A hardcore legend is headed back to AEW, and he’s doing it in his own backyard.
Former WWE, ECW, and TNA star Rhino is reportedly set to appear when AEW rolls into his hometown of Detroit this week. Per PWInsider, The Man Beast is scheduled to be there, though his role and which night he’ll work haven’t been specified.
AEW runs back-to-back nights at the Masonic Temple Theatre in Detroit, with a live Dynamite on Wednesday, July 29, followed by a special live Thursday edition of Collision on July 30. Rhino has been doing local media in Detroit to promote the shows.
This won’t be his AEW debut. Rhino worked for the company last year during its previous Detroit run, losing to Nick Wayne on Dynamite and competing in matches taped for ROH. More recently, he’s been part of the TV launch of Scott D’Amore’s Maple Leaf Pro, beating Gama Singh Jr. on the debut episode of the Mayhem series, which airs on TSN in Canada and MyAEW elsewhere.
The Detroit Dynamite is the post-Redemption episode and already has plenty announced. AEW Trios Champions The Conglomeration defend against The Demand, new AEW Women’s World Champion Willow Nightingale celebrates her title win, and Renee Paquette sits down with Cage & Cope and the Young Bucks ahead of their tag title match at All In.
