CM Punk has revealed recurring effects of a past injury.

The former World Heavyweight Champion was the most recent guest on Hot Ones: Extra Heat on Netflix. Among other things, he was asked about compounding physical issues from his long wrestling career and if there is any scar or pain that takes him back to the moment of impact whenever he feels it. Replying to it, CM Punk recalled the time he fractured his skull:

I have had my fair share. I fractured my skull once. This is the one that reoccurs every once in a while, because after I fractured my skull, I developed vertigo really bad. Also, one I haven’t really talked about too much but what happened was I fractured my skull, and there are some bones in your inner ear to help with equilibrium and those kind of basically were like dice inside a cup, and got rattled around and thrown around.

The World Spins: CM Punk

CM Punk revealed that the effects of the skull injury is such that he still finds the world spinning around him sometimes, and there are matches which he has completed while dealing with a bout of vertigo:

So sometimes those still get knocked loose, and if I lay down and look straight up, the world spins. So there’s been a lot of matches that you see that you know a lot of people are impressed with, where I’m full on going through a bout of vertigo, and I don’t know what’s going on. I will also now blame the crookedness of my moonsault on my vertigo.

The Straight Edge Star most recently competed in the main event of SmackDown, where he ended up losing the World Title to Sami Zayn. You can check out the latest backstage news on Zayn’s title win here.
