Chris Jericho rates Kenny Omega above anyone else currently working when the stage is big enough.
Omega defends the AEW World Championship against Will Ospreay in the main event of All In on Sunday at Wembley Stadium. Jericho was asked about him by Justin Barrasso of Undisputed.
Kenny’s the best big show performer I’ve ever seen. Shawn Michaels was, too, in a different era. For the modern era, I can’t think of anybody better than Kenny, who delivers on big shows constantly.
Jericho has direct experience of it. Omega beat him at Wrestle Kingdom 12 at the Tokyo Dome in January 2018, in a match that helped push both men and New Japan into wider view in North America. The two worked several matches against each other afterward, in New Japan and then in AEW.
Omega’s reputation was built on that circuit. He has had long-form matches with Kazuchika Okada, Kota Ibushi, Tetsuya Naito, Ospreay and MJF, and picked up the nickname The Best Bout Machine along the way.
Sunday is his third Wembley appearance. He wrestled Konosuke Takeshita there in 2023 and Pac in 2024.
Also on the card are Willow Nightingale defending the Women’s World Championship against Mercedes Moné, Adam Copeland and Christian Cage against the Young Bucks for the tag titles, Kevin Knight against Darby Allin in a Falls Count Anywhere match for the TNT Championship, a three-way for the International Championship between Konosuke Takeshita, Kyle Fletcher and Kazuchika Okada, and the men’s Casino Gauntlet.
