matchup against Drew McIntyre at TLC. AJ Styles ultimately won the bout, punching his ticket to TLC.

Jeff Hardy Update Following Crazy Spot On Monday’s RAW

0

Jeff Hardy competed in a “Symphony of Destruction” match against Elias during Monday’s WWE Raw. Unfortunately, Hardy appeared to sustain a head injury during a key moment following a Swanton Bomb to the outside of the ring.

Upon driving Elias through a table, Hardy hit the back of his head on the steel steps. This impact prompted the referee to immediately check on him to make sure he was okay.

Discussing the scary moment during Wrestling Observer Radio, Bryan Alvarez and Dave Meltzer divulged what they had been told from people backstage following the incident.

According to Alvarez, Hardy was said to be okay. He confessed, however, he wasn’t entirely sure to what extent. He stressed that Hardy still banged his head on the steps, acknowledging the seriousness of the potential damage.

Meltzer added how Hardy immediately grabbed his head after the impact. He noted how he was “walking around like he was hurting real bad” before stressing that it “wasn’t a sell.”

“He was looking to see if he split his head open, which it didn’t appear that he did but I had heard that there was kind of an expectation that he had a concussion but he hadn’t been diagnosed as having one because that wouldn’t come as yet anyway.”

Jeff Hardy defeated Elias in a ‘Symphony of Destruction’ match last on Monday Night Raw, ending their feud.

Here are the takeaways from this week’s show:

Orton Found The Fiend’s Weakness

Randy Orton was a guest on A Moment of Bliss to kick off the show. Bliss rolled footage of The Fiend costing Orton his qualifying match last week on RAW. Orton said he knows Bray Wyatt very well but hasn’t been formerly introduced to The Fiend. Bliss said that The Fiend is actually one of her best friends and Orton claimed that he is a lot in common with The Fiend.

Orton noted that the one main difference between them is that The Fiend wears his pain on his exterior for everyone to see while he tucks his pain away so he can blend in. Randy claimed that he hears voices as well but The Fiend actually hears Orton’s voice.

Randy said that he had to figure out Wyatt’s weakness was years ago and he burned it to the ground. Orton added that now he needs to find The Fiend’s weakness and looked directly at Alexa and said “it looks like I have”. Bliss got up and walked towards Orton and suggested that the voices in his head are telling him lies. Alexa said “who is manipulating who?” and stared at Orton.

The lights began to go out and Orton said “see what I mean”. Bliss smirked and responded “see what I mean”. The lights came on and Bliss was in Orton’s arms and The Fiend was in the ring. The Fiend awkwardly walked towards Orton and extended his hands. Orton placed Alexa in The Fiend’s arms and exited the ring. Orton shouted “who is laughing now?” and cackled on the entrance ramp to end the segment.

Jeff Hardy Defeated Elias

Elias battled Jeff Hardy in a Symphony of Destruction match tonight on RAW. Elias and Hardy traded punches to start off the action. Jeff Clotheslined Elias out of the ring and connected with a Dropkick through the ropes. Jeff tried to hit Elias with a violin but Elias countered with a knee to the face.

Elias bounced Hardy’s face off the apron and walked towards a piano on the entrance ramp. The lid on the piano began to move and it was revealed that the 24/7 Champion R-Truth was hiding in there. Several superstars chased R-Truth around until Elias and Hardy hit Gulak and Lince Dorado with instruments as RAW went to a break.

When RAW returned, Jeff hit Elias with a Dropkick and followed it up with a Splash for a two count. Elias launched Hardy into a guitar set up in the corner of the ring for a near fall. Elias put a guitar pick in between his fingers and raked his fist across Jeff’s face.

The action spilled out of the ring and Elias bounced Jeff’s face off a drum set. Elias launched Jeff into the ring post and went for a knee strike but wound up hitting a gong. Jeff sent Elias into the drum kit and brought him back into the ring. Hardy tried to hit Elias with a guitar but he blocked it.

Jeff leaped off the top rope but Elias hit him with the guitar for a two count. Elias broke off a piece of the guitar and tried to hit Jeff but he ducked and Elias electrocuted himself in a speaker. Hardy hit Elias with a bass guitar and beat him down on top of a table.

Hardy put a few instruments on top of Elias and made his way to the top rope. Jeff then got on top of the ring post and connected with a Swanton Bomb through the table for the pinfall victory. Hardy bounced his head off the steel steps but seemed to be okay following the move and even played the tambourine to celebrate.

Slapjack Picked Up A Win

Ricochet squared off against Slapjack from RETRIBUTION on this week’s RAW. Before the match, Mustafa Ali said that everything that has happened to Ricochet has already happened to everyone in RETRIBUTION. Ali stated that Ricochet should be standing with them in RETRIBUTION. Slapjack stated that Ali saw him as a weapon for RETRIBUTION and tonight Ricochet will face the consequences for not joining RETRIBUTION.

Ricochet dominated early and beat Slapjack down in the corner of the ring. Ricochet connected with a Clothesline and followed it up with a standing Shooting Star Press for a two count. Mace and T-Bar rushed the ring but Ricochet took them out with a flip. Dana Brooke showed up and slapped Ali in the face. Ricochet Dropkicked T-Bar off the apron and then got distracted by Ali. Slapjack capitalized on the distraction and connected with a slam for the pinfall victory.

Miz & Morrison Beat Sheamus Down

The Miz and John Morrison came to the ring for an episode of Miz TV. Miz plugged his reality show and welcomed Sheamus as his guest tonight. The Miz and Morrison poked fun at Sheamus’ look and then asked him about his tag team team partner tonight Drew McIntyre.

Miz brought up Sheamus returning McIntyre’s family sword to him and claimed that McIntyre was disrespectful for not giving him a gift in return. Sheamus said that he and Drew are like brothers and doesn’t expect anything in return. Morrison suggested that McIntyre should have given Sheamus a championship opportunity.

The Miz said that John Morrison is first in line for a title shot once he cashes in his MITB contract. Miz claimed that Sheamus’ career was a joke and that McIntyre has taken his place at the top of the mountain. Sheamus took of his ridiculous jacket and his top hat and punched Miz in the face. Morrison hopped on Sheamus’ back but the Celtic Warrior beat him down. The Miz hit Sheamus with the MITB briefcase several times to end the segment. Miz & Morrison will battle McIntyre & Sheamus later tonight.

Baszler stomped on Lana’s ankle and threw her out of the ring. Jax tagged in and slammed Lana onto the barricade. Lana shoved Jax into the ring post and tagged in Asuka. Asuka hit the “Facebreaker” (Codebreaker) and Lana quickly tagged herself back in. Lana hit Shayna with a Crossbody but Shayna rolled through and applied the Kirifuda Clutch. Asuka broke it up with a kick and Lana rolled onto her for the pinfall victory.

Cedric Alexander Defeated Xavier Woods

RAW Tag Team Champions New Day came down to the ring during the 2nd hour of RAW. Kingston noted that Xavier Woods was named the host of the G4 network. Woods thanked anyone that has ever watched an UpUpDownDown video and said it means more to him than you will ever know. New Day joked about the Hurt Business failing to take the titles from them and rolled highlights from their recent matches.

Hurt Business interrupted and said they were actually 2-2 against New Day. MVP claimed that the Hurt Business will capture the titles from New Day the next time they put the titles on the line. Woods and Cedric Alexander then battled in a singles match as Kingston, MVP, and Shelton Benjamin were ringside.

Cedric attacked Woods before the match as RAW went to a commercial break. When RAW returned, Woods was in control and hit Cedric with a chop in the corner of the ring. Alexander battled back and slammed Woods across the top rope. Cedric followed it up with a boot to the back and then dug his elbow into Woods’ spine.

Woods went for a Powerbomb but Cedric countered into a Brainbuster for a two count. Alexander sent Woods out of the ring and went for a Suicide Dive but Xavier dodged it and Cedric crashed into the barricade. Back in the ring, Alexander hit the Lumbar Check for the pinfall victory. Cedric Alexander celebrated by himself on the entrance ramp as the Hurt Business stood confused in the ring.

AJ Styles Earned A Title Shot At TLC

Keith followed it up with a Splash in the corner and launched Riddle across the ring again. Lee went for the Spirit Bomb but Riddle countered into a Triangle in the middle of the ring. AJ got back into the ring and Lee swung Riddle into Styles’ face. Riddle booted Lee in the face and planted Styles with an Exploder Suplex.

Lee hit Riddle with a shoulder tackle and went for the cover for a two count. AJ hit Keith with the Pele Kick and then a forearm to the face for a two count. Styles climbed to the top rope but Lee tripped him up. Keith joined AJ on the top rope and set up for a Superplex but Riddle broke it up.

Riddle went for a Powerbomb but Lee escaped and launched Riddle across the ring again. Styles hit Lee with a Crossbody for a two count. AJ went for the Styles Clash but Lee broke it up. Riddle booted Keith in the face and then hit Styles with a German Suplex for a near fall.

Keith hit Riddle with a forearm to the face and followed it up with a chop. Riddle connected with a knee to the face that sent Lee out of the ring. AJ Styles then hit Riddle with the Phenomenal Forearm for the pinfall victory. AJ Styles will face Drew McIntyre for the WWE Championship at TLC.

Later on RAW, Lashley attacked Riddle backstage.

Reckoning Lost Her First Match On RAW

Dana Brooke battled Reckoning tonight on RAW. Mustafa Ali was ringside for the match. Dana controlled the match early but Reckoning battled back with a Clothesline. Reckoning sent Dana to the corner and hit her with a couple chops. Brooke connected with a Jawbreaker and followed it up with a Clothesline. Dana hit a Splash in the corner and Mustafa hopped on the apron. Reckoning went for a kick but missed and Dana rolled her up for the pinfall victory. After the match, Mustafa Ali shouted at Reckoning and said there is no failure in RETRIBUTION.

AJ Styles’ Plan Backfired

Charly Caruso interviewed WWE Champion Drew McIntyre before the main event. Caruso said McIntyre has been very busy as of late and Drew stated that it feels good to be WWE Champion once again. McIntyre boasted about defeating Orton to regain his title and said that he is a man of his word.

Drew said that he told Roman Reigns that he was going to humble him and claimed that is exactly what he did at Survivor Series. McIntyre noted that Reigns had confidence at the beginning of the match but the confidence turned to fear after he kicked out of Spear after Spear. McIntyre said that Reigns needed Jey Uso interfere to win the battle but he will win the war and Reigns can “believe that”.

Charly brought up the title match against AJ Styles at TLC and asked how he will remain focused with The Miz having the MITB contract. McIntyre said the match against Styles will be phenomenal and joked that the MITB briefcase is the only thing keeping The Miz relevant. McIntyre and Sheamus then faced Miz & Morrison in a tag team match. AJ Styles joined commentary for the match.

Sheamus beat Miz down int eh corner to start things off. Sheamus connected with a Fallaway Slam and Miz rolled out of the ring. McIntyre rolled him back inside and Sheamus sent Miz back to the corner. Morrison tagged in and walked into a Clothesline from Sheamus.

McIntyre tagged himself in and Sheamus wasn’t too happy about it. Morrison applied a Headlock but Drew escaped and leveled John with a shoulder tackle. Sheamus tagged in and hit John with a knee to the face that knocked him to the apron. Sheamus clubbed Morrison across the chest and then did the same to The Miz.

Sheamus dared AJ Styles to get into the ring and got in his face. The Miz tried to capitalize but Sheamus punched him in the face. AJ’s associate got in Sheamus’ face and he backed down. Morrison hit Sheamus with a Dropkick that sent him tumbling over the announce table as RAW went to a break.

When RAW returned, The Miz connected with a Clothesline and went for the cover but Sheamus kicked at two. Morrison tagged in and hit a Shooting Star Press for a two count. Sheamus connected with a knee to the face and both superstars fell to the mat.

Miz and McIntyre tagged in and the WWE Champion sent Miz flying across the ring. Sheamus asked for a tag but Morrison pulled him off the apron and threw Sheamus over the barricade. AJ Styles then hit Drew McIntyre with a Phenomenal Forearm and the match ended in a DQ.

AJ Styles told Morrison to hit the Starship Pain and suggested that The Miz cash in. Styles asked for the briefcase as Miz hit the Skull Crushing Finale. The Miz told the referee that he was chasing in as McIntyre sent Morrison out of the ring. McIntyre then leveled Miz with the Claymore and got in AJ’s face. Styles then escaped onto the shoulders of his associate as AJ claimed that McIntyre was lucky that he was taking him away. McIntyre raised the title and said that this was the closest AJ will ever get to it.

Opinion: The first two hours of RAW were absolutely abysmal but the final hour was entertaining. Keith Lee, Riddle, and AJ Styles had the match of the night. While the ending of RAW was goofy, I’m definitely looking forward to McIntyre versus Styles at WWE TLC on December 20th.

Drew McIntyre will make his next title defense against AJ Styles at the upcoming WWE TLC pay-per-view event.

Last week, WWE started a tournament to determine the new #1 contender to the WWE Championship. The finals took place in a Sudden Death Triple Threat Match that featured AJ Styles, Riddle and Keith Lee.

This contest was booked in the third hour of Monday’s episode of RAW on the USA Network. This match saw Styles hit the Phenomenal Forearm to Riddle for the win in just about 14 minutes.

As a result of the win, Styles become the new #1 contender and will now challenge McIntyre for the WWE Championship at the final PPV event for WWE in 2020.

WWE TLC takes place Sunday, December 20th and airs live on the WWE Network.

It was reported last Monday that Strowman was slated to challenge McIntyre for the strap at this show. However, that changed due to Strowman dealing with a knee injury

WWE got around this injury when he headbutted Adam Pearce and was suspended in storyline as a way to get him off television. Now, it should be noted that it’s possible Strowman can recover in time and WWE does an angle to add him to this title contest and make it a three-way bout.

Pete Dunne Explains Why He Likes NXT Being Separate From RAW & SmackDown

0

Pete Dunne holds WWE NXT and NXT UK in high regard because that’s where he started in WWE.

The former NXT UK Champion did an interview with Scott Fishman of Wrestling Inc to discuss the importance of NXT to him.

He noted that NXT has always been what it is and never changed despite who is working on the brand. He put it over for having a competitive locker room and everyone trying to have the best match on the card.

Dunne then brought up why he thinks NXT should not be seen in the same light as RAW and SmackDown.

“It’s great to be part of Survivor Series and getting the chance to do that. At the same time, I want NXT to stand out on its own. NXT has been great to me. I love being able to wrestle the way I want to wrestle and be who I want to be. NXT is this amazing platform to do that. Raw and SmackDown, main roster, whatever you want to call it.

That’s its own thing too. Whether it’s progression or moving from brand to brand if I ever move to Raw or SmackDown, I want it to feel exciting and interesting. I feel like you can be overexposed there now.”

Dunne brought up how that wouldn’t do anything for the brand or himself even if it’s good for the pickets. He stated that being in the Royal Rumble and Survivor Series is great, but he’s not in any rush to get to the main roster.

Dunne also doesn’t think anyone should feel panic when NXT is not involved in Survivor Series, which it wasn’t this year.

“So having us as separate entities is not bad at all.”

Keith Lee Opens Up On Feeling Like He Abandoned WWE NXT

0

Keith Lee gave some interesting comments while doing an interview with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated.

Lee had a great run in NXT and even became the top star by being the NXT Champion. However, he does admit that he feels like he abandoned everyone on the brand when he was called up to the main roster.

“Most definitely,” Lee responded. “As monumental as it’s been to go to the main roster, I’m not sure it was so important to end that [NXT championship reign] as abruptly as it happened.”

He brought up watching NXT because he has friends there such as Damian Priest. Thus, he saw how Karrion Kross was sidelined with a shoulder injury when the rising star won the title from him in August and then Finn Balor became the champion only to be out of action with a broken jaw.

“I like those guys, and I feel like I abandoned them. It’s difficult to think about.”

He noted that he’s proud of what he’s done on the main roster, but it’s been difficult to see the injuries. He mentioned that he doesn’t know what would’ve happened if he had stayed longer.

“At the end of the day, we’re not always in control of our journey, and that’s just how it goes. The main roster wanted me, and that’s where I ended up. All I can do right now is root those guys on and be there for them in whatever capacity I can be, while still focusing on what I’m doing.”

Lee will work the Sudden Death Triple Threat with AJ Styles and Riddle on Monday’s RAW to determine the new #1 contender to the WWE Network.

“Vince McMahon Doesn’t Know How to Communicate, He Only Knows How To Lie” – Ryback

Former WWE Superstar Ryback recently discussed Vince McMahon and by extension WWE’s communication as a company.

The Big Guy would compare WWE’s communication with talent with that of a professional sports team like that in the NFL. Ryback would make the point that when you aren’t performing well in a ‘real’ sport you’re pulled aside by your coaches and your path to success is laid out in front of you.

Ryback on WWE Communication

“They [WWE] don’t communicate” Ryback would begin on the Shooting Blanks Wrestling podcast. “That stems from Vince, because Vince doesn’t know how to communicate. Vince only knows how to lie. That’s done on purpose, to control things and to create that fear mentality.”

“They breed that fear and it gets passed down all the way to developmental” The Big Guy continued. “I’ve lived it, it’s something that needs to be better. It doesn’t need to exist, you know? In traditional sports? You know if you’re not performing.”

Ryback would finish by using the aforementioned football analogy. “If you’re a starting running back you know you’re going to be told exactly what you need to be doing. ‘Look, we need you need to start performing you need to do this, this and this. And then if you don’t? We’re going to take you out of this.'”

“They don’t do this in depth, and this is speaking for WWE solely” The Big Guy continued. “And it’s frustrating because it doesn’t need to be that way. It’s all just a lack of communication.”

This is not the first time that Ryback has made disparaging comments regarding WWE and or Vince McMahon. It likely also won’t be the last.

Do you think that we’ll see Ryback in the likes of AEW or NJPW? Let us know in the comments
