Shayna Baszler Showed Up On RAW Underground
Shayna Baszler showed up on RAW Underground and Shane McMahon asked if anyone wants to take her on.
Nobody accepted the challenge and Shayna just started beating up a girl that was there. Two other women showed up to help but Shayna beat them down.
All three charged at Baszler but Shayna once again took them all down as Shane McMahon shouted “oh!” over and over into a microphone. Shane declared Shayna Baszler the winner.
Opinion: I think RAW Underground is a waste of time and a miserable failure. They took away the dancers too, so all is lost. I guess RAW Underground has a cool look but it doesn’t offer much in terms of entertainment. It is just a ridiculous amount of camera cuts and “fights” that don’t mean anything.
Randy Orton Punted Ric Flair
Randy Orton faced Kevin Owens on this week’s episode of RAW. Ric Flair was ringside for the match.
Match Recap: Orton brought Owens out of the ring and tried to slam his head into the announce table. Owens blocked it and bounced Orton’s face off the announce table before the action returned to the ring. Owens stomped on Orton in the corner several times and followed it up with a Superkick and then a Cannonball as RAW went to a break.
When RAW returned, Orton was in control and sent Owens flying into the plexiglass and then into the steel steps. Randy slammed Owens onto the announce table and rolled him back into the ring.
Owens battled back with a headbutt and then a Senton off the top rope for a near fall. Kevin Owens went for the Stunner but Orton blocked it and connected with an RKO for the pinfall victory.
After the match, Randy Orton told Ric Flair to stay put because there is something they need celebrate as RAW went to a break. Orton stated that he has every right to be upset at Flair but he cannot find it in his heart.
Randy said that this match against Kevin Owens wasn’t necessary and he was only in it because of Flair’s ego got him in it. Orton said that Flair is one of the reasons that he still in the ring after twenty years and he cannot be mad at the Nature Boy.
Orton told Ric Flair that he doesn’t respect and love him anymore because he has become a liability. Randy claimed that Flair took Orton under his wing so he can be the son he wished he had. Orton told Flair that he is not the Ric Flair he looked up to in the past. Orton said that the Flair he looked up to didn’t have a pacemaker or slip into a coma two summers ago.
Randy called Flair a whore for the spotlight and that he is just worried about himself. Flair admitted that he liked the spotlight and noted that he is 71-years old and on RAW. Ric stated that he has guys like Hogan calling him and asking how it is. Flair added that he wants Orton to break his title record and called Randy the greatest performer in the business today.
Flair got choked up and said that after 31 days of being in the ICU he just wanted to tell everyone that he hasn’t told that he loved them. Ric said all he is now is Charlotte’s dad and wants to be in Orton’s life. Randy threw the microphone out of the ring and shared a hug with Flair.
Orton then hit Ric with a low blow and Flair fell to the canvas as the lights flickered. Orton punted Flair’s head as the lights went out in the arena. McIntyre rushed the ring and Orton retreated to close the show.
Opinion: I thought this was a fantastic segment and Randy Orton is on another level right now. The lights going out was a convenient way of not putting Flair in any risk and I’m okay with that. Overall, Rollins’ attack on Dominik, Bayley versus Asuka, and Orton & Flair were great segments. The rest of the show was shockingly bad in my opinion.
Even if you enjoy RAW Underground, it is hard to imagine it lasting much longer. RETRIBUTION made a couple of dumb appearances during tonight’s show. They threw a cinder block through a glass door and scampered away like teenagers TPing a house. RETRIBUTION was then shown celebrating next to a flipped car. It wasn’t explained who the car belonged to and we didn’t even get to see it happen. It is bizarre for so much good and so much terrible to happen on the same show.
