Evan Bourne vs. Sin Cara Booked For RAW Next Week

13

As previously reported, Monday’s there were technical difficulties that affected the voting results during Monday’s “Power To The People” episode of WWE RAW.

During the match to determine who would face Evan Bourne, many people (including Bourne) were surprised to see that Mason Ryan received the most votes – when fellow high-flier and fan favorite Sin Cara seemed like the logical opponent. It turns out – once the voting was properly counted – 90% of the fans did in fact vote for Sin Cara to face Evan Bourne.

In light of the technical difficulties, WWE is giving the fans what they voted for next week. The WWE website posted the following statement on Tuesday:

“During Monday’s Raw broadcast, WWE fans were given the option to text A, B or C to 46993 (GOWWE) in order to decide what they wanted to happen on the show. Things went perfectly at first when text votes selected Kelly Kelly (option B) to take on Brie Bella for the Divas Championship. However, our vote tabulating provider’s system became overwhelmed, causing these votes to definitively affect the following contest, in which Mason Ryan (also option B) was voted into a match against Evan Bourne — even though, as it was later discovered, Sin Cara had received 90 percent of the total votes in WWE.com’s Live Chat poll, and should have been Bourne’s opponent.”

RAW Ratings, Live Notes From SmackDown Tapings

6

– Monday’s 3-hour “Power To The People” edition of WWE RAW drew a 3.1 cable rating, with the final two hours (RAW’s usual timeslot) drew a 3.3. Considering the fact that Capitol Punishment took place the night before RAW, a 3.3 is not a great sign coming out of that show.

The three-hour show averaged 4.75 million viewers with 4.03 million in the first hour, 5.03 million in the second hour and 5.1 million viewers in the third hour.

– In a dark match that took place prior to Tuesday’s WWE SmackDown tapings from Hershey, PA, Johnny Curtis defeated Tyson Kidd.

*Spoilers* WWE SmackDown Tapings Results For Friday

– In a match taped prior to SmackDown for Thursday’s episode of WWE Superstars, Natalya, AJ Lee & Kaitlyn teamed up against Tamina, Alicia Fox & Rosa Mendes.

– After the tapings concluded, Teddy Long came out and booked a street fight for the World Heavyweight title between Randy Orton and Christian. During the match, Sheamus and Mark Henry ran down to interfere and started beating down Orton. Orton fought back and delivered RKO’s to all 3 heels to end the show.

JR Blog: CM Punk Leaving WWE, His Groundbreaking Project

3

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross is back with another blog, which you can read in its entirety at JRsBarBQ.com. Here are some highlights of what JR wrote about:

His New “Groundbreaking” Project: “I need to get back to doing my homework on the WWE project that I will soon be starting that I honestly feel will be one of the most ground breaking projects that the WWE or I have personally have ever done. It’s a fascinating DVD project that will be released later this year. More info as it can be made available.”

Shane McMahon At The US Open: “Nice seeing Shane McMahon on TV Sunday at the US Open Golf Championship. Shane is involved in a company the represents Rory McIlroy, Lee Westwood, Charles Swartzal, and Ernie Ells, among other top international golfers.”

CM Punk Leaving WWE: “Big news out of MNR is that CM Punk is apparently leaving WWE after his MITB PPV main event in July in his hometown of Chicago with John Cena for the WWE Title. This quickly has become the talk of the business as Punk is arguably the best antagonist in the ring right now as his work Monday night in Baltimore indicated. Who knows what’s going to happen in Chicago? I certainly don’t. Would a Punk win change MANY things within WWE? Absolutely. Could Punk become a ‘lame duck’ WWE Champion? With question. Would John Cena have to carry the burden of being the guy who lost the WWE Title to a man who has nothing to lose and has publicly stated that he’s leaving WWE? Yes sir. Is Punk leaving the WWE forever? I don’t know as only @cmpunk can answer that one. ”

“This I do know…the storyline between CM Punk and John Cena/WWE between now and Money in the Bank PPV should be excellent TV and I’m excited and anxious to see how it all plays out as I’m sure are many other fans. I choose not to over examine the matter and simply enjoy MNR for what it is and what this matter means within the body of the program.”

HBK Interview: Training His Son To Wrestle, Scott Hall, TNA

18

Check out this video WKSBY conducted with WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels.

HBK talks about his new “outdoor lifestyle” show (don’t call it a hunting show), training his 11 year old son to be a pro wrestler, whether he’s been contacted by TNA, Scott Hall’s recent problems and much more in this interview.

WWE – Text Voting Was Inaccurate In Raw’s Power to the People

49

WWE issued an apology via WWE.com to those who participated in Raw’s “Power to the People.” The tabulating provider’s overloaded system reported several inaccurate results, prompting WWE management to follow WWE.com’s Live Chat Poll for the night’s final vote.

Text Voting Inaccurate in Raw’s Power to the People

WWE would like to apologize for technical difficulties that occurred during the “Power to the People” edition of Raw on Monday night.

The interactive event aimed to give the WWE Universe the ability to choose what they wanted to see on their television screens. Unfortunately, uncontrollable difficulties created by an influx of heavy voting traffic resulted in not every one of the more-than 697,000 recorded votes to be properly counted.

During Monday’s Raw broadcast, WWE fans were given the option to text A, B or C to 46993 (GOWWE) in order to decide what they wanted to happen on the show. Things went perfectly at first when text votes selected Kelly Kelly (option B) to take on Brie Bella for the Divas Championship. However, our vote tabulating provider’s system became overwhelmed, causing these votes to definitively affect the following contest, in which Mason Ryan (also option B) was voted into a match against Evan Bourne — even though, as it was later discovered, Sin Cara had received 90 percent of the total votes in WWE.com’s Live Chat poll, and should have been Bourne’s opponent.

Votes for the third poll’s bout — Kane vs. Mark Henry in an Arm Wrestling Contest — were counted correctly. However, problems began to occur again during the next poll determining a match stipulation between United States Champion Dolph Ziggler and Kofi Kingston. At this point, so many text votes were received that the system overloaded, crashed and had to be restarted.

With little information to work from, WWE management selected to follow the system’s earliest projections, which determined that the 2-out-of-3 Falls Match had been the people’s choice. It was not until later that it was discovered that “Vickie Guerrero Banned from Ringside” was actually the top vote getter.

Restarting the tabulating system allowed for things to run smoothly with the voting for the Triple Threat Match to determine a No. 1 contender for the WWE Championship going off without a hitch.

Regrettably, technical difficulties occurred once more leading up to the night’s Six-Man Tag Team Match main event, when it became apparent to WWE management that text votes were again not being tabulated properly. At this time, a decision was made to turn to WWE.com’s Live Chat Poll for the official judgment. With the power still in the hands of the people, the WWE Universe selected the Elimination Match (option C) by an overwhelming 87 percent, leading to this stipulation being enacted.

Scott Hall Sentenced To Jail Over Drunken Arrest Last Year

13

TMZ reports that Scott Hall was sentenced to ten days in Seminole County Jail yesterday for resisting arrest last May.

Hall was arrested on May 14, 2010, and charged with disorderly conduct and resisting a police office. Authorities were called to the Hitching Post Bar in Chuluota after Hall, who had been “drinking heavily” according to a police report, “became aggressive”. When authorities arrived, they found Hall yelling and cursing at the amateur wrestling personalities Marc Grabowsky, Kevin “Showtime” Van Camp, Tony “ODB” Griffin, Shawn Shiever The Beaver Retreiver, Mark E. Nelson and other staff of the bar. Hall was told he was not allowed to return to the establishment. On his police report, Hall listed himself as an “unemployed” professional wrestler, despite having a job with TNA Wrestling, who would release him a month after the arrest.

Court records in Seminole County, Florida indicate Hall was sentenced to ten days in jail. His jail time, however, was reduced to two days for time served.

He is planning to check in to jail on July 5. A representative for the former wrestling champion says he’ll be in the medical unit due to his “bad health.”
