AEW Dynamite aired from Daily\’s Place in Jacksonville, Florida. Jericho and MJF were interviewed upon arriving at Daily\’s Place. They both complimented each other and guaranteed that they will be AEW Champion soon. Jericho and MJF both said \”what a loser\” while walking away. It was also revealed that Moxley will defend the AEW Championship against Lance Archer on October 14th.

Here are the takeaways from this week\’s show:
Jurassic Express Picked Up A Win
Lucha Bros battled Jurassic Express in the first match of the night. Eddie Kingston, Butcher, Blade were ringside for the match.
Match Recap: Fenix went for a Dropkick but Jungle Boy got out of the way. Jungle Boy went for a Dropkick of his own but Fenix avoided it. Fenix hit Jungle Boy with a Dropkick this time and tagged in Pentagon.
Pentagon connected with a Splash but Jungle Boy kicked out at two. Luchasaurus tagged in and Pentagon sent him to the corner. Jungle Boy tagged in and sent Lucha Bros out of the ring with a couple of Arm Drags.
Jungle Boy hit Fenix with a Suicide Dive and hopped back on the apron. Pentagon shoved him off and Fenx connected with a Superkick to the face. Back in the ring, Pentagon went for the cover but Jungle Boy somehow was able to kick out at two.
Luchasaurus tagged in and hit a series of Clotheslines and then a Body Slam to Fenix. Luchasaurus followed it up with a gigantic Chokeslam and a Standing Moonsault but Pentagon broke up the cover.
Jungle Boy tagged back in and Fenix connected with a slam/Leg Drop combo on Jurassic Express. Pentagon hit Jungle Boy with a Backstabber and followed it up with a Piledriver but Jungle Boy wouldn\’t stay down. Pentagon accidentally hit Fenix and Jungle Boy rolled him up for the victory.
After the match, Eddie Kingston separated Fenix and Pentagon and scolded them for fighting with each other. They kept shoving each other and Kingston demanded that they shake each other\’s hand. Lucha Bros finally shook hands and Kingston shouted that he never was eliminated from the Casino Battle Royal.
Matt Hardy Vowed To Come Back Healthy & Chase His First AEW Title
Matt Hardy came down to the ring to address the crowd following his scary injury at AEW All Out. Matt thanked the people in attendance and they started up a \”Hardy!\” chant.
Matt said it is so amazing to be in an arena with people and that they are a part of our magic. Hardy stated that he suffered a fall at All Out and that he knows it frightened a lot of people.
Matt thanked everyone for all the love that they have shown him and he is expected to make a 100% recovery. Hardy pointed to his wife and newborn in the crowd and apologized to his family for putting them through that Saturday night.
Hardy added that the fans showed everyone how much they care about the wrestlers that put their body on the line. Matt stated that the Broke Rules match wasn\’t what he wanted it to be but he is glad that his vendetta with Sammy is over. Hardy vowed to come back healthy and chase his first AEW Championship.
Orange Cassidy Continued His Momentum
Orange Cassidy squared off against Angelico tonight on Dynamite.
Match Recap: Angelico controlled the action early and connected with an Arm Drag. Angelico locked in a choke hold but Cassidy was able to make it to the bottom rope to break the hold. Angelico went for a Splash in the corner but Cassidy ducked and Angelico flew out of the ring. Cassidy hit a Suicide Dive and brought Angelico back in the ring. Orange hit Angelico with a Splash and followed it up with a Tornado DDT. Cassidy then connected with the Orange Punch for the pinfall victory.
After the match, Santana and Ortiz attacked Orange Cassidy from behind. Best Friends rushed the ring but Santana and Ortiz retreated. Best Friends told Santana and Ortiz to meat them in the parking lot next week on Dynamite.
Miro Made His AEW Debut
Kip Sabian and Penelope Ford joined Tony Schiavone in the ring. Kip said that if wanted any member of the announce team out here it would be JR and told Tony to leave. Sabian claimed that everyone wanted to know who the best man was for their wedding. Kip\’s very large friend \”Puff\” came down to the entrance ramp but Sabian told him to go backstage because he just said he was the \”best\” for subscribing to his Twitch channel.
Brian Pillman Jr. made his way to the ring and thanked Sabian for making him the best man. Kip said he told Pillman \”you are the best, man\” and that they are not even friends. Sabian told Pillman that he hoped his birthday sucked as he was leaving the ring.
Finally, Miro (formerly known as Rusev in WWE) made his way to the ring and the crowd erupted. The crowd chanted \”Miro Day!\” and Miro thanked them. Miro said that he spent 10 years under the same glass ceiling and you can take that imaginary brass ring and shove it up your ass. Miro ended his promo by saying \”my name is Miro and I am All Elite\”.
Opinion: Much like Cesaro now, I always thought Miro (Rusev) was underused in WWE and I hope we finally get to see what he is capable of now that he is in All Elite Wrestling.
Jericho & Hager Are Going For The Tag Team Titles
Chris Jericho and Jake Hager battled Joey Janela and Sonny Kiss tonight on Dynamite in a No DQ match.
Match Recap: Janela and Kiss dominated the action early and brought a couple chairs into the ring. Janela went for a Splash but Jericho leveled him as Dynamite went to a break. When Dynamite returned, Hager slammed Janela through a table as Sonny went to the top rope. Sonny connected with a Crossbody off the top rope and beat Hager and Jericho down int he ring. Kiss climbed back to the top rope but Jericho sprayed a fire extinguisher in Sonny\’s eyes. Hager planted Kiss with a Uranage for the pinfall victory.
After the match, Jericho said that he and Hager are going to build up their wins in the tag team division and get a shot at the titles.
FTR Addressed The AEW Tag Team Division
FTR and Tully Blanchard came down to the ring to celebrate winning the AEW Tag Team Championships. Cash Wheeler told SCU that they probably would be champions if it was twenty years ago and then dissed Private Party.
FTR claimed that they were now the locker room leaders and the top guys in AEW now. Dax told Jurassic Express that they will face them next week and that if Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus win they will get a title shot. Harwood called Jungle Boy a \”cosplay Tarzan\” and Luchasaurus a \”dumb ass dinosaur\”.
Jurassic Express got in the ring and a brawl almost broke out. FTR quickly retreated with Tully to the outside as Marko Stunt grabbed the ice cooler. Stunt poured the ice on FTR and Tully outside the ring.The rest of the tag team division hopped in the ring and drank the champagne and ate the cake that was meant for FTR.
Ricky Starks Mocked Darby Allin
Ricky Starks came to the entrance ramp to Darby Allin\’s music. Starks was dressed like Darby Allin and joked about him getting injured once again.
Starks stated that there is a reason why nobody wants to tag with Darby and he sits alone backstage every week. Ricky called Darby reckless and added that he was going to kick Darby\’s ass the next time he shows up to Dynamite.
Nyla Rose Defeated Tay Conti
Tay Conti was emotional making her way to the ring for her match against Nyla Rose. Vickie Guerrero accompanied Rose to the ring.
Match Recap: Conti connected with a couple kicks to Nyla\’s face and drove her to the corner of the ring. Tay went for a roll-up but Rose kicked out at two. Conti locked in a Knee Bar but Rose broke free with a couple stomps to Tay\’s midsection. Rose sent Tay out of the ring and Vickie went for a cheap shot but the referee caught her.
Rose followed Tay to the outside and slammed her into the barricade as Dynamite went to a commercial break. When Dynamite returned, Nyla connected with a Powerbomb for the pinfall victory. After the match, Nyla attacked Conti but AEW Women\’s Champion Hikaru Shida made the save.
Brodie Lee Retained The TNT Championship
Brodie Lee defended the TNT Championship against Dustin Rhodes tonight in the main event.
Match Recap: Rhodes went right after Brodie before the bell rang and the action spilled out of the ring. Dustin hit Brodie with a Back Body Drop on top of a table and then bounced his head off the steel steps.
The action returned to the ring and Brodie took control. Rhodes battled back after a commercial break and connected with a Hurricanrana off the middle rope. Dustin planted Brodie with a Destroyer and went for a cover but the TNT Champion kicked out at two.
Dustin planted Brodie with the Cross Rhodes for another near fall. John Silver hopped on the apron and Rhodes used the distraction to hit a low blow. Dustin planted Brodie with a Piledriver and went for the cover but Brodie grabbed the bottom rope to break the hold.
Rhodes hit a massive Clothesline and went for the cover but Brodie powered out at two. Brodie caught Dustin with two kicks to the face and then the Discus Lariat for the pinfall victory. Brodie is still the TNT Champion.
After the match, Dark Order brought a beaten down QT Marshall to the ring. Brodie demanded that Colt Cabana get out of the ring after costing Dark Order a win at All Out. Brodie hit Dustin with a low blow and posed with the TNT Championship. It was then announced that Cody will be joining a reality show on TBS as a celebrity judge.
Opinion: I\’d rather watch Battleground 2017 on a loop than watch another one of these terrible talent shows. It makes sense for Cody to do a show like this as it could draw in more viewers for Dynamite. However, I will not be watching a single second of the Go Big Show. Overall, this week\’s Dynamite was a pretty good episode. Miro showing up was the best moment and I\’m looking forward to see what he can do in All Elite Wrestling going forward. I thought Rhodes and Brodie had a really solid match tonight as well. All Out was a disappointment and AEW was able to follow it up with a good show this week.
