AEW Dynamite Match Card for April 8, 2026
Here are the matches and segments announced for tonight's show:
Willow Nightingale (c) vs. Queen Aminata (TBS Championship)
Nightingale has been on a roll, successfully defending the TBS title against the returning Hikaru Shida on last Thursday's special edition of Collision. Tonight she faces another returning challenger in Queen Aminata, who hasn't competed in a singles match since September and has never previously challenged for a singles title in AEW despite being with the company since 2021.
Whoever wins tonight's match is likely heading into Dynasty with a target on their back, as AEW has yet to officially announce an opponent for a TBS title bout at the PPV.
Darby Allin, Bandido & Jack Perry vs. Andrade El Idolo, Konosuke Takeshita & Mark Davis (Trios Match)
This one comes with a late roster change. Brody King was originally slated to partner with Allin and Perry, but Tony Khan announced he's out for personal reasons. Bandido steps in as the replacement.
The match previews what's coming at Dynasty, where Allin meets Andrade in a singles bout with a World Title shot on the line if Darby wins. Takeshita and Davis round out the Don Callis Family side, giving AEW National Champion Perry a chance to mix it up with some of the most dangerous names on the roster heading into Sunday. Expect this one to spill over into the pay-per-view build in a big way.
Chris Jericho Addresses His Return
Jericho returned to AEW last week in Winnipeg after nearly a year away, receiving a massive hometown reaction. He kept it brief, but tonight in Edmonton he's expected to say considerably more. What his role looks like at Dynasty, and who might be in his crosshairs, should become much clearer after he grabs the mic tonight.
Kenny Omega Speaks Ahead of His AEW World Championship Match
Omega earned the number one contendership by defeating Swerve Strickland two weeks ago, putting his EVP position on the line to do it. He faces AEW World Champion MJF at Dynasty on Sunday in a rematch from their 2023 singles encounter. Tonight he gets the microphone one last time before that match, and given everything at stake, this segment has the potential to be one of the best promos of the year.
Road to AEW Dynasty 2026
AEW Dynasty 2026 takes place Sunday, April 12 at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia, streaming live on TBS and HBO Max.
Tonight's Dynamite is the final stop before Sunday's pay-per-view, with the Omega/MJF world title match and Moxley/Ospreay headlining a card that also includes Adam Copeland and Christian Cage challenging FTR for the AEW World Tag Team Championships.
