Jeff Jarrett has no doubt that Mick Foley has one more match left in him. Speaking on his podcast My World with Jeff Jarrett, the WWE Hall of Famer threw his full support behind a Foley in-ring return in AEW, arguing the road to the match would be every bit as compelling as the bout itself.
Can he have one last match? Hell yes, he absolutely can,” Jarrett said. “I’m more here for the story on how we’re going to get there and the promos and the meeting and the emotion and what goes on into it.
Jarrett’s endorsement runs directly counter to Eric Bischoff, who recently advised Foley to stay out of the ring. The debate over whether the legend should lace up again has grown louder since Foley turned up in AEW.
Jarrett Says Foley Is A “Lifer”
When co-host Conrad Thompson asked whether he expected Foley to wrestle in AEW, Jarrett left no room for doubt about which way he leans.
There is no way in hell I would bet that he’s not going to pay this off in something,” Jarrett said.
Jarrett, who has known Foley for roughly four decades, framed the appeal around storytelling rather than physicality. He called Foley “a storyteller” and “a lifer,” adding, “Mick’s going to be able to capture emotion as long as he can breathe.”
A Storyline Built Around The Journey
Jarrett sketched out how a potential retirement program could play out, leaning on Foley’s real-life history rather than the match result. He floated ideas built around family, career struggles, and Foley’s rise through the business.
I can see Mick doing some Rocky training videos,” Jarrett said. “There’s so many things you can do that are going to be heartfelt. There’s things to bring in family.
He pointed to Foley’s early days driving long distances for training and working enhancement matches before becoming one of the most beloved performers in wrestling history. “What a journey,” Jarrett said.
Jarrett also argued that few stars from Foley’s generation could draw the same interest for a farewell bout.
If you’re a wrestling fan over the last 20, 30, 40 years, is there an individual that’s walking today that has the career that you would want to see one last match?” he asked.
Foley has spoken about being genuinely happy to be part of AEW since arriving, and fans have already floated dream matchups, including a potential bout with Jon Moxley. Jarrett believes AEW has a chance to capitalize.
I think the opportunity to really, really, really bite into Mick Foley, it’s coming,” Jarrett said. “And I’m here for it.
Foley has not announced any return match, and AEW has not advertised an in-ring appearance for him. For now, any talk of one final bout remains speculation.
