The injury MJF suffered on AEW Dynamite was caused by a RUSH move rather than MJF’s own Tombstone Piledriver on the floor, and there is no heat on RUSH for the incident, according to Fightful Select.
MJF was removed from a Beyond Wrestling appearance following his successful AEW World Championship defense over RUSH. The prevailing belief was that he injured his knee while delivering a Tombstone on the floor.
However, Fightful Select reports the injury actually occurred when RUSH hit his signature running knees into the corner in what has been described as a freak accident.
Despite the injury, MJF is still expected to appear on weekly AEW programming while the injury is being monitored, indicating he is healthy enough to continue traveling.
