WWE SmackDown Results (11/20): Reigns & McIntyre, Murphy vs. Rollins

Reigns & McIntyre Signed The Contract

WWE Champion Drew McIntyre came to the ring for a contract signing for his match against Universal Champion Roman Reigns at Survivor Series. McIntyre took his seat at the table with Adam Pearce.

Universal Champion Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman took their time coming to the ring. Reigns switched seats with Pearce because he wanted to be at the head of the table. Roman said that he knew Drew could do it and that he has already learned all of these lessons.

Reigns told McIntyre that he was the right guy, in the right place but at the wrong time. McIntyre signed the contract and told Reigns that it was his turn. Reigns went to grab the contract but McIntyre held on. Drew dared Reigns to underestimate him and suggested that he use these last two days of peace to prepare for war.

Roman said that only the Special Counsel (Heyman) advises the Tribal Chief. Reigns called McIntyre a secondary title holder and is the guy they give the title to when he is busy. Reigns smirked and said he is “The champion, the face of WWE, your Tribal Chief, and the head of the table”.

Roman added that McIntyre will have the opportunity to be the face of the company years from now and is going to thank him one day. Reigns claimed that McIntyre is one day he is going to love him for the lessons that he taught him. Reigns signed the contract and told Drew that he will always be his favorite #2.

Opinion: It was odd to have a contract signing for a non-title match but this promo was excellent. Reigns versus McIntyre has a big fight feel and I cannot wait to see it on Sunday night.

Carmella Attacked Sasha Banks Again

RAW Women’s Champion Asuka and SmackDown Women’s Champion Sasha Banks came down to the ring to promote their match this Sunday at Survivor Series. Banks vowed to lock in the Bank Statement on Asuka at Survivor Series and win the match. Asuka laughed and Sasha suggested that they fight right now.

Sasha said she is the best of the best and Asuka shouted that Banks is not ready for. Banks stated that she was born ready and was then attacked from behind by Carmella. Carmella stomped on Banks in the corner as Asuka looked on.

Daniel Bryan Defeated Jey Uso

Daniel Bryan returned with a new haircut and was interviewed by Kayla Braxton. Footage was shown of Jey Uso attacking Bryan after his victory in the Survivor Series Qualifying match as Roman Reigns watched on.

Bryan said he actually believed Jey when he said the brutal attack was nothing personal because he has a devil on his shoulder. Daniel added that everyone has an angel and a devil on his shoulder and the devil is speaking to him louder after watching the video. Bryan stated that Jey needs to be concerned that he is back and said that it was nothing personal. Kayla interviewed Jey later in the night and Jey claimed that he put Bryan through the table because he wanted to.

Match Recap: Daniel Bryan controlled the action early but Jey battled back with an elbow to the face. Jey cleared off the announce table but Bryan recovered and brought him back into the ring. Bryan connected with a Dropkick off the top rope and then beat Jey down in the corner.

Bryan sent Jey out of the ring and hit him with a Suicide Dive. Jey sent Bryan crashing through the announce table with a Back Body Drop as SmackDown went to a commercial break.

When SmackDown returned, Jey connected with several punches while telling Bryan that this was nothing personal. Jey hit Bryan with a Superplex and went for the cover but Daniel was able to kick out at two. Bryan went for the LeBell Lock but Jey escaped and hit Daniel with knees to the midsection.

Bryan responded with a Back Suplex off the top rope. Daniel followed it up with some Yes Kicks for a two count. Bryan stomped on Jey’s face and went for the Running Knee but Jey caught him with a Superkick. Jey climbed to the top rope and went for the Uso Splash but Bryan got his knees up. Bryan then rolled Jey up for the pinfall victory.

Opinion: Bryan and Jey had a solid match but Rollins & Murphy had the best match on the show. Team RAW versus Team SmackDown isn’t all that interesting to me but Reigns versus McIntyre is a match I’m very much looking forward to at the PPV Sunday. Overall, this week’s had a terrible opening segment but wound up being a decent show.
