Cody Rhodes Teases John Cena Collaboration After Retirement Match

Cody Rhodes has teased a John Cena collaboration.

The Cenation Leader retired from active competition this past week at Saturday Night's Main Event. After losing his match to Gunther, the WWE veteran left his shoes and pads in the ring.

The American Nightmare had been seen lingering around the ringside for a long time after Cena had left the arena, trying to come to terms with the GOAT's retirement.

Cody Rhodes posted a photo of the gear left by John Cena on social media on Wednesday, teasing a collaboration with the now-retired star:

The 17-time world champion has already been announced for first post-retirement appearance at the Fan Expo New Orleans early next year.

It's unknown what the tease from Cody means for Cena. The former face of WWE is one name that has never appeared on Rhodes' podcast. So it's possible that the post is hinting towards John having his first interview post-SNME with his former protege.

The Undisputed WWE Champion is continuing his feud with Drew McIntyre in the meantime, most recently attacking the Scottish Warrior at his home.

McIntyre has been awarded one more title match with the former AEW star with a stipulation of his choosing after this home invasion, though the destination for this bout is yet to be revealed.
