Former AEW TBS Champion Maya World is on the shelf.
Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp reports that World has been out of action and underwent a procedure within the past week. Details of the procedure have not been made public.
The outlet is told the hope and expectation is that World returns to the ring soon. She has already been pulled from upcoming dates, and she is not expected at Dynamite tonight.
World’s rise has been fast. The Dallas-area native signed with AEW in late December 2025, and won the TBS Title from Hikaru Shida at Redemption in Montreal on July 26, her birthday. She held the belt through the summer before Persephone took it from her on the All In: London Buy-In on August 30, with Britt Baker interfering.
There is no timetable attached to the absence. We wish her a speedy recovery.
