TNA Wrestling is not currently for sale and Anthem Media has not been seeking a sale, with multiple sources inside both companies pushing back on social media reports claiming the promotion is on the market for $30-$50 million, according to PWInsider.
Anthem sources specifically denied the reported price tag, describing it as “undervaluing” TNA as it currently exists. Sources also denied reports that WWE holds a right of first refusal to match any acquisition offer for the company — a claim that had generated significant discussion, including concern from TNA co-founder Jeff Jarrett.
One source described the timing and origin of the reports critically.
A social media account with no track record or real following threw out grandiose statements and everyone parroted it for no reason other than to grab attention for themselves.
The source added that the reports appeared aimed at “hurting the company” as it headed into Slammiversary. The same source pointed to a historical data point as context: Anthem turned down former TNA President Scott D’Amore when he previously offered to buy the company.
The reports had been circulating on social media before being picked up more broadly across wrestling coverage outlets.
