AJ Lee’s absence after WrestleMania 42 raised concerns regarding her in-ring future. However, a new update suggests she isn’t done with in-ring action.
According to a recent report by Fightful Select, sources they spoke with believe AJ Lee hasn’t had her last match in the Stamford-based wrestling promotion. Moreover, they also told the outlet that they had not heard her name come up in the Paige/Bella Twins angle at SummerSlam.
AJ Lee returned to WWE last year after more than a decade of absence. She joined her real-life husband CM Punk in his feud with Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins, which led to them defeating the duo at Wrestlepalooza.
Following that, AJ Lee was majorly involved in a program with Becky Lynch. She won the WWE Women’s Intercontinental title from The Man at the 2026 Elimination Chamber PLE, only to drop it back to Lynch at WrestleMania 42. The Black Widow has not been seen on WWE television since then.
On the other hand, her close ally, Paige, has been feuding with The Bella Twins ever since they betrayed her at SummerSlam 2026. However, Brie Bella is currently injured, so Nikki Bella has been targeting Paige for weeks.
Therefore, it can be expected that once Brie is cleared to return, that could mark AJ Lee’s return to side with Paige and take on the Bellas together. So, we will have to wait and see what happens next.
