The SummerSlam card isn’t finished yet, and WWE still has room to fill.
Per WrestleVotes on Fightful Select, the structure of the two-night event on August 1 and 2 is still coming together, with as many as three more matches expected to be announced.
One idea that had been floated was The Vision defending the WWE World Tag Team Championship, though WrestleVotes was told that hasn’t been finalized internally. Bron Breakker and Austin Theory took those titles back from The Street Profits on the July 6 episode of Raw, with Maxxine Dupri’s interference sealing it.
A source at ESPN told WrestleVotes the final lineup will land somewhere between 12 and 13 matches across the two nights. As of this writing, ESPN is expecting one of the featured matches for the first-hour windows to be Penta defending the WWE Intercontinental Championship against Chad Gable.
Plenty is already locked in. CM Punk defends the Undisputed WWE Championship against Cody Rhodes, Roman Reigns puts the World Heavyweight Championship on the line against Seth Rollins, Brock Lesnar and Oba Femi settle their rivalry inside Hell in a Cell, a ladder match crowns an Interim WWE Women’s Champion in the injured Rhea Ripley’s absence, and Danhausen meets Dominik Mysterio.
SummerSlam takes place August 1 and 2 at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, streaming on the ESPN App in the United States and Netflix internationally.
