Match Recap: Roode and Ziggler dominated the match early and isolated Angelo Dawkins in the ring. The referee eventually threw the match out because Ziggler and Roode continued to beat Angelo down. After the match, Montez Ford took out Roode and Ziggler with a Frog Splash off the top rope as Ric Flair was shown watching in the ThunderDome.

Bayley Refused To Sign The Contract

Bayley and Sasha Banks had a contract signing for their SmackDown Women’s Championship Hell in a Cell match. Adam Pearce put the contract on the table and said Sasha will sign first because she is the challenger. Sasha quickly signed the contract and said she has been waiting for this moment for a very long time.

SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley told Sasha that she just wants to be done with her so she can continue her title reign. Bayley claimed that she did it all by herself and Banks dared her to say that again to her face. Bayley said Banks was waiting to turn on her and she just beat her to the punch.

Sasha told Bayley that she would have turned her back on her years ago when that was the case. Banks added that she was the first one to call Bayley when she got left behind in NXT. Sasha said she helped Bayley become the longest reigning SmackDown Women’s Champion but she is going to take it from her at Hell in a Cell. Bayley refused to sign the contract and exited the ring. Sasha called Bayley a coward and that there will be nowhere to run when they are locked inside the Hell in a Cell. Banks told Bayley that she will be signing the contract one way or another.

Roman Reigns Retained & Sent A Message To Jey Uso

Roman Reigns defended the Universal Championship against Braun Strowman tonight on SmackDown. Goldberg was shown watching the match on one of the screens in the ThunderDome.

Match Recap: Roman Reigns went right after Strowman and hit him with a Superman Punch that sent Braun out of the ring. Reigns followed it up with a Dropkick and rolled Strowman back inside the ring. Reigns hit Strowman with a headbutt and then a big boot that knocked Strowman to the canvas.

Strowman brought Reigns out of the ring and launched him over the announce table. Braun returned to the ring before hopping back outside and hit Reigns with a shoulder tackle that sent Roman over the barricade as SmackDown went to a commercial break.

When SmackDown returned, Strowman leveled Reigns with a Clothesline for a two count. Reigns went for a Superman Punch but Strowman blocked it. Braun slammed Roman to the canvas and shouted “I’m not finished with you!”. Strowman connected with a Chokeslam and went for the cover but Reigns kicked out.

Roman hit Strowman with a low blow while kicking out and then geared up int he corner. Reigns leveled Strowman with a Spear and went for the cover but Braun powered out at the last moment. Roman went for another Spear but Strowman blocked it. Reigns locked in a Guillotine choke and Strowman had no choice but to tap out. Jey Uso was shown backstage watching the finish to the match.

Jey made his way to the entrance ramp and stared at Reigns. Roman noticed Braun was getting back up and told Jey to watch this. Reigns leveled Strowman with another Spear as Jey shook his head. Roman dared Jey to come to the ring and then grabbed a steel chair. Jey stopped as Reigns told him that he doesn’t want to do this to him. Roman said that this is going to be Jey at Hell in a Cell and hit Braun several times with the chair. WWE officials tried to break it up but Roman scared them away and hit Strowman a few more times. Jey hopped on the ring apron and then entered the ring. Reigns dropped the chair and told Jey that he has forced his hand.

Reigns told Jey that he is not on the same level as him but he still loves him. Roman asked Jey to hit Strowman with the chair but Jey refused. Roman turned his back and dared Jey to hit him with the chair but Jey slammed it to the canvas. Reigns then laughed and tried to hug Jey. Uso wasn’t having it and leveled Roman with a Superkick. Jey unloaded on Reigns with a couple chair shots before WWE officials broke it up. Roman got back to his feet and hit Jey with a Superman Punch and said “that was your last chance” as SmackDown went off the air.

Opinion: The season premiere of SmackDown on Fox was a solid show. It was good to see Daniel Bryan back on SmackDown and the storyline between Reigns and Jey Uso remains the best part of the show.
