Ross explained that he lay on his living room floor for five hours following the fall. He posted from Jim Ross's X account (via Post Wrestling):
My trip to Orlando for @AEW Dynamite is postponed due to an untimely fall that saw me lying on my living room floor for 5 hours. I’ll be watching!
Ross, 74, had recently returned to the AEW broadcast booth on January 7 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
He has faced health challenges, including colon cancer diagnosed in 2025, from which he recovered after surgery, and a prior fall before AEW All In 2025, which he still worked despite the injury.
Under his one-year deal signed in August 2025, Ross handles pay-per-view commentary and select TV appearances. He assured fans he will watch Dynamite from home while recovering.
Get well soon, JR!
