AEW Dynamite aired from Daily’s Place in Jacksonville. It was announced that Jon Moxley will defend the AEW World Championship against Eddie Kingston in an I Quit match at Full Gear.

Wardlow Advanced In The AEW World Title Tournament
Wardlow battled Jungle Boy in the first round of the AEW World Title eliminator Tournament.
Match Recap: Wardlow started off the match in control and sent Jungle Boy flying across the ring. Jungle Boy slapped Wardlow in the face and followed it up with a Dropkick to the knee. Jungle Boy sent Wardlow outside and went for a Crossbody. Wardlow caught Jungle Boy and Powerbombed him into the steel ring post.
Back in the ring, Wardlow stomped Jungle Boy down and went for the cover but he was able to kick out at two. Wardlow showed off his power and launched Jungle Boy across the ring a couple more times. Wardlow connected with a Gutwrench Powerbomb for another near fall.
Wardlow turned Jungle Boy inside out with a Clothesline but he once again was able to kick out at two. Jungle Boy sent Wardlow out of the ring and connected with a Suicide Dive. Jungle Boy followed it up with a Tornado DDT in the ring for a near fall.
Jungle Boy connected with a Hurricanrana off the top rope and then hit a Backstabber. Jungle Boy made his way back to the top rope and hit a Knee Drop for another two count. Wardlow hit Jungle Boy with the F10 and followed it up with another one for the pinfall victory. Wardlow advanced in the tournament.
Kenny Omega Advanced In The AEW World Title Eliminator Tournament
Kenny Omega was originally supposed to face Joey Janela in the AEW World Title Eliminator Tournament but Janela couldn’t compete due to coming into contact with someone with COVID-19. Sonny Kiss replaced Joey Janela in the match.
Match Recap: The bell rang and Kenny Omega immediately hit Sonny Kiss with the One Winged Angel for the pinfall victory. After the match, Omega shared a hug with Sonny Kiss and exited the ring.
Fenix Advanced In The AEW World Title Eliminator Tournament
Rey Fenix faced Pentagon Jr. in the first round of the AEW World Title Eliminator Tournament. Eddie Kingston joined commentary for the match.
Match Recap: Fenix and Pentagon shook hands and then locked up in the middle of the ring. Fenix and Pentagon traded Arm Drags and then Pentagon applied an Ankle Lock in the middle of the ring. Fenix escaped but Pentagon caught him with a boot to the midsection.
Pentagon and Fenix then traded chops in the middle of the ring. Pentagon took off his glove and hit Fenix with a chop that echoed throughout Daily’s Place. Fenix went for a springboard Splash but Pentagon caught him with a Superkick. Fenix rolled to the ring apron and Pentagon joined him.
Fenix escaped and booted Pentagon to the outside. Rey hopped to the top rope and hit a corkscrew Splash. Back in the ring, Fenix ran across the top rope but Pentagon tripped him up as Dynamite went to a commercial break.
When Dynamite returned, Pentagon hit Fenix with a boot to the face and followed it up with a Slingblade for a near fall. Fenix battled back and hit a Hurricanrana off the middle rope. Pentagon went for a Powerbomb but Fenix escaped and hit a Superkick for a near fall.
Pentagon crotched Fenix on the top turnbuckle and joined him up there. Fenix connected with a Spanish Fly and went for the cover but Pentagon was able to kick out at the last moment. Fenix then connected with a Destroyer for the pinfall victory.
Opinion: I loved this match and I cannot wait for Kenny Omega versus Fenix in the semifinals.
Hangman Page Advanced In The AEW World Title Eliminator Tournament
Colt Cabana faced Hangman Page in the first round of the AEW World Title Eliminator Tournament. Evil Uno watched the match from the entrance ramp.
Match Recap: Hangman hit Cabana with a Clothesline in the corner and followed it up with a big boot to the face. Page connected with a Standing Shooting Star Press and went for the cover but Colt was able to power out at two. Hangman hit another Clothesline and followed it up with a Crossbody onto Colt outside the ring.
Back in the ring, Hangman went for a cover but Cabana kicked out at two as Dynamite went to a commercial break. When Dynamite returned, Cabana was in control and rolled up Hangman for a near fall. Cabana went for a Splash but Hangman caught him and hit a German Suplex for a two count.
Hangman Page climbed to the top rope but Cabana shoved him off and he crashed on the ring apron. Cabana followed it up with a Splash off the ring apron and then rolled Page back into the ring. Hangman hit a Pop-Up Powerbomb for a two count and then made his way to the ring apron.
Cabana tripped up Hangman once again and he crashed on the apron. Cabana avoided the Buckshot Lariat and rolled up Page for a two count. Hangman then quickly went for the Buckshot Lariat again and connected for the pinfall victory. Hangman Page will face Wardlow in the semifinals of the AEW World Title Eliminator Tournament.
Jericho & MJF Performed A Duet
MJF and Chris Jericho had a steak dinner tonight on Dynamite. MJF ordered a steak well done with a baked potato on the side. Jericho ordered the same order but with it cooked medium well. MJF then changed his order so that it was cooked medium. Jericho then changed his to medium rare, MJF to rare, and then Jericho to extra bloody rare.
Jericho told MJF that he has been rude to everybody tonight and that maybe they shouldn’t bother with the town hall meeting next week to determine if MJF should join Inner Circle. Jericho added that MJF’s nickname the ”Ratings Ruler” sucks and it has as much chance of getting over as Orange Cassidy. MJF and Jericho then performed a duet (My Shadow and Me by Frank Sinatra & Sammy Davis Jr.) before being served their steak. They complained it was two rare and sent it back to end the ridiculous segment.
Opinion: I’m sure there people that hated this segment but I thought it was hilariously random. You can just out the beautiful duet in the video below.
Young Bucks Will Face FTR At Full Gear
Butcher & Blade, Private Party, Reynolds & Silver, and the Young Bucks competed in a 4-way tag team match in the main event. The winning team will earn a shot at the titles at Full Gear. AEW Tag Team Champions FTR joined commentary for the match.
Match Recap: Private Party cleared the ring and Marq Quen hit Blade with a Suicide Dive. Quen then hit Reynolds with a Senton and went to leap onto Butcher but Allie got in the way as Dynamite went to a commercial break.
When Dynamite returned, Silver and Reynolds were in control and isolated Marq Quen in the ring. Kassidy tagged in and planted Reynolds with a Tornado DDT. Private Party then hit Reynolds with a Splash/Leg Drop combo but the Young Bucks broke up the cover.
Butcher and Blade slammed Kassidy to the canvas and went for the cover but Matt and Nick Jackson broke it up once again. Nick Jackson tagged in and hit Reynolds and Silver with a flurry of kicks. Nick climbed to the top rope and flipped onto Butcher & Blade outside the ring.
Matt Jackson tagged in as Nick dragged everyone off the apron so Kassidy couldn’t make a tag. Young Bucks went for the Meltzer Driver but Quen broke it up. Matt then rolled up Kassidy for the pinfall victory. The Young Bucks will face FTR for the AEW Tag Team Championships at Full Gear. After the match, the timekeeper got into the ring and hit Nick in the back with the steel chair. FTR then trapped Matt Jackson’s leg in a steel chair and Cash Wheeler stomped on it. Tully Blanchard was then revealed to be the person that attacked the Young Bucks from behind.
Opinion: This match wasn’t the best but the result was the right one. Young Bucks versus FTR at Full Gear is going to be incredible. However, the Young Bucks were being built up as heels but it looks like that has already changed based on what happened after the match tonight. It is inconsistent to have the Young Bucks Superkicking referees and announcers on recent episodes of Dynamite and then ask fans to feel bad for them tonight. Overall, Dynamite was still a good show this week. I’m really enjoying the tournament and I thought Jericho and MJF’s musical segment was great.
