WWE SmackDown Results (11/13): Drew McIntyre & Roman Reigns, IC Title Match

Murphy Betrayed Seth Rollins

Seth Rollins battled Rey Mysterio in a No Holds Barred match tonight. Murphy came down to the ring with Murphy. Dominik, Angie, and Aalyah came down to the ring with Rey.

Match Recap: Rollins controlled the action early but Rey battled back and connected with a Tornado DDT on the ring apron. Rollins slammed Mysterio on top of the announce table as Angie and Aalyah looked on with horror.

Seth sent Rey into the barricade and then beat him down in the corner of the ring. Rollins set up a steel chair in between the ropes and tried to launch Rey into it but he managed to escape. Mysterio connected with a Senton and followed it up with a Bulldog for a two count.

Rollins launched Rey out of the ring and grabbed the steel steps. Seth bashed the steps off of Mysterio’s head and then put his head on top of it. Rollins went for the Stomp but Mysterio got out of the way. Mysterio connected with a sliding Splash on top of the steel steps as SmackDown went to a commercial break.

When SmackDown returned, Rollins hit Mysterio with two Suplexes and went for a third but Rey escaped. Seth set up a table and Powerbombed Rey through it but Mysterio somehow kicked out at two. Rollins shoved the steel chair into Rey’s throat and started ripping at his eye. Dominik broke it up and Rollins knocked him to the floor outside the ring.

Murphy hopped in the ring and gave the chair back to Rollins. Murphy then leveled Rollins with a knee to the face and got out of the ring. Seth crawled to the ropes and shouted “I trusted you!” at Murphy. Mysterio went for the 619 but it got botched. Rey then connected with the 619 and followed it up with a Splash for the pinfall victory. After the match, Rey shook Murphy’s hand and Aalyah gave him a hug. It was later announced that Rollins will face Murphy next week.

Liv Morgan Qualified For Team SmackDown

Liv Morgan Riott Squad

Tamina, Natalya, Chelsea Green, and Liv Morgan competed in a Fatal 4-Way match. The winner will join Team SmackDown at Survivor Series.

Match Recap: Chelsea, Natalya, and Liv Morgan attacked Tamina and beat her down to start off the match. Natalya went for a Clothesline but Liv Morgan countered into a DDT for a two count. Liv escaped from a Sleeper Hold and hit Natalya with a Clothesline for a near fall.

Natalya went for the Sharpshooter but Liv blocked it. Morgan connected with a Codebreaker for a two count. Tamina finally got back into the ring and walked into a Facebuster from Morgan for the pinfall victory.

Opinion: I have no idea why Chelsea Green was added to this match only to take a loss. Liv Morgan has been running in place forever so hopefully she actually has a moment at Survivor Series.

Drew McIntyre Defeated Jey Uso

Drew McIntyre battled Jey Uso in an Unsanctioned match in this week’s main event.

Match Recap: McIntyre dominated the match early and beat down Jey in the corner of the ring. Drew connected with a Suplex and went for the cover but Jey was able to kick out at two. When SmackDown returned, Jey Uso was in control and planted McIntyre with a Samoan Drop for a two count.

McIntyre connected with a couple Clotheslines and then launched Jey across the ring with a Belly to Belly Throw. Drew planted Jey with a Neckbreaker and went for the Future Shock DDT but Jey countered into a cover for a two count. McIntyre hit Uso with the Glasgow Kiss and followed it up with a Spinebuster for a two count.

Jey connected with a Superkick and then made his way to the top rope. McIntyre got up and punched Jey in the face. McIntyre joined Jey on the turnbuckle and went for a Superplex but it was blocked. Jey hit McIntyre with a headbutt but Drew got right back up and launched Uso across the ring.

Drew set up for the Claymore but Jey escaped out of the ring. McIntyre followed Jey out there and slammed him into the barricade a couple times. Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman came to the entrance ramp and Jey capitalized on the distraction. Jey slammed McIntyre into the ring post and then sent him into the steel steps.

Jey told Roman that he was going to beat Drew and tried to get back into the ring. Roman stopped Jey and said “I do not care if you beat him, I want you to make him understand”. Jey got in the ring and unloaded several punches. McIntyre then hit Jey with the Claymore for the pinfall victory. After the match, McIntyre got right in Roman’s face and said “do you understand me now?”. Reigns told McIntyre to get a title and then will talk at Survivor Series.

Opinion: I would assume Drew is going to defeat Orton on RAW and take the WWE Championship back. It would be bizarre to waste an entire episode of SmackDown to build up a Survivor Series match between Reigns and McIntyre and then not have it happen. This was a pretty forgettable episode of SmackDown.
