Nyla Rose has been candid about how frustrating her lengthy stretch off AEW television has been. But if you assume that frustration is directed at Tony Khan, she wants to set the record straight.
Speaking on the Off The Rails podcast, Rose was asked about her status with the company, and she immediately defended Khan, saying she genuinely doesn’t believe he’s the reason behind her limited television time.
She was clear that her stance isn’t just loyalty to her boss and she said there may be factors at play she either can’t discuss publicly or can only speculate about.
However, based on her personal relationship and conversations with Khan, her gut tells her the blame doesn’t fall on him.
No. No. Don’t beat up Tony Khan. Or… or just distract him and, you know, we’ll tag team him a little bit. No. Um, no. I genuinely don’t think it’s him. I genuinely, genuinely don’t think it’s him. You know how they say trust your gut. And this isn’t me just, like, glazing him because he’s my boss or anything like that.
It’s just, um, there may be some things I can’t talk about or, like, things I can only speculate on, but, like, in my heart of hearts, just the relationship that we have and, like, the conversations that we have, I don’t think it’s him, you know?
Rose still hasn’t returned to regular AEW programming, but her comments make her position clear that even while publicly admitting how hard the wait has been, she isn’t putting that frustration on Khan specifically, pointing instead to unseen factors she isn’t able to fully explain.
