AEW Champion Sidelined With Major Injury

AEW Women’s World Tag Team Champion Jamie Hayter is sidelined with what Tony Khan called a major injury, though he’s hopeful she’ll return soon.

After the three-hour Dynamite/Collision broadcast on October 14, Khan went live on X to give the update. He explained that he had been hoping The Brawling Birds would be able to defend the tag titles.

However, Hayter is still out hurt from the Chicago Street Fight. He said he hopes she’ll be back in a couple of weeks, but described it as a major injury.

I was hoping The Brawling Birds would be able to defend the Tag Team Championship but Jamie Hayter, from that Chicago Street Fight, is still out injured. Hopefully Jamie Hayter will be back in a couple of weeks. But that was a major injury.

Hayter and her partner Alex Windsor were last in action at All Out, where they beat Divine Dominion (Lena Kross and Megan Bayne) in a Chicago Street Fight to retain the titles.

The Brawling Birds appeared in a backstage segment on Dynamite/Collision with their United Empire stablemates Mike Bailey, Andrade El Idolo and Will Ospreay, but Hayter wasn’t wrestling.

AEW’s next pay-per-view, WrestleDream, takes place on October 17.
