Braun Strowman has fired a blunt, two-word broadside at Triple H over Cody Rhodes’ glowing endorsement of The Game’s WWE leadership.
The exchange began when the Undisputed WWE Champion appeared on The Ariel Helwani Show on June 24 while promoting WWE Night of Champions. Rhodes offered strong praise for Triple H as the head of creative, framing the role as the toughest job in the business.
If you want a job in the wrestling space, nobody has a harder job than Triple H right now,” Rhodes said. “There’s never been a booker in the history of the business who has been beloved and revered the entire time. Nobody has a harder job, and no one can do that job better than he can do it.
Cody Rhodes also compared Triple H to a head coach managing a talented roster and highlighted his collaborative approach behind the scenes. He said Triple H regularly asks talent for their instincts.
He’s the head coach of this team,” Rhodes said. “One thing he’s big on is, ‘What do you think? What’s your gut tell you?’ That’s one of the greatest gifts, to be asked that when you have the experience.
Braun Strowman Pushes Back
Strowman, a former WWE star in his own right, did not share Rhodes’ confidence in the King of Kings. The Monster Among Men responded to the American Nightmare’s claim with a simple but effective jab, mentioning how the ratings do not support this theory:
When a fan pointed to World Cup competition affecting numbers, Strowman fired back again. He mentioned the success of Everything’s On The Menu, writing that the ratings issue “wasn’t a problem for my show lol.”
The shot fits a pattern of pointed public commentary from Strowman about WWE’s direction since his exit from the company last July. He recently shut down rumors of a potential return and has repeatedly suggested he sees himself at odds with the company’s current business approach, including remarks that WWE can’t afford him after pitching an Oba Femi feud.
