CM Punk is set to headline WWE 2K26's Showcase Mode when the game releases in early 2026, according to an exclusive report from Insider Gaming’s Mike Straw.
The Showcase will be narrated by Punk himself and divided into three distinct sections:
- The first allows players to relive some of Punk's favorite matches from his WWE career.
- The second explores "What If?" scenarios examining what could have happened had Punk not departed WWE in 2014.
- The third section features fantasy matches against opponents Punk never faced during his original run.

This marks a full-circle moment for "The Best in the World," who was prominently featured in the very first Showcase Mode back in WWE 2K15. That edition highlighted Punk's legendary rivalry with John Cena from 2011-2013 across multiple matches.
Punk made his shocking return to WWE at Survivor Series in November 2023 after a nine-year absence. He previously appeared as DLC in WWE 2K24 as part of the ECW Punk Pack released in May 2024, marking his first appearance in a WWE game since 2K15.
WWE 2K26 is scheduled for release during fiscal Q4 2026, which runs from January through March 2026. Based on recent franchise patterns, a March 2026 launch appears likely. Get hyped!
