AEW Star Reveals Slightly Torn Meniscus in His Right Knee

Anthony Bowens is dealing with a minor knee injury as he looks ahead to life after AEW, and he has been open about the physical toll of his career so far.

In an interview with Michael Fairman, Bowens was asked to list the injuries he has picked up as a wrestler. He said he currently has a slightly torn meniscus in his right knee. He has also had a torn meniscus in his left knee, which required repair, and a torn MCL that had to be surgically fixed.

His list went further. He has had several diagnosed concussions, and said there have probably been undiagnosed ones as well. He has also had a seizure in the ring and once bruised nerves in his lower back. He laughed that those were just the injuries he could remember off the top of his head, and that there are surely more.

I’ve had a few diagnosed concussions. I’m sure there’s been undiagnosed. I’ve had a seizure in the ring. My MCL’s torn; it had to be repaired. I currently have a slightly torn meniscus in my right knee. My left meniscus got torn and I had to have that repaired. Let’s see, I bruised nerves in my lower back once,” he laughed.

“That’s what I could think of off the top of my head. I’m sure there’s a lot more.

The update comes at a transitional time for the former AEW World Tag Team Champion. Bowens is now a free agent after being with AEW since 2020. He has also spoken publicly about his future, saying he knows deep down what he wants to do and that it remains to be seen whether it works out.
