Danny McBride and his buddy Steve are taking the Don Gato saga south of the border, following the legend of the masked tequila luchador to Arena Coliseo in Guadalajara for their next vignette on MLW Fightland.
The segment airs Thursday at 8 PM ET, streaming free on Tubi, with replays to follow on YouTube, VEEPS and NJPW World, MLW announced Monday.
MLW is keeping the payoff under wraps. The promotion teased that the pair will chronicle their visit inside CMLL’s famed building, leaving open whether they turn up another piece of Don Gato’s story, stumble into an unexpected encounter or walk out with more questions than answers. Either way, MLW told fans to “expect cool times and the best tequila.”
The Don Gato vignettes are scripted comedy segments built around McBride’s Don Gato Tequila brand, which MLW bills as the legend of an undefeated luchador. In the storyline, Don Gato walked away from the ring, went back to his home state of Jalisco and started farming agave, so a stop in Guadalajara, the state capital, puts McBride and Steve on the character’s home turf.
Don Gato’s Growing Footprint In MLW
The brand has been woven into MLW programming since August 2025, when McBride first laid out the character’s origin story on Blood & Thunder. MLW x Don Gato: Lucha de los Muertos followed at the Charleston Music Hall on November 20, 2025, a show where Místico won the Opera Cup. McBride then brought more Don Gato lore to the Fusion season premiere in May.
Thursday’s broadcast is MLW’s second on Tubi since the Fusion deal took effect September 17, putting the tequila tie-in in front of a platform MLW says reaches 110 million monthly active users. The brand is also attached to MLW’s next announced Charleston show, a Festival Hall Fusion taping the promotion is billing as fueled by Don Gato Tequila.
Fightland itself was taped September 12 at Festival Hall, and spoilers from the Charleston taping are already out for fans who want to know what else is on the show.
