Otis Defeated John Morrison
Otis faced John Morrison tonight at SmackDown. The Miz joined commentary and Tucker was ringside for the match.
Match Recap: Otis dominated the action early as Miz claimed that Otis didn’t deserve to be Mr. MITB. Otis connected with a massive Body Slam and danced around in the conrer. The Miz hopped up on the ring apron for a distraction and Morrison grabbed the MITB lunch box. Morrison threw it to the Miz and Otis hit him with a Splash. Otis followed it up with the Caterpillar Elbow and a Splash for the pinfall victory. Otis revealed that he the contract in a different lunchbox and then The Miz opened his lunchbox to reveal an apple core.
Wobbly Walrus Joined The Firefly Fun House
A new episode of the Firefly Fun House aired tonight. Bray Wyatt stated that the Universal Championship is missing from the fun house thanks to Roman Reigns. Wyatt said that everybody deals with loss and that how you deal with defines you as a person. Wyatt walked over to a box and said that the newest member of the fun house is in here.
Bray said there was a parrot puppet in there but he was dead because Wyatt forgot to cut holes in the box. The Vince McMahon puppet arrived and scolded Wyatt for losing the title and his trust. Vince welcomed the new “special advisor” to the firefly fun house “Wobbly Walrus”. Vince then said “this is such good sh*t” to end the segment.
Opinion: This has to be a Paul Heyman parody/shot at him after he was removed as the Executive Director of RAW a few months back. I was expecting Alexa Bliss but instead we got a walrus.
Roman Reigns Showed Up & Won
Sheamus and King Corbin attacked Jey Uso during his entrance and the match began without Roman Reigns.
Match Recap: Corbin planted Jey with Deep Six for a near fall. Sheamus and Corbin took turns beating Jey down in the corner for a few minutes. Jey battled back and knocked Sheamus off the apron. Jey connected with a Samoan Drop on Corbin and went for a Splash but Corbin got out of the way.
Sheamus tagged in and planted Corbin with the White Noise for a near fall. Sheamus geared up in the corner but Roman Reigns’ theme hit. The Big Dog made his way down the ramp and Jey hit Sheamus with an Enziguri. Jey leveled King Corbin with a Suicide Dive and and then hit Sheamus with a Superkick. Roman Reigns tagged himself in as Jey hit a Splash. Reigns hit Sheamus with a Spear for the pinfall victory. Jey raised Roman’s hand on the entrance ramp and Reigns shot him a look as SmackDown went off the air.
Opinion: I am enjoying the storyline between Jey and Roman as WWE builds towards Clash of Champions. Overall, this week’s episode of SmackDown was a solid show with Alexa Bliss hitting the Sister Abigail as the best moment.
