Carmella is not closing the door on WWE. She is just not walking through it yet.
The former SmackDown Women’s Champion appeared on Laura Clery’s IDIOT podcast and gave a fuller answer on her future than the one that made headlines two weeks ago.
I’m just not sure what the next step is for me, but I know I would regret being on the road and traveling while they are this young.
Her sons are the reason. Dimitri was born in November 2023 and Bram arrived in October 2025.
That’s not to say that I would never go back to WWE, but I just don’t know if it would be any time in the near future or in a full-time capacity because I can’t imagine being away from my kids for that long.
Carmella said on her own Hot Mom Sh-t podcast in early September that she was retired, telling Clery she was a mom now and could not wrestle anymore. She reversed it days later on X, writing that her foot had healed, that she was in the best shape of her life and that she was definitely not retired. Clery was the guest on that episode, so this is the return visit.
Her final televised match was a loss to Bianca Belair on Raw in February 2023, and she wrestled once more at a live event that March before stepping away to have her first child. She dealt with drop foot after that pregnancy. WWE let her contract lapse in February 2025 after 12 years.
Corey Graves, her husband, is still on the road as part of WWE’s broadcast team.
