AEW has announced the return of a match with championship implications.
On the latest episode of Wednesday night Dynamite from Fishers Event Center in Fishers, Indiana, commentators revealed that the Dynamite Diamond Ring Battle Royale will be returning later this month.
The match this year will take place on December 17, Holiday Bash special of AEW\'s flagship show. The two finalists of the match will then square off against each other at the December 24 Dynamite On 34th Street special.
The winner of this bout will go on to challenge the AEW World Champion Samoa Joe, for the title at Dynamite Maximum Carnage set for January 14, 2026.
No names have been announced for the match yet, but MJF has famously won the bout every year since its introduction back in 2019.
The Salt of the Earth is currently taking time off from AEW programming for the filming of Violent Night 2. He has not been seen since the All Out PPV in September, where Mark Briscoe defeated MJF in a Tables \'n\' Tacks match.
There is no word on if the former AEW Champion will actually be making his return to the company with this bout, but it seems to be the perfect opportunity to reintroduce the young star on TV.
