AJ Styles faced Sami Zayn tonight. Zayn got pissed off that he wasn’t announced as Intercontinental Champion and Styles attacked him from behind.

Match Recap: Sami Zayn battled back and applied a Headlock in the middle of the ring. Sami went for the Helluva Kick but AJ got out of the way and Zayn crashed into the ring post. AJ knocked Sami out of the ring and hit the Phenomenal Forearm as SmackDown went to a commercial break.

When SmackDown returned, Zayn went for a Suplex but AJ countered into a Neckbreaker for a two count. Styles caught Sami with a Pele Kick and both superstars fell to the canvas. Zayn connected with the Blue Thunder Bomb and went for the cover but Styles kicked out at two.

Sami followed it up with an Exploder Suplex into the turnbuckle in the corner of the ring. Zayn geared up and went for the Helluva Kick but AJ dodged it. Zayn rolled up AJ and used the tights for the leverage but the referee caught him. AJ then rolled up Sami and held his tights for the victory. After the match, Sami attacked Styles from behind before Intercontinental Champion Jeff Hardy rushed the ring. Jeff hit Styles with a Clothesline and then bounced Sami’s face off the announce table.

Jeff brought out a table, ladder, and a steel chair from under the ring. Hardy hit Styles and Zayn with the ladder before rolling Sami back into the ring. Jeff planted Sami with the Twist of Fate and set up the ladder and climbed to the top. Sami Zayn retreated out of the ring and Jeff asked for a microphone. Hardy said he was sick of this IC Title situation and tired of being called a fraud. Jeff suggested a Triple Threat Ladder match at Clash of Champions.
