AEW has parted ways with a top executive.
According to Alex McCarthy of Wrestling Intel, Nik Sobic, the Senior Vice President of Business Development, Partnerships, and Video Games, has exited the company.
Sobic had been close to the Khan family and had been working with Tony Khan for years. He had been part of the AEW team since the inception of the company in 2019 and worked in a 'strategic role' with the Jacksonville Jaguars before that.
Nik Sobic played a key role in the development of the AEW Fight Forever video game in his capacity and worked closely with the likes of Adam Cole and Kenny Omega to bring it to life.
After some delay, the game was released in 2023, though it failed to achieve the financial or critical success that the company had hoped.
It's unknown if the failure of the game contributed to Sobic's departure from the company. When reached out, AEW said that they did not comment on personnel decisions.
